Perfect position close to the central station and main turistic places. Room nice and warm. We had a nice stay. We booked the room for a very low price, so couldn't be more happy to find a so good room and very kind staff.

Hotel Souvenir is NOT a bed and breakfast. It is simply a place that has a bed. Although the room was clean, I was very disappointed in the quality of the hotel.

The hotel is well positioned and is its only advantage. The person who welcomes you is not courteous at all and goes until your departure, and without even opening the night (we had to ring twice at the under Hotel). The rooms are dirty (mold, shower not cleaned, dust and so on), noisy and old (mattress sinks in the middle, fridge and TV are broke). This hotel is definitely a leak!

Well, staying here was an experience. After asking to change to a room with a bath, I was taken to another location connected to this B&B, another converted apartment -- or partially converted apartment. The room was basic. No A/C -- a record heatwave didn't help. 3rd floor walk-up. Still, convenient and it is in Florence.

I was appalled at the hotel. The filth was so unbelievable. I only saw the guy that ran the place one time when I arrived. Never had anyone at the desk in the 7 days I stayed. People were smoking, there was no toilet paper or soap in the bathrooms, the curtains were all torn in the room and I never had a warm shower. DISGUSTING! I have traveled all over the world and this was the worst!

Overall, not bad at all ! even if sharing the bathroom was not always easy. The staff was really nice understanding and helpful. Location of the hotel was great and at the corner of the street you have a great great bar to get your breakfast from... 4 euros for the buffet... you can't beat that !

Good for the price. Had troubles sleeping, mostly because of heavy traffic outside and uncomfortable bed. Shower in room was nice but the shower itself wasn't - the water would take ages to run off and the wooden standing plate was mouldy. Shared bathrooms could be a lot cleaner but overall was ok. The service was very kind and accomodating. Very close to center of city, only a short walk to the interesting places.

Pros- location, price, shower in the room. Cons- noise level, no a/c, flimsy doors, and staff is non-existent. The location is great it is about a ten minute walk from the train station to the hotel. It is about another ten minute walk to the art gallery Accademia. The price was also good for the time of year and location. They had a brand new "space capsule" style shower in our room that was helpful, but to use the bathroom you had to go down the hall. The downside to this hotel is that it sits next to one of the busiest streets in Firenze at night. If the weather is good and you can close the window I imagine it's not the big a problem, but for July in the heat it was unbelievably loud. The other problem is the doors to the room are hard to get the hang of and someone could kick the door down easily. The clientele seems to be young people looking for a cheap room. We did see a pimp waiting for his lady to come out of one of the rooms in the hall a few times. Also, the staff is never their, we were able to check-in only because the maid happened to be around and she spoke no english. She tried to be helpful, but they really need to have some sort of staff at the front desk. If you have to check-in at night or in the afternoon good luck. There is absolutely no security, and you have to walk up three flights of stairs. When we did manage to use the lift once when it was working a lady came out of one of the rooms in the hallway (I got the feeling that some of them were houses or apartments mixed in with floors of hotels) and started screaming at us in Italian, I didn't catch all of it, but it had something to do with us using the lift. When we checked-out again no one was there so we had to leave the key on the counter. If you don't mind any of the above problems then the place is OK and the price is right.

Wonderful stay, very generous owner. It was like having your own little place in Florence. Staff are out of the way. Price is very reasonable and rooms were spacious with fridge, safe and TV. Was given free upgrade from single room to double room. Would advise others to certainly call ahead to ensure access to rooms.

NO HO FEU!!!!!!!

The hotel was difficult to find without memorising how the entrance looked. The lift was not in operation because "the owners sick mother needed to use it" which meant a four flight climb with heavy bags. No high-speed OR Wi-Fi Internet connection despite claims. Friendly greeting. Good location and charming neighborhood.

When booking the hotel we advised that we would not arrive until midnight. When we arrived at the hotel the door downstairs was locked, luckily some other residents came and let us in. Then once inside, the reception was closed and we had to go outside to find a telephone and phone the afterhours number and ask for someone to come and check us in. There was no-one on reception for the entire weekend. Although the room was clean, it was only suitable for 2 people and not 3 (which was in our party) and the location very central, I would not recommend this hotel because of our problems when we arrived, also because there was no reception for our entire stay.

Lift doesnt always work, SO if you arrive late (10-11pm) you will be struggling taking suitcases upstairs to the 4th floor; You also have to wait 10 min untill cold water turns into hot. And if you will be lucky - it will. Staff is friendly and gives you lots of useful info. Not always you will find croussans in the place in the morning. There is a beatiful view from the roof terrace, so you can enjoy it. Better to take room which overviews inside garden - so nice in the morning! Overall - 50/50 impression.

There is a lift but the guests cannot use. It is very heavy and difficult to lug the luggage for 5 flights of stairs. Breakfast was pathetic. I rather have a cheaper accomodation with no breakfast as in the end we went to a cafe nearby for breakfast. I've got a Euro50 a night in Rome and it was better.

The room itself was very nice, and the staff very friendly, if you can find them around, because once we checked in, they were rarely around. The two nights we stayed there, not once was our rooms cleaned while we were out. We came back to a room with the bed unmade, the trash bins spilling out, and the dirty towels unchanged. When we ran out of toilet paper, we had to "steal" some from the toilet in the hall because there was no one at the front desk to ask for some. The first morning, they forgot to put out the breakfast, so we had to go out and get some on the corner cafe. We were also surprised that they did not have any soap in the bathroom. We had to go and buy some.
