Excellent hotel. We stayed here for two nights. It's a perfect location to visit all the major sites in Florence - we traveled exclusively on foot. The owners were exceedingly helpful - allowed us to drop our bags off before check-in, and brought them to our room for us, and then also let us leave our bags after check-out until we were ready to leave the city. Great breakfast: typical croissants, yogurt, toast, and coffee. I highly recommend staying here. There are some stairs to climb, like at most hotels in Europe, so if that's a problem you may need to look elsewhere.

This hotel had the feeling of a hostile grandmother's lair. The quaint rooms, obsessive compulsive instructions on what not to/to do in the room, and dated decor might have been somewhat charming had it not been for the terrible service (outright unhelpful) and dismissive staff. Service and the owner's frugality are the real downfalls here. Try to find somewhere else if you can.

I travel constantly for my work. Including tin huts in the poorest parts of the world, Locanda de' Pazzi was my worst experience. I normally use other competing sites and have done for years, but I thought I'd try Venere. Unfortunately there was an error while booking, which resulted in one good confirmation email sent to me - so that from my end everything appeared fine - but two bookings sent to Locanda de' Pazzi (We discovered upon arrival). I'm completely understanding that errors occur, the people at Venere seem competent and helpful after talking to them. This issue did reveal the true character the owner, Tommi. He wanted to charge us for the room he'd put aside. He would not call Venere, but did tell me to. Turns out, the hotel had many empty rooms, so the room put aside due to had not in any way displaced a potential customer. There was absolutely no loss of business through the technical error - so simply not charging for it and deleting the order from Venere is the obvious solution. Of course I tried explaining this basic logic, but no, Tommi wanted free money in exchange for nothing. I spent an hour on the phone with Venere, who seemed genuine, but when they called Tommi to solve the issue he (in front of me, on hold) yelled at them "It's a no show!" From then on Tommi pretended he couldn't see or hear me. Seriously, it was insane... Then it somehow got worse. Through the night I was the one letting guests in because I was the only one there! The buzzer from the street was right outside my room, and it just went on and on, so I got out of bed, blocked open the doors, went down the stairs and let in 6 different guests throughout the night. I gave the first confused guy my towel because he looked like he was in town on important business, he took some keys and slept alright. Better than the street option he was staring down. There are many OTHER options available to you around this price in this area. Take one.

Under maintained and uninterested staff. Wi fi and aircon never worked in room..it was obvious given the age of much of the apparatus that trying to make it work was a waste of time. Power sockets few, and aged. Bathroom was poor and not pleasant to be in.

This is a small, basic, but clean and comfortable hotel. The low season prices are quite affordable. The hotel is located in a very convenient area, an easy walk to the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, and most other areas of the center. We walked there from the train station, but it was a bit of a hike. When we arrived, there was no one to let us into the hotel, because the owner had run out to get something to eat. This is a very small hotel, so I would advise informing them of the approximate time of your arrival to avoid problems. She was very apologetic, and the hotel on the floor above was very helpful and allowed us to leave our bags there for a few hours. Other than this initial mishap, the service was impeccable. The hotel is on the second floor (third American style) with no elevator, so that may be a problem for people with limited mobility. It's a no-smoking hotel, but there was a definite whiff of cigarette smoke coming from the breakfast bar area; maybe one of the employees smokes in there. The rooms are small but attractive and comfortable, with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was modern and functional. The public area is very small. There is a good and varied breakfast buffet, rare in such small hotels. The wifi was adequate, although at times the signal was weak. There are numerous restaurants and pizzerias in the vicinity, and a small fruit and vegetable market nearby. We didn't agree with the hotel owner's restaurant recommendation; just follow your nose. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel, especially at low-season prices. It's about the best I've found in Florence, where high prices and stars don't guarantee quality.

the room was humble but clean, with tv and air conditioned. The staff of the hotel was friendly and professional, really nice persons. The position of hotel was very good, 10 minutes from central station and 5 minute from historical centre of Florence. It's a good option if you need a central but cheap and unpretentious hotel.

