Wonderful central location (Via Tornabuoni is a great historic street and the the palazzo containing the hotel is elegant in the sober Florentine style). Very good room and bathroom. WiFi worked. Breakfast OK. The welcome was somewhat restrained (again in the Florentine style), and our departure was unduly hurried by their impending winter closure.

LA Residenza was recommended to us by a friend, and its is a fantastic hotel, located in the most expensive part of florence yet priced so reasonable. the Staff is superior helpful and super friendly. Of all the places we stayed on our italian vacation this place was the best. They had a computer to use for internet a rooftop garden lounge, wonderful breakfast and the location was with in 5 minutes of everything in florence I highly recommend La Residenza you wont be dissapointed

I highly recommend La Residenza. We were warmly greeted by our hotel host (I can't remember his name) who personally walked us up to our room. We were presently surprised that we were given a triple room and a cot free of charge as we were a family of 4 (1 5yr old an 1 5mo old). That was a nice touch. The rooms are great and the location is awesome. It seemed like we were just a bloock or 2 away from all the points of interest in Florence. Breakfast was not bad, compared to other hotels we stayed in Rome and Venice. It's your basic deli slices of ham, cheese, toast, yogurt, juices, cereals, and coffee/capucinno's from a machine. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel due to it's location, room conditions, and a friendly staff. The price is more than fair for what we paid and we stayed on the most expensive street in Florence (Prada right across the street, Gucci and Ferragamo only steps away). I will not hesitate to stay here again for our next visit to Florence. Sincerely, Eric

Both the room and the bed were smaller than I was led to understand from the pictures. The room was extremely sparse, with very little table space, no night-table, and no comfortable chair. There was a serious lack of plugs to plug anything in. Not very comfortable when you're awake. The location is excellent and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Our room was quite nice, but desperately needed to be upgraded with new carpeting, bathroom tiles, furniture and paint on the walls. Not everything in Italy needs to look as though it belongs in the Renaissance. For other travelers, I would say the location is excellent. It's close to all the important visitor sites in Florence, as well as to nearby extravagant shopping.

The staff was very accomodating with personalized service. Price was good considering its location. Rooms were more roomy that I expected but unfortunately wathe jotel could not don much about the lack of good lighting in the room and bathroom s which gave me trouble reading and doing make-up unlike other Italian hotels where lighting was abundant. Breakfast room was bright and pleasant. Overall it was worth the money we paid for.

Generally, it was a great stay, location and people were lovely. We stayed 2 nights in a triple, which was spacious and served us well. The final 2 nights we booked 3 singles for some privacy, but lost out on the spaciousness and all 3 rooms involved stairs (either in the room or in the hallway.) The staff was very helpful with our luggage.

During a two week trip to Italy involving many different cities and hotels, Hotel La Residenza was the best hotel we stayed in. The hotel room was clean and quiet, the breakfast was delicious, the staff were more than helpful, the roof top balcony was a wonderful spot to relax. The location was perfect in terms of sight seeing and getting to and from the rail station. I felt safe and comfortable the entire trip. We loved this hotel and highly reccommend it to all that are considering it.

Nicely located and very interesting building. Staff were very helpful although 24 hour room service is seriously depleted after 6pm as hot drinks not available. Would recommend this hotel as the location alone is worth it and we felt that the price was reasonable considering how expensive Florence can be

Ideal central location with the right balance between the City bustle and the quieter back streets. Lots of authentic restaurants nearby especially south of the river. Roof terrace is small but attractive with lots of fragrant flowers and is perfectly adequate for a relaxing glass of wine and a good book. Rooms 8 & 9 good size, excellent bathrooms - only problem is windows were sealed but there was AC

This is a lovely hotel and the "haute couture" street in Florence, it is easy walking distances to all the main attractions and the station. The only bad thing with the hotel was the bathroom was quite small and the lift only goes to the 4th floor, we were on the 5th and it was difficult to get the cases up the steep staircase. However, you do get a small roof terrace if you're on the top floor. The staff were very friendly and recommended fantastic restaurants. I would return again but would request a room on a lower floor.

This room was not bad it just wasn't the best. It was very basic with twin beds pushed together to make a king and very hard mattresses and pillows. Nothing special but clean and close to everything. The staff was very friendly and we have no complaints about breakfast. Really no complaints... just no raves either. But the price was definitely right and it was close to everything!

We stayed five nights in Hotel La Rezidenza. It was very convenient and we went everywhere on foot. The hotel staff were lovely, extremely capable with very good advice on tours (I can recommend Assisi/Perugia), shopping etc. Rooms were spacious, clean and very quiet. Price was excellent despite being located in one of the most exclusive shopping precincts (next door to Cartier!!) but with none of the pretension. Breakfast was excellent and always accompanied by a warm welcome. There is a beautiful terrace where you can sit and enjoy the afternoon sun. We loved this place and recommend it to anyone thinking of going to Florence.

Our stay at La Residenza surpassed our highest expectations. We were fortunate to get the room at a great rate (it was the low season) and every aspect of the accomadation was perfect. Wonderful location in Florence, especially for shopping at the high end stores. Breakfast was excellent and the roof-top facilities was wonderful for a glass of wine under the stars. I took a train from Rome to Florence, so I arrived at the hotel around 7 p.m. The front desk person told me right away that there was a broken pipe on my bathroom. She told me that she could offer me another room, but the only problem was that it did not have a bathroom. She said that the bathroom was like ten meters away from the room. I asked to see the original room plus the new room in order for me to decide if it was worh it to stay in that hotel and the owner told me an excuse that I did not believe. She said that my original room was a mess, so I was not able to see it and she offered me to stay in the new room for 19 dollars less a night. I think they rented my reserved room to someone else. I decided to stay because I was really tired. The room smelled and the shower at the bathroom did not have enough cold water, so the hot water was almost burning me while I took showers. The room did not have a security box, it did not have a little refrigetrator either. Even tough I had a discount, I think that my room was expensive comparative with other rooms in the hotel. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good. Great location....Someone told me that that is the way the owner works the hotel, so if she gets someone else before you arrive, she would rent your reserved room. The main reason I did not change hotel the next day is that I was going to be just three nights in Florence, and I was really tired from my sightseing in Rome, so I did not have the energy to look for something else.

We enjoyed our stay because of the friendly hosts. The staff was very accomodating, they made reservations for us at the museums, arranged an early taxi to the airport and served breakfast early the day of our departure. They are still working on upgrades but the friendly atmosphere definitely out weighs the any shortcomings in that area. We had two rooms, one faced the street and was quiet , the other had elevator noise so ask to be away from the front desk/elevator area. I would stay again. The location was wonderful.

We found this room to be the biggest disappointment of a 3 week trip. The room location was as indicated, and exactly where we wanted to be, but everything else was much less than advertised. The advertising did not indicate that the hotel was on a 2nd (or 3rd) level, accessable only via a 2 person elevator (or 1 person with luggage) and the actual upper entrance was most unappealing as was the breakfast room. The advertised bar was impossible to identify. But, by far the worst part was the high noise level of the street noise with the windows cracked for the only ventilation available. It was virtually impossible to sleep until after the bars and clubs closed around 2:00 AM and the noise started up again at 6:00 AM. At 7:30 AM constrution started at the adjacent building sending building debris down a chute to the street on about 2 minute intervals. While this couldn't be controlled by the hotel, it still made for a very bad experience.
