Hotel Jane was a nice hotel in Florence. Good location, we walked into florence centro in 10-12 minutes. Breakfast okey. Walking distance to Piazzale Michelangelo with a great view of Florence and to the very nice church San Miniato in Monte which was just a few minutes from Piazzale Michelangelo

The room was small but there was all that you could need (generally speaking). Not a very big bathroom, but there were all essential items. Very good price to quality ratio. The place is outside the centre but it is not too far from the touristical monuments. In the surroundings you will not find restaurants or pubs, since it is quite a residential area.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. I think it is a definite 3+ star hotel and gives a a very good quality/price ratio. The only problem arose around the parking: your web page states that parking is free in front of the hotel which is only partly true: in fact there is only a couple of lots for free parking (which are always occupied) otherwise you have to pay 1 Euro/hour between 8.00 and 20.00 which is 12 EUR/day. Besides the garage fee is not 10 EUR but 20 EUR/day.

Hotel is nice, clean and quite. It is not in the center of downtown and you need to take bus to arrive there. But we don't feel it's inconvenient. The peoples in the front desk are always nice and helpful when we met some problem or asked for some help. The breakfast is good although we just enjoyed it in one morning only.

My husband and I appreciated the good geographical position of the hotel, close to the Lungarno and not far from the romantic quarters of Santa Croce and Sant'Ambrogio. The room was clean and comfortable, the price reasonable, inclusive of a nice morning breakfast.

The carpeting in our room was filthy as were the other rooms we inspected. Mnaagement indicated that the hotel would soon change-out the flooring -- that did us no good. The hotel was on a run-down street and it was one very long walk to the city center.

This hotel was plain but comfortable, close to city centre but far enough away to avoid worst of noise. Staff were friendly and helpful. Internet access was available in public area. My only complaints are that the air conditioning was out of order so if the window was left open the room was a bit noisy. Also sound carried a bit between rooms. Breakfast provided by hotel was plain but sufficient but rolls were sometimes a bit stale. Our triple room was spacious enough for me, my husband and our teenage son.It would be better if a few English language TV stations were available.

This hotel is very outdated and out of the way. The price was cheap, but you get what you pay for! It was a short walk to the Duomo, but Florence is quite small comparatively - its a short walk from just about anywhere! The room size was good, but everything was just very old looking (except the nice new TV). The breakfast was typical - breads, meats, cereal. A woman did make coffee and cappuccino. The front desk staff was not friendly. There were some nice clothing stores and little restaurants. But really, you are outside of the more historical part of the city and very far from the train station (18 euros for a taxi). It was not a terrible stay, but I'd stay a lot closer next time.

The hotel is like described however the price difference is kind of not transparent for me. Also if Venere showed a price on the hotel page it was kind of different (cheaper) for some days. In generally nice, supermarcet close, good restaurants also (in a small backyard). Room space is small but o.k. Internet in the "partner hotel" on the other side of the street for free. If you go there by cab you pay around Eur 14 from the train station.

We stayed in july and had a plessant stay. We arrived late at about 11.30 pm, but that was no problem at all. Unfortunately the aircondition had made the room very cold and it could not be turned off. But the woman at the reception solve the problem by switching off all aircon at the mainpower switch. The next day we fixed the aircon our selves. Breakfast was OK but not more than that. There are only 3 parking spaces in front off the hotel that are free off charge and in generel parking is not possible in the street after 8 pm. But the hotels garage at 10 euro a night is OK. A bit boring location but in generel Florenze isnt larger than you can walk every where. The only bad thing was the pour understanding an speaking off english in the reception. Otherwise good value for money!

We stayed for two nights. The location is very good. 10-15 minutes walking distance to all the things to see in Florence! Breakfast is a buffet with plenty to enjoy! Rooms were clean and with plenty of towels (different to some other hotels we stayed during our trip in Europe. Ha!) We parked our car in front of the hotel but there is not much space there, so we were just lucky. One of the things we loved the most was a restaurant they recommended us called La Taverna nearby which had great food, very competitive prices and incredible good service! Recommended both.

Quietness of rooms : we heard some noise from the room next door. Close to bus stop of line 14 (piazza del Duomo within 15 min), we used the "Agile"card for best price. Close to train station "Campo di Marte" (15 min by foot). A good address for real italian dinner : ask for "Trattoria di Sordo"

Nice cozy family-type small hotel. We spent 3 days in a room for 2 persons. The room was quite small but ok. Pretty small shower cabin as well (no bath). Good overall impression and services, friendly personneel. To our surprise breakfast was included served by a nice friendly lady. Note: the paintings in the eating room are for sale(!) A bit hard to find a parking spot (especially that on every Thursday night all cars from the neighbourhood must be evacuated for cleaning the streets) A bit too far from the center (at least 15 min. walking) We took the bust from 100 meters from the hotel (1.50 euro per trip; as most people do not stamp their ticket we did the same and we preserved the tickets throughout our stay) In the city center it is almost impossible to go by car: narrow streets, no parking. We advice a GPS if you visit Florence, especially to find your hotel.

