exterior
The hotel Rivoli, is excellently located in the historic centre of Florence, 250 metres from the Santa Maria Novella railway station and the exhibition and congress centre of the city. All the main monuments walking distance: the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizi gallery, the church of Santa Maria Novella and the academy of fine arts with its renowned statue of David by Michelangelo.
The hotel is a Franciscan convent dating back from the 15th century which has been restored to its unique splendour. Throughout the hotel, the classic ceilings, cross vaults, stone arches and pillars all add to its character.
The style and charm of the public area combine perfectly with the elegant and modern rooms, most overlooking the patio and internal garden, where guests can enjoy the large whirlpool jacuzzi heated to a temperature of 35°c all year round.
Just 100 metres from the hotel Rivoli guests have the free use of a fully equipped gym.

convenient location (5 minites from the train station),quiet street, beautiful garden, very friendly and helpful staff. We like this hotel very much, it was the best hotel we stayed this trip in Italy, would definitely stay there next time to Florence.

Rivoli is well located, about 7 minutes walk from the main railway station and less than 10 minutes from the center of the old town. It was the best hotel we have stayed at in Italy or Spain, truly deserving of its 4 stars.

chose this hotel from previous feedbacks and wasn't disappointed. As they say .. 'it did what it said on the tin.' I would definately recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed our nice room with terrace at Hotel Rivoli. It was perfect for our purpose (close to Pisa airport bus terminal and very convenient for local public transport) and shall be glad to return there on any future occasion. Staff extremely kind and helpfull.

Great value for money. Friendly hotel staff that have plenty of information to offer about the city. Rooms are clean and spacious. Jacuzzi offers a nice way to relax after sight seeing. Hotel also has a nice garden terrace. Would definatley recommend this hotel.

Our stay at the Rivoli was a pleasant one while visiting our daughter at the University. Service staff was friendly and helpful. The location for the price was very good. If you need to connect to trains or buses this hotel is a good option. Easy 10-15 min. walk to the heart of the city. Air quality in the room was a bit poor at times. This was are only negative.

The Rivoli was excellent for our 4 night stay in Florence, only 5 minutes from the railway/bus station and just a short walk away from all the sights, staff were friendly, comfy bed and excellent breakfast, take a swimming costume to use the beautiful outdoor jacuzzi, even in october it looked inviting, I didn't and regretted it Our room overlooked the enclosed garden and jacuzzi and was lovely Make sure you visit the Branacci Chapel and Santa Croce and take a walk to San Miniato and Piazza Michelangelo for spectacular views We used the Terravision bus from Pisa airport to Florence which was straight forward and good value and travelled by train back to Pisa which also was easy and cheap, had one night in Pisa to see the sights and be close to the airport for the flight back, worked out very well, recommend the Bologna in Pisa for a short stay

The hotel is close enough to the station (less than 5 minutes' walk) to mean that you can use the Rivoli as a centre for seeing Tuscany. Yet five minutes or so in the opposite direction takes you to all the sites of Florence. The added bonus of an outdoor jacuzzi, and two quiet gardens made the hotel ideal for our stay. We were upgraded to a room with a very large terrace overlooking the central courtyard / jacuzzi / garde, at no extra cost. Breakfast was undoubtedly the best that we have had in Italy, both in terms of the variety of food on offer and the facility to enjoy it outside if we felt like it. Plenty of good restaurants within 10 minutes walk. A wonderful stay, we would certainly return to the Rivoli in future.

this is a very cosy hotel with a nice inner garden and a very good breakfast for Italy. The hotel is well situated - almost everything can be done by foot. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed it very much.

Hotel very well located to city center, walking distance. Nice quiet relaxing stay. I stayed at a peak period and found the city center shops/restraunts can be very expensive. €3.50 for 0.5litre still water not unusual.

The Rivoli is an easy walk from the train station. It is a great location for touring Florence. The staff was helpful and the facilities were great. There is a nice public area for drinks in the evening. Breakfast was poor. But most breakfasts in Italian hotels are poor in our opinion. We would stay at this hotel again.

We were at the Rivoli for 10 days. It's a lovely place, pleasant garden spaces with comfortable seating. Breakfast was fine. The first room offered was cramped and dark, but when we refused it, we were offered a perfectly lovely one overlooking the atrium. That sort of thing happens in hotels often, so I wouldn't hold it against the Rivoli, but if you don't like the room, do ask to see another. The jacuzzi provided a soothing midday break and revived us to go back out and search for our dinner. There's enough activity on the street to make coming and going even at late hours feel comfortable. We were very happy with the Rivoli.

The staff at the Rivoli was friendly and fun. The commons areas need some updating, they have become quite run-down. The rooms were a bit noisy, we could hear every person on the stairs/elevator. The biggest problem, was the FLIGHT (not a few) of stairs you nedd to drag your luggage up to get to the lobby! The breakfast on the roof was lovely, the location is excellant.

This was a first-rate hotel, well-located (5 min. walk from the Duomo), and staffed by knowledgeable, competent people. We enjoyed our stay there and would gladly return on future visits.

Access to a gym and the whirlpool are free, and were excellent, but I missed them in the advertising! A welcome bonus! Air conditioning very intrusive. When it came on it was "reach for your hat time"!

Noisy cooling system in the room did not cool us. There was continuous noise outside in the mid night, probably related to famous jagzee.

The Rivoli offered a quiet courtyard room which had a balcony overlooking garden and pool. Excellent choice of breakfast items. It was in a wonderful location, but because of one way streets, it was difficult to reach, since we did not know the city.

The hotel is situated very close to all the local attractions, along the street where the hotel is situated is a fantastic restaurant which us run by the brother of one of the bar staff in the hotel. Cant recall the name exactly but it's something like Crocodillo? The hotel overall was clean and friendly and in my opinion offered very good value for money. The only downside would be the noise levels as it is situated on a busy street, but they have tried to rectify this with double windows which keeps out the noise, it worked on our room, but not in our friends room, so guess it's luck of the drawer.

We usually stayed at Hotel Aprile a tre stelle near Hotel Rivoli a quattro stelle. This is our first stay and we feel it not-expensive for a four-star hotel. We booked three double rooms which seemed a little smaller than we considered. Thank you.