The price of the rooms is very attractive and the staff very friendly and helpful. I can recommend it wholeheartedly and I would return there for a further stay in Florence.

you definitely pay for the location when you stay at this hotel. close walking distance to many of florence's hot spots: 5 mins to duomo, 5-10 to santa croce, 5-10 to uffizi/ponte vecchio, 15 to the train station. great restaurants in the area (i reccommend acqua al due. great value for quality of food and only 5 mins away). the included breakfast is decent and the owners are very nice, especially the woman. when she realized we were siblings traveling together she changed our rooms so we had seperate beds and said we could have emailed ahead to request that. the room was a good size and has air conditioning but the cleanliness of the bathroom was questionable. the shower is just from the wall so no stall and it would be helpful to have something in the bathroom to wipe/dry off the floor with after one person showers.

An excellent B & B within walking distance of the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio and the Academia. Friendly and helpful staff. An excellent lunchtime panini can be had at the Antic Noe under the arch leading into the Piazza San Pier Maggiore in which was an excellent restaurant for evening meals called I Ghibellini.

Slight hiccup on arrival but all soon sorted. Tony was very helpful, happy to hold onto bags after we checked out until we returned much later. I stayed in the dreaded room 4 but had no disturbance at all - previous guest must have been a very light sleeper! It was in an excellent location for a quick stay where you want to be a stones throw from everything. Nothing was more than 10mins on foot.Good value and very comfortable beds.

Small hotel located on 2nd floor, no lift. If you don't want a sleepless night avoid room 4.which is next to a communal toilet/bathroom and the hotel's heating/plumbing water storage tank. There was the sound all night of the tank being filled with only 20 sec quiet periods every 20 mins. This was pointed out politely to the owner the following morning who just shrugged his shoulders and indicated there was nothing he could do about the system. I suggested a "below water level fill system" to cut out noise but he chose not to understand and did not say goodbye The en suite bathroom was an adequate size but was of the "wet room" type. Bed was comfortable, the floor was ceramic tiles so very cold underfoot for the winter. Breakfast was simple, cereals, bread, sweet pastries but no meat, eggs or cheese.

Staff was excellent. But the hotel room appeared to be in the process of renovation and hence things should really look up in the months to come. Currently they had some problems like absence of telephones in rooms etc. Although there might be some problems in the infrastructure, the management more than made up for it with their warmth, care and personal attention

You get perfect value for money. You are nearly in the center of Florence (you reach the Piazza della Signoria in 2 minutes on foot!!). The hospitality is unique I think. You feel a bit, like another "family-member" of the "Locanda-de-Pazzi-Family". All in all it was great, I'd book a room again at this location.

The hotel is a short walk from the Duomo and about 15 minutes from the station. It is an area with a lot of local interest including restaurants and markets not on the tourist trail. The staff were very helpful especially with regard to the problems relating to volcano affected flights. My outbound was cancelled so I missed my first two nights but was only charged for one.

Directions to find the hotel could be better for someone walking. It's on the second floor which might present a problem for the elderly or someone carrying large cases. My first room, a double, would have been too small for two and the noise from the bathroom/air con was awful. Luckily the next room (changed without problems), a single (small), was great, albeit thin walls, plumbing noise but I am a light sleeper. Breakfast was good, eggs and fruit, or cake (and cereal, yoghurts) and the coffee was also good (not always the case in a pensione!). Location great. I liked the owners very much. Would stay again.

Great place in a dead-end street, so devoid of traffic, but the noisy and popular trattoria in front of the hotel might disturb light sleepers like myself. Manager and family members were very helpful; the breakfast was - by Italian norms - sufficient, but some cheese or meat might even improve it. Very well kept, both room and communal bathroom and away from the commercial hustle and bustle imminent near the train station, but nevertheless very well situated less than 100 meters from the Duomo and 300 meters from the ultra-posh new Four Seasons hotel.

An excellent little place, a hidden gem we'd heard nothing about it before we stayed but it was perfect for us. Very reasonable price esp. including breakfast and ensuite. Friendly staff & great location, just a few mins walk from the Duomo and really close to the bars and restaurants of Sante Croce. Room was great for the price - hotel is on 2nd floor but unless you're very immobile it's no problem. Great little bakery just over the road does mini pizzas perfect for taking away for lunch. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel! ;)

Our first night was great-no noise as at the back of the Hotel but 2nd night we were on the street side so lots of partying happening under our window. Also no lift so elderly people would have trouble carrying their bags up 2 flights of stairs.
