We stayed at 2 hotels in Florence during our 3 days stay, Belletini and Regina. Regina hotel room are cleaner and more spacious overall. The drawbacks are staffs doesnt speak english well and doesn't seems friendly, but who cares! Walls are paper thin. You could hear your neighbour talking clearly. If noise is a problem for you, I would not recommend this place. We walked the entire day and when we got back to the hotel, we were dead tired, so noise is not a problem for us. Breakfast are just croissant, bread and butter, and coffee.. Very plain breakfast! Overall, the stay is nice.

The hotel was fine, but on a loud street. Also, the bathrooms were a bit strange and dirty. But overall good value for price.

We only spent a couple of days in Florence, primarily interested in seeing Michelangelo's David at the Academy Gallery. The hotel was within easy walking distance from the Acsdemy as well as many other notable sights. We also enjoyed the restaurants located quite close to the hotel.

Whilst the staff were helpful, the room was somewhat neglected and having a shower caused water to get all over the floor of the entire bathroom. The breakfast was pretty minimal in an airless downstairs room. The hotel is next to a magnificent market, where decent coffee etc are available for breakfast at bargain prices.

The rooms were nice and clean, it advertised A/C, which was actually just a ceiling fan, and only some rooms have one. Shared bathrooms had mediocre showers that soaked the whole bathroom floor, which was the only really complaint. Office staff was great letting us leave our bags there before and after check in. Great quality for the price of 55 euro. Fantastic location with a lively plaza right outside the door with lots of restaurants and the shopping market right there. About a 15min walk to Uffizi and the water. 10 min walk to train station. Location was the best part.

Very well located, right beside the artisan's market and close to the main sights. On the same square there are several local restaurants where to eat quality italian meals. The room, bathroom and public spaces where clean and sufficient. The service was nice.

The room was great. There was a comfortable fair-size bed, closet, 2 bedstands and a mirror. Big window so you can let the fresh air in. Small breakfast is included in the price: coffee, orange juice and a pastry. The breakfast room is very small though, so you might not always get a seat. Only complaint - the shower in the bathroom consists of a showerhead built into the wall and is not separated from the rest of the bathroom, except by a curtain. So every time you shower, the entire bathroom floor is flooded. We only stayed 2 days, so this was not a big deal. But it may affect your stay, if you are staying longer.

The bathroom was our biggest complanint. The toilet didn't flush verry well and the sink was cloged, but worst of all was the shower. It flooded the whole bathroom. Someone could slip and fall on that tile.

The hotel was pretty clean. We did not have a private bathroom, but there were two in the hall and they were pretty clean. The bed was not very comfortable. It was two twins put together, which is common in Italy, but one twin was an inch higher than the other, and you could really feel the springs. The area is great, we walked everywhere and never had to take a bus or the subway. The walk from the train station to the hotel was about 15 minutes, but make sure you buy a map. Overall we had a great time in Florence.

The hotel is very well located. In front of it, there is a kind of square full of restaurants, a supermarket, two internet shops and a laundry shop. Besides, there s THE FAIR only one block from the hotel. The place is safe even at nights. The hotel is clean, however you have to ask reception to have the rooms done daily. If not nobody does it because of your privacy. The hotel staff is kind. The only thing I did not like was the breakfast room, a mini-room for six people.

Unfortunately I happen to be in Florence during a very hot and humid period which probably affected my experience at Hotel Regina. With that said, I did NOT enjoy my time at Hotel Regina. NO clean towels, NO air conditioning, NO fans, and NO cable television. During the night you had to choose between leaving the windows open and dealing with street noise and mosquitoes or closing the windows and sweating it out. Overall it was NOT a pleasant experience. If you need a place to stay try the Hotel Montreal. It was cheaper, the rooms had excellent air conditioning and you're just a few blocks from the train station.

