Horrible stay. The hotel if you can call it that is on the 2nd floor of a nice looking building with a capricious elevator. the room was spacious, bathroom small, bed very uncomfortable. We didn't sleep a wink. Our window was looking at someone else's laundry and there was underwear hanging!! The staff was nice and helpful with the map, the breakfast adequate. One warning if you are overweight you won't fit onto the toilet or into the shower because it's so narrow. It was close to sightseeing but then again in Florence everything is closeby

Lovely people ... Close to the action and sites..Enough breakfast to start the day.. Gave us free internet which was good timing as we had a bit to do on the net.. Good water pressure in shower and stayed hot.. looked after our gear for a few hours before check-in and after check-out.. Our room was on the front where the buses stop and start...but considered it wasn't so bad ..Only one night so thats ok and at 40 Euro a bargain.. If light sleeper ask for room toward the back. Highly recommended..

This is a clean and simple hotel, with a decent breakfast. Just don't take a room on the street that fronts the hotel. Buses idle right out front as they prepare to go to the very nearby train station, streets are washed at a god-awful early hour with pressure washer. Nasty. But in the back room it was blissfully quiet. Nice enough to move me late in the day on my second day there, since I had not stopped to ask to be moved in the morning. Very nice people, not on scenic street, but only blocks away. Definitely recommend for a pleasant and reasonable hotel in Florence, but no street side rooms!

The management at the front desk was absolutely warming, helpful and patient. The hotel location was fabulous as it was SO close to the train station and easy to get to the tourist sights. I would have liked to seen more variety for breakfast, but this comment is a very small/picky item.

Inexpensive hotel close to station in excellent position and not too far from centre - an easy stroll. Good sized room and bathroom. Breakfast okay but exceptionally cheap- less than the cost of a single coffee in the city centre. Also exceptional service from staff. If you just want a low cost hotel to rest your head it's highly recommended. A bit noisy and so have a drink or take ear plugs (or both)!

I stayed at Hotel Lombardi with my friend and we loved it. The hospitality was amazing. Vincenzo and Giorgio are fantastic. They were both so warm and friendly. Vincenzo speaks and understands English very well. Always a smile on his face and more than happy to help with anything. Both Vincenzo and Giorgio helped us plan our days, make reservations and gave excellent directions. The hotel itself is very basic but a wonderful stay!!!!!

I stayed at the Lombardi for 2 nights. The best thing about it was the staff at the front desk. They were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is good also ... Right beside the train station on a nice street and only a 10 minute walk from the centre. My only complaint was the noise. My room, which was fine, was overlooking the street and I got woken up early on both mornings. I was also very near the reception, so I had noise coming from there also. I'd definitely go back though (if I could get a room off the street)!

Very near the main station and all the events and monuments. You can easily take a bus to pisa, siena etc. the reception is very helpfull and can advice you well about travalling around. Good relation price quality. only one night a week all the cleaning cars are driving through the street. But you can ask what night it is and close the window and put on the ventilation.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lombardi. It was close to the train station which made our arrival and departure so easy. The hotel was clean and priced as advertised. The included breakfast was great...cereal, yogurt, breads, juice and coffee/cappiccino. We would definately stay here again. Florence is a walkable city and this hotel had many restaurants nearby. Very convenient!

My compliments to both Vincenzo and Alesio, front desk managers at the Hotel Lombard. Both were extremely accommodating; they found an extra room for our party with virtually no notice--and at a great price! The rooms were large by any standard,as well as clean. And the included breakfast was great too. The Hotel Lombard will be my first choice in Firenze from now on because of the price, location, quality of the rooms and the great staff.

I prefer to stay in the center when I visit Florence but this time I was only there for a couple of nights so I wanted to stay near the train station. The Lombardi is in a very convenient to the train station. It's also a good value and the people who run it are great. My only complaint would be that a child in the next room kept me awake each night I was there--the walls are very thin.

The hotel is located in an excellent location. Only 3 minutes walk from the train station and 10 minutes to Uffizzi and the surrounding shopping area. I am a single lady traveller. My friends kept reminding me Italy is very dangerous with pick-pocket and other safety concern. I personally find Italy is quite safe but of course you need to be cautious about your personal belongings which is a common sense in anywhere of the world. The area of the hotel location is very decent and safe. The breakfast is very good with good yoghurt, juice, several kind of pastries and warm bread rolls. The breakfast room is very clean and comfortable. (the breakfast which I had in Rome and Venice were pathetic). I would recommend this hotel to any traveller.

