My stay at Relais Uffizi in November 2011 was a great value and pleasant stay. The hotel is difficult to find the first time but could not be in a better location. You could hear noise from the people walking down the street and that could be an issue for some. The room is spacious with no view and large bathroom. Easily the best and most charming feature of this small hotel is the staff. They were always friendly, professional and Alessandro gave the best advice on everything from where to change money to where to get the best photo and at what angle and time. When going back to Florence this would be my first choice of a place to stay.

We stayed in room 24 which is an annex to the main hotel, you basically leave the main buidling on walk 10 feet and enter another building...think of these rooms as the, "cheapseats". We had a view of the area where they store and pick up the garbage, so it was loud in the morning and we could hear glass bottles being thrown away by local restaurants. Other than that, it's a great bargain because of the location and I probably would stay again, but spend a little more for the main hotel. The other issue we had was parking. The parking lot that they use is near the bus terminal on a narrow srreet and hard to find, even with GPS. The only thing I can say about that is Good Luck. We missed breakfast so I can't comment on that.

This was my fifth stay in Florence, my first at the Relais Uffizi. I will definitely return to this hotel. The location (immediately off of and overlooking the Piazza della Signoria) is the best for reaching the Duomo, Piazza della Repubblica, the Ponte Vecchio, and the Pitti Palace. It is central enough to all the major sites to go back and put your feet up for an hour or so if you'd like. My room and bathroom were sparkling clean. The room was large enough to walk on both sides of the double bed and had a desk (free wifi) as well as ample closet and cabinet area. The bathroom was completely tiled, roomy, and had up-to-date fixtures. The shower was large, had plenty of hot water, and the water pressure was excellent. Bed and bath linens were very good quality. The staff: from reception to breakfast service (included) to chambermaids, everyone I encountered was pleasant, competent, multi-lingual, helpful, kind, and cheerful. Breakfast is a simple buffet including breads, cheese, cold cuts, cereals, fruit, yogurts, and juices. Coffee and tea are served. It is served in broad enough hours to allow you to eat before an early tour time or after sleeping in. I have given the hotel a "9" for facilities offered only as there is no restaurant/cafe in the hotel. Frankly, who needs it? There are four or five places to eat right outside the building, all with outdoor seating on the Piazza! (Please note that my signature says I am from France, because I booked the room while in Paris. However, I am an American traveling in Europe.)

This was our first time. There were 3 of us - so we had a double and a single, the room was very large and the bathroom was also. The location was fabulous however you do have to listen to city noises early in the morning - bottles being dumped into trucks for the trash. This was easily overlooked because the hotel was in a fabulous location and very relaxing.

Painful to ove between room and outside due to a slow lift and the reception being on an intermediate floor. Also, the wifi is as good as useless; a very poor speed by the ISP.

My husband and I, having previously lived in Florence, chose the Relais Uffizi for its outstanding location, just steps from the Piazza della Signoria and Uffizi. We were delighted with our stay. The proprietors were welcoming, and the mostly young and international staff were friendly, knowledgeable and fluent in both English and Italian. Our room was spotless, spacious and quiet, the communal lounge (with wonderful view of the piazza and the Duomo) was comfortable and well-appointed, and the breakfasts were excellent and generous. Before our trip, one of our sons surreptitiously contacted the concierge to ask them for recommendations and to make a couple of advance dinner reservations for us, and the places they chose were outstanding in every respect.

The location is fantastic and view from the breakfast view amazing. However, our room was bad--the worst one on our trip to Italy. It had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke and our view overlooked an alley with a bunch of garbage dumpsters. Perhaps if we had paid more money for a better room we would have had a better experience-we stayed in the the dependence-double room. Also, the hotel was very difficult to find. Here are better directions, so you hopefully don't get lost like we did. 1) Find the Piazza della Signoria. 2) Find Chiasso de Baroncelli (an ally on the southwest side of the square. 3) Go down this ally and turn right down the next ally you come to (Chiasso del Buco). 4) The hotel is on the right.

A very delightful hotel. My visit was in winter and Relais Uffizi was a warm haven to return to after exploring Firenze. The more than ample breakfast was a good start to each day. The staff were helpful and friendly. A good place to stay for anyone wanting to stay in the heart of the old city and explore. those

This is the second time my wife and I have spent time at Relais Uffizi. Both times have been enjoyable experiences. The location is perfect, right in the center of Florence. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. We highly recommend Relais Uffizi for those who appreciate something better than just a budget accommodation. We will be back.

