Hotel Il Perseo is an excellent place to stay in Florence. Not only is it extremely well located but the experience at the hotel was top notch across all elements providing clean rooms, great service and a fantastic experience. I would highly recommend staying here and will use this hotel again if ever I get back to Florence.

We booked a single and a double. They were clean quiet rooms, comfortable beds, variety of items for breakfast. It was in an excellent central location. On the 3rd and 4th floors but there was an elevator. Staff was friendly and helpful. The single room had very little space to move around in.

Hotel Perseo, what a great place to stay, staff, beds, breakfast, location, all great. We will come back and bring the kids. We were a stones throw from all the main sites. The staff were too happy to book anything we needed. More than happy.

Great Location! Great Breakfast! Great Room! I stayed here with 4 other girls, we are all kind of picky and all agreed for our budget during our 21 days stay all over Italy, our Florence Hotel Il Perseo was probably our favorite. I will def. recommended to friends headed to Florence and would stay there again if I ever go back to Florence. Only 10 min walk to SMN train station. SAFE neighborhood.

This place was FANTASTIC! Great prices for what we got. The staff was VERY helpful and accommodating- the rooms were clean and updated- everything was perfect! Right down the street from the Duomo with tons of restaurants nearby. Really, anything we needed they were more than happy to provide. I plan to return to Florence- and when I do I will definitely be staying here again. The ONLY thing that might seem like a problem is that you have to go up a few flights of stairs to get to the hotel at all. There is an elevator, but it is very small- it doesn't seem very accessible.

The hotel was fine, the features were as advertised. The breakfast offered was limited but OK. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The only issue we had was regarding the poor quality of the mattress which caused some back pain after a night of sleep.

Very central, on the main street about half way between the train station and the Duomo. It's on the 4th floor, but there is a lift as well as stairs. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Close to the major tourist spots, it was a good place to explore Florence from. No restaurants close to the hotel, but lots within a 10 minute walk. Free wireless internet was a nice touch, although it doesn't reach all of the rooms.

The room was a little small but just right for a honeymoon. The staff was friendly, eager to serve and the breakfast was very good. The location was perfect- walking distance to train station (if you don't mind wheeling your bags through a main street) and in the middle of tourist area with shops, monuments, ect.. For the price it was GREAT and we would definetely would stay there again.

Hotel II Perseo was very clean and well managed with very kind and helpful employees on site at all hours of the day. The breakfast was fine, happy hour was great and the location is convenient to everything in Florence. The employees were really great and they made the stay terrific. My only advice to other travelers would be to ask for a room in the back of the hotel as the street out front is busy and noisy

The location is great for visiting Florence. It is central to the major attractions, and most are within easy walking distance. The hotel is on the upper floors of a building and is served by an elevator. The common areas are on the third floor. There are two systems of building numbers in Florence and both are used on a particular street. One set is used for building entrances and the other for store fronts. The address of this hotel is Via de' Cerretani 1, for the entrance to the building. There is another Via de' Cerretani 1 in the same block which is a restaurant store front. The hotel is in the middle of the block amid some store fronts with non-sequential numbers. This information should be on the web site and not just in a review. Our room was on the fourth floor. We had a large room which had a bed for a third person. The room next door, which we saw when it was being made up, was much smaller. The bathroom was modern and clean. The air conditioning worked well. The windows kept the sound out, which is important because this hotel is in a busy area. Building corridors (outside of the hotel) are in need of refurbishing. The hotel itself is better but could still use some refreshing. Breakfast was OK but no more than that. There is someone at the front desk 24 hours. All were friendly and spoke English well.

We just cannot say enough good things about this hotel. From the helpful and friendly staff to the large, clean, modern rooms to the great location, it could not have been better. Based on the hotel's location (very close to the Duomo, on a busy street), we were concerned that it might be noisy, but our room was very quiet and we never heard any sound at all from outside.

