Hotel Le Due Fontane - Florence

I have been very well at Hotel Le Due Fontane beacuse the room was very nice and equipped with all the comforts possible. Surely I will return.

Dear Sirs the hotel is very old and really it´s like a two stars hotel,not 3 stars the minibar was empty; they didn´t change the towels.The breakfast is very poor. the furniture of the rooms was very old, also. the situation is very good, the only good thing

They are helpful and pleasant. I would recommand the traveller to stay there, since the location is very central.

We love the hotel and the area where it is located. The hotel has been remodeled, but they have eliminated their sitting lobby. It is your room or nothing. No fault of the hotel, but the area around the surrounding piazza is often filled with "street peole" at night and they can be very loud, late into the night! But for location, this hotelis perfect since it is only a few blocks from the center of Florence

Posizione fantastica, a 50 mt dal duomo. Colazione ottima e abbondantissima. Personale accogliente e disponibile: nel periodo in cui ci siamo stati (Gennaio) l'affluenza turistica in città era al minimo e ci hanno consentito di parcheggiare davanti all'hotel (cosa che in altri momenti non è possibile), risparmiandoci il costo del garage. L'unico inconveniente, non dipendente dall'albergo, ma abbastanza fastidioso, è il fatto che la via laterale è ritrovo notturno di personaggi che schiamazzano e fanno rumore: le camere che danno su tale lato sono poco rilassanti. Comunque ci torneremmo.

Room was very average and tired Maybe we got a dud - the bathroom was a classic - toilet was nearly in the shower and a tad grotty!!!! Facilities pretty average and for the price thought could have done better On the plus side - overlooked the piazza which was nice look around

I have been to this hotel a few times. I live the location and the hotel itself, but they have vagrants that sit outside in the square and talk and yell most of the night. When I asked the hotel manager if something could be done he said that they were not doing anything illegal so the police would do nothing.

There was some confusion (they thought I had booked for only one night) and they initially gave me a dark room with a small window into a dusky light well (too small and too deep to be called a courtyard.) Upon request, they promptly found me another room on an upper floor with two windows on a side street. Hotel Le Due Fontane is located in a building on the Piazza SS. Annunziata, and indeed forms a part of the enclosure of the Renaissance space. My room had a small ‘vestibule’ area with a dresser and one entered the bedroom area through an archway. The high ceiling (probably 13 or 15 feet) made the relatively modest floor plan seem more spacious. The room was well outfitted with a firm, supportive mattress and a small, but usable bathroom. The two windows allowed an oblique view of the facade of the ‘Ospedale degli Innocenti’ (by Brunelleschi) and provided plenty of daylight and air. However, due to the close proximity of the building across the street, one felt the need to use the curtains at all times for privacy. The buffet breakfast was served in an adjacent cafe space and comprised of a continental style breakfast, supplemented with cold-cut meats and cheese. The self-serve coffee from an automated espresso machine was quite good. The location is great, because it is central, but not in the tourist-heavy area of town. I started each morning by re-visiting the splendid interior of SS. Annunziata and taking in the tranquility of the Piazza SS. Annunziata. The next time I stay here, I’d request a room along the front of the building, for the view.

We found this hotel to be extraordinarily noisy. Our room faced the street and the single pane windows did nothing to damp the noise level. The room was fairly large (particularly the bathroom)and clean but the bedding left a bit to be desired. The staff were friendly but elusive. We were never greeted on the way in or out. We expected a bit more for nearly 200euro/night

A good central Firenze Hotel with a very good location. Sound isolation of doors could absolutely been far better noice from corridor may be annoying.
