We drove a rental car and chose to stay at this hotel outside Firenze ZTL zone. Had to drive around the hotel streets for a while to finally reach it, as some streets are one way and road signs are not clear in the evening. Our room was very clean, small-sized but quiet. Very convenient public transportation to and from Firenze SMN train station and downtown. So, after checking in our room, we returned the rental car, which had been used for our trips to Siena and Chianti area, to Firenze Airport. To go back to hotel, we took airport bus to the train station and from there, light rail to BATONI Station, only 300 meters north of the hotel. There is also No.6 Bus from SMN train station and downtown to the hotel, bus stop: AMMANNATI on the same street of the hotel. The bus stop of No.6 bus going to downtown is PISANA on Via Pisana, one block south of the hotel. Bus and light rail use the same tickets, which can be bought at light rail ticket machines or at a flower shop near AMMANNATI stop. Both run very late till close to midnight.

Service was very friendly and helpful but they spoke only italian. Room was clean and nice but it was next to the street and very loud. We couldn't open the window during the night. It takes a half hour to the city (you need to walk to public transfer, then 10 minutes with train). Coffee in the morning was fresh but only hard bread/rolls.

ONE OF THE BIGGEST MISTAKES IN MY LIFE!I CHOOSED THE HOTEL BECAUSE IT WAS HIGHLY RATED ....."£$%%*& AND THE COMMENTS WAS VERY WELL....£%&*"£% Well I will share one story...I went to the living room in order to connect with the internet (since the only place you can have an internet connection is near to the reception) and I Kindly asked to turn off the voice of the tv because I wanted to connect my family via skype....You cant imagine the response ..."Ma No! now I am watching my favorite show on the tv"......."£$$%^&&*^$%£% THE LOCATION ALSO IS TERRIBLE!

The owner of the hotel is quite nice to the guests and they are very helpful as they patiently provided all the useful travelling info. we needed. Moreover, it is very easy to go from the hotel to the main city by bus.

The female owner speaks very good English and is wonderful and helpful, even with our next stop in Rome! She provided a great map of Florence and really good directions on the bus. Parking is free which is a real plus in Europe. You'll love the fresh croisants for breakfast. If we go back to Florence wouldn't hesitate staying here.

The bedroom was really clean, big and quiet. The staff speaks also english and french andis very nice. And, if you're hungry, they'll tell you a restaurant to go, you won't be disapointed. It's all good.

The Hotel was easy to find. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the wife who spoke quite good english. The parking was not on sight but not too far away. Easy bus ride into city or 30-45minute walk. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Slight internal noise problem we had was quickly dealt with. Happy to recommend.

It was a nice small hotel, the recepionist was very helpful, breakfast was good, the room was clean and roomy. The only drawback was that it's away from the city center, but there were buses every 15 minutes that drove to the center in 10 minutes. And one of the main reasons we chose this hotel despite its location was that they provided free parking.

Hotel Pergola is a convivial hotel. You feel like you are within a family. The staff is very kind, willing to help. The only problem is that the hotel could renovate a little bit. The rooms are convenient but need modernization. Of course, this is not as important as the rest, so I will come back to Pergola. PS: The center of the city is accessible by bus, but remember that the buses stop around 8 p.m. Hopefully we had a car, but driving/parking in Florence is difficult. I would still recommend the Pergola hotel for the kindness of the staff and all the efforts they make to enjoy your stay. We were not looking for very luxious room, so Pergola was satisfying

The staff were really amazing and accommodating. They helped us with all of our questions (i.e., were things were and what restaurants were good to eat at). One thing that I found cute was after I had asked the staff if they had a hair dryer I could use they not only provided me with one right away but after we return to our hotel room there was a hair dryer installed in our bathroom. I have to advise anyone staying at this hotel to visit the family run restaurant Casa Mia. The atmosphere, staff and food are really great. The prices are also really reasonable

The staff was warm, friendly and very helpful. The room was large and VERY clean. The A/C worked wonderfully! Breakfast was tasty and we just had to figure out the bus stops...about 20 min to Florence central. If I went back, I'd stay here again. It's good value for the money spent.

The staff were wonderful and helped us with reliable information and all our other needs. It was easy to get to Florence by bus. We took a taxi back from Ponte Vecchia for only 10 euros. Even with a GPS, we had trouble finding the hotel because of all the one way streets--sometimes switching to the other way after a few blocks. We would definitely stay here again

Mr. Mario and his wife Claudia could not have been nicer. They went out of their way to help us with locations of services (banks, groceries, post office, etc.). They gave us bus maps, tourist maps, lots of help and advice. The hotel was a 10 minute bus ride outside of the city center. We would bus into the tourist area near the Duomo and the bus back went right past the hotel on the way back. The parking was close (2 blocks away) and easy. Free parking, outside of the traffic control zone was one of the main reasons we ended up at La Pergola and all went well with that logic and plan. We stayed in a quad room that was really two separate rooms with a shared bathroom. Breakfast was nice, although not a broad offering. Lunch meats, packaged cheese, a couple of rolls/croissant options, cereal, yogurt, etc. The best part of the breakfasts were the delicious coffee/cappuccino's, which Ms. Calaudia made to order. The only minor complaint was the fact that the hotel doesn't have an elevator. It wasn't a problem for us as we were on the second floor, but it would have been a bigger problem had we been on the top floor. We would be happy to stay here again.

