Being a 2 star hotel this accomodation was excellent. the upkeep of the room was not as good as it should have been and the hall noise was loud when other guests came in or partied. our overall experience was positive.

We stayed at this hotel simply because of its location to the railway station. The rooms were old and outdated and the air conditioning was barely able to keep it "bareable" in July! It is is a bed and location to the station then this place is okay otherwise I would look elsewhere.

Hotel Monica accomodations were basic and what I expected for the price I paid. Leonardo, the front desk staff, however, went beyond expectations to make my visit easier. He contacted the Uffizi for me and saved me hours in line for reservations. He replied to email right away. The rooms are clean and pretty quiet considering they are near to a bus station. I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget and not needing luxury.

Florence is a lovely city. The beuty and things to do made the quality of the accomodation less important. The room was fairly poorly noisy and the bathroom and room itself pretty dated. The tv channels were italian only and there was no internet as far as I was aware. The breakfast was fine and the staff friendly. So the overall experience was positive.

We (husband, wife, 9 yr old daughter and 7 year old son) found the hotel to be good for the price and we loved that we could walk everywhere from our hotel. At night (2 am) the noise on the street was LOUD. Not the fault of the hotel, still not sure why people walked by there (on the way to where??) and why they had to be so loud. This was the only disappointment once my son got over the shower being just a shower in the bathroom without a stall. The breakfast area was lovely, sunny and clean. The food was good with a nice selection to meet everyone's need.

Everything fine, nice hotel, well location, nice room, good breakfast, very friendly personnel, we had a nice stay here. The only weak point is it doesnt have elevator but the hotel is in fact located in a second floor,so maybe for some it is not really necessary. If we´d back to Firenze, we will stay at Monica´s again.

Even though the hotel is rated two stars, the overall quality surpassed three stars. The staff was always friendly and ready to help in any capacity, whether it was making reservations for excursions or suggestions for restaurants. The rooms were spotless and quite spacious. I would definitely stay here again.

Never imagine I can get such a good breakfast with this price. The courtyard is beautiful and very relaxing to have breakfast there. The staff are very nice and helpful. The room is very spacious, and the bathroom is very clean. However, it is located at the far end of the main road, so a bit quiet at night.

We had a very nice surprise when getting in our room, we had our private terrace (the only room in the hotel that has one!) so we were very happy about it. We had a dinner there, it was quiet and fresh. employees are very nice, breakfast are great. I recommend this hotel any time.

What a charming little place. It was on the 1st floor(one flight up) and the receptionist who was there when we came spoke no English. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The terrace was wonderful and the location was an easy block from the train station and the Duomo. We picked up cars in Florence and even had no trouble finding a place to park the cars as we loaded them.

We liked our room. The location was very convenient for travel by train and not a bad walk to the major attractions. The employees were friendly. The breakfast was very basic but alright. AC worked well and our room was quiet. The patio area is attractive. We would stay here again.

Great location, central, close to railway station, very convenient. Friendly, helpful staff. Good value for money by comparison with other hotels (though Italy is very expensive for us). Breakfast was included, and it was satisfactory. Facilities are basic but fine, as we expected in a two-star hotel. There's no lift, but we knew that from website info. Reception is up one floor from the street, and some rooms are up a second floor. Staff helped us carry bags up and down.

We stayed at the Monica for 3 nights in a triple room. Booked this hotel because of its proximity to the train station and the price, and were totally pleased with the choice. It's less than a 5-minute walk to/from the train station, and close to the Market, the Duomo, and most other attractions in Florence. This would be my first hotel of choice on a return trip to Florence. Front desk staff spoke perfect English. No lift, so be prepared to carry baggage up at least one flight of stairs (reception is on floor 1, which to an American is "second floor").

This was a fantastic and wonderful hotel!! The location was just a block from the train station and perhaps about three blocks from the city attractions. The rooms were very clean and nicely furnished, the bathroom and shower were great, the beakfast was delicious, great terrace area behind the hotel, and the most important and best part of the hotel was the staff. The owner, Leonardo, made us feel so at home with his wonderful smile and very friendly personality. He spoke very fluent English and one day he spent hours on the phone making reservations for us while we enjoyed our day in Florence. His smiling face when we returned at the end of the day was a very welcoming sight. The older man, Sergio, was the night manager on duty all night who also prepared the breakfast and was a sweet and kind man. This is a great hotel!!

Excellent location, very close to the train station and Dumo. Breakfast is not very good but acceptable. Room is big and clear, however, not enought lighting... In general, it's good and worth for money.

The staff was very helpful and gave us good direction information so we could enjoy Florence. They had good knowledge of english. I was impressed by the service provided and the only drawback was climbing a full flight of steps with luggage. otherwise it could be a 3*.
