6 nights in Florence. We arrived late and were put in an end room - far too small for a couple. We asked to be moved the next morning and immediately got a street room, much bigger and nicer. Perfectly located to walk to all the major tourist spots. Breakfast was good. I'd happily recommend this hotel to sight seeing tourists.

My single room was like a cheap YMCA room. It was nothing more than a very basic small room, but the shower/toilet, hairdryer, TV worked fine. The view from my window was nice. This hotel was just as lovely as shown in the photos, except for my ugly single room. Anyone who is going to stay in a nicer room than a single room has nothing to worry about, because I think single rooms are the only ugly part of this hotel. Excellent location. Safe & convenient. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Be careful if you go out leaving your luggage after check-out. Their luggage room is left unlocked and anyone can walk in/out. They don't verify which bags belong to who. They let anyone walk in and take out any bag. I was surprised how unsafe it was. One could take anyone's bags and walk out without getting caught.

The bathroom was a little stinky. Forced air could help. Quite noisy if the room is towards via Panzani. It was october and we always kept the windows closed. Moreover we are used to street noise. So this didn't bother too much.

We were very happy with this hotel. All employees were very friendly and helpful. We arrived with the car (if you know Florence... this might be a callenge), but people at reception gave us excellent directions and also managed parking of the car. The hotel is a 5 minutes walk to the Duomo, so you are staying really downtown. I have been to Florence in the past, but never had such a good hotel for this fair price.

Pretty good hotel. Our room was crazy...in a nice way. We stayed in the Presidental room and it was huge! The front desk...there were a couple of surly guys but for the most part they were really helpful and friendly! The only negative is that it is really close to the train station...but the street we were on was a side, quiet street.

Now this hotel is suberb! We were greeted as we arrived and were given a lovely room with an amazing view of the Doumo. Room was clean, spacious and warm upon arrival. Apart from the lift breaking down and guests having to use 6 flights of stairs, our stay was perfect. If you stay at this hotel, be prepared for the lavish breakfast they lay on. Also, the breakfast room should be a tourist attraction in itself. The ceiling would belong in any basilica in Florence! The location is perfect for train travellers, only a ten minute walk was needed!

We are three single women, and were given a triple room which was quite stunning. It was a large room, beautifully furnished with old-style furniture and elegant drapes. Our bathroom was even more stunning, cool and marbled with a large shower AND a bath and two hand-baisins. And best of all, when we opened the shutters, there was a view of the Duomo right at the top of the street. I gather from other reviews, that you can be unlucky or lucky with this hotel, and we were very lucky. The staff was sunny and helpful, the breakfast excellent and the location could not be bettered. The rooms are not easy to access for the less than able-bodied. The street outside can be a little noisy, but that's what you can expect when you choose to visit a vibrant city. We would love to re-visit.

We are a couple travelling from madrid. We were really upset with the conditions of the hotel, as it didn´t match our expectations (including that the room was differing much from internet pictures): Tv was not functioning ok Cushion really poors and very old Not clean spacious Old and ruinous bathroom In conclusion: really shabby and grotty hotel Of course not deserving the category it shows (3 star superior???) Definetely i wouldn´t come back and wouldn´t either recommend it.

Although not very prepossessing from the outside, Hotel Paris is lovely inside and the rooms are very spacious, with painted ceilings and lovely furniture in the rooms. It is in an excellent location, the only drawback being that in the centre of Florence there is no restriction on sirens in the middle of the night and we were woken almost every night by emergency vehicles screaming past our window.

Fabulous hotel, beautiful and charming rooms for a great price. Lovely antiques throughout, frescoed ceilings in breakfast room. Terrific, very helpful staff. . Just make sure you ask for quiet room in back on higher floor if you have difficulty sleeping with outside noise as the windows may not be double glazed windows. I think the street will become closed to traffic at night in the future.

Our staying in Florence has been simply perfect. This hotel is located 5 minutes walk both from Duomo square and Train Station. Far better than other many 4****, this 3***hotel may not be the latest fad but it's charming, spacious rooms are elegantly dressed and painted (some of them with frescoes) Classic Italian style furniture in rooms and common areas makes your stay a pleasant experience further than a simple place to sleep. Last but not least, all the staff was extremely polite, warm and helpful. Special thanks and hello to Francesca from Cordoba, Spain. We won't look for another hotel in our next trip to Firenze.

