Excellent pensione with clean, beautiful rooms and comfortable beds. The only drawback is that it fronts onto a busy (pedestrian only) street and the hotel rooms have single pane windows that let all the noise in. Otherwise this is fantastic value.

I spend three beautiful days in Florence and I have to say thank you also to "Pensione Canada". The room was clean and the space was enough for me and my friend. The position of the Pensione was excellent (near the Duomo)and all the main monuments could be reached easily! The staff was very competent, friendly and helpful, the sensation has been that of being at home!

Right in the middle of things so super convenient. Of course there is a bit of street noise but the windows are very good for soundproofing - we did not need air con - don't know how it would be in August. Plus things quiet down fairly early. Staff is great.

Female Manager was not warm person, terrible customer service. when we have a question to ask, she alway said, "I am busy, tomorrow ask me", but some questions can not wait til the next day! The bathroom facilities were too basic: there was no toilet paper holder, so after house-keeping, half the toilet paper roll got wet. Also no tower holder and only two towels were provided. The most disgusting thing was we realised our towels had not been changed in 4 days, even after we put them on floor after use, the house keeper just hung the dirty towels on the shower screen. after we reported this to the manager, she told us it was their policy of no towel change, even if towels have been used for so many days. We were not informed of this policy beforehand, and the manager was unapologetic in allowing this to transpire. when she know we had dirty towels, she was very reluctant change our towels and kept saying this issue was not her business/responsibility - so what does she do??

The hotel is a total nightmare! It’s on a busy street with a shut door. You have to drag you luggage a long way up the stairs to the check-in, which is a killing job for travelers. The room looks clean but is very noisy facing the street, even with windows shut at night. Loud noises wake you up late at night and never had a good sleep there. The room is small with a bed taking up most of the space. The bathroom has the most tiny show booth in the world even for a skinny guy like me. The hotel lady always appears from nowhere forbidding you to make any “noise” in a weird accent. Moreover, they don’t keep luggage for you after you check out. So think twice to check in here.

The room (streetside) was very good, the only disadvantage was the noise in the middle of the night from the street. People were very loud outside. Maybe it would be an idea to put double glazing in the room.

I've been in Florence a lot of time in the last 5 years. So I can tell that "Pensione Canada" it a very bad hotel and service under all aspects. If the people want to live like eremits have only to choose this hotel. I suggest to avoid this choice. In Florence there are other hotel that assure more service and competence. In addition to the services provided by "Pensione Canada", the price is not cheap at all. Stay away from this hotel.

Lovely clean comfortable room. Wonderful hostess who gives excellent recommendations about the best places to eat. I would definitely return - only problem is that there is no lift so this would not be suitable for older travellers

Our room was spotlessly clean, white walls and marble floor, quite spacious and comfortably furnished in Ikea style. We could see the top of the campanile from our window. We were greeted by Tina who helpfully gave us good directions to a restaurant and to the laundromat. Excellent location near Duomo and an easy walk from the station. Will definitely recommend to our friends. Only caution - church bells at 7am and a long flight of stairs up from the street.

Very long staircase to get to Pensione Canada, but as soon as you get there, the place is clean, the rooms are comfortable and the staff is very nice. The location couldn't be better, right at the spotlight in Florence, 5 seconds away from the Duomo and other major attractions. The only complain will be the lack of air conditioning during a 35 degrees summer in Italy.

The room and common area were clean and the staff is very friendly. The hotel is in a great location, and very quiet! Some things to note: There is a 1am curfew. Strange key/entry policy--they do not give out front entrance keys, you have to ring the buzzer EVERY time you want to come inside. They also collect your room key when you leave the building so that they can account for your absence. If you arrive before check in, they will hold your bags for a few hours until you check in, but they will NOT hold your bags after checkout if you plan to spend the rest of the day in Florence.

Right in the heart of Florence - you step out of the pensione and are right next to the famous Dome and the main attractions. The place is very tastefully designed and the Signora managing the place very friendly and helpful with tips and recommendations of all kinds. I travelled with my small daughter (2 1/2 years) and we definitely enjoyed our stay. Also really good price/quality relationship.

Very friendly staff, the room, bathroom were cleaned. The place is close to the railway station and next to the Duomo. Very good access to center and everything. The only issue is that the place has no elevator and you have to use the stairs...a small inconvenience if you have a big luggage. I recommend it for a nice and relaxing vacation

The hotel is in the center of the historic section of Florence. It is located only one half block from the Duomo. There is no car traffic allowed on the street, only pedestrian access. The room was small but clean, and the bathroom was in a separate locked room adjacent to the room. Tina, who was the manager was friendly, and communicated in English very well. It is two flights up from the street, so it is only for people who can manage to walk the stairs (no elevator). It was very quiet in the room I rented, and very clean. For those on a budget, it was a good deal.