Relais Uffizi was an excellent stay for my wife and I. Both the room and bathroom were very clean and spacious. Breakfast was fair, mainly meats, cereal, fruit and beverages. There was construction going on around the outside of the room, but the location was worth it. We would definitely book with Hotel Relasi Uffizi again.

Relais Uffizi is a small boutique hotel nested into the recesses of one of Florence's most historic squares, and less than 100 yards from the Uffizi Galleries (which is one of the main reasons we stayed there). The hotel was originally recommended to us by close friends who have stayed there in the past. We were immediately impressed by the size and layout of our hotel room, as well as the appointments within, and the variety and value of the contents of the room's minibar. Their breakfast was another high point, combining great food with wonderful selection, in an unmatched setting. Considering the location, size and appointments of the room, as well as breakfast and the attentiveness of the staff, we would regard the Relais Uffizi as one of the best values we received in all of our European travels. Totally recommended without hesitation.

Wonderful location - a block from Uffizi, right on the Piazza Signoria, view of Il Duomo from the dining room window, across from the Ponte Vecchio, 5 minutes from train station. Staff were polite, responsive, helpful. Room a bit small but generally fine. One night a party went on until the wee hours across the courtyard, otherwise noise was no problem.

The location was excellent, and the staff were very warm and welcoming. Breakfast, although minimalist continental, was great. On the down side, I had requested a "double for single use" and got a very comfortable but small room over a side street, where there was considerable noise and cooking smells from the restaurant below. Bathroom was clean but dated, and wireless internet service tended to be unreliable. I'd definitely stay there again but would ask for a room upgrade.

The room I had was large with a nice bathroom. The windows looked out on some roof tops and the buildings accross the alley. The room had a small TV with CNN and BBC. There is a nice breakfast area with good assortment of foods including cheese and meats. There is a nice sitting room fronting the Piazza Signoria. Thankfully no TV here. To find the hotel go to the Piazza Signoria. Follow th cafes on the side toward the Arno. Turn into an alley between the last cafe and the Loggia. Turn right into the first alley. The Hotel door is easily seen immediately on your right.

Even knowing my way around Florence, it took a couple of loops and referrals to my map in order to find the hotel. It is located right in the middle of everything. The alley that one goes down runs directly next to the Uffizi. A little difficult to maneuver if you have overloaded yourself with luggage and are looking like a pack mule. Once found, the staff and accommodations were excellent. It becomes a small oasis in the middle of Florence. Starting with the room (Deluxe Superior Double). It was incredible. Large living room, large bathroom, and even larger main bedroom area. Plenty of space to spread out. Makes you feel like a prince. Room was clean and everything was there and functioned great. As for the staff, they were great. Very welcoming. Extremely helpful with dinner reservations over New Year's Eve and day as well as restaurant suggestions. Just great to deal with. Enjoyed just talking with them. The hotel has a large open area attached to the breakfast area that overlooks the Piazza della Signoria (as advertised on the website). This gives one a great birds eye view over this civic wonder. Great to take a few minutes and people watch. Breakfast was adequate and efficient. Don't be afraid to ask for a second Cappuccino. Overall, I found my stay here to be a wonderful experience and I will be back.

After hearing from so many people that central locations were noisy, we were very surprised at how quiet this hotel was. Exceptionally charming hotel, wonderful smiling faces each day, and very helpful on little extras. Two days before leaving we asked to stay another two days and were happily accommodated - it seemed like things needed to be juggled but the manager was happy to do it. Breakfasts were perfect, including a choice of special coffees each morning. Location couldn't be easier. Rates seemed good though that wasn't our main criteria.

This place is so good I'm actually considering keeping it as my little secret! A little awkward to get to with heavy luggage (access via a narrow lane and small elevator) but the service and view onto the Piazza della Signoria more than make up for it. We had a triple room, which had no view other than the wall of the Uffizi 5m away. Downside: room always dark. Upside: blissfully quiet. Staff so polite and helpful. They even located a nearby hearing aid supplier when my mum's went on the blink, thereby saved our holiday. Breakfast was average; good coffee, croissants, hard bread rolls, meats, processed cheese and yoghurt. Could do with more fruit. Overall terrific, fantastic central location and cannot fault staff.

