Even though the lady boss was a very friendly lady, she could not speak english and I had difficulties finding the hotel initially. The room that was given to us came with a toilet. However, the bath area and the toilet area was not separated by a partition. Thus the whole toilet will be wet after a bath. The water flow to drain the water during bathing was very slow. The toilet will be flooded if you let the shower run for too long. Worse still, the room has mosquitoes. It was a very unpleasant stay for us.

its a kinda far form the centre of Firenze. The room is not that big, but it is enough for 2 ppl. there are 2 bathrooms. But 1 of them is a tub. You will not probably stand up to have showering(or it will be quite danger to stand on a tub)For the other bathroom, you cant use the tap. That mean, you can wash your hand after you use the tiolet... Actually there is no welcoming for this hostel and you have to put the key on the reception whenever you go out. Frankly speaking, the rating of this hostel is not high, but we choose it because of its cheap price. The price/quality is fair for this hostel. I would recommend this hostel to some low budget tourist.

Losanna is a budget hotel. It was very clean and safe. We were given our own keys and were looked after very well. It proved to be safe for our belongings. You can hear other guests moving around. It was a short walk to the Duomo. Great hotel would recommend it.

I stayed only one night in Losanna. The strongest point of this hotel is the good QualityxPrice relation and the weakness is the bathroom shared. For this, I think it is an cheaper option for single traveller or for young couple on maximum.

The hotel has it's charm. If u're looking for modern facilities... not rifght place for u. Nice antique furniture (no air-conditioner just fan, no TV just... nothing). The lady who runs a hotel is very nice although she speaks little English and locks the door late at night and gets irritated if u wake u up trying to get in.

The owner/manager is a very nice old lady. Although we showed up at 7am before the room was available, she let us use the showers and toilets. It is a bit of a walk (not too bad) to the tourist areas. But the lady helped us with directions and tips for the buses, bank, rail station.

Decent place for the price paid. The Hotel Manager is nice, but speaks very little English, so make sure you know some key phrases in Italian. She is also very worried about electricity costs so the halls are all kept very dark. It's a little eery to roam the halls. There are plenty of bathrooms, so not having our own bath was not an issue at all. Only once was I in the bathroom and someone knocked and I never had to wait for anyone. The bathrooms are kept pretty clean. The room was nice, a much needed fan was included, but the bed was very firm. We did not sleep very well on the beds. The location is great, it's about a 20 minute walk to anything you want to see...Uffizi, Michelangelo's plaza, and Santa Maria Train station. It's about a 5 minute walk to the accademia. The people that stayed at the Hotel were for the most part quiet. We didn't hear a lot of noise at night. We were a little concerned with security because when you leave the hotel they request you just hang your key to your room on a wall along with everyone elses, but we didn't have any issues. Overall, for the price it's a decent place.

This place is also called Penzione Losanna and Albergo Losanna. A very quiet, clean, and tidy place. The 10 rooms seemed almost deserted while we were there, in late February. The older woman who runs the Penzione speaks only in Italian, but we understood eachother on the basics and she was a good hostess. The bread and coffee she serves for breakfast is included in the price. The water in the shower takes a few minutes to heat up but does get hot, though the sink in the room ran only cold water. Simple and got the job done! Close to Accademia.

I booked double room shared toilett & bath, at the price of 33.6 euros !!. (I used a coupon) With that price, the room was quite nice, I think. clean, big, calm, The bad things are the location, a bit far from the central, around 10-15 mins on foot, and only one staff, I think she is the owner, who speaks English not very well, but she was kind and always smile in contrast with any other unkind Italian. I am fully satisfied that I styed there.

Worst place I stayed during my stay in Italy. I stayed at 4star hotels for the same price as this "pensione". I travelled with a baby and an elderly in middle of october, when I asked the owner (Losana) to turn on the heat for both of them she simply said "NO" and that's that. Breakfast consisted of two toasted crackers and jam with coffee. The rooms were so cold and dark, it made you feel as if you were sleeping in the streets. Definately not worth staying!!! with all the money they make, upgrades are at a minimum....

This is a good budget hotel and the lady at the hotel was very friendly. Although she could not speak English she tried her best to give information where she could. Breakfast consisted of 2 fresh breadrolls, jam, chock spread and coffee. Keeping in mind that we only paid 55Eur per night this was more than enough for breakfast. We just did not like the bathrooms very much. When you take a shower the whole floor gets wet. Overall good value for money though. Close to public transport.

