Fine hotel for our family of 3. Great location. Only a very short walk over to train station even with luggage. Room was a decent size, bathroom too. Warm heat even though Firenze was cold when we visited. Hotel was a little old, but it was quaint. Staff was friendly when needed and breakfast was just what we wanted to start our days. Grazie!

I have stayed at San Giorgio three times in single rooms and although they are not large they are very adequate. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The position of the hotel is great 100 metres from Santa Maria Novella station and a 5 minute stroll from the duomo.

Excellant location as can walk to see the Duomo, and Uffizi gallery (the queues are long so either buy tickets in advance or go early). We spent 2 days in Florence. From hotel 5 minutes walk to train station. Can also go to Rome from Florence (but would need at least 3 days there). The Quad room (1 double bed and 2 single's) is excellant, good size room and bathroom.

The concierges were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. They recommended some great restaurants and arranged for our tickets to the Uffizi gallery. The bed was comfortable but the bathroom was pokey and the carpets weren't cleaned. It was a great location but hard to find.

First time in Florence. Flew easy jet to Pisa then coach taking just over 1 hour (coach 10 euros each). Tip to find San Giorgio - only 3 minutes walk from rail station/coach drop -turn right out of rail station to first road junction & see the large Majestic Hotel on corner on the right and cafe with Rose in name (can't remember exact name) on the left. San Giorgio is 50metres up the street on the left between these two landmarks! Easily accessible to popular Florence tourist spots (& a good indoor market up same street as hotel on the left)

The hotel was average given the location. The room was small as expected but ok. The interior of the room is a bit run down. The paint on the wall seem to be peeling here and there. Kinda hard to see cause of the dim lighting. But if you spent the hold day running around and just shower and sleep in the room, than it'll be alright. The shower set-up is a bit different. Need a little getting use to. Overall, it is a ok. The daily breakfast provide is good.

My wife & I had a nice time at San Giorgio. The staff very helpful in booking & organising tours, were courteous and friendly. Given the price, the breakfast was very good. Given the proximity to the rail station, our room was well insulated and very quite. The hotel is close enough to most of the sights of note in Fierenze that we spent most days walking top our desination(s). My above ratings reflect take into account the cost of accomodation.

It's very convenient that the hotel is near the station for moving with luggage. The hotel is O.K as a budget choice but don't expect too much, it feels a bit spartan. Florence is small enough that nothing is too far away, so location is fine. The hotel breakfast is poor because the breads etc are not very fresh. The staff are not very friendly, clearly just working for money not love. The bed is hard which we didn't mind but some might. There's quite a lot of noise in the mornings, you would find it hard to lie in, but you're probably there to get up and see the sights. The room is basic, adequate, and the bathroom reasonably spacious. The TV has lots of Italian channels. The hotel is cheap when you consider it's a City location.

A "standard" hotel in many respects and I don't mean it as an insult - clean, comfortable and everything worked fine. Very convienient for the railway station. Staff friendly and helpful. Bathroom could do with non-slip tiles putting down and some sharp edges being removed from tiles around the toilet but this is a minor gripe. Would be happy to stay there again, good value for price and a very useful location near all main sights. Certainly did the job for us!!

The hotel was clean and had a bathroom and air conditioning, elevator was available which helped. The bed was very uncomfortable but clean. The location of this hotel was right next to the train station and down the street from the central market in Florence. The price was a good quality for the location and room. Not sure if I would stay again, I may look around and pay a little bit more and upgrade to the next level.

The hotel was close to all tourist places in Florence allowing us to walk everywhere. It was close to public transport, shops, markets, restaurants, museums and other sites. The room was large however quite basic. The staff was helpful. Breakfast was included which quite substantial (no extra charge). With payment of the room by credit card, we were charged in our own currency rather than the Euro which was helpful and avoided extra charges. In full, the hotel satisfied our needs.

The room and bathroom where quite clean although the last one was very small. Continental breakfast is good enough. Hot water availability was haphazard and inconsistent. Very little soap was provided and seldom replenished. The air-conditioning did not operate continuously. There seemed to be a stale (perhaps sewage-related) smell in the room at times. The corridor access to the room was extremely dark (difficult to locate the key in the lock). On the positive side, San Giorgio was the only facility that provided us with a bathtub, the room was more spacious than most and the public areas were execptionally maintained.

Travleing with a college friend, I found this hotel to be great as far as affordability and quality of stay. The location of the hotel was wonderful since it was so close to the train terminal. Breakfast was very slow, because of too few staff. We had a fire alarm at 2am one night while we were there and the one member of staff on duty didn't seem in control of the situation. Location of hotel convenient, but poor value for money, even given the fact that it was in Florence. Would not stay there again.
