Located just in Piazza Santa Maria Novella, very close to the station and a short walk to all tourist attractions. My room was basic, but quiet and clean. They provide toiletries only the first day (I stayed 4 nights), so you have to save your soap... and I didn't meet the staff because they are only present from 9 to 6. Generally a place to recommend if your objective is sightseeing or if you need to travel by train or bus.

I stayed 3 nights at the Tourist House. The location of the hotel is quite good, easy to reach the train and bus station also close to the center. Just one point to be improved for the shared bathroom, hot water is not that stable and it's slow for the sewer to drain.

No heat, and every day the desk person would say it was fixed. still would wake up to take a shower in a very cold room. Also only had hot water in the room about 4 of the 11 days U was there, at least in the morning when you really want it. for some reason, the hot water boiler would work in the afternoon until they replaced it. Woke up morning of departure at 6 am to a cold room and not hot water. Have to give them credit though when I call the emergency number that did come over and give me access to a room that had hot water - seems there are two boiler systems.

An ideal place for those wanting to enjoy the old centre of Florence, a few minutes walk from any historic attraction. We were there during the caldo, the heatwave in August 2011, and found the air conditioning an absolute necessity. The rooms (we had two, on separate visits) are charmingly done, with four-poster beds and antique furniture

Nobody at the reception when I entered. I had to wait 15 minutes for an unfriendly woman. No breakfast availabal. Room Nr. 10b is as clean as possible but more a boxroom than a room to relax. Nighttime was a horrortrip because of the music from the next hotel. Also nobody at the reception when I left. So there was no possibility to put my luggage in the lockroom. All together: a clean place for undemanding peoples, usefull for max. 1 night (better than a night on the road). First I wanted to stay 1 night more but thanks God, I didn't.

Great value! Our stay included breakfast and given the service, privacy and amenity we paid little more than one would for a hostel. Location was close enough to main sights but far enough away for a quiet/peaceful stay. 2 minute walk to train station made it easy to arrive and leave. Staff was kind and courteous. All in all a great find!

My room was one of two singles that share a bathroom, which was no problem at all except that our doors and the locks on them were very noisy to the person in the other room. The area where the internet connection was available was very small.

The place is immaculate. The staff is polite. The rooms are big and clean and are cleaned daily as well. I didn't have breakfast there but I ate at all the caves around and they were all very good. The location is perfect especially if your coming into Santa Maria novella as it's about a 3 minute walk. It's about ten minutes or so to virtually everything in the historic part of the city. Awesome value!!

Overall great experience. Our room was huge, beautiful and clean. Best yet since our stay in Europe. Price was fantastic! Close to everything. Owners/mgrs. met us at 10pm when our train came in. First night, had some noisy guests down the hall, but no fault of hotel and other than that, quiet as a mouse. Stayed a total of 4 nights. highly recommend

We spent 6 nights in the hotel with my elder relatives. The room was very spacious, the bathroom was long and narrow. The towels were changed and the room was cleaned every day. My aunt did not like the bed. You get a key also to the front door because it is closed at 6 pm. Everything you have to know is written on the wall around the reception desk. The breakfast room is small and it has a small and lovely outdoor terrace to the inner yard. The breakfast consists of the so called Italian style breakfast (tea, coffee, croissant, jam, butter, etc.) WiFi is free. The staff is friendly. We enjoyed the stay at this hotel, it was quiet and clean and loved its authentic athmosphere. Sometimes we heard the bells ringing from the very close Santa Maria Novella church.

I have been there for 3 nights, they arrange us in a double room. Beneath the window in the street there have a bar, as a result very noisy in the night. We asked to change room, they promised us at first, but no action. The cleanliness the staff provide is not good, we can found hairs on the bed when we arrived at first night. The location is very convenient, just between the railway station and city sighting places. Our price is quite cheap and include breakfast. Breakfast is quite good for this price.