This hotel is for someone living on a tight budget. The room wasn't too bad, but the bathroom situation was horrible. The sink, toilet, and shower were all crammed into a tiny room. When you took a shower, you got everything else in the bathroom soaked. It was not a good layout. Also, the two men we dealt with at the desk were not very personable or helpful. Also, if you are arriving at night, this is not the hotel for you. We had to walk down streets littered with trash, drunks, and urine. The breakfast offered was decent and the hotel is within a 5 minute walk to the Duomo.

This was the first time that I stayed at Hotel Regina. I stayed at other hotels booked though Venere and they were all of a much higher quality that this one. The room was definitely only one star, which is what the website said, but far too expensive for the quality of the room. The other two, and even some three stars I stayed in during my stay in Italy were far better quality for the same price. The location is good but I wouldn't stay there again.

The service is terrible, we have booked ensuite double room, there was water leakage in the bathroom on the first night and made the room flooded. We asked the staff for assistance, and he blamed us for "playing water", and refused to clean the floor, so we had to clean the floor ourselves. We told the day-time staff to change room, and she blame us again for telling lies in order to change room, she said "You want to change because you dont like the rooms, we cant change for you, you cannot expect too much in these 1/2 stars hotel" The staff in this hotel offer poorest service I have ever seen, the service quality doesnt even deserve for a 1 star hotel. Actually we had booked a room at the Regina hotel but when we arrives the gentleman who welcomed us informed that we would be in a room in the Hotel "La Noce" (2 stars), that is one floor below "Regina" and is owned by the same team, as we understood, and the reception is the same for both. The gentleman at the reception was polite and gentle and he can speak Spanish. The room was small but very well tidy and clean. The bathroom is very small but it was enough for us. The breakfast was simple but tasty just enough. The hotel is near from everywhere , 15 minutes from the train station and from vechio bridge. A good option to stay in Florence. My husband and I recommended to every one.

The room was tiny, and basically looked like an old dormitory. So dark and cold feeling. The shower was basically in the same room as the toilet, or shall I say on top of the toilet. Didnt feel clean in the bathrooms at all. For the price I would either upgrade or look for a different hotel.

We stayed in a triple room with the window facing the plaza. Wonderful for night life but not quiet. Nice views from the window and close to things. Staff was helpful and spoke good English. The bed sagged badly and was quite uncomfortable. We moved the mattress to the floor and it was OK. The breakfast was meager - OK. I think the price was a little high for the service, but then all lodging in Italy seems high.

When we checked into hotel regina we had reservations for a room for 60 euros for 4 nights, without a bathroom. The man behind the desk asked us if it would be okay if he put us in a 70 euro room for 2 nights, with a bathroom, and we agreed because we thought it might be nice to have the bathroom. But the room that he put us in for the first two nights was not good at all, our window opened up into an closed area in the middle of the complex that was about a meter square, and all the pipes in the building ran through it, so we could here whenever anyone flushed the toilet or went to the bathroom. Plus the breakfast area was right behind our heads, so we were woken up early everymorning as they set up for breakfast. The bathroom was nice enough to have, but the shower was just in the middle of the bathroom, with a curtain you pulled around yourself and a drain in the ground. When we moved to the 60 euro room it was much nicer, with a sink in the room and a washroom down the hall. It was much bigger as well, and opened up into a big courtyard. As for location, it was actually great. The piazza outside the hotel has a bunch of excellent restaurants all with patios to eat out in, and there was a great gelato place to stop after dinner. It is right near a major market area, and just a couple minutes walking from the Duomo, and walking distance from pretty much all of the major things you might like to see in Florence. I just recommend getting the less expensive room!