Delightful little Pensione right in the heart of Florence. SEcond floor of a traditional town house. Many steps to access the Pensione but once inside clean, well maintained and delightful staff. Very good value for the centre of Florence, we could see the Tower next to the Duomo from our window. However little in the way of facilities, but these were not offered and so not to be expected. It was an ideal base for a few nights in Florence, to see the sights and not break the bank!

We stayed in a double room with en suite bathroom, which were both very clean and spacious. The only slight problem was hearing what we thought might have been the noise of the air conditioning coming from another room at night. The central location made it very easy to explore Florence. We would fully recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Pensione Canada was a great place to stay, a little hard to find from the directions on googlemaps but if you know where it is its easy. If you can't walk up stairs its not the place for you because it has 4 flights and no lift. Overall the stay was great and we would recommend. Tina was very welcoming and a great help with directions to places. If you were to stay here head towards to Duomo and Borgo San Lorenza is one of the streets off the square at the back of the Duomo. Once you find that then walk down and look to your right and its quite easy to see.

Hotel staff is very warm and helpful. We arrived late at night, but were welcomed and accommodated very nicely. Room is clean and comfortable except that the private bathroom is in the next door and so we need to be very careful and not disturb others at night. But it's not a bother anyway. The location is excellent. A stroll to the end of the street leads you directly to the Duomo. Other major historical sights are also within walking distance of the hotel. A really recommendable choice for visitors.

Hotel staff was excellent and spoke great English and provided good advice on restaurants and site seeing. Arranged for taxi to airport! I stayed 5 different times within a 4 week period. All rooms were clean and spacious. Location to museums, cathedral, historic locations is excellent. Location is 2nd story so you have to navigate stairs but no problem for me. Again staff is excellent and friendly. I would recommend staying at this location and the value was excellent.

Wouldn't stay there again. Towels weren't changed out daily. Only one towel per person with no wash cloths or hand/face towels. Had to check in your room key every time you left the building and got scolded if you didn't wait for someone to show up to give it too. Was actually told to leave it on the desk if noone came out to get it.

Clean, quiet, bright, high ceilings, cermaic floors, comom area with TV and magazines.Great location, and great place to stay.Within walking distance from the train stn. We had problems finding the place because there is insufficient signage on the street level. They need to place the hotel name above the door or on the door. You leave your room keys at the front desk and need to ring a buzzer to be let in.There is no elevator and you have to climb 53 steps.Private and shared bathrooms are outside your room.Take ear-plugs because you can hear the door buzzer and the echo of guests locking and unlocking doors, and you can hear churchbells ringing everymorning at 7am and again at 7:30

Hotel Pensione Canada is a great place to stay. It is 2 minutes from the Duomo (city centre). We accessed the main sites very easily. The pensione is very clean and the staff very friendly. Perfectly located directly at the Duomo. Newly refurbished rooms, room and facilities very clean. Had a room to the back side of the building, therefore very silent. Would recommend to anyone who prefers a central location at a very reasonable price and who does not require a private bathroom (had a room without bathroom).

The location of the hotel is fantastic. Just next to the dome. Room is huge and well-furnished with sight seeing outside. We booked a private double, the bathroom is next to the room with an separated private key, bathroom is huge and pretty, I am a little bit spoiled.Backpoint is no lift, a little bit hard for ladies to carry luggages up.Also, there is no breakfast but there is a great place serving cheap breakfast around. You can just spend like 2 Euro for a cup of coffee and crossiant, not bad. But remember to eat standing up.

Incredible location, just round the corner from the Duomo and walking distance to everywhere else. The room was very big and clean. Nice bathroom, everything new. The staff is very kind and speaks several languages (we speak spanish and english and didn't have any trouble with them). The only bad thing, to enter the Pensione you need to climb 2 stairs which may be a little hard if you're carrying a heavy bag. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it has a very good price / quiality relation.

Pension Canada is a wonderful value in price and location, and also in service. Tina, our host, opened the doors to greet us and was always available to answer questions, offer recommendations and to just chat if we liked. She was very responsive to all our needs. Our room for 3 people was much larger then we expected and very clean and comfortable. It was located in the back, and very quiet. The only noise to wake us was the ringing of the Duomo bells.

