Hotel is well located and easy to get to, once you know the number of the street should be Black and not Red, or round the other way. Room and bathroom were the most spacious I found in Italy. Staff is friendly. This hotel had excellent rate and internet included.

The location of hotel - is the main city center, we had a terrace in our room, so it was nice to sit with friends. Nearby there is a parking which is in regular expensive Firenze prices. Despite the fact, that staff was very unfriendly, everything was quite well.

The hotel location is a bit different from that indicated on the Google map (it's on the other side of the road). It's pretty close to the SMN train station, the SITA bus station, & to the main places of interest. The staff was nice. The room was a bit long but narrow, still cosy, with a sink (lav was shared). I stayed at the 1st floor, & if U have heavy bags be aware of no elevator. There's a nice cafe very close to the hotel with rather friendly prices. Though indicated, the Internet was not available, which was critical; thnx God there were lots of inet points around. As a negative point, the facility doesn't provide any breakfast.

Spacious room, but the WC made croaking noises all night long. I turned off the faucet for the WC the 2nd night to sleep peacefully. Once I turned the water on in the morning, the croaking immediately started! Only stayed 2 nights, so did not mention this to the personnel. Otherwise, we had a good stay.

Great Location. A few blocks from Train Station in a somewhat ethnic neighborhood (very nice people). Very nice reception guy in evening and gal in morning. Breakfast was uninspiring but good value at 3 euro. Cafe at corner much better. Only distractions were reception phone ringing noise through walls and heavy smoking reception guy during the day. Very good value.

The hotel is a value for money. Great price, great situation, good restaurants in the sorroundings, I recommend the Trattoria "Il Vinaino", just on the corner. The bathroom was a little bit careless, you should use slippers. Some flies bite me. The room we had, overlooked the street and was a little noisy.

I took advantage of an unbelievable special offer - €15 per night for a single room without breakfast. In reality they gave me a double room with ensuite, while a buffet/self service breakfast was on offer for another €3. The hotel is smart, comfortable and exceptionally clean; the only negative side could be the surroundings which are typical of station areas all over the world; not the cleanest, and with groups of immigrants loitering on street corners at all hours. Florence is not normally a dangerous city but the impression when darkness falls might be a little off-putting.

I booked a room in this hotel because my bus went to the airport at 3:30 am, so I only needed it for sleeping 3 or 4 hours, I did not need more. In general, the hotel is ok for this purpose. It seems to be clean, but I found an insect in bed. Perhaps, I would have happened in an expensive hotel anyway, I do not know, I only tell what it happened. In any case, the hotel was clean, it is very cheap and it is very well situated closed to the train station.

We were really not happy here, especially for what we paid. The hall bathroom was not adequately cleaned and it flooded every time someone showered. I didn't even feel comfortable going in to use it and we were ready to be out of there by our last night. The breakfast was meager for the 3 euros charged and left to sit out all night. I understand we were in a foreign country and need to try to speak the language, but most of the receptionists' English was poor. One man said he would come by and help with the heater and he never did. The (we suppose) owner who asked for payment was rude and gruff. I think we should have paid a few more euros and stayed somewhere that would have been much nicer with larger rooms (we could hardly move!)

Friendly staff, I asked for a low flor (because of my mother that could not climb stairs)and they gave us a spacious room on the ground floor. good location and really nice. Beautiful courtyard. The night receptionist told us that the heating would turn on automatically in the evening (It was really cold). It did not turn on automatically. The next morning we asked again & someone else told us that we had to turn it on ourselves and it worked fine.

You could not beat the prices, and the location near the train station is hard to beat. Its close to many places of interest. The gentleman that ran the front desk in the evening, smoked like a chimney and if that does not bother you than this may be your place. Our room was a good 20 feet away and I would wake up in the middle of the night to the smell of cigarette smoke. The rooms seemed clean but the upkeep was a bit behind and made things feel probably worse than they were. The quarters were definitely cramped.

For the price, this hotel is good. Additional information about surroundings: There is a restaurant called 'i' Vinaino' near the hotel. It is good. The price is reasonable cheap, and the foods taste good. Do NOT go to 'Curtatone' at the Via Curtatone. It is terribly expensive and low quality foods. They charged me 13 euros for 2 pieces of cakes and one coffee. The price is much more expensive than the nominal price. For example, the price on the tag for the piece of cake is 2 euros, but they charged me 4 euros. I only paid only 3 euro for similar things at a cafe near the railway station. So avoid the 'Curtatone' at all means.

I stayed in Florence for 3 days, 2 nights. My favorite part about Florence was the Biboli Gardens, if you are a nature person, I would definitely recommend it! I enjoyed Hotel Palazzuolo because it was close to the train station and still in walking distance of all of the sights. The best part about the hotel is that it only cost 20euro a night and I felt that it had a clean, quiet, and friendly atmosphere. I stayed in a double with a shared bathroom. The room was decently sized but thats okay because I was only sleeping in it. The bathroom was clean and always open.

You get exactly what you pay for! Our room was spacious has we had 3 beds and private bath. Bathroom was tiny and needs some work. Shower is a whole on floor with shower curtain right next to sink. The beds were clean and comfortable and had clean towels, one each. Air condition was good. We got room right next to check in desk but wasnt too noisy until morning time. Overall it was an ok stay. Center of Florence is about 10-15 min walk and Parking garage right across hotel is 20e a day. We booked triple room for 50e a night, so we werent expecting high class & surrounding area a little ghetto! We are iffy about staying there again!