We were first time in Firenze and we were really excited. Location of the hotel can´t be better, staff very friendly and helpfull, hotel itself and rooms are beautiful, very romantic and ideal for couples in love :-). The price is quite high (we stayed only 2 nights), but in city like Firenze probably adequate. The only problem (not hotel´s problem) is parking when you travel by car, another 70 euro for 2 days in garage.

Everything was wonderful. Location is perfect and right in the center of everything one needs to see in Florence. Only drawback is that getting to it via car is difficult. Area is not car friendly and you have to leave your car in a garage and get a ride to the hotel. No need for a car once at the hotel so that was fine. Would recommend it to everyone. Very large rooms and comfortable rooms for the price.

Hotel Relais Uffizi was an excellent place to stay! The staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, and multilingual. The location could not be beat!!!! Right in the middle of the best sights in Florence! Our bathroom was the nicest and largest of our stay in Italy. The room was also large! The only very minor thing I would say about the whole stay was that the furnishings in the common room could use an update, but nobody would notice for the views out the window in that room!

We have very mixed feelings about this hotel. On the one hand, it has a wonderful location right next to the Piazza della Signoria, the staff was welcoming and helpful, the breakfast was very good and the room was spacious and clean. On the other hand, our room was in Uffizi House, around the corner from the main hotel entrance. We were faced with an extremely steep marble stair case immediately upon opening the street door. There was an electric chair device that would carry a person up this flight of stairs, but it was not helpful for us and our luggage. Once we reached the top of this flight, we could continue up two more steep flights to our room or we could take a tiny elevator-like conveyance. I say elevator-like, because it was very slow and had no walls of its own and you had to keep your finger on the button of your chosen floor, unless you wanted the lift to stop running. The lack of walls would be potentially hazardous for young children or inattentive adults. To reach the breakfast room, we had to descend three flights of stairs, exit our building and walk around the corner to enter the main hotel. Once there, there was a much more reasonable staircase and a normal elevator. I believe the hotel could do a better job explaining what a guest would face if he/she were to be booked into Uffizi House, rather than the main hotel building. The very worst thing about our stay was the noise from the courtyard our windows faced. It is apparently a place where people come and go to very loudly dump trash and to violently open and close metal storage unit doors. It was quite disturbing and made us think we were paying a whole lot of money for a rather bizarre accomodation.

Posizione centralissima, stanza e bagno spaziosi.

When we checked in at the hotel, it appeared that there was made a mistake and that our room was given to other people. The reception was very friendly and then dicided to give us a fantastic room, some sort of junior suite, I think it was 60 square meters, for me, my son and my brother. All for the same price as a 3-personsroom. Real good service!!! The hotel was very well situated in the centre of Florence, only a 20 meters walk from the Piazza della Signoria. If I'm going to Florence another time, I will definitly stay in this hotel again!

My boyfriend and I loved the hotel. The room was spacious and the bathroom was truly exceptional in size and beauty. First time in Florence. Single women traveller. Spacious room (although not as romantic as on the website pictures), excellent service (got help to find a place to repair my watch and to take the bus for an excursion to Sienne), ideal location 2 minutes for Piazza Signoria. Rooms with windows on the Piazza are probably noisy but that was'nt my case. Only negative comment: the shower installations could be refreshed but it was still ok.

This is one of the most charming and beautiful hotels I have stayed in. I was given a room in the attic, and a beautiful room it was. Extremely spacious, very well done, and quite different from the regular hotel rooms. The hotel itself is in this old 16th century house, but very well maintained. The room was large, clean, well decorated. The bathroom was very spacious and clean. I loved the room, especially since you get one a fourth of the size in Rome for the same price. The location is fantastic. Right next to Piazza della Signoria, one of the best squares in Florence, and also very close to the Uffizi Galleries. Just a 10-15 walk from the train station and a 5-10 min walk from the Dome. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I left my bag there for a few hours after checking out, as I had time to kill before leaving. The breakfast area is beautiful with a breathtaking view of the Piazza. Breakfast is quite good, much better than what I got in Rome. I had an excellent stay at the hotel. I only spent a night in Florence, but wish i was there for more. For this price, this is an awesome deal, especially if you compare it with what you get in Rome. My only complaint is that the directions to the hotel are not clear. It's in this tiny alley way, and neither venere.com nor the email from the hotel gave me detailed directions. I had to spend a bit of a time finding the place.