100% recommended, the best sleep I had in Italy! We had a quadruple room which was a king size bed and 2 single for our 2 children - this still left us with a lot of room. Very comfortable and fresh beds, nice bedlinen, extremely clean overall, good shower, nice TV, nothing at all shabby about this lovely room. We overlooked the street but had no street noise at all. GREAT breakfast, really good selection of items. Absolutely lovely hotel owners who couldn't do enough to help, very friendly. Florence was super hot so the air con in the rooms was perfect. I was worried we might not find the hotel since I had seen reviews saying it was hard to find....we found it immediately and yes, it is walking distance from the train station without a doubt - the lift up to the 3rd floor is quick and easy, no problem. We used the hotel car parking which was very convenient, they parked the car for us. In a fabulous location, 1 min from the Duomo, we will definitely stay here again. We used the hop-on hop-off tour bus and bought tickets from the hotel reception. Wish our stay here had been longer!

We are a family of 4 who stayed very comfortably in a quadruple room. The rooms were clean and beautifully furnished and nice sized. Great location just down the street from the Duomo.

I recommend the Il Perseo. The managers were outstanding! All our questions were answered and they assisted us with museum reservations. The staff were also welcoming, friendly and professional. The breakfasts were delicious (I loved the coffee,) happy hour was a bonus (wine was tasty) and we really appreciated the ability to use a complimentary laptop. The rooms were spotless and the bathroom was well-appointed. Treat yourself when you are in Florence and stay at the Il Perseo.

The room was perfect and the price was very reasonable for the location ( about 90 euros a night) this was in November. I go to Florence every year, sometime twice a year. I was there in November and before that in August but did not stay there in August because the rates were too high(around 160 euros a night) but other than that I would recommend the place anytime and will always be my 1st choice in Florence.

This was a great room in a great location! We didn't take a single taxi and easily found our way to all of the Florence sites. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and there was free wine and snacks each evening. The only problem was that the elevator was very small and could only hold two people (or one person and two bags). But I would strongly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is located at the 3rd floor of a building, which was a bad surprise for us (no lobby at the ground floor) Public areas are very narrow. Moreover, the rooms were not sufficiently heated (we were there in December). Some pros however: the rooms are spacious, quiet and well decorated.

The location of this hotel is fantastic, it is only a 50 meters from the Duomo. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Internet access is good. The breakfast was very limited. The hotel occupies the third and fourth floor of a building where the lower floors are taken up by a hostel. That is somewhat off putting. All in all it was a pleasant stay but next time we might try one of the other similarly priced hotels.

The hotel and the rooms met my expectations based on the reviews and pictures I had seen. The room was clean, sizeable, bed was comfortable, water hot, the air con worked and the breakfast was reasonable. Nothing fancy but it's what you would expect for a 3 star hotel. For me though, the best thing about the hotel was its location - just a minutes walk to Duomo Sq and 5 minutes walk to the train station. My wife in particular loved the location as you're surrounded by shops as soon as you set foot outside of the hotel. One thing to watch out for when you first arrive at the hotel is the entrance - it's on a busy small road and it is difficult to get close to in a taxi / car. It's easier to stop in Duomo Sq but that means carting luggage for about 100 metres. If there's no traffic and you can lift your luggage over a 3 ft guard rail then you can stop outside the door and make a quick dash for it. Other than that I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Perseo.

I went to Italy with a friend. We went to 4 different regions of the country in 2 weeks. We booked all of our hotels through Venere and all were great choices! The Il Perseo was such a nice place to stay during our one and only night in Florence. It’s location was great. I couldn’t believe how close we were to the Duomo. It was perfect location to walk anywhere in the city! The ladies at the desk were extremely helpful. They recommended one of the best restaurants we ate at during our whole trip & even helped us with driving directions out of Florence. Great location, great price & convenient to everything!

Upon arrival, the desk clerk remembered that I had asked for a room with a view and was told that none were available. When we arrived, she said that there had been a cancellation for a view room and she had put us into that room. I was very impressed with that and we were given a large room with a view of the Duomo. It almost looked as if you could reach out and touch it. That was great. The room was large and clean as was the bath. The room was also quiet. The hotel is extremely well located to all sites. We were able to walk everywhere. Good restaurants were recommended to us as well. The only drawback for us was the small slow elevator which only goes to the 4th floor. As it turned out, our room was on the 5th floor. This would not be an issue if you travel lightly without much luggage. All considered, this was a minor thing compared to all the positives. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again. The location cannot be beat! Oh yes, expect a traditional Italian breakfast resembling a US continental breakfast (no bacon and eggs). We had a wonderful time there and felt that the staff was professional and friendly.

