Hotel Rex - Florence

- Although we book a double, we were initially provided a very small twin room and had to protest to obtain the reserved double room. Rocco at the front desk lacked charm and double checked our booking (despite what our copy of the reservation said) - Roberto at the front desk was a very helpful man. - The maids and restaurant ladies were also very helpful - Hotel is overpriced. - Breakfast is a poor selection for the cost - Location is very good

Excellent location. Great staff, but the room we were staying in was quite depressing. The room had one small window which was hidden away, hence its existence made no difference.

Hotel Rex is a excellent and confortable option,very centric,secure,serius,and good American Breakfast in the morning,decoration nice,very cleanliness,good assensor,nice personal employees.The reality in thes hotel REX is super nice,The photographs is not good,TKs hotel Rex.Florence is a very nice City.Atte Guadalupe Valtierra and family.

L'hotel è in posizione centralissima rispetto al duomo, saranno meno di 200 metri!!! Le camere sono pulite anche se un pò piccoline (a 10 cm dal letto c'era la porta del bagno!!!) Purtroppo ci hanno dato una camera con la finestra che dava sul cortile interno del palazzo dove si sentivano gli odori delle cucine di un ristorante del piano terra. Non abbiamo potuto lasciare le finestre aperte per vie di questi odori!!! Comunque le stanze sono pulite e dotate di ogni comfort (aria condizionata, minibar, bagno con vasca). Il prezzo non è male considerata la sua posizione, poco distante dalla stazione e poco distante dal duomo!!!

The room was so small and dark that I stayed.

Positive impressions: - Hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful. -- Breakfast was quite good. - The hotel is located very close to the city center (walking distance). - The hotel can issue a temporary car pass (you have to enter within the prohibited traffic area) to get close to the hotel and download the luggage. ........................................................................................... Negative impressions: - The hotel is very old and needs serious maintenance. - The room was not as clean as it should be, but sheets were acceptable. - The bathroom was dirtier than the room, with broken tiles and shouting for maintenance. The door of the bathroom could not be closed... - The room was equipped with a small window that looked to an inner space with no sunlight. The window was very hard to open or close. - The hotel does not have a parking space. You have to find one for yourself: there is one very close to the hotel (~25 €/day). ....................................................... This hotel may be best suited for single travelers, couples or business travelers.

After a night in room 107 which was quite small without a functioning air conditioning and much darker compared to what I had expected from the photos on the webpage, I changed to a room with a window facing the front side (street). This was bigger and a bit lighter. After all, the change of room was unproblematic and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast is nice compared to other facilities in Italy. I would recommend the place, also because of its very central location, but try to avoid the small rooms facing the back.

Hotel contains clean and well-equiped rooms surrounded with cozy atmosphere at the center of the city. Breakfast is pretty good but the coffe is realy excelent. so close to the all arrond. The only negativity is some rooms are not in regular size, if you are traveling alone.

We found this accommodation to be very disappointing. It was located on a busy street, filled with motorscooters and across from a popular bar which stayed open late and discharged noisy patrons who "hung around" and chatted loudly. There was no hot water available due to a plumbing problem which was eventually fixed by the evening of our second day in Florence. We felt pretty grundgy by then. The hotel would make a price accommodation to reflect this deficiency. Needless to say, we would not stay there again nor recommend it.

Hotel Rex is clean, affordable and comfortable. The people are very nice and helpful. My friend and I took an overnight trip from Florence and they held our suitcases with no problems and had a room ready for us when we got back. The rooms are clean and spacious. The bathroom was also very clean. The location is very central.

This hotel has a pub located across the street, but it wasn't wasn't too bad as long as the windows remained closed.

We were terribly dissappointed by this hotel. It was by far the most expensive one we stayed at in Italy and by far the least enjoyable. Our room was cramped -- my husband kept hitting his head on the passageway to the bathroom.It was also extremely dark. The only light came in from a small window overlooking a small "courtyard" which was actually a pigeon-infested hole with bird droppings running down the side of the building. It was disgusting! And the noise between the birds early in the morning and the other guests late at night was sleep-depriving. I definitely would NOT recommend this hotel.

Bathrooms extremely small. Prices 50 % increased as compared to website information

Very poor maintenance in the rooms meant the shower flooded, the exhaust fan was exceptionally noisy and the sink plug did not work. This detracted from the overall stay.

Hotel is well-located, room was clean and maid service was good. Not the friendliest people, however.