Excellent hotel for seeing the sights of Florence! This was our first trip to Florence, we were celebrating our 10yr anniversary and so we booked a superior room for 4 nights. Although the hotel was very hard to find (we were expecting this... hence only 7 for location on map) the position could not have been any better. The rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was in the European style of a high standard (compared to what we had in Rome), and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I put an 8 for quietness because we were staying in the room behind reception, and on the first day we checked in there were some "loud talkers" checking out while we were trying to nap due to jetlag! We were considering changing rooms, but once settled the position turned out to be very quiet, with fellow guests being much more considerate! All rooms were positioned off the street, which means no view, but more importantly no noise! On a side note the bath towels were more like large tea towels (not fluffy towelling we are used to) but we just thought that must be what the europeans do - and just accepted it as a cultural thing! I would highly recommend staying in this hotel and we will be returning if ever we come back to Florence.

Our stay was very enjoyable. Rooms were as described and staff helpful. Our main requirement, of a central hotel to all the major sights, was spot on. The only criticism we could possibly level at the hotel would be a lack of double glazing to the windows of our bedroom bordering the alley below. The lack of sound-proofing was evident early in the morning from 7am when local restuarants would restock bottles etc. OK for eary risers but not for us! Having said this I would still reccomend the Relais Uffizi as a good three star hotel with more than its fair share of charm.

Perfect location, a few steps from the Ufizzi Gallery and St. Marks Plaza. If you get Room 15, the attic room, there's good news and bad. Good news: great, very large, private space, fabulous bathroom (although with bathtub and spray nozzle, no shower stall.) Bad: you have to walk up several attic-type stairs with your luggage, but hotel staff will happily assist. Overall, a great place to stay; we would definitely stay there again. The room decor was very classic, with lots of flowers and white wood funiture. The rooms were huge! However, the rooms seemed a bit "rundown". Furniture had dents and dings, cabinets had dirty doorknobs, walls, bedding, and towels had stains. The "rundown" look wasn't so bad that I wouldn't stay there again. However, it was enough to make me use sanitizing wipes (the kind you use on your hands at restaurants) to clean several areas that were a little too dirty for our comfort.

My stay at Relais Uffizi was fantastic. Perfect location, just off the Piazza della Signoria. The walk from the Santa Maria Novella train station is a bit longer than indicated, at least it felt that way with rolling luggage. The room was fantastic. Breakfast in the common room was good, to cafe' y latte was the best I had while traveling in Europe. The only negative was the "Internet Plug" listed on the room description was the phone connection. Yeah, no. Internet cafe's are close by though. I'd highly recommend the hotel & will definitely consider it on my next trip to Firenze.

Our room was amazing! Beautiful vaulted ceilings with wood beams, canopy bed, and terracotta floors. The host was very gracious and was very helpful in making dinner reservations for us and providing assistance for sightseeing. I will stay in this hotel everytime I visit Florence. The value of the room was much greater than the price we paid. You will not be disappointed when you stay here. The hotel is situated within two block of the Uffizi Museum and Ponte Vecchio, and 1 block away from Piazza de Signoria. I could not have planned a better place to stay.

Completely satisfied and happy with Relais Uffizi. Location is wonderful, staff very helpful, I stayed in another room after my venere.com stay -- the first room had some outside noise and the second was very quiet. I would recommend the hotel highly to friends visiting Florence. One point -- IF having access to cab at the front door is important, consider other options. About a one or two minute walk to area to pick up or be dropped off by cab. Not a problem for me but could be for some. There is a lift at the front door.

This is the second time we have stayed at Relais Uffizi. Once again the hotel provided excellent service, spacious rooms and a fabulous location. Several friends were traveling with us and we occupied 3 rooms during our stay. Everyone in the group thought that this little hotel was a real"find" We wouldn't think of staying anywhere else while in Florence.

One of the best things about this hotel is its position right in the heart of Florence. The room was clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning efficient. Staff were welcoming, but not over fussy. The continental breakfast was good.