Great location right next to Piazza del Duomo. Staff was friendly and helpful, and room was fairly large by European standards, and had free Internet. The biggest drawback was that the hotel is on the third floor of the building, and the elevator was small and slow so it might take a few trips if you have lots of luggage. Also, and this was the case with other hotels I stayed in during this trip, in Europe, a double room indicates only a bed big enough for two, not that you want two separate beds, this must be stated separately if desired. So, my friend and I had to share for our time here as the hotel was out of other rooms. It was big enough not to be a problem, however.

Wonderful location just a few blocks from the train station one direction and the Duomo in the other. Very good English speaking staff. Afternoon happy hour was a plus since we had a chance to mingle with other guests. Room was quiet since it was on the side of the building. We overlooked a church and its bell tower but only heard the bells twice while we were there. Room was comfortable but not big. Good storage and updated bath. Shower was tiny. Continental breakfast was adequate. Can't beat the location.

Very impressed by this hotel. On a busy main road, but right in the heart of Florence, easily walkable or short taxi ride from the station. We had a triple room overlooking a courtyard at the back, so no traffic noise at all. Very close to the dome, so you will hear the bells. The bedroom and ensuite were immaculate, lots of towels and toiletries. Very helpful and friendly staff who spoke English, and when caught out in the middle of a storm, lent us umbrellas. Plenty of choice at breakfast, and happy hour with nibbles early evening. Hotel is on the third floor, access by lift or stairs. You might miss the entrance, so look out for hotel sign. We have been to Florence many times, but this is the hotel that I would return to and recommend to others.

The location is wonderful. Walking distance from the train station is not a "short walk" with luggage. Count on taxis to rip you off for the 4 minute ride! The owner is a wonderful lady from Australia. Staff could not do enough to please their guests. Breakfast was basic continental with no frills. Great value for money. The only negative thing was the beds - mattresses were lumpy and hard. Not what you look forward to after a day of walking.

I travelled alone, so all lodging seemed expensive. That said, this was the best price and I got a great room in a great location with really friendly staff. It would have been a steal if I went with a companion. It was safe, clean, and had A/C! There were families and couples staying there. Unfortunately I didn't make the happy hour (1 free glass of wine) so I didn't get to meet any of the people staying there. Overall thumbs up!

We stayed for 3 nights from the 18 march to the 21 March. It was a place I would be confident to return to. The ONLY reservation is that we could hear what sounded like running water all night. We were in room 303. This would probably be an issue to people who were light sleepers. We would probably ask for another room the next opportunity we have to be at Florence.

It was like staying with old friends that would do anything to make your stay comfortable. All of the staff are engish-speaking, friendly, well-informed, ready to please, and customer focused. The rooms were quiet, clean, roomy enough, easy to stay in, good heating and cooling you control, and well maintained. The staffs suggestions for restaurants and things to do were right on target. It is a comfortable hotel to stay in. They set up reservations for us but would not accept a tip for any of their help. The room had an electrical outlet for our phone for charging that did not require an adapter. It was a very quiet hotel that is located perfectly to get to all of the cultural sights easily. In the middle of it all but quiet - unbelievable. I will recommend this hotel to my friends. It is a very good deal.

My girlfriend and I stayed for 4 nights, and had a very enjoyable stay. The location is superb, just a 1 minute walk to the Duomo and less than 10 minutes to the train station. There are lots of decent restaurants around too. Our room was a nice double room at the back of the hotel, with a sofa/single bed in the room too. It was very spacious, with a modern decor. The air con unit was a bit on the noisy side, but this didn't really detract from the quality of the room. The breakfasts were probaly the best on our trip around Italy, with warm pastries, some good meats and very good capuccino's and hot chocolate. We also liked the idea of a free glass of wine in the evening, which was a very nice touch. All the staff we met, from the people who run the hotel to the cleaners, were very pleasant too. All in all, a great place to stay in Florence at a decent price.