Easy walk from train station, this hotel is ideal for those wishing to spend a couple of days in Florence. 10 minute walk from the city, lots of restaurants and cafes close by. Tip - drink your coffee standing up at a cafe, sitting at a table costs you nearly triple the amount. Room was large, as was bathroom - I think we had a room fitted for wheelchair bound people. There was a fair amount of noise from other guests, as well as reception staff watching tv late at night and talking. There was also the smell of cigarettes coming in, even though there was a non-smoking sign.

Hotel located just 100m from main railway station, with a lot of shops around. 15 min walking distance to main city atractions. the biggest disadventage is bathroom. 1st floor one is acceptable but on the 2nd you can have a shower only if you are slim and using toilet is only for those who practise yoga. Low price, low standard but if you are on budget will be decent enough.

I have stayed here before and it is a good value, safe and clean. However both times I experienced guests who came in late at night and were very loud for long periods (until I had to go ask them to be quiet). The amnagement need to caution guests that there are mandatory quiet hours (generaly 0800 to 2200) and then monitor the levels. Breakfast is a bit low quality but free at least.

This is a good price/value ratio. You pay a low but fair price and should expect just about what this hotel offers. It is certainly convenient to the Train Station and about 1 kilometer from the Duomo, less to the Arno riverside area. One problem was very noisy and inconsiderate guests who came in late at night. Obviously this happens in all hotels and is random,i was there 3 nights and the last night was very quiet. One of the reception clerks (Madrellena) was especially helpful and she directed me to a great restaurant with modestly priced high quality meals. I am American but live in Italy and I will certainly stay her again.

Room was nice & clean & we had private bath...some rooms didn't. There was no lift which I thought would create a problem...but the gentleman at the desk came down and brought our luggage up since we were on the third floor. My wife and I stayed here in May 2008 and choose this hotel mainly for location; close to the train station and for the hire-car pick-up (Hertz). The area the hotel is in is not that nice, but for the 3 nights we were there, no problems. I guess for what you have to pay in Florence for accomodation, this hotel was reasonable. It was clean and tidy, but don't expect a lot. Access is via a locked door at street level, that the reception staff (single person) has to operate. When we arrived, we had to wait quite a few minutes before someone answered (probably indisposed!). Anyhow, if you're on a budget like we were, not too bad, although there are probably nicer places to stay in Florence.

Hotel is close to Santa Maria Novella station, though not very easy to find with the map available on venere.com. Sorroundings are not the prettiest, but there`s a nice restaurant right next door.

Great place for a couple on a budget. Location was OK, made better by the cafe down the street where we could pick up fresh pastry and juice for breakfast. Great proximity to train station and good starting point for walking tour of this magnificent city. Shared bathroom was mostly available at any time and usually clean. On the poisitive side, the location was quite good, although the part of town certainly wasn't the most salubrious. I was actually pleasantly suprised by the room - for 35 euros a night, it was perfectly adequate for one person; spacious enough, with air con, and it seemed quite clean. No view, but I didn't expect one. I went for a shared bathroom, which had clear evidence of other users, but this was my choice to save money, so I can't really complain, and there was a hand basin in the actual room for cleaning teeth/shaving. On the downside, it wasn't very quiet (bring earplugs), there was no hot water on my last morning, so I endured a cold shower, and I was told, quite bluntly, that I had to be out of there by 10am (isn't check out time usually midday?). All in all, it's OK, as a no frills base to explore Florence, and it's probably as cheap as a single room in any youth hostel. If you're on your own, or maybe a young couple on a budget, and if you're not trying to impress someone of the opposite sex, you should do OK here. Just don't expect fantastic service or any extras. A great, cheap restaurant is Casalinga on the south side of the river.

A nice hotel with a good price. It has a good location, near train station and some of tourist objects. During our stay there, we had a problem with the heater inside our room. The heater could not warm the room.

The hotel is very difficult to locate. The shower is very small and the curtains does not hold the water in so when you take a shower, the water goes everywhere. By the way, we had a double room with private bath. The night staff does not understand English. The room that we had were pretty clean. Considering the price, the hotle is very good. If you were on a budget, then I would recommend this hotel as you get what you paid for and the rooms are very clean. And it is very close to the terminal-- 7-10 minutes walk, only if you get the right directions (otherwise it may take you half an hour) -- where you could hop on a train to Florence or Pisa (which is what we did)

4 times to Florence. Stayed in a double room en-suite. The hotel was very noisy and a strong smell of smoke in reception area and corridor. It wasn't really value for money. The location seemed a lottle rough. Central enough to the main sights

The rooms were large and it was VERY easy to get to from the train station. It was also easy walking distance to all major attractions. The only drawback is that the bathroom was very moldy and the paint was coming off the bathroom doors. I'm sure this is because when one showered it got the bathroom all wet. The staff was very easy to work with. We asked to check in a night early and had no problems. We even got an upgrade!

Hi, Travelled with my wife. Hotel Excellent. I would most definitely recommend this place. Next time, I come to Florence, I would stay in this hotel. Close to the SMN station. Pity about the Shopowners(i.e. Avoid Shopping in Florence, very rude and arrogant).

Great location, close to train station and walking distance to town center. Excellent value and clean room. No problem with shared bath except for leaking shower base causing bathroom to flood mildly. Smoke from lobby made its way to top floor rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful.