On the day we arrived at The Lombardi we had experienced a little bit of Italy, a train strike. To our surprise when we walked in to the front desk the manage jumped and cheered our arrival. Later after we had rested he sent us to a great little local restaurant that was close to the hotel. The staff was helpful and attentive. I solidly recommend this hotel and I will stay there the next time I return to Florence.

We had two single rooms, one facing the courtyard the other the street. Mine was really quiet while the one to the street is pretty noisy after 6 am according to my friend. The guy at the reception, like the other staff, was super nice, helpful, and he could speak English very well. I definitely recommend the place.

We chose this hotel for its location and price, it really is a very good relationship price / quality. Very close to main station in a quieter street than others nearby. Lift was very helpful since we had heavy luggage. Staff was very helpful on giving us hints, internet free on lobby. Hard to find another hotel with same location and price level.

After 4 nights of garbage not taken out and mouldy bathroom in B&B in Rome, Hotel Lombardi is a pleasant change. Alessio, Vincenzo and another elderly pleasant man take pride in managing this charming place well. A map and tips on good places to eat are provided. Breakfast starts early at a reasonable time at 7.30am which is a good time to start the day. Breakfast is nice with good coffee and warm fresh croissants. Bed is made and bathroom clean daily. Bathroom has been renovated, clean and functional. Garbage is cleared daily. There is a mini bar (fridge) to keep my chocolates. The location of the hotel is great -it's one street behind the S.M. Novella main station where bus & Trenitalia are within convenient reach for day trips to Siena, Lucca & Pisa. Despite being near the main station, the street is 'clean' with no prostitutes or drug addicts hanging around & it is safe. The hotel helps with my advance booking at Galleria dell'Accademia & Uffizi Gallery. My booking reference were sent to me via email & given to me on the day I checked in. I am impressed with their efficiency. The Italian plumbing system is built into the wall. Therefore, your neighbour knows when you flush the toilet. It's the same everywhere even in Rome. On the whole, Hotel Lombardi is a pleasant place to stay. It's a clean and friendly place, and the surrounding is safe and convenient. I would recommend it to my friends and family.

Hotel Lombardi was an excellent value considering proximity to the train station, helpfulness of the staff, and cleanliness of the rooms. My family of 2 adults and 2 college/high school ages boys were a bit cramped in the quad room. Its OK for a night or 2 but gets a little to close beyond that length of stay. Overall, highly recommended!

Very convenient for the station and for all the local sights. Hotel suggests a quiet room at the back but you need a balcony, so the front is better. Typical urban noise slightly supplemented by the proximity to the bus station a block away so there was some bus traffic down the street. Also the neighboring hotel's entrance is off the street but across the alley from some of the rooms. No loud music from that direction but lots of happy traveller sounds. Great proximity to the bus and train station for travellers. WIFI listed is additional charge with time increment card (containing username/password) purchased at main desk. Small computer by main service desk available for use. Other WIFI devices may or may not be able to get full service from the system. Very pleasant, helpful, multilingual staff.

The one overwhelming feature of this hotel was that the managers were all very welcoming and knowledgeable and helpful. Restaurant recomendations, museum reservations and a general feeling that they would do whatever we wanted without feeling like we were bothering them. The breakfast was adequate for Europe but nothing fancy. The rooms were clean and quiet and the hotel is very close to the train station so if you are arriving by train, look no further. Great shopping close by and great restaurants everywhere. The location is also great because you can walk to everything.

Reception staff exceptionally friendly, and with good linguistic skills. We were leaving early, but the porter offered us a breakfast 45 minutes before the 'official' restaurant opening time. We were provided with tea, coffee, croissants and preserves, and was apologetic that we were too early for his fresh bread delivery! Located perfectly for the railway station, or city exploring, one of the most welcoming and friendly hotels we have ever stayed at. Will definately use again.

A very nice 2 star hotel. The room was plain, but big enough. The bathroom was a bit small, especially the shower stall. Bathing a 2 and 4 year-old in it was a bit challenging. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit better than other places we stayed. Yogurt was offered as well as a variety of pastries (as opposed to just croissants) and coffee was good. We appreciated the mini fridge in the room as well. The asking price for internet use was steep so we skipped around the corner to the internet cafe nearby. Hotel Lombardi was very close to the train station and bus terminal, a big bonus for us. Staff also assisted with reservations at the Accademia. Everything in Florence was within walking distance.