Losanna is a little away from the city centre, but we quite enjoyed the walk and it helped us to see parts of Florence we might not otherwise have seen. The hotel itself is not exactly pretty, but at 38 euros for a double per night with breakfast included it worked out cheaper than staying at the hostel and we had privacy and a decent sized room. The service was friendly. The lady who runs the place seems to do everything herself and although she speaks almost no English and our Italian is terrible we found it easy enough to communicate. I would definitely recommend the hotel to travellers on a budget.

A small hotel slightly off the city hyper-center, but all the sites are easily reached (15 minutes walk to get to the Duomo, buses nearby). Nice welcome from the old lady who runs the property. Comfort is simple, and the furniture & decoration look quite old-fashioned, but the hotel is very clean, and all the basics things a budget traveller needs are there (good bed, especially). No air con, but a big electric fan provided (and a quiet room on the back side, allowing to sleep with the window open). We had a room with shared bathroom. As there were 2 common bathrooms, things went smoothly, no wait to access one of the bathroom (maybe also because we got up a bit late ? :o) Only "weak" point : breakfast, which could be improved a bit (especially the deep-frozen bred). But once again, that's a simple and rather cheap hotel (we paid 45€ per night with breakfast included, for a stay in summer season at the end of july), so the value for money was very good in our opinion.

Room was very clean. As for the mosquito problem we brought sprays and plug-in stuff so we had no problem. All rooms now come with fans although we didn't need it as the weather was cool. The lady indeed does not speak much English but you manage somehow. Breakfast is simple and limited but we were OK with it. Shared bathroom was also clean although there was fungus on the shower curtain - There are 2 shared bathrooms and the one with tub is nicer and fungus-less. Neighborhood is super quiet but you can hear people from upstairs and next door quite well. The lady prefers that you pay cash, which we were ready for. It's about 15 minute walk to the center, so not too far but we'd have liked to stay a bit more central. But for 55 euros, it was a very good value for money over all.

Very welcomming hotel to stay in Firenze. If you do not need more than a clean room with bed than Losanna is really the right place. The landlady is a charming person who is ready to help you - she has even lent me her own umbrella as I have forgotten mine at home.

For the really good price we got a good room and a centrally located place to stay. The owner also helped us with the "clearance" of our traffic sins with the police, since we were driving through the inner circle of the city to get to the hotel - which is not allowed in Florence. If you have a car you can encounter problems, there is no parking possibility in front of the pension, you'll have to find parking a few streets further (12 €/day) or go to an public parking place which is 18€/day.

The hotel is an excellent budget-accomodation with its cleaniness and quiteness. After spending long hours walking in florence, me and my 3 other friends were dying to get back to our rooms and get some rest. Showering facilities were also pretty good and very clean, like the sheets and the towels that the kind lady provided us. Don't expect too much from the breakfast, but still the coffee was good. As far as the location is concerned, it is 10 mins of walk to Duomo, which is a hot spot to see and it is also not far from the central station, though it is also walkable from Campo Marte train station as well. Overall, I wouldnt look for any other alternatives if I go to Florence again.

Horrific directions led to a 30 minute walk with heavy bags and constantly asking people for proper directions. Actual bus stop is a 2 minute walk from hotel - instructions are completely wrong. No fan or AC in room, was sweltering during day. Breakfast was nothing special, but not an extra charge either. Was perfectly alright, although I feel I paid too much for what I received. Walking distance to major attractions. Friendly people running it. Night time entry key seems to give problems - you could end up locked out all night if the guests that came in before you did not shut the door in the proper way - so be careful. I would look for another option if returning, but if nothing better found in the price range I wouldn't mind returning.

Clean room, adequette breakfast. Very safe, even if we did have to leave the key at the desk. Traveling with family & stayed first time in this hotel. All was well but the beds needs to be replaced as are old and not upto the standard.

This hotel was basic but very good. The lady who greeted us didn't speak much english but she was very friendly and made herself understood. The room was fine, decor was very dated but we didn't care.

This hotel is very, very basic. We had our own bathroom which helped...but, the shower was a nozel coming out of the wall - no shower curtain. We would suggest keeping the windows closed at all times. The mosquitos ate us alive here! We were never bothered with them while in other parts of Florence. We should have known from the dead mosquitos on the walls from the previous guests. A helpful older lady was working there, but she only speaks Italian...understandably so. The continental breakfast is a bun and melba toast - one per person. The sheets and towels were new and the rooms were quite clean. If you are looking for a place just to sleep then we would recommend this place.

