The price was good for Florence, but you get what you pay for. The facility was adequate, but we had been spoiled by our stay at a nicer Venere 2-star rated location the 2 previous nights so saw this place as a lower quality level.

Great hotel and area, close to all sites, shopping, bars..Don't go if looking for quite place, busy area at night, cars, music...But it was perfect for us, we party all night long..!

I expected quite less from a hotel this priced. I went there with a friend, we stayed in the same room, and we both agreed of the beauty and comfort of the room and the hotel in general. Highly recommended for cheap-travelling!

Location was great for access to train/bus. We found the best Chinese restaurant right around the corner from the hotel, which we ate at two evenings. The only complaint I have is that I left my postcards with the desk person to mail when I checked out and no one has received those postcards!!! Where are they???

Good for the price. In a doggy area, but not far from the center. There were plenty of restaurants and people in the area also at night so it didn't feel unsafe just unfriendly. Air conditioning really works and the communal bathroom is OK (bring flip flops).

You get exactly what you pay for! Our room was spacious has we had 3 beds and private bath. Bathroom was tiny and needs some work. Shower is a whole on floor with shower curtain right next to sink. The beds were clean and comfortable and had clean towels, one each. Air condition was good. We got room right next to check in desk but wasnt too noisy until morning time. Overall it was an ok stay. Center of Florence is about 10-15 min walk and Parking garage right across hotel is 20e a day. We booked triple room for 50e a night, so we werent expecting high class & surrounding area a little ghetto! We are iffy about staying there again!

Small room but very clean, with air con and tv. We had a shared bathroom, but that was clean if a little narrow and in fact we were the only ones using it. A 10 minute walk from central Florence and a 24 hr garage opposite so ideal for travellers by car.

This hotel is well situated for those travellers coming to Firenze by train and has easy access to the historic centre of the city. There are many restaurants/trattorie near the hotel that are quite good and very welcoming. Food is generally higher in Firenze than in Roma.

Hotel located just 100m from main railway station, with a lot of shops around. 15 min walking distance to main city atractions. the biggest disadventage is bathroom. 1st floor one is acceptable but on the 2nd you can have a shower only if you are slim and using toilet is only for those who practise yoga. Low price, low standard but if you are on budget will be decent enough.

Easy walk from train station, this hotel is ideal for those wishing to spend a couple of days in Florence. 10 minute walk from the city, lots of restaurants and cafes close by. Tip - drink your coffee standing up at a cafe, sitting at a table costs you nearly triple the amount. Room was large, as was bathroom - I think we had a room fitted for wheelchair bound people. There was a fair amount of noise from other guests, as well as reception staff watching tv late at night and talking. There was also the smell of cigarettes coming in, even though there was a non-smoking sign.

The Hotel does not have Elevator and we had lot of Luggauge with us. The Old Gentleman helped us and made it easy. One of the Guys understands English But We were Moved by their Helping and Accomodating Nature. Its VERY CLOSE to Station, will Stay Again.

I have stayed here before and it is a good value, safe and clean. However both times I experienced guests who came in late at night and were very loud for long periods (until I had to go ask them to be quiet). The amnagement need to caution guests that there are mandatory quiet hours (generaly 0800 to 2200) and then monitor the levels. Breakfast is a bit low quality but free at least.

We stayed two nights in this hotel. The room was spacious and clean. We did not have a chance to try the breakfast, you will need to get up early to have it. The room wasn't quiet enough, especially the night when you can hear what's happening in the corridor. For two nights, it was ok. The hotel is well situated, not far from the City centre and from the train station.

This is a good price/value ratio. You pay a low but fair price and should expect just about what this hotel offers. It is certainly convenient to the Train Station and about 1 kilometer from the Duomo, less to the Arno riverside area. One problem was very noisy and inconsiderate guests who came in late at night. Obviously this happens in all hotels and is random,i was there 3 nights and the last night was very quiet. One of the reception clerks (Madrellena) was especially helpful and she directed me to a great restaurant with modestly priced high quality meals. I am American but live in Italy and I will certainly stay her again.

For price and location, this hotel was brilliant. Room was nice & clean & we had private bath...some rooms didn't. There was no lift which I thought would create a problem...but the gentleman at the desk came down and brought our luggage up since we were on the third floor. Advertising said breakfast was 3 euros but was included free which was a treat not having to go out and find something. Also there was a nice restaurant only a block from hotel with reasonable prices. Room was very quiet & close to everything.