I really enjoyed my stay of three nights in this charming little hotel of 15 rooms. The only request I had to make was to have the bidet cleaned--obviously somebody used it for a wrong purpose. It was taken care of immediately, but wish the cleaning people had been a little more attentive, as I was pretty depressed on arrival with the smell. I will definitely plan to stay again in Relais Uffuzi when I go back to Firenze and recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in this beautiful city. A cup of hot chocolate at nearby Cafe Rivoire is also a good reason to return to this area.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Relais Uffizi. THe location was incredible - we actually didn't realize how close to everything we would be. One comment though, there was a very strange smell in our room - like a mixture of clorex and bathroom cleaner. It was very distracting and almost nausating. But once you were in the room for a while, you got used to it. I would recommend that maybe they stop using those cleaners and find one that isn't that strong. The breakfast buffet was good - but some different items would be good on a daily basis...the same thing day after day gets boring. My husband and I both work for hotels in the States, so we have very high standards and the Relais Uffizi meet those standards!

The room quality and the helpful staff were first-class. A banging front door, directly below our room, was an annoyance in an otherwise quiet and pleasant hotel.

THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL WAS UNBEATABLE. THE STAFF WAS PROFESSIONAL & FRIENDLY. THE BREAKFAST BUFFET WAS ACCEPTABLE. REALLY THE ONLY MAJOR COMPLAINT WAS THE AMOUNT OF NOISE THAT I HAD TO PUT UP WITH IN THE ROOM. THERE WAS A LOT OF HALLWAY NOISE (PEOPLE COMIMG & GOING) THERE WAS ALSO THE SLAMMING OF THE FRONT DOOR & CONTINOUS STREET NOISE WHICH BECAME UNBEARABLE AT TIMES.

The hotel is well-placed near the Uffizi, but is quiet at night (a real bonus in Florence). The hotel accommodations, breakfast, and staff were excellent. We would stay there the next time we're in Florence. The only issue with price stemmed from the relative dollar/euro value, making this pricey for an American. One suggestion: describe location in a short narrative or provide a zoomed in view of its location off the Piazza. It is hard to find from the current map and picture.

Relais Uffizi is truly charming. Our room was huge with high ceilings and a very nice modern bathroom. It was clean and attractive. The breakfast room is open to a sitting room with large windows looking out onto the Piazza Signorelli. Its truly a room with a view. When you leave the hotel you are within easy reach of most of the sights of Florence. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The only caveat I would offer to potential guests is to try and reserve a room that does not open onto the stairwell, which can be a little noisy. We loved Relais Uffizi and would happily stay there again.

This hotel was by far the best hotel we stayed at during our ten day trip to Italy. The view of the Piazza was stunning, the location was fabulous and the room was charming. We will definitely stay here again and tell everyone we know who will be traveling to Florence about our stay at the Relais Uffizi.

Never have I stayed in a more warm, welcoming and beautiful hotel. The Relais Uffizi was spectacular and the staff comprised the nicest, most helpful people we have ever encountered, in the US or abroad. We will definitely stay again at the Relais Uffizi and tell everyone of our wonderful stay.

The location of the Hotel could not have been better, right in the heart of Florence. The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. There was some noise disturbance at night but I believe this was from surrounding buildings rather than from other guests. The price of being in a central location. Please advise potential guests from the USA to refrain from making themselves "comfortable" in common areas of the Hotel to the detriment of other guest's enjoyment as I found during my stay.

Relais Uffizi is my new favorite hotel. The location of the property is excellent - an easy walk to everything we wanted to see and do in Firenze. The staff was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable - in short, superb. The room was spacious, beautifully appointed, clean, and extraordinarly comfortable. I felt very safe there, and considered Relais Uffizi to be my second home while I was traveling. I will return again and again, and I have already referred many of my friends to the hotel. Thank you SO much! Ci vediamo a piu tardi, spero! Forse l'anno prossimo! Ciao,

Rooms very spacious... excellent location ! Would reccomend that they put in small dresser in room so that travelers staying longer can unpack a few items instead of living out of suitcase the entire time. Rooms could easily accommodate the extra piece of furniture.

The Relais Uffizi became our "home away from home" during our stay in Italy. We spent 6 nights at the hotel and wish we could've stayed more. The employees were attentive and helpful - from making dinner reservations, to calling us cabs. And you couldn't ask for a better location - we were minutes from everything! We had such a good experience that we recommended the hotel to our family who also found the hotel as charming as we did. We can't wait to go back to our Italian "home".....

Relais Uffizi was just what we had been hoping it would be - tucked away in back streets but really central. It had exactly the right amount of charm and the bedrooms were amazing. However, we slept very badly because of the noise that echoed throughout the building. The breakfast was not as good as we had hoped - I always like fresh fruit salad ready-prepared; although a fruit bowl was available.
