Great location very close to the station which is what we wanted.Market only steps away!On checking in the staff directed us to our room first then did our check in,which was great as we were a little tied from our trip. Our only problem was the constant loud music at night from the bar close to the hotel and the rooms were not very sound proof we could hear everything in the rooms around us!It would have been the perfect place to stay in Florence except fot that.

The Hotel Victor is a 10 minute walk from the train station thru crowded narrow streets. Our room had a/c which was enjoyed (outside temp reach 35*c. The refrigerator did not work, got extremely hot when plugged in.The continental breakfast was good and convenient. The reception and staff were very good and friendly. A self laundry, reasonably priced and quick, is located about 50 meters form the hotel. We walked to all of the tourist sites.

The room that was given to us was very small and moreover had no air-conditioning. In scorching heat of 40 degrees, it was impossible to stay in the room. On complaining to the reception, they just simply said that the air-condition is working and not to worry. But that was un-managable for the first night. Hence we requested to give us a different room where air-conditioning was working.

Nice area. Considerate staff. Had a few problems with the plumbing which put a sour note on our stay. I suspect it is abnormal for the hotel. Rooms a bit small. Were awakened in the night by someone talking in an adjacent room.

The room was spacious & clean. The door was not in good condition & some common toilet was just outside our room so it was rather noisy at night and I hade difficuilty to sleep. Breakfast was nice and the lady who was responsible for breakfast was very nice and helpful.

Good little hotel for travellers looking to stay for just a few days/nights in Florence. I arrived at the hotel and the receptionist was friendly and welcoming and found my reservation right away. Finding the room wasn't hard at all as the place is relatively small. One thing I will say about the rooms (and public areas in particular) is that they could REALLY use a little refurbishment. Most of the furniture was old and appears to have been there for a LONG time (ten to fifteen years - maybe more). The room TV for example, was a small fourteen inch CRT based set (not flat panel TFT based) and the remote given to me at the reception had seen better days. Also, the some of the paint work in the bathroom (along the ceilings) was starting to come off and there were notable cracks in one or two areas of the bedroom ceiling. Finally, the management of the hotel could consider replacing the light bulbs in the rooms with energy efficient ones (this could cut their electricity bills!) On the upside though, the hotel is well placed in the town centre with the market just around the corner and train station not very far away. Also, the noise level from the street was low and this allowed me to sleep well. The bed was also comfortable and the sheets were clean. All in all not a bad stay. My only other gripe was the price paid per night. At seventy euros, I might consider staying somewhere else if I return to the city. I also didn't like the fact that the hotel tried to charge me for breakfast on one day (I always went out for food) and for a number of phone calls that were apparently made from my room (I used my mobile).

I have never been to a hotel in Italy where you had to push a button on a machine in order to get a cup of coffee. There was an expresso machine there but we were told that we could not have that coffee because "it was to strong". Finally on our last day there we spoke with the man at the desk and were able to get a decent cup of coffee. My bathroom was ok but my travel companions had the bathrooms from hell. Small and when you took a shower, water everywhere. The rooms in the front were noisy. I won't be staying here again.

Floerence - This hotel received a low rating because we did not get much sleep. The hotel caters to youth groups and they run the halls all night. We stayed two nights and went through two different groups of young teens. Very frustating that the hotel did not do more to quiet them for the benefit of the other guests. Location is good for sightseeing and train station. Price is fair. Breakfast is ok. Next time would probably find a different hotel.

You get what you pay for here. Perfectly adequate hotel in Florence close to the station and main sites. The rooms are well used but they are clean and the staff is nice. Breakfast is good. The only problem I had was that they kept turning the AC off when we were out of the room. I know they want to save money and I can appreciate that but it was Florence in July and it was hot. I would stay here again.

Our stay at victoria hotel was reasonable. we happened to be there at the same time as girls only school excursion. so the girls made it very noisy. the room was great but the bathroom could do with a bit of work. the surroudning area is a bit fishy. if i was alone i would be uncomfortable walking there by myself at night. however its very close to train station and only 10 minute walk to the duomo. one piece of advice be careful when eating in restaurants they charge service and cover charge apprx. 2-3 euros each per person. thats the cost of one meal.

Fate i vostri conti. Sembra un dettaglio, diventerà un incubo.

We changed to another hotel after three nights. The plentiful ventilation fans in the back yard almost drove us crazy. I had asked for a quiet room away from traffic! For 130Eur a night, we had expected some kind of hotel-feeling, at least a public area to read a newspaper and have something to drink. This was a Bead and Breakfast hotel for young backpackers. Classification *** is definately wrong, as the prices were. Our 4 last nights we spent in a beautiful and quiet *** hotel in the neighbourhood. That made our stay in Florence a very good one.

Tipico albergo da zona stazione in una zona fortemente degradata dalla presenza di mercatini extracomunitari e non. Overall, Victoria hotel is a pretty good hotel, in a good location. The breakfast is very good: cornflakes, juices, hot beverages (including chocolate), an assortment of pastries, biscuits and desserts. Unfortunately there were no eggs or vegetables. Unlike the street side, the back side is quiet, however one can not open the window due to the smell from a nearby pizzeria chimney. The air-conditioning is not individually controlled since the hotel decides when to switch from cold air to heating regardless of the actual weather. The bathroom is modern and spacious but the bathtubs (unlike the showers) have no curtain to prevent from the water from splashing the surroundings. The splashed water then oozes to the bedroom which is lower.

