An excellent hotel. Not particularly cheap, but well worth the money. Clean, spacious, superb breakfast with everything you could wish for. Bilingual, attentive and polite staff. Great view over the Arno from our room. Pleasant lounge/bar area in which to relax. Well situated for the main attractions. Some distance from the train/bus stations but this wasn't a problem. Would go there again.

Continental Breakfast was superb and best we had in our entire trip to Italy. Hotel was off the beaten path but only 10 minute walk to Ponte Vechhia. Great hotel but front desk staff very cold and indiffent except for Continental Breakfast staff who were very accommodating.

I liked this hotel very much. The services offered were excellent and suited my needs. It is a beautiful hotel and very comfortable. The morning brunch was delicious and plentiful (altho-care should be taken to keep eggs, bacon, and sausage is kept warm). The staff in the dining room was very competent and friendly. Dinner served in the restaurant was delicious but very expensive. However, I thought that the map representing the location was misleading. It is further than it looks, and people with walking problems would have difficulty walking to the center of town.

The service was unmatched in all of Italy. After check-in, we were escorted to our room by the front desk clerk which was a first for me. She gave us a tour of the Hotel then the room which was spectacular. The location could not of been better, right in the heart of the city with great views over the Arno River. We also received a restaurant recommendation from the concierge that was outstanding, it was called La Giostra which is not to be missed. It was the most entertaining restaurant in all of Florence.

A superb hotel; it was within easy walking distance of all the main attractions of Florence. Our room was spacious, clean, quiet and very comfortable. The breakfast was, by far, the best we have ever had in Italy. The one drawback, as as been noted in another review, is that the sound of anyone walking, or moving an article of furniture around in the room directly above, was magnified. This is due, however, to the parquet flooring. Myself and my wife stayed in the hotel for our 30th Wedding Anniversary and we were not, in any way, disappointed.

We were on a city break for 5 days which we found a little long. March would be a better month for temperature. Not many eating places close to hotel was a disadvantage as hotel menu was limited.Rooms overlooking the river are brighter and larger. Florence is certainly worth a visit.

A terrific hotel in a great location. The hotel overlooks the Arno River, a few minutes walk to the Ponte Vechio. The breakfast was very good with a variety of options available. The staff is very professional, courteous and accommodating. For a European hotel the room was spacious and well appointed. Our room was on the top floor with a large balcony overlooking the Arno, a spectacular view. The location of this hotel is excellent, within a short walking distance to all major sights and easy access to public transportation. A great place to stay when in Florence.

Location was excellent, across the street from the Arno. A little east of main area so not as crowded. We could walk everywhere. The view from the room/balcony was amazing. The breakfast area was quite lovely.

This hotel is ideal not only for the great service but for the view of the river and location. The staff was, by far, the most welcoming and helpful that we found. The price was exceptional for the stay- which included breakfast. We would certainly return. It is only blocks from the Ufitzi, as well.

This was a great hotel. The rooms were spacious and the staff was outstanding, going out of their way to provide any assistance we needed. We found the location to be ideal and within walking distance of all major attractions. We highly recommend and will stay here again when in Florence.

This was the nicest hotel! The staff was wonderful, the room was beautiful and we had a view of the Arno and the hills outside of Tuscany. The price was great. You will not be sorry staying here!

This hotel was a star as far as we were concerned - great staff, lovely surroundings, handy for everywhere, and - by Italian standards - value for money! We enjoyed our stay - the breakfasts were excellent as well - and we would stay there again. Highly recommended.

Room given were much different to the one offered and shown in web page. Reality (room 420) was much poor than the one in the web. My complains to Mrs Barbara were answered in bad mood. Receptionist could not find our reservation, I had to give her the copy.

This is the most wonderful hotel I have ever stayed in... old fashioned service..you are made to feel special from the moment you enter the hotel. They do everything possible to make sure you enjoy your stay, helping with where to eat, general directions, and even loaned us a brolly when it rained! This did not dampen our stay, we had a perfect time, and only wish we could keep it our secret! The breakfast was a feast, laid out beautifully too....will be visiting again very soon!!