The welcoming was very warm. The hotel is small, but very clean. The room was OK, with central heating and a very clean bathroom (excellent towels). The only problem we had was because of the Cantinetta Wine Bar next to the hotel, due to the fact that they listened a lot of lout music until late at night. We complained in writing, and the receptionist explained us that they also had problems in the past with such wine bar. Anyway, our stay at this hotel was almost perfect and we are very content - the relation price-quality is great. We would stay there again and we recommend it to all tourists interested in travelling to Florence.

Very nice and clean B&B, the girls at the reception were really nice and the room was clean, big and well furnished. Bathroom was also excellent. Breakfast was good, we really enjoyed our stay. Every "must-see" spot in Florence is within a 10-15 min walk, position is optimal and near the main train station as well. The only "con" was a nearby club playing music till late.

Nice property with windows (of most rooms) to the yard. So it is quiet (unless there is party at the pool in the yard). Excellent location to come by train and then walk to the main tourist attractions. Rooms with shared facilities are really small and with low ceiling, shower cabin really tiny! Staff was pleasant and helpful, breakfast is Ok (no yogurts, ham, cheese or fruits as usually in Italy).

Tourist House was decent but my welcoming was very unprofessional. When we arrived and got settled into our room I couldn't get the TV to turn on. I informed Cristina at the reception and she rudely followed me to my room saying, "you have to push the RED button, anyway all the channels are in Italian". Well, I did push the red button and nothing. I can speak Italian at an intermediate level and I want to watch TV, period. She comes into the room and pushes one of the many GREEN buttons on the remote. I say, "Oh so its the GREEEN button", and she nods her head. No big deal...right? But...as she leaves the room she stops at the door way and tells me, "anyway the remote is from America, you need to be more..." and stops herself! I need to be more what? The remote was one from the 60s and I told her that remotes in America look nothing like this! Whatever her issue was, she needs to be a bit more professional when welcoming paying guests. Other than that, she was nice once we checked out. You can get better for the same money such as Hotel Aurora (where breakfast IS included), across the street from SMN train station.

A convenient location to the train station, decent breakfast with a croissant and cappuccino, and nice desk staff. Downsides were a small, dark room with no in-room sink, and the smallest shower enclosure in the shared bathroom I encountered in Italy--I'm on the small side at 5'5" and 130 lbs and could barely move in it.

Convenient location, close to the train station. We had a very spacious room, even with four beds! Fairly quite. Furniture and lighting in the room were bare minimum. The bathroom is small in comparison. I did not like the thin tower - like bed sheets. Breakfast was OK. Hot-water in out room was broken on arrival at 7PM, which was fixed after 3hr+. We late found ants in the bathroom :-<

My parents and I had a wonderful stay. The pictures in the internet does not do justice on how nice and clean the place is. We were very satisfied with the ladies that worked at the front desk. They were very friendly and helpful at all times. They made sure you had a map of the city and every morning they were ready with your breakfast. Great Service! The location was very close to the train station and a walking distance to all the main spots of the city. The rooms were clean, spacious and it provided you with everything you needed. A good place for tourists; the room was confortable and clean; it is good if you can go to sleep very late and wake up later: the b&b is just over a pub, and clients and owner seem not matter about quietness in late night; unfortunately I was travelling for job, and could not afford this luxury...

My room was located right behind a few cafes so it's extremely busy at night. You need a good pair of earplugs for your sleep. The room was spacious and reasonably clean. The reception area was a hassle when you have to drag your trolley suitcase to a lengthy staircase. The staff were very helpful though.

The facility was advertised as a "hotel" but was more like a hostel. I wasn't met by anyone at the front. There was no one available to help me with my heavy suitcase up the stairs, or down when I checked out. The room I was given was very bare bones for the money. The towels were more like large tablecloths or dish towels; thin, non-absorbent, and stiff. It was like drying off with sandpaper. There was no place to set my suitcase except the floor. Also, even though I asked for assistance with the telephone, the staff did not explain to me that I would still be charged for use of the phone even though I was using a prepaid calling card, and I was shocked to get a bill for 20 Euros when I checked out. Beware, the rates for using their phone are very, very high. I wouldn't stay there again. I think better accommodations could be had for the same money elsewhere.

