Very Very Very hard to find, we had almost given up looking when a couple of good samaritans helped us out by leading us to it. The hotel staff were no help whatsoever, when asking for directions they suggested that we ask somebody else!!!!!!!! Once we found it, we were in for further surprises, although reasonable looking from the outside, the inside was a completely different story. The interior looked and felt like we were in a USSR era building, plain gray concrete welcomed us once we stepped in through the hugh wooden outside door. The reception was on the next floor up. Our room was no better, sparely furnished, same dull gray walls. We had to ask for bathroom supplies as none were present in the bathroom, although reception were happy to provide what we needed. When we asked about parking the man at reception suggested that we just park on the street and risk it. Thankfully there was a secure indoor car park 5 minutes walk away. The included breakfast was not even worth bothering with. The only good thing about this hotel is that it is within walking distance of the city centre and the major attractions. Not Recommended!!!

The hotel is quite far from the main train station especially if you have luggages. Frontdesk area smells like cigarette smoke, i dont know where it is coming from. No Wifi inside the room. Breakfast too little, need to refill more. Room is big but old and dark inside the room. Room along the street is noisy. TV has limited channel and no cable.

Well positioned and close to the station. The staff was nice. We had a very quiet room but small (we have only slept in it). I guess the biggest room were better but very loud because on the main street. The shower did not flush properly and there was no mat. Then breakfast was really modest with low quality food. After all a fair value price hotel for the beautiful city of Florence!

Good location, close to train station & walking distance to all major sights. Several bars & trattoria's, laundromat, pharmacy on street. However, the rooms have 12 ft. ceilings, and THEY control the heat. Our room was cold most of the time. Twice we asked for extra blankets. Balcony doors did not close so cold air poured into room.. The walls were scuffed and dirty. The hot water took literally 2 minutes to come out of taps, so we usually washed in cold. Shower was fine, once you waited the 2 minutes. Breakfast was meats, cheeses, cereals, juice, etc. The rolls were stale all 3 mornings. No croissants. And the coffee (in a pump pot) was disgusting! tasted like instant! TV has no English channel-not even BBC World news. Internet in lobby only was not working 2 days.No place in lobby to sit with laptop anyway! Worst hotel of the 4 we stayed in this trip to Italy(and the most expensive). You can do better. Many to choose from in the area.

The location is good and the direction indicated on the map is accurate. The staff was not as friendly as I expected but still they were helpful. The great thing abput this hotel is their breakfast is epic. You will be surprised by their buffet breakfast. They offer you variety of food not just only bread and coffee.

My wife, daughter (11 yrs) and I stayed in a triple room in late July 2011. The room was very clean, neat and spacious, and the bathroom was very big. The bed was comfortable. However, the window couldn't be closed completely and the noise from the street outside was so loud that I had to use earplugs at sleep (but it didn't bother my wife and daughter and they slept like pig). The hotel is conveniently located within 15 min walk distance to tourist attractions and the train station. The staff was polite and helpful. The breakfast buffer offered fresh fruits, cereal, croissant, bread, meat, cheese, coffe, yogurt, etc. For the price we piad, the hotel met our expectation and we would come back again.

GOOD: The hotel was a good value for the money. Room was clean and spacious, with a pleasant green view from the window. Bathroom was large and well equipped, with a huge tub and lots of hot water. Breakfast (included) had a large selection of tasty food in a charming dining room. BAD: Long walk from the train station. It isn't the hotel's fault, but my friend and I hated Florence. We found it to be mean, cold, and chaotic. No maps, no posted bus routes or stops, no helpful people. They seem to hate tourists in general. Be ready to walk EVERYWHERE on tiny crowded sidewalks, and spend the money on the best map you can find. Street names change at practically every intersection.

The room was noisy as there was a waiting area right iutside the room. The walls were filthy with dead mosquito and looked as if they hadn't been painted in a long time. The furniture was basic at best and compared to the other hotels that I stayed in on this holiday this was by far the worst for quality v. price.

The Piccadilly really is a smoking deal. At 44E a night, it was very easy on the budget and totally adequate for our stay in Florence. The AC cranked, which was wonderful, and the place was easy to find and navigate - close to the sights and to the train station. We found Florence to be kind of dirty and stinky and, while the hotel is pretty past its prime, it was an adequate refuge. I liked the little old lady and her cranky poodle whose family runs the place. Grandma just kind of hung out all day and her dog would greet us with either a wag or a bark, depending on its mood.

I have stayed at the Hotel Piccadilly twice. Mostly because the location is AMAZING, it is nearly a stone's throw away from San Marco square and a ten minute walk to the city center. However our welcome was all but friendly when the guy at the desk didn't know how to help us use the phone in the lobby to call home. The room was spacious with large beds and a HUGE bathroom. However our room was RIGHT next to the kitchen and eating area so it was quite loud in the morning. A group of high school kids was there and they were ridiculously loud and it irked us but what can you do? As I said for a hotel so close to great restaurants and all the sites within walking distance you cannot beat the price. We received fresh towels every day and our room was tidied nicely. The breakfast was very nice as well minus the obnoxious kids. However the hotel is rather echoey so you will hear EVERYTHING so I recommend bringing a fan like we did to help cover at least some of the noise. The barking poodle of the owner wandering around the hotel is a bit strange, but hey it's Italy...give it a chance :)

Situated on an easy route from the Railway Station, the hotel has fairly large rooms and attached bath and toilets, with an excellent price if booked early. Breakfast in the neat restaurant was substantial with fruits and additional bakery and meat items included. The hotel also has a lift , useful for older customers. The staff can refer you to some tour operators but not much more. Overall, would go there anytime we are in Florence !

The hotel was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was of good standard. The neagatives were: drainage from shower inadequate, so that the bathroom completely filled with water, and soundproofing of rooms was inadequate so that we could hear every word spoken by those in neighbouring rooms.