My wife and I stayed here in May 2008 and choose this hotel mainly for location; close to the train station and for the hire-car pick-up (Hertz). The area the hotel is in is not that nice, but for the 3 nights we were there, no problems. I guess for what you have to pay in Florence for accomodation, this hotel was reasonable. It was clean and tidy, but don't expect a lot. Access is via a locked door at street level, that the reception staff (single person) has to operate. When we arrived, we had to wait quite a few minutes before someone answered (probably indisposed!). Anyhow, if you're on a budget like we were, not too bad, although there are probably nicer places to stay in Florence.

Hotel is close to Santa Maria Novella station, though not very easy to find with the map available on venere.com. Sorroundings are not the prettiest, but there`s a nice restaurant right next door. One has to climb some steps to reach front desk and staff didn`t speak much English. Overall it was a fair hotel for the price paid, because European hotels are quite expensive.

Great place for a couple on a budget. Location was OK, made better by the cafe down the street where we could pick up fresh pastry and juice for breakfast. Great proximity to train station and good starting point for walking tour of this magnificent city. Shared bathroom was mostly available at any time and usually clean. Spacious room had its own sink, which was very convenient. Courteous service, always a smiling face at the front desk.

On the poisitive side, the location was quite good, although the part of town certainly wasn't the most salubrious. I was actually pleasantly suprised by the room - for 35 euros a night, it was perfectly adequate for one person; spacious enough, with air con, and it seemed quite clean. No view, but I didn't expect one. I went for a shared bathroom, which had clear evidence of other users, but this was my choice to save money, so I can't really complain, and there was a hand basin in the actual room for cleaning teeth/shaving. On the downside, it wasn't very quiet (bring earplugs), there was no hot water on my last morning, so I endured a cold shower, and I was told, quite bluntly, that I had to be out of there by 10am (isn't check out time usually midday?). All in all, it's OK, as a no frills base to explore Florence, and it's probably as cheap as a single room in any youth hostel. If you're on your own, or maybe a young couple on a budget, and if you're not trying to impress someone of the opposite sex, you should do OK here. Just don't expect fantastic service or any extras. A great, cheap restaurant is Casalinga on the south side of the river.

The hotel is very difficult to locate. The shower is very small and the curtains does not hold the water in so when you take a shower, the water goes everywhere. By the way, we had a double room with private bath. The night staff does not understand English. The room that we had were pretty clean. Considering the price, the hotle is very good. If you were on a budget, then I would recommend this hotel as you get what you paid for and the rooms are very clean. And it is very close to the terminal-- 7-10 minutes walk, only if you get the right directions (otherwise it may take you half an hour) -- where you could hop on a train to Florence or Pisa (which is what we did)

The rooms were large and it was VERY easy to get to from the train station. It was also easy walking distance to all major attractions. The only drawback is that the bathroom was very moldy and the paint was coming off the bathroom doors. I'm sure this is because when one showered it got the bathroom all wet.

We had a hard time finding the property. It is only 200 meters from the station but it was still difficult. I think the map was probably accurate but it did not help. Firenze has no straight roads and many little ones. We were constantly lost during our short stay. That is not the fault of the hotel. We had a room with a shared bath, but our room had a sink. That was a very nice feature. The price was the lowest rate for our trip. We would definitely stay here again. It would be easier to find the second time!

Florence is expensive and this was the most economical hotel I found. The room was comfortable and while I saw other tourists around me, it was definately away from the really hectic, tourist-packed parts of the city. The hotel recommended a nice restaurant on the corner named something like Venerino. My only gripe would be that some of the other guests didn't feel the need to use the shower curtain in the shared bathroom, and there was standing water on the floor. The bathroom was clean however. I would definately stay there again.

Florence was without a doubt one of my favorite cities on my backpacking trip with 2 friends. Hotel Palazzuolo was very nicely located extremely close to the train station and to everything we needed to get to! The water was turned off for most of the days we were there and were not compensated for it. Although we were not in the hotel room much, we did not have water after a 10 hour bike ride through the Tuscan countryside... when we REALLY needed to shower. But, they did turn the water back on within an hour of our return from that ride. I'd recommend this hotel during the summer, no doubt. The air conditioner was the BEST thing next to gelato in wonderful Firenze.

The hotel was great. The price of the room and the hotel staff were excellent. The hotel had good location since I needed to use the train.

Breakfast is not included but there are several coffee shops very close by and a small supermarket. Excellent location. However the map does not make it clear how to get to the hotel(via Palazzuola is a very long road!)- the hotel is located vertically below the train station, close to where via Palazzuola crosses with Via Melegnano. Its about a 10 minute walk (max)from the station. All the sights are easily walkable.

It is a good hotel for the price. The room had great A/C, and a very good location - 10 minute walk from all the sites, 5 minutes from the Train station. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would go back there again.
