Hotel Silla - Florence

We liked the hotel very much.

We loved the location of the hotel, in an artists' section on the left bank, away from the noise and crowds of central Florence, but only about a ten minutes' walk from the Uffizi. The bedroom and bathroom were rather small but clean and well maintained. The management reserved us tickets for the Uffizi at no charge. The young man at the reception was really unusually friendly and helpful, and spoke English quite well. We were pleasantly surprised at the generous breakfast buffet in the wonderfully pretty roof garden. We paid €150 which was no bargain, but from what we understand was within the expected range for Florence.

Unfortunately all floors are tiled and therefore you can hear every foorstep. The double door to the hallway was removed during the recent renovation. And the rooms to the back street suffer from the canyoning effect. A perfect hotel for people not sensitive to noise.

Room rather small, street noise non negligable. Proximity to Ponte Vecchio is a big plus. Also: Very friendly and helpful staff.

Hotel Silla and their staff were very accomodating to our needs during our three day stay in Florence. Free internet service provided. Breakfast very nice. Hotel is along the Arno, near Ponte Vecchio and within short walking distance of major attractions and many nice restaurants. Only recommendation: would like better lighting in room; bathroom is clean and well-lit.

We were offered a more spacious room but the smell was not ok. The bathroom in our room was poor and very small, bed lining good, no carpets in our room. Beatiful sight from the window just over Arno river, but noise from the Lungarno street quite disturbing. Nice people in the hotel, yet not informed about scheduled bus passages.

The hotel was on excellent location on the other side of the Arno river. The staff were extremely friendly. Our room was small but always clean. In all, I think this hotel was the perfect three star hotel. And we'll be definitely back.

A great location with only a small park between the hotel and the river, and only a short walk to Ponte Vecchio. We walked everywhere from the hotel, including up to the Piazelle Michaelangelo for a great night view over the city. We left our car in the hotel garage - very safe.

This was the first time we had stayed at Hotel Silla. My husband, myself and our son stayed for one night. A car is useful as the hotel is located some distance from the town. Parking is in the hotel grounds. The staff were very helpful, especially Florentina.View is wonderful. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Hotel Silla is in an excellent location south of the river within easy access of the town and close to a small local selection of bars & restaurants. The staff spoke excellent English and were charming. Having breakfast on the terrace made an excellent start to the day.

The rooms were extremely large, bath rooms large, we had three rooms all were very large, two were like apartments and had a separate room with an extra bed. They set up tours and ordered museum tickets for me. They answered all e-mails promptly. Breakfast on the terrace or inside was wonderful, fresh fruit, coffee bar with service, eggs, cereal, yougert, baked goods etc. Even though it is across the Arno, you can walk to everything or taxi's are cheap. The benefit of being away from the center of town is the nights are quiet for sleeping. We, my family of six adults, were all very pleased and will definetely stay at Silla next time. Darlene Huet

The location is quite nice. Riverside, quiet, just the foot of Piazza Michelangelo , 5min walk to Ponte Vecchio. The building looks aged but interior is clean and comfortable. Big garage for car traveler for free of charge.

Great location in Florence. Hotel was adequate in every way although a little drab. Hotel was great in communicating with us about reservations for museums etc.