It was very nice and clean hotel in a quiet area 2 steps from the bus station and 5 minutes from the center of the city with the bus. The owners was very kind, the breakfast very good. I had no problem where to park my car because there was plenty of space in front of the hotel. the only think that disturbs us was the sound isolation inside the hotel. The footsteps above us was annoying and the preparation of the breakfast very noisy (dishes, glasses, cafe machine) sounded inside our room.

I would definatly reccomend this hotel to families. The family ran atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The breakfast was just right. We were definatly surprised by the size of our room. We are a family of 5 and it was very comfortable. It allowed priviacy for the parents while having the children in the same suite. The bedrooms were each seperate. The ages of our 3 children are 15, 10 and 7. It was a good walk to the city center but after the first day we figured out the buses and were able to purchase the tickets at the front desk. They were very inexpensive and the buses were easy to use. At first we were unsure of the area, thinking it might not be nice, but then we realized that much of it was just the construction going on. The parking is very secure and included in the price of the stay. The family that owns and runs this hotel is sincerely nice, and this shows in the little things around the hotel. As we were checking out it started raining very hard as my husband pulled up in the car. Without hesitation the owner grabbed his umbrella and started to help us with our luggage to the car. As we always overpack this was no small thing. We are currently livinging in northern Italy and will definatly stay at this hotel again when we visit Florence.

This property was managed by a delightful family led by our charming host Guglielmo. They were helpful and pleasant. I would highly recommend this property if one wants to avoid downtown prices and noise. Though on a busy street, it was nothing like the noise of downtown Firenze. The walk to the Ponte Vecchio took about 25 mins.We walked into town and took cabs home. Great value property.

We could not follow the written directions to drive to the hotel because the traffic was difficult and many roads were under construction. Big problem. Access to attractions was either cab or bus. The bus system was very difficult. Still La Pergola was close enough to make it all work fine. I wished for an english speaking TV channel. The people there were so very nice and helpful in every way they could. I'd go back to La Pergola if I take another vacation there.

It ist not a very high standard hotel, but still okay. The backrooms are quite. We had Nr. 31, which was very quite. The breakfast is not very special, but more than other italian hotels will offer you. To walk into the center (Duomo) it will take you about 20 minutes, but there is also a bus station with very good connections. We enjoied our stay at the Pergola and like to come back.

We only stayed for one night but the proprietor and his family were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel was very convenient for the regular bus service into the city centre (bus tickets available from the hotel). Being on the West of the city it was also convenient for a quick exit towards our departure airport at Pisa. We would certainly use this hotel again.

Really really nice hotel. Very next to the centre. We really enjoyed our holiday in Hotel La Pergola. They only need to make another map with the road to the hotel, beacause there were some works in progress in the streets which made us losing the way and we had some difficulties to find it when we arrived in Florence.

Being in, what I would call "the suburbs", this hotel was just a 5-10minute bus ride from the center of Florence. Our balcony was nicely covered w/ grape vines. The morning breakfast was sufficient.During our trip, we have stayed in other 3star hotels that made Pergola look like a 2 star. However, we did enjoy our stay here.

The hotel La Pergola is a nice quaint hotel. It's a short bus ride to the main areas - train station, San Lorenzo, etc. Kaira(?) was an excellent hostess - very friendly, hospitable and helpful. She went the extra mile to help answer any questions we had. She also speaks very good English. DON'T FORGET TO GET DIRECTIONS TO 25 APRILE - GREAT RESTAURANT!!!!!!!!!!! VERY REASONABLE AND GREAT FOOD. A RESTAURANT WHERE THE LOCALS GO. They service a nice breakfast of croissants, salami, ham, cappucino, etc. which is included in the price. The hotel doesn't have a lift (elevator) but the hotel doesn't have many floors. I'll definitely stay here on my next visit.

How to reach Hotel La Pergola

By car
The hotel is located close to the Firenze-Pisa-Livorno freeway, only 10 minutes from Florence's city centre. From the A1 highway take the Firenze Signa exit. After the toll-house bear right and follow the indications to Firenze Centro. After about 800 metres turn right and keep following the signs for downtown. You are driving on the Firenze-Pisa-Livorno (FI-PI-LI) freeway leading toward Florence. Keep driving in the same direction for about 4 km. The FI-PI-LI freeway leads directly to the city and changes name a few times. The last strech turns into a tree-lined boulevard called via del Sansovino, which bends gently on the right merging into via del Pignoncino. At the first traffic light turn right into via del Bronzino, which soon becomes via Antonio del Pollaiolo, and look for number 16.

By train
The Santa Maria Novella railway station lies about 2 km from the property. Upon leaving the station, with the tracks behind you, take the right exit. Go down the stairs, cross the street, turn right and proceed on the side walk for about 30 metres. Turn left in via degli Orti Oricellari, where bus lines 26 and 27 stop. Take either one and get off at the last stop in via del Bronzino. Walk for 30 metres and you will see the hotel on the right.

By airplane
Florence's Amerigo Vespucci airport lies about 3 km away and is well connected to the city's centre. The Vola in Bus shuttle leaves every twenty minutes for the Santa Maria Novella railway station. A taxi takes about 15 minutes. From the station follow the above-said directions.