The place is a dump. Yes, the room was large with high ceilings, but it had the charm of a gymnasium. My daughter and I felt unsafe as the "front desk" was empty at times, and any one could come off the street and wander. This hotel had paper thin walls, and so you could hear people talking from down the hall. The two saving graces were that we were only there for one night, and the breakfast room was clean.

Very convenient to train terminal (5 minutes walk) within very pleasant surroundings. Near tour operators, outdoor market and restaurants. As quiet and appointed as can be expected in Europe. Staff spoke very good English and very helpful.

Everyone at hotel lombardi was very friendly and helpful. The room was quite spacious. The only small thing was the shower, it was quite tiny, but do-able for a few days. We even had a little balcony off the room to step outside and get freshair in the morning. The breakfast they served was just fine, breads with jelly, cheese or chocolate spreads, pastries, cereal, and an assortment of drinks all served in a cute little cafe style room. The hotel is located on the 3rd floor and the building only has a small elevator. I was traveling with only a backpack so taking the steps wasnt a problem for me, but my friend did have a giant sized suitcase, so she had to squeeze into the elevator with it to get upstairs. If you have a big group you would have to do this in shifts. I took the stairs as a free form of exercise since i wasnt going to the gym while on vacation. Enjoy your stay!

Was a good bargain for the price. It is very close to the S.M.N. train station. Breakfast is good and the staff was quite friendly and helpful. Negatives: The room was rather unimaginatively furnished, rather bare. Also, be sure to ask for a room overlooking the street, our window opened to the service shaft and had a funky smell coming from the shaft. The main stairwell of the property also seems to always have a weird smell.

Located in the heart of the city, just walking distance from both the main train station and the dome, the hotel is small, but aesthetically pleasing. Despite the closeness to all major spots the hotel is situated in a quiescent alley. Hotel staff is simply great and very, very helpful...for whatever is needed: restaurant recommendations, city maps or any other information requested from them. The hotel is no ritzy kind of place, but it offers clean rooms, friendly staff, a great location, and - for Italian measures - a good breakfast.

The service and location are excellent!!!The owners were so nice that really made us feel at home.We both got serious cold when we arrived in florence. The owner told us kindly where to find a good drugstore. We asked some hot water and they offer us a pot and two cup with teabag.when we ask them to call another B&B because we lost SD card. They are very patient and kind to call 3 times to make sure we can get it back.....I feel the service they offer are better than 5 star.Because their attitude and smile are so sincere that mkae you feel they are your friend. The rooms are warm and equipped everything you need. The pictures on the website were not taken well. The real room and facility are better. The location can't be better. It's very close to the train.I didn't find other hotels closer to the train station. When you arriving by car, a man is coming and taking your vechile away, without giving back the key. Yes, you have to leave your car open, you do not have the key, and you do not even have a paper! But, it is working! When you need your car, they bring it back to you wihout any problem. It is a strange habit in Italy, almost incredible in East Europe.

The location of this hotel was ideal, being only 10 minutes from the station and 10 minutes from the Duomo. The staff were very helpful. The room (which was for a family of four), although small, was clean and had plenty of towels etc. The large double bed was comfortable. The only minor problem was that the room had an odour of stale tobacco. An excellent small hotel at a reasonable price.

Only thing that was a little bit not perfect was that our room was not warm enough for us though it was not a huge issue at all. the rooms were very nice and so was the staff. the prices were good. and they were so close to everything it was great

Good priced hotel in central location, walking distance to all major attractions. Breakfast average. Shower in room extremely small, but read this in reviews but thought they were exaggerating. They were not!!! Would recommend this hotel for short stay in Florence.

Even though it said that the room was non-smoking, it was more than obvious that smokers had been in there. There was a very strong smoke odor in the room, and that was unpleasant.

Hotel Lombardi is excellent value for what you get. Staff were very helpful and friendly, breakfast was good and the room was very clean. Hotel is less than 5 mins walk from the main train station in Florence and it's an easy walk to all the main attractions. The only complaint would be the noise - street as well as hotel (walls are quite thin). Best to ask for a room at the back if you're a light to medium sleeper. But we may have been given our room as it's the only one with a balcony and we were staying a week.