We stayed as 3 adults in a triple, superior room. The hotel room was comfortable, clean and very spacious. Since we were travelling in November the weather was cool at night. The heating was very effective. Good water pressure in shower. The location is excellent as you can easily walk everywhere. Breakfast suited our needs (hot, cooked food like eggs and bacon is not supplied). The desk staff helpful and friendly. The exterior does not look great at the moment as scaffolding is in place, but the interior is fine.

This hotel used to be an old Florentine home - it is amazing. The breakfast room has a frescoed celing! Our room was huge, with 2 canopied beds and a huge fireplace. Don't expect first class plumbing but do expect a friendly welcome and a real sense of history. The reception staff speak English well and were really understanding about us being late because of plane delays. It is centrally situated - very convenient for all the sights. At the moment (Oct 07) there is scaffolding outside whilst they re-do plasterwork but don't be put off. This is a lovely little hotel, full of surprises, from the original window shutters to the glass stairs.

Very good location, mid way between the train station and the Duomo area. Easy walk to all: Arno, Galleria dell'Accademia (DAVID), designer shopping a block away, restuarants. Rooms on street to the front of hotel very noisey at all hours of the night if one wishes to sleep with the windows open. Excellent staff: helpful, efficient, kind. Presidential Suite superb for family or parties of 4. Huge and exquite. Included breakfast substantial unless one is looking for the non-existant eggs/bacon one expects in the USA; otherwise a real cappaccino/expresso is extra unless you can be satisfied with the machine variety. Only drawbacks: hand-held shower head and noise in Presidential Suite.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful, always ready to book ticket to museums and ro recommend restaurants etc., The breakfast were very good although we did get sore necks looking at the beautiful ceiling! The only place where this hotel fell short was our room - 104 - as it was not as the pictures for a standard double bedroom were in the brochure or on the web site as it was only about 10" wider than the length of the bed and only the width of the bed plus a small wardrobe long. The en-suite was off to one side. The bed itself was placed right under the window so we couldn't have the internal windows open as it was right across the bed and therefore a danger. Also we were at the back of the hotel which was on a main road and a bit noisy. We would definately use this hotel again but make enquiries about the room first.

I booked & paid extra for 4 superior rooms. 1 double & 3 single. The double was actually featured on the website and therefore very good.My son & his partner had this. But the 3 singles could not be described by any stretch of the imagination as superior. All were tiny. One was pleasantly furnished and was acceptable as a standard. My eldest son had this. My brothers room had very scruffy furniture and badly marked walls. My own was completely unacceptable and I asked to be moved. One family member descibed it as a broom cupboard. It was so narrow I had to climb over the bed to get to the wardrobe. Walls & carpet were badly marked ,furniture badly knocked about. They were full the 1st night but moved me the next day.The second room was bigger but again badly marked walls & furniture & could not be reasonably rated superior. On the plus side the public areas were good as was the buffet breakfast and the staff were friendly & knowledgeable. The hotel is in a perfect position for all main sites and we didn't let the rooms spoil the trip.

I arrived Florence during summer by train. Took me about 10 minutes to walk from the train station to this hotel. I found the hotel in a street, like a back alley, with motor bike parking lots, rubbish bins, and some temporary installation attached to the exterior of the hotel. Upon entering the hotel, I experienced a rather humid and hot lobby. The room I stayed was spacious and to a certain extend, empty. Most of the fixtures were very old and flimpsy. Air-condition unit in the room was working fine and the toilet was ok. My morning experience with the breakfast area was neat and tidy, with relatively sufficient variety of food to choose from. At this price point in comparison to other similar hotels I stayed in Italy, I got something better than this.

We had a little trouble finding the hotel, maps and street names didn't exactly match. Elevators in hotel are very small - 2 adults and 1-2 bags max. Room was pleasantly spacious. Larger than most we had seen. Bathroom was all marble (walls and floor)- very nice. You did pick up some street noise through the windows but not to bad. Great location, walking distance to train station, most of the popular sites, and shopping. Hotel staff was helpful for restaurant recommendations and looking up train times for us on the internet. Continental breakfast was included with limited items but sufficient. Best bet on restaurants were the small mom/pops located on the sidestreets nearby. Never had a bad meal. My wife and I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again if we came back to Florence. Only bad experience occured late at night (10:30 pm)after dinner and as we were walking in the area called the Square eating gelato. I was jumped by one of two young Italian men who wrapped his arms and leg around me so I couldn't move and proceded to pick my pocket, yelling Americano!!! I was able to push him away and luckly he got nothing of value but it was so quick and unexpected and alarming to both my wife and I. It almost ruined what had been such a wonderful first visit to Italy. So my suggestion is not to be on the streets late at night.

