The Pagnini hotel is located in a quiet residential area of the historic centre of Florence, close to the church of Santa Maria Novella and only two blocks away from Piazza di Ognissanti.
The position of the property is truly enviable: easily reachable from the railway station and within walking distance from all the major sights and museums of the city, the Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery and Ponte Vecchio.
The hotel offers numerous comforts and services together with a warm and friendly Tuscan hospitality. The entrance of the early-20th century building is on the ground floor and leads to a large, welcoming lounge where you can relax on cosy armchairs or meet at the bar. The hotel also features wireless Internet access on the ground floor and an Internet Point, subject to charges.

Hotel Reviews Pagnini

GB, Oct 2009
The hotel was about 10 minutes walk from the centre. The area seemed slightly run down but we did not experience any problems. The room was very quiet and spacious with a decent bathroom. Breakfast could be better. It seemed a bit "packaged". The staff were lovely and could not be more helpful. All in all, a very nice hotel.

In many ways the Hotel Pagnini is a pleasant, friendly, welcoming family-run hotel but with some reservations. The decor is attractive and warm, rather like a family home and the room was quite spacious. The shower, as sadly so often seems to be the case, was poor. A fixed shower head made those out of the way bits and pieces harder to rinse, and the slippery floor and clinging curtain made for an unpleasant experience. However, to be fair, it wasn't as bad as Janet Leigh's experience at the Bates' Motel. Secondly, the breakfast was, sadly, the usual poor affair, poor service, little choice- just plain mean and mean-spirited. Little offered and 'extras' like fruit juice and better coffee only given to 'those in the know' I have come across simar examples of this double-standard and it is simply pathetic, quite frankly. Why do italian cafes serve the best coffee in the world and italian hotels the worst? We chose the location for it's proximity to the railway and bus stations for excursions and the hotel for it's price versus quality rating. It's not a bad hotel but with a bit of inexpensive fine tuning, it could be so much better.

We are from the USA although we made the reservations while in Italy. Pagnini Hotel is a family run business and far exceeded our expectations. It's location near the train and bus stations allowed us to do day travels to Sienna, Pisa-Lucca,and Assisi as well as walk the sights and museums of Florence. We extended our stay for another five days for these reasons. The (family) staff was friendly and helpful with fluency in English plus. Clean, great fresh breakfast, safe location. We will always make this our hotel when visiting Florence.

Sept 23 for 3 night stay 1 double bed, shower, toilet, sink (bathroom small). No AC. Large opening window on front street. 15 min walk from train station if you don't get confused with streets. Hotel appears to be on safe quiet low traffic street but at NIGHT!, it seemed to be the street for scooters and motorcycles to go fast on. The weather was warm so without AC the window was open, so sleep was not great. Good Hotel very nice owner and staff but do not stay in room on front street (Montebello)because of street noise. We would stay here again if there was a room available off the street. Good Breakfast. Location is close to river and 20 min walk to Accademia/Uffizi.

The hotel is located away from the main tourist attractions but still only a short walk away. Excellent value for money. Bedrooms were very spacious but bathrooms very small. The hotel personnel were all very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again but would try and book a room at the back of the hotel as the front was very noisy!

A nice clean hotel however shower was very small with only a curtain that clung to you. It is a little bit further from the station than the directions led you to believe but it was still walkable. Also able to walk to main part of town and sights. Breakfast was not as good as other hotels.

Very good hotel and the owners were really friendly. For example, each day after sightseeing we found the air conditioning turned on by the owners so we can find a nice cooled room, even though they didn't know the time we come back. The surroundings were also good, close to the train station (but be careful, the numbering on Florence streets is not normal, so respect the directions in getting to the hotel), and close to some small supermarkets and pizzerias with decent prices.

The Hotel is a quaint little family-managed property situated in the centre of Florence, near to the central railway station and within walking distance of the city's most important sights. The rooms are very clean and quiet. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They also offer an adequate breakfast. We enjoyed our stay!

We loved the hotel it is run by a family and it feels like they really care about your comfort. We had only booked one night but decided to stay another as it was so accommodating and in a really good spot not too far from good restuarants and the river a leisurely walk to the uffizi gallery and other places of interest. We would definatley stay there on our next trip.

