Hotel Residence Grifone - Florence

Breakfast was poor of vegetables and warm meal

Un endroit idéal pour qui veut découvrir Florence. Ni trop près, ni trop loin du centre. Endroit calme et excellent petit déjeuner. Un posto ideale per chi vuole andare alla scoperta di Firenze. Ne troppo vicino, ne troppo lontano del centro città. Posto quieto e ottima prima colazione.

Room very quiet. Nothing particularly.

It has not internet connection. So as we stayed on a weekend it was impossible to get access.

This hotel was about 15 minute bus ride from the city centre.

The Grifone was a modern hotel on the outer edge of Florence. While it is a modern hotel with relatively large rooms, the major drawback is the distance from the center of Florence and the extremely crowded bus system that connects the hotel to the center. The bus ride is about 20 minutes and is very very busy at just about all times. I think that next time I might try and find a place closer to the center. The Grifone, however offered a very good price for what can otherwise be a very expensive area. The breakfast in the morning is minimal but sufficient and free. I would recommend easting out instead of at the bar in the hotel. The rooms have wireless internet, but you have to pay for a certain amount of active time. Check in and out were smooth and the staff knew English.

This is the first time in Italy. don´t miss any opportunity to visit this lovely country.

The hotel was much harder to access than advertised, and the hotel didn't give any specific or useful instructions on how to get there. It was complicated to get to our room (they gave us a key chain with 6 keys, we had to change elevators!) The bathroom was not perfectly clean. The hotel was really overpriced for what it offered.

Never, never again !! Very angry !!! Our room in the "dependance" was so small, you could not open the bathroom door completely. We believe, that the hotel management has not invested in new mattresses, neither in new carpets for a very long time, so everything has the "charme" of the 60`tys. The old elevator waked us up several times by shock at three o´clock in the morning, it was as loud as an old truck. Air-condition ? First the remote-control was missing, later on it broke down completely ... and we could not open the windows because of the mosquitos, if you find blood spread all over the walls, it´s ours ! No international programms on the tv, only italian ! Breakfast : one bread-roll p.p., unpolite staff. The doors of the shower could not be closed completely, so also a big mess with the water. Maybe things are better in the main building, but our conclusion is : never ever again !!!

The room was clean ,the bed comfortable .The breakfast was good standard. There is a bus stop close to the hotel tough. The rest you can read in the the reviews for,and We would go back to this Hotel Grifone.

Distance to city not correct

L'hotel è molto confortevole e pulito, la gentilezza e il servizio sono unici, la colazione indimenticabile, solo che non essendo scritto da nessuna parte il prezzo del parcheggio quando ho saldato ho avuto una dispiacevole sorpresa. Credo che sia meglio avvertire prima i clienti. Cmq ne valeva la pena e sono sicura che ci tornerò.

An outstanding hotel in terms of value. The rooms were modern and spotless. The bed was the best we had in Tuscany. The desk staff spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful. A restaurant they recommended was a highlight of our stay in Florence. The hotel has a private, well lit parking area The hotel is about a 20-25 min. walk from downtown (Duomo), but this proved ideal both from the standpoint of price and enjoyment. We would not have liked to be in the very busy Duomo area. (There is also a bus that stops on the nearest corner and goes to the Duomo.) I strongly recommend this hotel.

Excellent rapport qualité/prix pour cette chambre située à l'annexe : très bonnes prestations (calme, balcon, chambre très propre et spacieuse, salle de bain magnifique en marbre, petit-déjeuner très complet avec service du personnel prévenant) Un seul bémol : quelques boissons périmées dans le mini-bar ! Bonne situation géographique (20 mn à pied du centre ou bus à proximité) Adresse à recommander ; je descendrais à nouveau dans cet hôtel si je dois revenir à Florence.

La sistemazione nella dependance è più economica e accettabile per chi si accontenta. Hotel in zona decentrata ma con il centro città facilmente accessibile con l'autobus 14 che si prende a 1 minuto neanche di distanza a piedi (farsi spiegare la differenza tra i vari numeri di autobus 14 14C 14D, ecc. perchè seguono percorsi diversi dalla mappa che gentilmente viene fornita dall'Hotel). Per chi desidera visitare il centro senza subire i costi elevati delle strutture del centro può essere una buona soluzione. Parcheggio disponibile a pagamento extra, come correttamente indicato.

At breakfast the offer of dishes (p.e. eggs) was not always completed.

The woman in the reception didt not say welcome and had clearly a hard day!

Ottima relazione prezzo/prestazione, e lontano dal centro pero ci sono i trasporti publici.
