This was our first stay at this hotel. The location was convenient and the hotel grounds were beautiful and lush. While the grounds staff/breakfast staff were amazing the owners and the administration was rather crusty. They could learn a lesson or two in customer service. We witnessed staff being talked down to. While there were many areas to relax,it appeared that lights out was no later than 11. The breakfast operation was totally not organized and the staff had to go far away to the bar to make a coffee. There was no toaster access for the customers and toast had to be made by the service staff in the basement. While the breakfast staff were extremely pleasant and helpful the tools with which they were provided to do their jobs made for an inefficient operation. Our group of 3 couples felt that we were being babysat. While the rooms were clean and spacious, we stayed a bit away from the main hotel and the sound transference was terrible. One could hear a pin drop in the corridor and the all 3 couples heard snoring coming from other rooms. There was very little hot water as well. There were very strict rules for the pool and the pool hours were very early. The hair dryers in the rooms were quite antiquated. After taking an overnight flight and arriving early morning the staff felt it necessary to charge us for our very first cappuccino. This hotel should pay a visit to the Hotel Grondaie in Siena to learn what customer service is all about!

Fascinating family-run hotel. Reception was very helpful, with advise in English on local restaurants and bus routes. We stayed in a triple room at the "little house", where air conditioning was adequate, but not excellent. Breakfast was good - with scrambled eggs and bacon - and staff very friendly. Cleaning of the room could have been better, e.g. towels and slippers occacionally missing. Tennis court and swimming pool good extras and not typical in a Florentine hotel.

Beautiful villa. Family run. Very gracious people. Breakfast is good and included in price. Great views. Nott too close to transportation and best accessible by taxi or car.

If you want a beautiful place to stay when in Flroence, you MUST stay at the Villa Belvedere. From the time SImon met us until we checked out 5 days later, this felt more like a home than a hotel. Although about a mile or so outside of city center, the grounds are fantastic, the staff amazing and the ambience one of peacefulness. Some rooms have balconies that give an awesome view of Florence and the rose garden was the perfect place for one of Belvedere's wonderful capuccinos. The breakfasts were great (including cooked to order eggs for you Americans) and town was easily accessible via a 7 Euro taxi ride. This place

Villa Belvedere would be perfect except that there is little public transportation to get to the Villa after 9:30 PM. Also the walk from the public bus stop is fairly far and uphill.

We fell in love with this wonderful hotel and the outstanding hospitality of our hosts and all the staff members during our 10 days stay. This is most probably the best choice if you are looking for a remote and cosy place that is still close (20' walking distance) to the city. If you are out for partying, need a large TV screen in the bedroom or a bar open until midnight you might want to select another place. But you would miss a first class scenic view, a beautiful garden and terrace, a decent breakfast and the cordial and authentic atmosphere of this jewel. Thanks again to everyone at Belvedere, you made our stay unforgettable and we will hopefully come back some day.

Excellent choice because we had a car and needed parking. Relaxing and expansive grounds with views across to the historic centre. We had a triple room for three adults which was both comfortable and spacious. The malfunctioning shower rose was a drawback and, for some, the location would not be ideal as it would be a 30-minute walk to reach the city centre. There is a bus service to the main station with a stop near the hotel.