Quality of service provided: a pity to require a deposit of 3 euros for an electrical adaptator when the price of one night is about 300 euros

Everything was perfect, except the weather for this week end we had in Florence. We had a large room providing a beautiful vue on the roofs of the city and Santa Croce. Personnel of the hotel was efficient, very polite, kindy and discrete. Most of employees speak several languages so you can be sure they understand what you may require or need. Great location right downtown.

An excellent hotel in an unbeatable location -- right on the river, a short walk to Santa Croce, Uffizi, and other key places. Great staff, very helpful. An awesome way for us to spend New Year's 2005. Very highly recommended.

On our Honeymoon and this was a great honeymoon hotel. Told them we were on our honeymoon and they gave us a room with a balcony and a great room with a view of the river. Staff was extremely friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Lot's of fresh fruit, meats and everything else. The hotel is a little pricey but its a great place to stay in Florence, very close to the main sights.

It was a great pleasure to stay at Luchese The Hotel showed a very high conformity versus the advertisments in the web.I would point out the excellent friendliness and help of the personal as well as the acting in the background. For further stays in Florence i would choose the Luchese again.

Knowing the prices of the hotels in Florence, it was good value. Nice to have a lounging area, too. The only problem was the noise. They have the doors - both the main door and the bathroom door - that has one of those spring thing and if you don't close it carefully and just leave it close it bangs very loudly. In the beginning, we thought it was the children upstairs or something but it went on and on and eventually we realised what was giving the noise. Every time somebody goes into a room, it banged very loudly as if someone dropped a huge rock on the floor upstairs. It was a shame because the room was quite nice for what we paid.

Given some of the reviews that I read I didn't expect much from this hotel. I was very pleasantly surprised by the overall feel of the property as well as the extremely high levels of service from the staff. The rooms were actually larger than I expected (perhaps this is relative to the extremely small room we had in Rome) and the hotel had a solid, classy feel to it. Nice decor and very clean. The location was quite good too-far enough away from the center of Florence to be a bit less crowded but close enough to make it an under 10 minute walk to virtually anywhere you'd want to go.

Unbelieveable! Both properties were exceptional in all regards. The staff was outstanding, friendly and knowledgeable. We had a very wonderful stay in Venice and Florence. Additionally, one of the Concerge's at the Plaza Hotel Lucchesi (Romano) deserves special mention. He did everything possible and more to help us.

The staff at Plaza & Lucchesi were very hepful (and their English was very good !). The hotel is situated just a 5 minute walk from all the main sights. The rooms are clean and the room we had (407), had a balcony with a great view on the river. We couldn't really fault anything in the hotel, except for a slight sting in the tail; the car park comes at a price.

We went to Florence to get married and stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. As it was a special occasion, we were given an upgrade to a sea facing room with balcony which was absolutely beautiful and much appreciated by us. This is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location with lovely service.

Plaza Lucchesi made our stay in Florence a very pleasant experience. The hotel consierge was a big help with reservations, directions, and suggestions. We always felt welcome. There was a slight difference in the room, though. I was quoted $179, and the actual rate was 199 Euros.

This was my second visit to the Hotel Plaza Lucchesi and they acknowledged it upon my arrival. The front desk staff made me feel so welcome. The rooms overlooking the River Arno have such a fabulous view. My only complaint is that the bathroom doors have an automatic close and have to be propped open. The service and food are terrific. I love the "a bit out of the way" location. I will stay there again.

The staff at the Lucchesi were the friendliest and most helpful of all the hotels we stayed in while in Italy. They even managed to get us reservations in first class on the train to Rome on the Friday of the Railway strike and had the tickets dellivered to the hotel. There was always someone to open the door at the hotel and help people with their bags and did it with a smile. The housekeeping staff were effecient and friendly also. I cannot say enough good things.

The staff was excellent. Their service was wonderful. The room was extremely small and claustraphobic. There was not enough room between the bed and the wall to place luggage and walk by.