The location of the hotel was tricky to find. Be prepared to pack lightly an take a LOT of stairs. Once we arrived, it was an incredible location. Not quite in town, but a relatively easy walk. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious but fairly minimal in decore. Since the hotel is quite inexpensive, I would recommend requesting a deluxe suit instead of a standard room to guarantee an amazing view...it is well worth it! And bring your earplugs... the roosters strike up early. The beach access is easy and the hotel has a far superior private beach compared to the one in town. The restaurants are good, but the included breakfast is minimal. overall, the place far exceeded our expectations, as we didn't expect much for the price. A great travel find!

The hotel was easy to find by car, but be prepared to have a very good map and an excellent driver:). The garage indicated on the webpage is just next to the hotel, very conveniently located but also very pricely (20 EUR a day while we were there). Alltogether the hotel is well worth the price we paid for even with the extra charges.

Hotel Victoria is literally 5 minutes walking distance from the train/bus station. It really was in such a convenient area- we walked to all of the sights in Florence from there. The flea market is around the corner. Restaraunts are open late in the square- all of them were great! We were there in the beginning of July it was so nice to be able to walk to everything! We loved it! The rooms are clean, no shower curtain in the bathroom- but all we cared about was having our bathroom w/shower ! A refrigerator, airconditioning and TV (nothing in English) but it server it's purpose. The staff was very friendly and informative. Not one complaint!

We had a very nice stay at Hotel Victoria. It's only a short walking distance from the train station and all the tourist attractions, specially the Central Mercado and shopping stalls! There are also some very good Tratorias on the same street, or just around the corner from the hotel. The only problem we had during our stay was the air-conditioning. We should have asked for more details how to control the settings on the remote. Then, one night, the A/C fuse must have blown and we woke up to a very warm room. Otherwise, nice facilities and very quiet room.

Florence hotels have a reputation for small and noisy rooms, flights of stairs to navigate with your luggage, and unhelpful staff. None of these were a problem at the Victoria Hotel where our room was spacious and quiet (although it was at the back away from the road), and where a lift allowed easy access to the upper floors. The location is ideal, close to both the railway station and the sights, and the staff are very friendly, albeit with limited English. When we needed to leave earlier than expected (for reasons unrelated to the hotel) the staff were very understanding and only charged us for the nights that we had stayed. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Victoria Hotel as a place to stay whilst visiting this beautiful city.

Although this is a basic hotel, you cant beat it for the price. The room was average size for Florence, very clean, with TV+air con but no views as you are in the city centre. It is just round the corner from the central market if you like bargains they have loads especially the leather goods. It is 5 minutes walk from the Duomo (amazing!) and the train station and about 15 mins to everything else. Overall a great little bargain and I would stay there again.

Good breakfast, in walking distance from the major sightseeings, clean enough but it could be cheaper for the services and facilities provided.

Reasonable hotel for couple days, good access to the historical part of Florence. Parking is a bit problematic, because of limited hotel garage.

This hotel has a very central location and is therefore a nice place to stay if you want to explore the city of Florence. Because the hotel is near to the Mercato Centrale the roads are quite noisy, but the airconditioning (with remote control!) brings fresh air into the room so you can keep the windows closed. The employees are friendly and do speak English. Overall this hotel is a good place to stay and worth the money.

Seemed much more than 100 meters from the central train station, probably closer to 700 meters, but still not too far. Located down the street from a shopping bazaar. Air conditioner was very powerful, highly recommended if you like a cold room on a hot day. Attendant walked us to the room, which was nice. Picture listed on venere.com with the view of the countryside is simply an al fresco - do not expect to actually have breakfast on the patio. Breakfast provided was average. We were able to easily extend our stay by one extra day directly through the hotel.

We had a good experience at Victoria. The price was good for the time we went. The street in front of the hotel is busy pretty much throughout the night, so it gets very noisy. The breakfast was GREAT. The lady serving it was VERY friendly and efficient. The location is VERY NICE too. ess what we paid for :-) Overall. ..RECOMMENDED. Will probably stay here again unless I get VERY rich somehow! :)

It was a pleasant stay. Considering what we have paid for a hotel in Rome, this was a very good value. The room was spacious and clean, though the hotel itself is bit dated. Only complain is a noise from outside - it seems the city of Florence cleans streets at night. We heard noises from street clearing around 11-12pm every night during our stay. I am not sure if the hotel has rooms facing courtyard, but if they do, ask for one.

The hotel, although it's been remodeled, it needs a little bit more work.

A great location, an easy walk from the train station. Breakfast was good, and lots of great restaurants nearby. A great base at a reasonable price for a Florence vacation.

The rooms were very tidy and clean. The bed sheets and towels were changed after our first night at the hotel. The capuccino for breakfast was excellent. The staff at the reception and in the breakfast area wasn't smiling too much and wasn't very friendly (partially because they could speak hardly any English), which was a downer. Other than that I got far better value for my money than at a more expensive hotel in Rome the next night.

Noisy and dirty rooms. A bad smell from the surrounding areas. A/c was not turn on and this made things worst. I had to move down the same street apying a small difference ( To Hotel Corona) with more than double service and cleaniness. Too expensive for the room ans should be at most a 2 star hotel. Would avoid this Hotel at all posible.

I have only one complain. We payed 2 x 144 Euro per night for two double rooms, and my brother could walk in from the street and rent a 4 bed room for 110 Euro per night. But we had accepted the price in advange so it didn't spoil our stay at Victoria