If we came to the hotel after a long ride, they just told us the airconditon in the room we book doesn`t work and that`s why they couldn`t let us thh room. Even we told them we don`t need airconditon (it was very moderate temperature)they won´t give it to us. Instead the booked us a very charmless, noisy hotel. Think the were overbooked or found other guests who stayed longer or paid more -very bad style! Don`t be sure to get a room then you book Hotel Paris!

Booking this Hotel is like a lottery. You might win and get a big, spacious nicely furnished room with windows on a quiet side street (e.g: Nr 225), or you get a small, modern room facing the main street. Booking superior rooms might help, but you are never sure. And when air conditioning does not work: kismet. They will not repair it during your stay. Overall the price/performance ratio is correct. This hotel is located right in the city center, within walking distance of all sights, and it is reasonably priced. On the other hand it dearly needs some renovation, at least for some of the rooms...

We were a family of four. Adult's room was very spacious: sitting room, large bedroom, and large bathroom (marble). Our daughter's room was much smaller but still very lovely. In my opinion the location of this hotel is probably on one of the most beautiful streets in Rome! Plenty of restaurants and outdoor cafes nearby. Breakfast was nice: eggs, pastries, meats, cheese and cereal. The hotel is 2 stops by subway from the termini. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again when in Rome.

(You do have to pull your luggage over some cobblestones to get there, if I remember correctly.) The location is walking distance to all the major sites, only a few blocks from the Duomo. Our room was huge, with a high ceiling and a giant window overlooking the street. The street is not that busy, so it wasn't noisy in the room. The staff directed us to a very good casual trattoria across the street. The only bad thing is that their rates have gone up a lot since we stayed there in Sept. 2003. We paid 105 Euros per night for a double. At that rate I felt Hotel Paris had a very good price/quality ratio.

We were so surprised at the beauty and spaciousness of this hotel. We enjoyed our stay here more than any other hotel! Thank you!

This was our second stay at this hotel. The rooms are fabulous, the location could'nt be better, especially if arriving via train.

Great hotel, established in a gorgeous 16th century building. Right in the center of the city. Huge rooms. I recommend it.

We booked our standard room on Venere, which offered a much reduced price of 140 euros compared to the Hotel Paris website of 230 euros or more. I had stayed at the Paris before and knew the rooms were slightly larger than usual and liked its central location. However, the website stated that the elevator was being replaced and would be out of service. We chose to stay there anyway. Our "standard room" was on the fourth floor in the annexed building. I believe we actually received a superior room--THE superior room. We had requested a room with two single beds since we were two friends traveling together. Our room was 20 by 25 feet with 20-foot ceilings. It had two double beds with draperies over them, a sofa, two easy chairs, a large sealed fireplace, a dining table with four chairs, large antique dressers and wadrobe, frigo bar and TV. The bathroom was huge with a large tub/shower. We did not ask for or expect such opulence. I think they gave us what was available especially since the elevator was out of order. The breakfast room is very nice, with vaulted frescoed ceiling. The breakfast itself offers good choices, including lots of breads, pastries, fruit, cold meats and cheese, ygurt, and cereal. We had a really great time, and the room did cost ony 140 euros. Once the elevator is back in service, its cost will be closer to 400 euros. I will still stay here again, choose a standard room, and expect a much more standard experience.

Hotel position excellent for sights and shopping- all within easy walking distance. Lift being refurbished(out of action)during our stay which for some may be a major concern particuarly for rooms on the fifth floor. Hotel clearly requires further refurbishment but has excellent potential. Parking is restricted to side street but is only like the rest of the town. However the hotel does have a parking facility arrangement if you do not need your car during your stay. Continental breakfast rather spartan compared with other hotels.

On the first night the air conditioner was not working properly. Having reported it to management we were assured that the problem was fixed but on the second night same problems ! A call to reception in the early hours to complain resulted in an offer of a fan which we would have to collect ourselves due to their being only one staff ! Room bed sheets were not changed daily. Other than that rooms are nice and spacious and breakfast OK.