Good Point: Really clean place with nice ambiance. It is like a hotel but at the same time a home..at hostel price, what else can you ask for? Bad Point: 53 Steps until arriving at this sanctuary. No lifts just the steps. Good Point: Location, PERFECT! only about 2 mins walk to the Duomo. Very very central. Bad Point: We had the room by the main street and it was noisy especially on a sat night where at 2 am there were drunk people screaming etc. Overall: If i stay in Florance, I will choose this hostel but dont carry such a huge luggage. Shared bathroom was always clean just that you have to walk a bit pass the common room but that was fine as there wasnt anyone there. Tina was helpful in helping us to book a taxi and suggested good restaurants to us. She was always there to welcome us.

We arrived at Firenze and the Hotel was really close to the SMN train station. The location was excellent, you are in the centre of Firenze (Very close to Il Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and every important square in town) and in a very nice commercial zone with lots of restaurants and shops, besides this fact, there are no annoying noises at all in the hotel rooms. The bathroom was bigger than my own room (at home) and was very clean and comfortable. The room was very big and nicely decorated with a window that showed us a small garden full of nice plants. The lady that received us in the hotel was very very sweet, polite, and elegant, she gave us a map, and was always willing to assist us, in fact we made her wake up pretty early and she was there waiting for us elegant as always. Really recommended hotel because of all above, it's a shame that there's no breakfast service as the hotel is extremely nice to stay for a couple of hours in the morning, very modern and clean. The only real inconvenient is that there's no elevator, and there's no luggage room in case you have to check out, but the lady of the hotel will assist you if that's the case and tell you where to take your luggage. We really enjoyed our stay and were surprised that it's just a one star hotel, because it's nice, well located, VERY clean and silent and with great staff.

Very central (Duomo), confortable, shared facilities are very clean and the staff competent and helpful. Even though there is no breakfast and a 1 AM curfew, the price is definitly worth it (40€ for a double room, cheaper than a hostel!). The room was poorly furnished, only a bed, bedside tables, a closet and a table. The number of hangers in the closet was very small (only 4). The bathroom was clean, but lacked hooks for towels, showermat, bath soap, and a lot more. The greatest advantage was the location. The biggest disadvantage were the stairs with over 50 steps. Also no WI-FI was offered.

Personally can't fault room or friendly and helpful service. Only problems could be if you are light sleeper i.e. noise with open window (a fan was provided in the room),no private toilet facility in room and having breakfast in price. However this did not apply personally. We are a young couple and for us cleaness is of a great importance. We were amazingly surprised how clean and welcoming the hotel was. The lady is very hospitable and very warm, the room was very nice and clean, the bathroom even though shared was always clean, the location of the hotel is more than great - 10 min away from the train station and around the corner is the cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore. My friend and I had a wonderful stay here. The room, and the hotel in general, was spotless, while the staff were friendly and welcoming. Tina, the proprietor of the hotel gave us a lot of helpful tips on sights and restaurants. Furthermore, the location is great! The only negative thing is that one must climb 2 flights of stairs to get to the hotel so it may not be difficult for those who have trouble climbing steps. Other than that, I highly recommend Pensione Canada to other travellers.

The 1 am curfew was an unpleasant surprise. There were inadequate facilities, no hanging space in the bathroom, no ironing, no tea facilities. The prices of food in the restaurants and supermarkets were exorbitant (because of the central touristy location). The location however was close to all the main tourist interests.

The Hotel is a budget hotel with no breakfast, room tea service, ironing, and the 1 am curfew was an unpleasant surprise. The Hotel in the heart of the city was actually a disadvantage as it was noisy, crowded at all times and even the supermarket was expensive. So though the hotel was cheap, the cost of food was very high.

The Pension is situated in a fantastic place. I would really recommend this place. The rooms are large, very clean and the staff very nice. The downside was, that there was not any breakfast and they didn't serve breakfast at all so you had to leave the room in the morning without having eaten anything. We bought some food in the supermarked just on the corner in the evening so that we did have something before leaving the room in the morning. Another thing was, that they would not let us leave our luggage in the pension for a few hours on the day of our departure. We were told to store it at the trainstation. That I didn't think, was good service. But I would really love to stay here again. The price was amazing for the location - just around the corner from the Dome. But there are quit a few stairs up, so you should be aware of that. And that the pension closes it's doors at 1 in the night and you won't get in before morning - but they do tell you this aswell on arrival. Brilliant place!!