The hotel staff was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The hotel and room were clean, quiet and very good-sized, by big-city Italy standards. The location was great...far enough to be quiet for sleeping but close enough to easily walk to everything. It's about a block from the river which is very nice for getting some fresh air and space after full days in the heart of Florence. The parking garage is a block away, and costs 20E/24 hours. That includes a discount you get with the hotel. Otherwise, it's much more. Get additional directions...it's hard to find with just the website directions. The breakfast was very good. There is a nice sitting area on the main floor. You have to ask for the A/C to be turned on in your room but they happily turn it on. We always selected US Dollars as the currency when booking on Venere but the hotels were confirmed in Euros. That could affect your price as the Euro-dollar relationship fluctuate. Despite that, this hotel was excellent value. The hotel is not extravagant in decor, but it is charming. It also has everything you need for a pleasant, comfortable, peaceful, convenient stay in Florence. We would absolutely choose this hotel again.

The hotel suited our purposes - it was clean and comfortable, in a central position, though not on a busy road and within easy walking distance of the main sites in Florence and good restaurants. The staff were very polite and helpful. Our double room was fine, though the single a little cramped. Probably more expensive than we would have hoped, but then again, this is Florence.

Staying at Pagnini Hotel was a delight: sober, good taste environment, quiet area and friendly assistance. The rates were quite reasonable, location not far from various places of interest. About the photos shown on internet: what you see is what you get. No make ups. If we go again to Firenze we would first check with Pagnini hotel.

My son and I stayed here for three days in mid-April. It's definitely one of the best 3-star hotels we have stayed! It's a family-run hotel. The father and daughter team served the front desk and breakfasts during our stay. Both of them were super friendly and helpful. The daughter speaks very good English. The breakfast had very good selections, including cheese, ham, bread, croissants, cereals, apples, milk, juice, etc. The location is also very good -- close to the main rail station and a please walk along the river to Duomo and Ponte Vecchio. Highly recommended!

Friendly staff, tidy room & nice breakfast (bread, cheese, ham, oats). The only thing we don't like is the shower area is quite small which easy to make the floor become wet although we found it is quite common in Italy's hotel. You may need to walk about 15 minutes from Firenze S.M.N. station to the hotel if you carry big luggage with you like us but it's a straight road & easy to find.

i stay there 2 nights with my wife and for the price we paid, it's definitely the best value hotel we ever stay in!! Fantastic people working there. they were so friendly that i felt i returned home. room was big n comfortable, only thing the tv was small but who cares, coz we were there for the sightseeing n not the tv. just follow the instruction given on the web and you will easily find the hotel! probably the only negative was we had to pay for the wireless internet, however with the price we paid for the room, the little extra for wireless internet wasn't a big issue. Overall we enjoyed our stay there and would recommend to all people wanting to visit Florence to stay there....

Hotel Pagnini was a good location to explore Florence and conveniently located to the Stazione. Our host was very welcoming and helpful and the breakfast excellent. This was the best place I've stayed in Italy (I visited twice). It was a very good value for our money. The woman who greeted us was extremely nice and helpful, suggesting places to eat and things to do. Breakfast was good as well. The hotel is also in a nice location because it's not too far from either the Termini or all the "action" of downtown Florence, and yet its in a pretty quiet location far from other tourists. I highly recommend this place.

Welcoming staff with good english. Good location near to river with moderate walk into centre of town. Had mix up at start as i had requested a twin room online and the room was set up as a double. The hotel is situated just 10 minutes walking from the main attractions in Florence. It is on a calm, residential street. The hotel and the rooms are nicely decorated, the staff is nice and helpful and the breakfast is very good. The room is spacious and offers everything you may need for a 2-3 days stay. Our stay was wonderful. The hotel is small and family run. The staff was very helpful. Most spoke good English. The room was clean, quiet, and nicely decorated. In advance of the trip we requested that the hotel make museum reservations and they did. They also gave us useful information about Florence. I'd recommend this hotel to friends and if in Florence again, will stay there. With the exchange rate we paid $160 per night which is more that I usually pay in the US. Relative to the competition it is priced fairly but not a deal. There are no deals in Italy.

Nice hotel. Great breakfast. Nice owners. About a 20 min walk from Duomo and main attactions. Which late at night was not the most comfortable. There aren't any attactions directly around the hotel except a nice walk along the Arno river. Very small shower about 24" square so if you're over 160lbs make sure to ask for a room with a larger shower.
