The staff were generally helpful and the breakfast was delicious. But our room was old and cramped and the windows did not close properly. As a result mosquitos got in every night and attacked us all.

During our stay it was abt 40 degrees hot and our A/C did not work. We had one family room and one single room, and it was the same everywhere. This destroyed our stay completely, as it was impossible to sleep until there was a little chill from the window, around 4 am until the sun came up. When we complained, the staff only apologized, there was nothing to do about the A/C. There was also a big water puddle on the floor from the A/C in the master bedroom, all the time. The elevator made you nervous and there was a certificate on the wall that indicated that the last inspection was made in 1988. The two single beds in the family room were poor but the master bed was good. The children's room was very small and their door could not be fully opened due to one of the beds. This was the negative side. On the positive side: The breakfast was very good for being Italian. The garden outside the house is small but nice and you can sit there in the evenings and relax. The staff was nice, but not all could speak English. A nice and quiet area, abt 5 km from the city center. Bus number 23 will take you to the old parts of Florence or to the central station. The bus stop is 5 min walk from the hotel. Recommendation: do not stay at this hotel during the hot periods of the year.

Weloved this small hotel that is almost like a bed and breakfast. Staff was very friendly and helpful, especially to a member of our party who was ill. Breakfast in the garden was wonderful, with freshly made cappucino made to order. Delightful surroundings in a beautiful neighborhood just a few block from a bus stop. Walking distance to cafes, pharmacy, and laundromat.

We spent five nights from February 16th.We didn't regret as Florence in Winter is not really too busy. The hotel is about 15-20 minutes'walk from the city center but the bus 23 is at about 5 minutes'walk from the hotel. As to the price, it 's really a bargain as we only paid 50€(Breakfast included)for 2 per night. The only negative points: the rooms are really badly heated and we were cold. I would recommend that the hotel changes its heating system and isolate the windows of the rooms because it's a pity that such beautiful rooms be badly heated, especially in winter but at that time of the year, Florence is at minus 3-4 C.The offer negative point is that it's not very easy to find restaurants around the hotel. The staff of the hotel recommended two or three.Overall,I can only recommend this hotel but will you choose to go to Florence in Winter ?

Rooms were spacious, elegantly decorated, clean and quiet. The area was good and hotel was on main bus route. We chose partly for the spa pool and were disappointed that both the pool and outdoor patio were closed in early October although weather was warm and sunny. Website should indicate seasonal availability. Breakfast was OK. Walked into central Florence in about 25 mins along river and it was safe. Have visited florence several times.

We chose the hotel because of the parking possibilities (rather expensive). The overall standard does not match 3 star hotel according to our experiences in Italy. We got a small room for three facing the very busy road - very noisy indeed! Appreciated use of the Wi-Fi in the reception area. There was not enough possibilities for hanging up towels and clothes. The hotel could gain on a redecoration. Nice people, good coffee and tea in the bar.

At first access to your hotel, I know where your hotel is 'on the map', but I don' to know how tight the road is. At first, we walk from nearest subway station because I didin't know bus information. The road is very very tight. So, if you tell the visitors about bus information beforehand, your hotel may be perfect.

Very good value in low season February. The hotel lives up to it's description the only gripe being that our room was very cold on arrival - hopefully it was a one off.It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the Ponte Vechio and on into the historic centre. We arrived by car for which the hotel is well situated and it also offers private parking for a small extra charge.Overall we were happy with the hotel and would certainly return.

A dump with very friendly and not very professional service. Breakfast room is filled with a smell of raw sewage. You get very little but so is the price. This is our first and most likely the last stay in Italian *** hotels.

About 30 mins walk into city centre or good bus services. On site parking a bonus. Some OK local Trattorias (including one where we had a divine Tagliatelle e Tartufo). Overall a good hotel and nice and quiet compared to city centre.

Pleasantly old-fashioned hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly and all spoke fluent english. Maps, brochures etc.provided on request.Easy access to main town attractions; lovely 20 minute walk along banks of Arno or frequent bus-service available. Breakfast more than adequate; bedrooms clean, spacious and comfortable. Don't like fixed-head shower -but could live with it for a few nights!

Only stayed in this Hotel for one night and it was great value for money. Takes about 20 minutes to walk to Florence City Centre. The room was spacious and clean. My only criticism is that the air con unit was a bit noisy. The staff were friendly and competent. Breakfast was very nice. The parking was secure which was a relief. But cars are jam packed in front of the hotel. But it was a piece of mind as my car was full of equipment, clothes etc for a 3 week camping holiday. If you're looking for a quiet and secure hotel and only 20 minutes walking distance from the centre of Florence then I would recommend this hotel without reservation. Next time I visit Florence I shall stay at this hotel.

Great place!!! Great staff! Great location for us (we had a car). Good rooms. We liked it a lot (comparing to Rome's Relais group vaticano). Book it if you like staying private and secluded and if you like walking. Didn't have breakfast, so nothing to say here. Wi-Fi works great! Staff very helpful and pleasant. Would stay again. Ciao

Awsome hotel. There's always someone around who speaks English (the owner is British). The room, though not huge, was very clean and very cozy. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the center of the city. However, the walk is quite nice as you mostly walk along the river Arno. Highly recommendable place to stay! Stayed another night as it was so nice.

I expected more for the equivalent of $200/night. Claim of air conditioning exaggerated since it worked poorly in typical hot summer weather. Manager confirmed the AC was in need of repair. OPen windows resulted in many mosquitoe bites. Room wall light fixtures were replaced but walls were not repainted and holes were not filled. This property is nice and could be worthy BUT repairs sorely needed.

The Villa Liberty exceeded our expectations! The rooms were nicely decorated and clean. The breakfast was very nice, served in a lovely room, if somewhate crowded. The hotel is in a 100 year old building, decorated with antiques and in arte deco style. We thought it was charming, cozy, and comfortable.

My favorite hotel in Italy, due to the staff and the quaint room. Antiques and high pictured ceilings. Staff was excellent. Very helpfull. Booked our next hotel for us in Venice. Recommended a great restaurant for dinner. Great location. Can walk to Florence and to Piaza Michelangelo. It's a bit far. we didn't mind. Nice to be away from the city, in the outskirts of Florence.