This place was an absolute bargarin! The photographs do not do it justice at all. It was spotlessly clean everywhere, great service. At first when booking it, i wasnt expecting anything near as nice, considering the low price, but it was beautiful. we also had a view from our window looking down into a beautiful little street. Location is perfect, right in between the duomo and all the leather markets. There are a few stairs to climb, but they're definately no struggle. Very secure, felt very safe staying here. It looked like it must have just been rennovated because everything was fresh and new! Would 100% recommend this to anyone staying in Florence, even if your budget does allow for more, as it is far too cheap for the quality you get!

Diletta and Andrea were VERY helpfull, friendly and welcoming. They gave us tips and advice on sightseeing and pointed out all the nearby supermarkets. We would certainly reccommend Pensione Canada to anyone who wishes to visit Firenze!! The location is very central. Thank you Diletta for the super stay !!

You could not get a better area. The room we had was clean, big and quiet. There is a curfew of 1am, but that was fine for us. The lady was very nice and helpful. She gave us an upgrade to a room with airconditioning because it was so hot, which was lovely. The price is super cheap so it is very basic accommodation. But when you are in a city as beautiful as Florence, you are barely in your room and just need somewhere clean and safe. Pensione Canada was more than adequate. Only downside was no tea/coffee facilities. They have a small communal are with a couch and TV. Would highly recommend to the traveller on a budget, or those on a short stay!

Incredibly nice and clean hotel, wonderfully located. The receptionist is kind ant helpful, it's almost like a family environment. Rooms are just perfect: spacious, neat, and decorated with great taste. Bathrooms are OK. It is really as close to the Duomo as it appears on the map, believe it or not. You can reach it from the railway station in a 5-10 minute walk. The surroundins are cool and safe at night. There is no elevator, so try to travel light!

Great location, close to Duomo and train station. Lady at reception very welcoming and helpful, made the place feel homely. Small hotel, very clean. No air conditioning but they gave me two fans for my room immediately on arrival. Single room small but sufficient. Good price, would stay again.

Fantastic location, near to everthing with waliking distance. Nearby full of restarants and stores. cozy and clean, newly decorated. Great value for money. Considerate and hospitable staff will recommend you the most delicious icecream Grom and best coffeeshop and restaurant in Firenze. We had a wonderful time there.

There is no air conditioning and no fan, so you must leave your window open to the noisy, smelly street and the mosquitoes!!! I would never stay here again in warm weather, but I expect it would be nice in cooler weather. The location is excellent and it is very clean.

A really nice hotel, perfect for business. When you have to work early in the morning it doesn't matter that you have to be in the hotel before 01.00 hour. And I missed the breakfast-service, otherwise a perfect hotel.

Great location, with view of Duomo! Close to restaurants, sites, train station. For next day tickets for most museums, etc. ask at front desk. We had a back room, so less noise from street - though we overlooked a hostel (i believe) which was noisy one night. If you don't mind stairs - great location!

The location of this hotel is excellent. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Excellent value for money. Our host lady gave us loads of useful information. I would most definitely stay there again. For any prospective clients, the following house rules applied to us: no food in the rooms; be in before 01:00; shower only available between 06:00-21:00.

Pensione Canada is in close proximity to the Duomo and other sightseeing areas. The 1am curfew is a bit of a drag and even during the day you're forced to whisper, being "shhh'd" by the owner/operator of the hotel. It felt as though we were being scolded. Towels are in rough shape, too small and inadequate for the shared bathroom. Toilet in the shared bathroom sometimes didn't flush. The street below is noisy, all hours of the day/night. Stay here if you're on a budget and want to be in the heart of the action but don't expect a great night's sleep.

Pensione Canada has a lot of good qualities going for it... it is relatively less expensive than most accommodations you would find in Florence and in a great location for sight-seeing, it was very clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful with questions. The downsides were: 1) to get in and out of the hotel you have to ring a bell and get buzzed in and out of 2 doors with a curfew of 1:00 am, 2) no available internet, and 3) the inability to hold our luggage for a couple of hours after checking out in the morning since our train did not leave until later in the afternoon. Ask for a room not on the street to avoid lots of noise... however, the view and people-watching from the street-side made the noise almost bearable (along with earplugs). Overall, the amenities matched the price.

The location is extremely good and the staff is very friendly. The only downside is that there is no lift and the hotel is on the 3/F (not good if you carry heavy luggages). It is also quite noisy at night since its along a busy road.

Excellent hotel at a very cheap price. Great location, right in the centre of the historical district of florence. Easily walkable to train station and major sights within Florence. Very pleasant staff. Exceptionally clean. A bit noisy as you can hear the street noise, but not a huge deal. Had a room with shared bathroom, but not an issue at all. The only negative as that we only stayed for 1 night.