Lovely 18C hotel located within a courtyard setting. Our superior room was excellent, spacious with a terrace overlooking the roof tops of Florence, however no furniture on the terrace which was a great shame. Also no help with luguage catered for. Breakfast was fine and a very centrally located hotel 5 mins walk to the Duomo and 10 minutes from the station.

The hotel was being rennovated during our stay -- it was noisy, no elevator was available(our room was at the farthest end of the hallway on the 5th floor), the air conditioning was not working properly and the room was uncomfortably warm. The breakfast was good and plentiful, and the staff was helpful and friendly.

There were surprises such as: some remodeling or small construction was going on, no elevator, 2nd floor over there is like 4th floor here. It was short portion of stairs and outside wall made from see through glass or fiber-glass (probably temporarily inserted) that could present problem for person afraid of highs, but one could find a way around it. However, we got the best room, specious with two bathrooms and partial painting exposed on the ceiling and walls (it is old, historical building). Good breakfast was served in an elegant room, which also had old beautiful paintings on the ceiling. Overall, the stay in this hotel was the most memorable during our trip in Europe (six countries).

The location is excellent. Our experiences with the front desk was not all that great. They really did not go out of their way to help us. The elevator still does not work. Even though there are four floors, don't think it's your typical four flight of stairs you have to climb. If you are the kind that whines having to climb 1 or 2 flights of stairs, I would advise not staying here until the elevator is working again. Overall, the price and location was great, but don't expect great service from the front desk.

I really appreciated the fact that you could walk to the hotel from the train station, carrying luggage. Also, the continental breakfast was truly a buffet. Our room was cute and bathroom was very clean. The front desk service was helpful and nice whenever we had questions.

We were warned that the lift was out of order when we booked. It looked as if it had been out of order for some time. Perhaps the room was cheaper than it would be if the lift were working but we found it inconvenient.

We had an enjoyable two-night stay at the Hotel Paris. The location is excellent. We wish the elevator was bigger, but we got a lot of exercise climbing the stairs. The staff was very helpful, i.e. arranging for rail tickets, museum tickets, etc.

Rooms comfortable and the staff helpful. The way the rooms are numbered is a little confusing. Moreover there was a problem with the lift during our stay which meant a lot of climbing. The position of the Hotel meant that every site that we wished to see as easily walkable. Generally the value, environment and position of the Hotel helped to make our stay in Florence extremely enjoyable.

The lift is completely obsolete et does not stop at breakfast room level. From the web page, I had understood that there was a restaurant in the Hotel. In fact, it was only for breakfast. Space in front of the hotel for car unloading and loading is too small and generaly occupied, fully or partly, by "squatters". Hotel staff should be more efficient on this matter.

Hotel was a bit quirky, in that reception area very limited but rooms spacious and accomodating, converted from 2 adjoining palazzos, so getting to the room required a bit of a trek. But it was relatively close to what we wanted to see, staff gave good recommendations, and our room was enormous (with 2 full baths!!). We were very satisfied.

we had a great time. it's not my favorite location but it is convenient to the duomo, piazza di santa maria novella and the train station. we had a great room. it had a bathtub which isn't very common in florence hotels and it was very quiet, not facing the street. and we had a view of the duomo. there was the festival on san giovanni complete with fireworks during our stay. we were able to see them from our window.

Great hotel, great location. Loved the frescos on the ceilings, especially in the dining room. The man on the desk was most helpful with all questions we had about parking, museums, tours, etc. The room was spacious with modern bathroom and old-world charm in decor. We would choose Paris Hotel again.

This was one of the best rooms we have stayed in during our travels in Europe and The States - spacious rooms, great location, courteous staff, good beds, good view, quiet. The breakfast room is beautiful and they offer a good variety of choices to eat. We used the valet parking for our rental car. The service was extremely convenient and fairly priced (for Florence). We waited longer than we wanted to (40+ minutes) to get our car back in the morning. This hassle could have been avoided if we had called from our room earlier to request the car, but we were led to believe it would be quicker when we dropped our keys with the front desk the day before. I highly recommend this hotel to any travelers staying in Florence. Along with the luxurious feel to the room, the location is very convenient for walks around the town. Getting there by car was a little more challenging, but we got there and really liked it.

I will definitely use your site in the future, but I would stay at a higher quality hotel. I like the age of the building and some of the rooms were attractive. However, after staying at some other properties I was slightly disappointed. You really do pay for what you get.