A warm greeting at recption which is manned 24 hours by English speaking staff. they instantly provide you with a city map and detail key locations. Spacious room with ceiling fan, fridge and tv. The lockable cupboard which houses the fridge also has room for storing valuables. The bathroom is adequate in terms of space. The continental breakfast was good and the location was excellent, two minutes walk from the train station and no more than 5-10 minutes from the major sites. Overall, a good hotel for a short break.

I found the Lombardi hotel very clean. Room was cleaned every day with lovely clean towels. The staff both at the front desk and reception was very friendly and accommodating. They were also helpful as to where to eat and directions if needed. The hotel is approximately 5 minutes walk from the Florence train station which was very handy after a flight and train travel from Rome. There was a bit of noise early in the morings from traffic, but with the window closed, it was difficult to tell. The a/c was wonderful as it was very hot in Florence.

I found this a charming hotel and was very happy with it. It has a lovely breakfast room and that was our first hotel in Italy. The location to the train and all the sights was perfect for walking and I highly enjoyed it. It also prepared us for the smaller size European shower stalls !

I found that Lombardi was a great hotel. The people working there were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and big with this price. The location was very convenience. Breakfast was great too. Lombardi was the best hotel among the other hotels I stayed in Europe. I highly recommend this hotel and will go back to Lobardi when I visit Florence again.

If you need a modestly priced hotel within easy walking distance of the railroad station, and a 10-minute walk from the center of the city, then this is the perfect place. Everything was as advertised, and the staff was helpful and friendly throughout. The location was slightly noisy, but not enough to interfere with sleep. I would highly recommend theLombardi as a classic 2-star hotel: convenient, well-kept, friendly, and easy on the budget.

The staff at the hotel are wonderful. The location is perfect: walking distance from the train station, laundry mat, tourist areas. There is also an elevator in the building for those who require it because of luggage. As a single, female traveller I felt safe in this location. Will be staying here next time I am in Florence.

We found the Lombardi very conveniently placed. It's easy to access by bus (€4) from Peretola airport. It's very close to both rail and bus stations without being affected by their noise. Similarly it's within easy walking distance of the main tourist spots of the city and any number of eating establishments (both good and bad). This geographic convenience helped our stay very much. The hotel desk is staffed by a number of English speakers, all of whom were only too eager to help us in any way. The room we had (101) was fine. It had a small balcony which allowed us fresh air and the en suite was kept clean throughout our week's stay. The shower was very small but everything worked well. Breakfast was Continental but more than adequate and was served in a small but pleasant room from eight till eleven (I think). We would recommend this small hotel. It wasn't perfection but then it didn't try to be and it served our purposes very well. It did lack a room in which to rest during the day.

The Lombardi was pretty much what I expected -- small but clean room, no bath but a good shower. Breakfasts (continental) were served from 7am and were OK. Location was my reason for choosing the Lombardi -- it's very close to the train station as well as the bus link for the airport. Overall, it is a good choice for someone who has never been to Florence and so doesn't know the city.

What a lovely suprise, this Hotel has been one of the Highlights of our stay in Florence, Reception was great and so helpful the room was a pleasure to be in. The shower was a little small but adequate and breakfast while not adventurous was more than enough to start the day. I would have no hesitation in going back to the Lombardi if we were to return to Florence. I would recommend it to anyone. Great value for money

Great location. Great people. Great breakfast. However, the room was a little disappointing. The "double" was actually two single beds pushed together with a noticeable crack in the middle. And the beds were too hard to be comfortable. Surroundings are a bit loud at night, but not too big of a concern. I paid 90 E but would try to find another place for that price. But if you get a good deal, Lombardi is a comfortable place for a night or two.

The only flaw I could find with the Hotel Lombardi was the high noise level - not a result of street noise or rowdy guests, but simple everyday or evening transactions and conversations at the front desk and the coming and going of guests during the night. The reason I surmise for this is very high ceilings and cement floors - A LOT of echo. Nothing to do about the ceilings of course, but the addition of wall to wall carpeting would cut the noise in half. Otherwise, my stay was wonderful, I could sleep just fine with ear plugs, the staff were perfect, and the location next to ideal. Thanks Hotel Lombardi!