The rooms were very simply furnished but scrupulously clean and always hot water for a shower. Good service & the employee, despite her limited English, did her best to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. Would definately recommend this as a good value, no frills low budget hotel.

Not the nicest hotel, but it was clean, and the owners are friendly. The breakfast which was included in the price was pretty good. It's pretty close to the Campo di Marte train station, but a long walk from everything else.

generally speaking it's good to stay there, but the hotel is a bit difficult to find since it's in a quiet street, and the old lady can't speak much English, so it's a little difficult to communicate. But overall the price vs performance ratio is good.

Great value for money in a nice quiet area out of the way from busy streets, but close enough to the centre for walking there. Very welcoming hostess.

The room was really cold and there was no garage for cars as indicated on the website. We had to park in the street. The walls in the building are so thin that you can here anything that happens next to your room... and the tv running in the next room. Really not quiet!

Florence is an extremely expensive city to stay in. This hotel offered adequate accomodations, including a lovely light breakfast, for a very modest price. The neighborhood is quieter and nicer than some parts of Florence, and it is very close to the Campo Marte station. It is a short 10-15 minute walk from most attractions. We stayed in a double that could function as a triple or quad, and though the decor is antique and hideous, the rooms are clean and spacious. For those who have to share bathrooms, those are clean as well.

The lady cant speak english, but she was very sweet. The rooms were huge, and clean. Nice towels, in comparison to some places. Breakfast is very simple. But its all pretty good for 55euro... you cant go wrong.

All we can say is thank god to the very nice lady that holds this place together. Bathroom is very small, water sprays everywhere when you are having a shower and mosquitoes bite you all night!!! Really couldn't wait to get out of there quick enough....

It is a very simple place with a very elementary decoration. Anyway rooms are very very confortable, spacious and impeccable. The mattresses, towels and sheets are "EXCELLENT"!!!!!!! Hot bread at breakfast is delicious! Vittoriana is a very hard worker. She works a lot in order to make your stay nice and confortable. Fernando and Julieta

Good price/quality rate (if you have in mind prices in Florence). It’s 5-10 minutes walking from the center. We had to share the bathroom, but everything was very clean. The owner is very nice, she gives a lot of information if you ask. The breakfast was good: coffee, bread, mermelade, butter… I should come back.

Sehr einfach. Kein Komfort. Kein Zimmer mit Bad bestellen, da Bad im Korridor viel angenehmer. Freundliche Bedienung, allerdings musste man oft warten. Liebloses Frühstück.

For those on a budget you could do no better than to book into this hotel. The rooms were clean (though basic) and the establishment was situated in a very pleasant residential area of the city about 10 to 15 mins easy walk to the Duomo etc. Realistically all the major attractions are within half an hours stroll. There is also a frequent bus service that runs from a stop about 2 to 3 mins walk away (very handy for connections with the station etc.) The hotel is also conveniently situated for forays into the Santa Croce area where there are numerous restaurants and bars etc. that have more of a local feel than the more well known areas (prices are also cheaper). There is also a market about 10 mins away which is worth a look at. We intend to use this hotel for further holidays in Florence in the near future. Incidentally the lady in charge was very welcoming and accomodating. Highly reccomended.

Someone said on this page that the problem is the hostess who can speak only italy. I would say this was just fun because she is so talented to use other way to communicate. Be patient! We loved her. She is an angel.

We had the bad luck that there was construction work at the house front so we couldn't open a window and for that reason the room was dark and clammy. But the nice elderly housekeeper makes every effort to ensure the comfort and enjoyment of the hotel patrons.

I really like the space in the rooms and the location of this hotel in the centre. There is some noise during the night from the street if the room is on the road side. The employees competence is excellent. Plan for a budget for the car parking as it is expensive in Florence, and there is no free parking around the hotel.

It's a nice place, although it’s a little far from the city centre, the facilities are good enough and the personnel speaks little English.

Owner serves tea with one tea bag to large teapot. We didn't have language skills to ask for one tea bag per person. Coffee is a much better bet ! Senora Martini spoke no English which was a shame as most of the guests were English speaking. Hotel about twenty minutes walk from railway station. Not easy pulling a trolley case along footpaths as most are cobbled surfaces. A pity that like some other European hotels both taps over basin in room ran only cold water.
