Excellently positioned about 2 blocks from the Dom and within walking distance to many other Florence tourist targets. The staff was extremely helpful, the rooms weren't fancy or spacious or anything special, but were clean. The breakfast was good. The elevator was the tiniest I've ever seen, an obese person would not fit through the door. Despite being rated for 3 persons, 2 persons, with 3 handbags and a kid would not fit. The hotel is rather hard to find as it does not have a prominent sign at the street, but if you go by the street number it is where you would expect it.

Great location easy to find close to the station and the Dome. Staff were very helpful with ideas of what to do and how to get there. Front desk was always manned (24/7) with helpful multi-lingual people. Breakfast as good as anywhere in Italy.

Best place to stay in Florence, no doubt. Our room was small but we expected it to be so considering we had a junior double room. However everything else was above our expectations so we will definitely be returning to this hotel again, next time we're in Florence.

Hôtel très bien placé près de la cathédrale. Chambre et salle d'eau confortables, très propres ; le petit déjeuner est copieux et bon, avec un bar qui fournit expresso ou cappuccino, dans une pièce aux dimensions correctes.

This is a lovely little hotel operating on the 3rd floor of a traditional italian house. Our room was really small but very clean and recently renovated. The hotel is very close to the Duomo and all major florence sites. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. Would stay there again for sure.

Although the rooms are clean and the staff was helpful and nice, this is not a true hotel. It is more like an upscale hostel. The breakfast was a disaster, the fruit was old and half rotten and the bread was hard as a rock. I would not recommend La Venere to anyone, unless you truly do not care about where you sleep when on vacation.

This is a great little hotel. Location is excellent, two blocks from the duomo, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Sheila was particularly wonderful. Our room faced Via Cavour which was long on Florentine atmosphere but not conducive to sleep. Bring earplugs or request a room in the back of the hotel if you want to sleep.

very good hotel, well worth the money! siutated near the Duomo itself, the hotel is central to all tourist attractions and is walking distance to the train station. The staff were really friendly, they gave us lots of good information i.e. cheap place to eat, good places to visit etc. The rooms were small but was adeqent. Would definitely stay there again.

This is a boutique hotel with excellent taste in furnishings. We stayed in the Junior Double room for the first night and changed it to the Classic Double Room for the remaining nights. The Junior Double room is extremely cramped for two people with small luggages. The Classic Double room is decent size and be sure to ask for a quiet room if you are noise conscious. The hotel is located on a noisy traffic street and San Lorenzo market is right behind it. Be sure to check out the leather jacket in the market. We want to thank all of the staffs we met. They were all very helpful and took care of us while we were recuperating from the cold. The only downside of this hotel is the WIFI charge which is quite expensive.

The location is very good (5 min walk from the Duomo), we could walk to any site. The rooms were clearly refurnished not long ago : I might not have picked that style for my home, but it was all nice and clean. The breakfast offer was rather extended (excellent mozarella). Everyone in the staff was very friendly. Upon arrival, the receptionist gave us a map and pointed out for us all the touristy places and added some tips like where to have nice and cheap ice creams, where to rent bikes... The only bad thing was: our room was overlooking the "via Cavour" which was a bit noisy, my friend had to use earplugs. For me it was fine. I'd go back without hesitation. Tip: if you're there more than 3 days, take the bus to visit Fiesole on the hills near Florence. And girls, don't leave Florence without buying leather gloves.

The hotel is on the third floor of a building and to have access to it you have to get a lift for only three people. So, I had to climb up and down the stairs (around 60) with the pushchair of one of my kids, for there was no room in the elevator for it. The staff of the hotel is one of the most competent I have ever met, and always eager to help. Wonderful treatment especially with my two kids. We stayed there for 5 days and I have to say that in the end breakfast was a bit limited and repetive.

We would definately recommend a stay in La Venere, location perfect, very central. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, in particular Maria, Agnesse and the young man who are glasses!! Breakfast is of a good standard with plenty to choose from and lovely hot coffee. We really enjoyed our stay and will return in the future. Thankyou all.

Lovely little hotel in a really good location. Very helpful staff made us feel very welcome. Very good value for money, and very nicely decorated. Street outside noisy so bring earplugs. Towels provided were thin but not a problem. About 4 minutes walk to the Duomo. Would not hesitate to go back.

The funny thing was that we were ask to pay the room in advance for the entire period that we had reserved it. That was the first time that we had to do that, even if we had travelled from Europe to Asia every year since 1990! Despite this incident, everything else was fair. I recommend this hotel for futures turists because it is very well located and the services are good.

The people at the front desk and in the breakfast dining area were very friendly and accomodating. All of our needs were met with a smile. Although the rooms are on the 3rd floor, it is worth the climb. Our room was clean, pretty, and cool (during a very hot June/July). Our family of 3 had more than adequate space in our room. The hotel is centrally located - so, it is a short walk to David, Duomo, Uffizi, etc. I would recommend this to families and friends sharing a room. However, take a taxi from the train if you are carrying heavy luggage. When I return to Florence, I would certainly go back to this hotel.

La Venere was very welcoming, clean and in an excellent location from which to walk to all the historic sites of Florence! We were a family of 4 with 2 big teenage boys, and the room was as expected for a city hotel - not big but enough room for one double and 2 twins. The breakfast was simple but nice and the staff were helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Hotel La Venere is a stone's throw from the Cathedral (Il Duomo), which basically means that you can reach all the interesting places in less than 10 min. We were quite scared because of some comments we have read about hotels in Florence, but definitely they do not apply to this hotel. Rooms, although not huge in space, are cozy and extremely clean, with your own, pristine bathroom. The whole hotel has been refurbished recently, so everything looks new. The breakfast was good, including freshly prepared coffee on request! But the best bit is the staff. Both Patricia and Rolando were not only friendly, but also extremely helpful in giving us directions and advice or in dealing with problems that we had with our pre-booked tickets for the Uffizi gallery. Very good experience. If you go to Florence, I would really recommend this hotel as a very safe bet. Miguel (Potters Bar, UK)