Our stay was "sufficient". It was a clean room with breakfast included. Nothing fancy but adequate. I wouldn't say it was worth what we paid. It is not in the greatest location in Florence. The piazza area is quite run down. It is a convenient walk to the train station if you plan on taking day trips from Florence. On the Saturday night of our stay, there was music blairing all night and it sounded like the building had been converted to a disco. People gathered in the piazza for partying, so it was quite loud. There's not much greeting or friendly atmosphere here. It's more like a low grade motel than a bed and breakfast.

No creo q repitamos.

Paid a little more than I had wanted but was very happy with the room we got. Room was huge and very clean, bed comfortable too. Service was really good, both checking in and at breakfast. The only negative thing I can report on is the noisy woman who lives upstairs and has a tendency to walk around in high heels at 2am most evenings but we didn't notice it everynight thankfully. Location was great, even though we were real close to the station and piazza our room was real quiet - ask for room 6 which is at the back as I heard one of the other guests complain about the bar downstairs from her roadside room at the front. I'll definitely stay there again when back in Florence.

Nice place with wonderful and helpful staff who contributed to making my stay pleasurable. The location is ideal...walking distance to everything. It worked out well for me because of its proximity to the train station. However, this place was noisier that what I expected based on my internet research. I had a garden facing room, but still heard nearby bar goers singing all night and banging on tables. My room also had a distracting noise which went off every few minutes and sounded like a toilet flushing. The room was comfortable and very spacious, but small details were not attended to in the bathroom (i.e. missing towels). Florence is expensive, so for the money, this is probably a good deal and a nice, safe place. Overall, I definitely recommend it.

The hotel location was excellent! Very close to the train station and the Santa Maria Novella (very beautiful and interesting church). However, the price was very high for the standard of room. The beds were comfortable and clean but the floor is very old and needs to be replaced. The bathroom is very narrow. The window shutters could not be opened so the room was dark. The breakfast was very good and the hotel entrance and breakfast room are very attractive. If the rooms were remodeled the same, this price would seem much more reasonable. I could not find anything less expensive, so this may be the going rate for Florence?

This hotel is adequate in terms of facilities for budget travelers, with a good sized room and unbeatable location. It is a bit dank and noisy, however, and feels overpriced. On its own, that would make for a fair review. However, this hotel screwed up our reservation through its own failures of communication and kicked us out early, having rented our room to someone else. This almost ruined our trip, and certainly caused much undue stress and frustration. This hotel, frankly, does not have its act together, and its level of professionalism is low. Skip if you can find alternatives.

The staff upon arrival and throughout our stay was very friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out were very easy and smooth and the price quoted on the web-site and in our confirmation was exactly what we were charged...no hidden costs or anything. The rooms were simple, yet comfortable and very spacious with private bath. Location was also excellent...within walking distance to the train station and many of the major downtown sights and museums. Would definitely recommend to someone going to Florence who dosen't want to spend a ton on a room yet wants a place that is comfortable and conventient.

The location was excellent for train travel, be careful though or you could walk past it. The room we stayed in was the largest on our travels (but not the most expensive!) The terrace and reception area was small but adequate. If you want a convenient central location, prefer a clean, quiet room at a reasonable rate, this is the place you should try.

The fotos do absolutely not represent the quality or the look of the rooms. The foto of the room in the internet is done with a wide lens from the smallest room available. the bed fills the room practically, the bathroom must be shared with another room. The terrasse is so petite that you can maybe place 3 (!) tables on this place. Actually there were not any tables placed on the terrasse to sit outside. The hotel is mostly made of a small hallway with a tiny reception at your left, rooms at your right. Not a cosy place at all, and the pictures really misleading.