We found the hotel very easily because Francesca (working at the hotel) sent an e-mail with more detailed instructions. No one was at the checkin desk when we arrived, someone arrived just a few minutes later. It seems that the same person is at the desk for the hotel across the street also. This is OK, but it would help to have a sign on the desk indicating to go to the hotel accross the street or to provide the phone and phone number, to avoid any delays.

The hotel was fine. The problem was the poor customer service. They tried to send us to another hotel accross the road saying that they did not have any more rooms available. I refused after some discussion and they finally gave us the room that was ready. Poor attention. It said free parking and they only had room for 4 cars (first come, first serve).

Breakfast service at the weekend seemed to be delivered by stand ins for regular staff causing the otherwise excellent service to become a bit uncertain, but it was not all that bad. Rooms are good enough but on the small side. They did have an electronic safe and a mini bar / small fridge which were appreciated. Sound insulation between rooms is quite poor, louder voices being quite clearly audible as well as TVs. Unless you can follow Italian language services on TV you are stuck with CNN which I find mind numbing and repetitive with minimal European content, I would much prefer BBC world service. The clear strong point of this hotel are the staff who were pleasant friendly people who were immensely helpful and made effort to ensure their guests had a good stay.

We didn´t like the hotel. The room was clean but too small mainly the bathroom. It was the smallest bathroom we´ve ever been to. Yo have to be very short and skinny to take shower there. The worst thing was that our room was just beside the elevator on the top floor. We couldn´t sleep because of the elevator machine´s noise. The another negative point is that the hotel is far from the main attractions and we had to walk about 30 minutes to get to them. We wouldn´t go back to this hotel again.

A welcoming and comfortable hotel, the rooms are a bit small, but very clean and comfortable, although you can hear just about everything going on in the rooms around you! The hotel is well located about 20 minutes walk from attractions, close enough to be convenient but still far enough out to find some sensible priced bars and restaurants, if you dont fancy the walk the No.14 Bus is only about two hundred yards away and the hotel sell tickets (this is also the bus from the station when you arrive). The Taverna restaurant is a particular recomendation, just a couple of minutes away (hotel reception will give directions)offering excellent food and wine at very reasonable prices.

When we arrived, we were told in Italian that there wasn't room for us and we were being sent to another hotel. When we arrived at the other hotel, we weren't given a double room as we had booked at Jane, we were given two single rooms. I'd have been a better sport about this except that it was the first night of our honeymoon. The next day we returned to the Jane. The manager sent us a bottle of wine, but he still had me pay the full price for a double room at the Jane. I was shocked and very disappointed to have to pay for something that was so much less than I was given.

We arrived ( having got lost ...) only to find that they hadn't dealt with my reservation made with Venere .... I started having visions of having to get back into the car and look for another hotel. But the daughter ( ? ) from Hotel Orcagna across the road came and moved about a few people and we got our room ! I was very pleasantly surprised by the room which was very clean, modern abeit small. It looked out on the back garden area not on the street. One big nono about this hotel, as others have said before me, is the awful soundproofing. You could hear your neighbours talking, watching TV, using the very loud hairdryer and also doing things at 1.00 AM you normally only hear on an Xrated film !!!! Paper thin walls. Breakfast was fine, nice lady serving the hot drinks ( croissants, rolls, yoghurts, juices etc). One very good thing about this hotel is the parking - they've got 5 spaces in front of the hotel and we managed to get one each day. Saved quite a lot as the parking in the street is hard to find and costs an euro per hour. Plus, the last night we hadn't booked Jane and they were full so we went to Bologna just down the road and they let us leave the car in front of Jane which was nice. For people not keen on walking, THIS HOTEL IS NOT AT ALL CENTRAL. We are fast walkers and I'm sorry, we weren't 10 minutes from the Duomo as some have said ( maybe they sprinted !! ). The first day we walked everywhere and the rest of the time took the bus in and out - there's a fab bus service with the 14 bus that leaves from just down the road. You get it back to the hotel from behind the Duomo. They are very frequent and run til past midnight. I would stay here again, mainly because the rooms were very clean and modern and because of the car parking which would be much harder in the centre.

Only because I read it before, I want to notice that when we arrived at Jane hotel (3 stars), there were a problem and we had to stay at a hotel opposite, Orcagna (2 stars). Same price of the room. We had a great stay at the Jane. With two teenagers, the room was a little small but no matter. We didn't go to Florence to hang out in a hotel room. It was very comfortable, nice good sized bathroom, balcony, a.c., comfortable beds. We were very pleased all around. The staff spoke little english, but were very friendly and helpful. There was a very nice breakfast spread each morning in the terrace room. We really liked the neighborhood of Hotel Jane. It took about a 20 minute stroll to the city center. At night it was quiet in the neighborhood so the sleeping was good. There is a great little restaurant around the corner, Fouri Piazza, where we ate three times. Also a terrific bakery on the corner. Also lots of interesting shops - we really got a feel for how Florentines live - away from the tourist choked areas. We will definitely stay at the Jane again. If you plan a trip to Florence, it really pays to book museum reservations on line before you go. We had reservations and no waiting in line at the biggies - it was great.

