This was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at in Europe. The grounds and hotel were impeccable. The rooms were quiet, comfortable, well equipped and large. The bathroom was very nice, and not just by European standards. the breakfast was wonderful and included in the price. They included sliced meats and cheese along with the typical coffee, breads, cereal and yogurt. The staff was one of the greatest advantages. They went out of their way to be helpful. Spoke English, French and even put up with my attempts at Italian. It is a bit far from Florence Center but the 37 bus takes you into downtown quickly. For later evenings, the 68 bus follows the same route. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The hotel is great. The room is warm and cozy, well decorated and spacious. Although the hotel is not close to the centre is well located with a bus stopo in front of it. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, the air conditioning in this hotel did not work well. It rattled and speeded up and slowed down every few minutes. I tried turning it off, but the room quickly heated up. I then opened the window and was invaded by mosquitos. So, I just turned up the A/C all the way and suffered through it. The hotel staff were friendly. The breakfast was just ok. The location was good, though no restaurants within a few minutes walk. This was the only hotel on my Italy trip that I would not stay at again, simply because of the issue with air conditioning. In the winter, it would probably be a good choice though.

I loved the hotel. it is in a relly beautiful and calm neighborhood, not far from downtown. The services were great: Abel(the receptionist) was really nice and attentive even that we were all the time asking him something and he was always very sweet.

Staying at this hotel was the highlight of our trip. We arrived tired and irritated after walking for hours with our suitcases, and received a wonderful welcome by the owner, who was attentive, patient and extremely helpful. He booked us a great restaurant for the evening and a rental car for the next morning. After a shower and a beer on the beautiful terrace, the world seemed a much nicer place. A big plus is that this place is unbelievably cheap in comparison.

Hotel Betania is a really nice hotel situated inside a big garden with trees and lawn. It is quite spacious and nicely decorated. Room was very good and clean with big bathroom (only bathtub) and friendly people. Good choise for a relaxed stay in Venice. The only minus is that is situated a bit outside the old city and on a hill - approx 20min walk returning to hotel. But you can always use the bus!

We stayed in 4 places in Italy and this was our best experience by far! It's about a half a mile walk down a hill form the hotel to the bus stop that takes you to the center (if you walk fast it's about 25 mins. to Duomo). Not recommended for those that don't like to walk. For those that do, the walk is beautiful. Going back to the hotel you don't have to walk up that hill because the bus stop is just 1/5 of a mile from the hotel. If you have a rent-a-car you can park in their villa hotel for free. They also make museum reservations for free and if on your check out day you need them to hold on to your bags they will do it for free also. Breakfast was great, service even better. Next time we go to Florence, this will be our place to stay at!

Nice Hotel outside the city but in walking distance. Unfortunately there was a construction site in front of the room´s window, but the disturbance was moderate. No bar or other facilities in this small and nice classical tusca villa. Fre parking on the Hotel´s area. Would choose it again!

We are a young spanish couple,we´d strongly recommend this hotel specially for couples who look for a romantic, quiet and charming hotel. And besides the relation price-service is amazing.we payed only 30 euros per person (60 in total)and with the breakfast included¡¡ everything was very clean, beautifully decorated, surrounded by gardens and nice walks to palazzo pitti,or puerta romana.honestly that´s the only small disadvantage:its a bit far from centre specially if u want to come back to hotel, cause you have to go up a long slope.but anyway you have in the door the bus number 11 if u dont fancy to walk.the building is modern, small and really nice and relaxing.so A "10" for VILLA BETANIA

Nice location - easy to catch the bus into town, but finding the stop for the number 11 bus back out to the Hotel is a little harder. Not many restaurants close to hotel for dinner.

Very nice, recently redone, villa on large property at the corner of several main thoroughfares just outside Florence city center. Quiet area. Rooms relatively large, large bathrooms with good showers. Breakfast (continental) okay. Place could do with a little bar. (They may have one, but I didn't see it) No problem parking and no charge either! Very easy access to autostrada. Ideal place to stay if you have a car since cars aren't allowed in the center. Bus stop about 200 yards away, takes you right into city center and run frequently. I wouldn't recommend walking. It's much farther than suggested on the website. Took us 25 minutes going downhill all the way. We didn't even attempt walking back. If you have a car, can be a good place to stay in Florence and make day trips to Siena, San Gimignano, Fiesole and other surrounding areas. Price was reasonable considering the cost of other hotels in the center of Florence, which are not only more expensive for the room, but also charge you for parking.

Great hotel in a great location. I would recommend this place to anybody travelling to Florence. Very close to the old district. You can go by bus just right down the street (#11) or walk. it is a nice walk right down to the front entrance of the old city and it is a beautiful walk. People at the front desk gave great directions to restaurants and locations to visit. Very helpful staff. Great Place! Very good quality for the money in my opinion and we felt we were staying in a first class environment. building was old and newly remodeled. Very nice vintage building and the grounds with gardens were wonderful.