Especially the staff at the Regina hotel was very friendly and helpful (reminded us to enjoy our breakfast in the morning, we didn't know we had ordered one). The surrounding of the hotel is very good, near very fine restaurants like ZaZa at the corner of the piazza and nearby tourist attractions. We have a very unhappy stay in Regina. We have booked a double room with shared bathroom for two nights on Wed and Thur through venere.com, particularly requested for a quiet one. Then we gave the hotel an email requested for the same type of room for one more night on Sat. We have stated clearly in two emails and have confirmation from Regina more than one week before we reached the hotel. However, the hotel mistook us as staying there for three consecutive nights and said at first they have no room for us for the last night until we provide them their confirmation letter. We were put into a very long, narrow and small room with two beds each at one end of the room for the first night, with apology. We then have got a room with three beds on the second nights, but also with the very disturbing loud noise from the bar right below till 2 a.m. We were told by the manager before we leave for Siena that we would stayed in the room at the first night on Sat night. (O.K., small, twin beds, but at least quiet.) When we return from Siena, we were found being put into a very very tiny room that used to be a store room with one spare bed frame place just outside our window and the spare mat put onto those of ours. The rooms can just place two beds and a 1 feet wide cupboard, no more, not even our lugguages. We told the man on duty that we were dissatisfy with the room and the man just rudely replied us that he has no way, and asked why didn't we call in the afternoon (from Siena?!) for the manager before he left office! We were very fury, but what can we do late at night?! When we asked the man to remove the spare mat (which couldn't be sleep on in anyway, must has been used for more than 15 years) from our tiny room, the man just reminded us that we had paid only 50 Euros and could leave and go for one worth 100 Euros. Because it is really late at night on Saturday, we stayed, but very unhappily. Although the manager apologized for the room and gave us a 10% discount,

Nice, cheap hotel located centrally in the San Lorenzo quarter, 100m away from the San Lorenzo church. Our double room with private bathroom was clean but rather small and well used (spots on the walls, bath with "erosion" stains, ...); breakfast was ok, the eating place was very small, but luckily never full; people in charge were friendly and helpful. No further comments, we looked for a cheap double room, breakfast included, and found a very good one for just 48 eur.

When we arrived, the room we had a reservation for was already given to somebody else. We were put in another room which was small, dark, hot and next to the kitchen and therefore, wery noisy. After our complains, we we put in the room we booked in the first place. Everything was very old, but okay.

Difficult to find. Low security with passports, could have easily been stolen. Found some of the management to be very incompetent. Bathroom was too small for a twin share. Soon found much better value elsewhere for the same price.

The hotel is in an excellent location, right next to the Central Market and a short walk to the train station. The neighborhood is safe and clean, and there are many places to eat nearby, as well as a nice wine shop just steps away. Our room was fairly clean. That is, the bathroom was clean, and so was the bed and furniture. However, there was a bad odor in the room, perhaps a sewer smell, such that we kept the window open as much as possible. This was not easy to do at night because it was quite cold. The other rooms smelled fine, but we were told that we had a special rate and that was the only room they had available at that rate. Also, the look of the room would be greatly improved if the black scuff marks were removed from the walls (perhaps from past shoes or luggage?) and if the squashed mosquitos were removed from the walls as well. It was pretty noisy because we were right next to the reception area and there is no carpeting. We heard people in the stairwell as well as in the hallway. We often heard our neighbors next door and could actually make out their conversation if we spoke Italian! There was no noise coming from the street, however. Overall, our stay was not all we had hoped for, and probably could have had better for the price. Having a "special rate" should not mean that we are subject to strange smells and dead bugs on the walls! But, having enjoyed Florence so much and having spent little time in our room except to sleep and shower, it was a minor issue.

Centrally located amongst the market, though the street can look a little dodgy and can get a little noisy at night as deliveries are made and revellers made their way home. Management very helpful and welcoming...breakfast room very cosy (ie small)...but when there is so much else on offer in Florence, is not of great importance. Showers could have been a little better - but quality/price would rate this place and would be happy to stay here again.

Firstly, the location of the hotel in the night looks like a a bit dangerous, but we didnot have any problem. The hotel needs to give more attention to the maintainence of the facilities. Thera was no light in one of the public bathroom/toilets and was virtually non-usable thus leaving only one bathroom for the whole one floor. The room windows are not easily openable and the room itself was a bit conjested. But the major plus point was the reception. The person was very helpful and friendly.Overall it is just an average accommodation.