I booked and paid for a deluxe double room, intending to arrive as part of a couple but my partner did not make it so I stayed in the room by myself. I was rather surprised at the room that I was given, as I had specified and paid for a deluxe room. Perhaps reception took advantage of me once they realised that I was by myself. The room 'did' have a double bed but seemed small and cramped and certainly not 'de luxe' although I paid the de luxe prices. The bathroom, particularly the shower, was small and cramped. There was no arm chair to sit on in the room. There was a desk chair - the hotel hadn't even bothered taking plastic covering off the seat of the chair - this made the seat of the chair unappealing and unpleasant to sit on as (a) you would tend to slip off (b) your rear end would become sweaty.

A very good hotel, with clean rooms and quiet surroundings, big enough so that a family group of three would feel quite comfortable. It's also well situated, 15 minutes walking distance from the cultural center of Florence, and 30 minutes from every possible site of the city you would like to see. The breakfast served was quite rich and adequate. The hotel staff hardly speaks english, so communication with them may be somewhat rough. Courteous and knowledgable staff- they even let me use the internet at Hotel Orcagna (next door, same owners I believe). if you don't mind thin walls, i would definitely recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel in its price range, but not very well isolated walls, which is a pittu when you have noisy guests for neighbours.

Good friendly hotel, the twin room we were in was very small though however more than adequate as a base and the price was excellent!

I made a reservation for "Jane", but upon my arrival the friendly mother (who spoke no English) conveyed to me that she owned both "Jane" and the hotel across the street (Hotel Orcagna). She took me across the street and her equally friendly daughter helped me check-in. The room was standard. Everyone was very helpful and eager to please. I would stay here again.

We were there just for 1 night, in occasion of a concert in Piazzale Michelangelo. The hotel, with its facilities and its location perfectly met our needs. It is a bit far away from the very heart of the city (approx. 25 minute walk from Piazza del Duomo).

L'isolation phonique est déplorable et la qualité de votre séjour dépendra de la discrétion des voisins de chambres ! Les murs doivent être en carton :-( Dommage car le reste des prestations est correct.

Nice rooms, cleanliness, easy access to downtown. The only problem was the small space reserved for breakfast and just one person for serving, cleaning up, etc.

This is quite a good hotel with one major drawback - the rooms are not well sound-proofed. The walls between the rooms appear to be constructed of plater board. You can hear everything going on in the next room - day and night. We won't be staying there again.

This hotel was very clean, comfortable and well-appointed and the staff was very helpful when language was not a barrier. (some were better with English than others)It was very good value for the money. For those driving, avoid staying over on Thursdays, as the city has street cleaners and all cars must be removed. There is absolutely nowhere to park in adjoining districts. We were able to get our car taken to a garage, but we wasted an entire evening getting this sorted and it cost a lot as well.

Very nice, clean and well decorated hotel in a quiet (well, for Florence anyway) area about a 15 minute walk from the Duomo. The room rate was very reasonable and the staff very friendly.

To recomment ! Very clean. Only one negative point: you can hear every word and everything from your room and also next-next-room-neighbour.

Definitely a great value. Although there isn't much around the hotel itself, the heart of Florence is only 10-15 minutes walking. Of the five hotels I stayed in while in Italy, this was the second nicest--only La Meridiana in Venice was better.

The staff was very helpful. The location is a bit away from the sites, but we found that to be ok. We enjoyed the walk as well as the neighborhood in which the hotel is located.

A nice place to stay in busy Firenze, good breakfast, nice wine at the bar (although we were the only guests there), a hotel to be recommended.

Great hotel, very helpful staff. Breakfest was best we had at any hotel in Italy. Location good, close to bus route and within walking distance to the Duomo. Best rooms face street with balcony. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed twice at Hotel Jane. The Hotel was extremely clean and located in a quiet street in Florence (15 mins walk from City Centre). The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. For the price we payed for a family room we were very pleasantly surprised at the amount of space we had including "proper" beds for our two 11 year old children (not sofa beds), air con and a ceiling fan! Breakfast was a bit basic, but this was not a problem.I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean comfortable budget hotel in Florence.

The young gentleman, who works at the front desk during the day and speaks good English, is very competent and warm to guests. He helped us with our transportation and other issues. I do not know his name, but would like to thank him for his good job.

El hotel no está mal aunque el aparcamiento reservado a los huespedes no es muy grande y el desayuno es algo pobre.