Great Hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were very large - we were surprised! The room was extremely quiet, which was also a surprise being a block from the Duomo. Short walk to the places we liked to have dinner (over the river and to the right - away from the tourist mess - ask the folks at the front desk to point out a few places!). My husband and I were in Florence for the first time, and I was 6 months pregnant as well - we were very happy with our stay and would recommend this place to anyone. Il Perseo is a little tough to find - the front desk is on the 3rd floor - hop on the elevator and the button is marked. It is a quick walk from the train station - we even walked there in the pouring rain w/o umbrellas and it wasn't too bad :)

Wonderful! This hotel is embedded on the upper floors in an old building. A short walk from the station and next to the Duomo. We had a triple room (416)and although not spacious, the third bed was in an alcove givining our 15 year old a bit of privacy. Hot water, clean and modern and restful. I recommend it.

We came to attend our son's dissertation in Fiesole outside Florence. Other family members also stayed in the same hotel. The hotel is very well located. The rooms are modest but very clean. The breakfast was good. The service altogether was very kind, good and professional.

Very clean, great staff and a few blocks to the train or historic sites. Very central and easy to find. Like many euro hotels you enter at street level (don't judge by that) and take a small lift to the hotel level.

You never know what you're going to get when you book a hotel, but we were pleasantly surprised by Il Perseo. The accomodations were clean, modern, basic and exactly what we needed. The hotel's location couldn't be better, just a short block from the Duomo. The staff was very kind and welcoming. Breakfast was not extensive, but just what we needed in the morning. The free internet computer in the common area helped us in a pinch and the fact that the bar is always open means you can stop down for a bottle of water or glass of wine whenever. I would definitely stay at Il Perseo again.

The hotel is on the third floor of the building marked Pension Perseo. The rooms were great, the hotel offered free internet access and did happy drinks 6-8pm. Free glass of wine and snack. Great location, easy to find all the major sites of FLorence. Friendly staff.

I would commend the cleanliness and the service. Our luggage did not arrive with us and the staff made sure it was at the airport the next morning as indicated and reported to us the time of expected arrival at the hotel. This was very reassuring. The bed was comfortable and the room very quiet. I loved the location.

This is very much a basic three star hotel. The room was clean and large enough for the triple we ordered. As listed in the other reviews the signage out front is non-existent and I had to call the hotel on my cell while standing withing 20 feet of the door. They people at the front desk were great and the location is about as central as you could get. This is a no luxury hotel; just basic and clean and central.

The main issue with ths hotel was finding it. Whilst only 50m from the cathedral and very central, its very small. It only takes up two floors of the building its in, the 3rd and 4th, with shops on the ground floor and another guest house inbetween the shops and the hotel. Don't let that put you off though. The hotel is very new, and very clean, and the room was really nice. The staff were friendly, and the location is perfect. Theres no resturant as such, just a small breakfast area, but you'll be eating out anyway. Its perfect for a couple of days in Florence, just remember to look up as you walk along the street looking for the place, as the exterior sign that says Il Perseo is half way up the building.

The location is fantastic: a 7 minute walk from the train station, right around the corner from the Duomo, San Lorenzo's market, and a short walk to the Ponte Vecchio. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's very convenient, nicely clean, and had a private bathroom. I'd recommend it for budget travelers!

We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to friends. Our overnight train arrived in Florence at 8 am and the staff were really accommodating and allowed us to check in at 10 am. This was hugely helpful as we have two small children.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us recommendations for dining and booked museums for us ahead of time. Recommended and booked a cooking class while we were visitng. Wonderful accomodations with elevator. Very spacious rooms with excellent daily maid service. Would highly recommend and stay again in the future.

Excellent hotel. A little on the pricey side but you can see why. Very nice rooms. Excellent staff that is fluent in English. Free internet. Free glass of wine and snacks every evening. Right down the street from the Duomo (though everything in Florence is pretty close to each other). Great place to spend a few days.

Excellent hotel run very competently by an Australian couple. The rooms are by far some of the best we have seen in all our Europe travel - spacious and well apointed. Free internet access in the room was great. Good breakfast and very friendly owners. The duomo was a short walk and the hotel is close to the train station, bank, shopping and dining areas.

Our family holiday began with a 2 night stay here (2 adults, 2 children aged 8 and 13). We were delighted - very friendly and helpful English speaking staff, who booked reservations for the Accademia for us. Family room was spacious and comfortable, glad to have air-con (August). We were on the top floor (lift went up to the floor below us - slightly noisy at night). Gasps of amazement when we opened one of the windows to look out onto a views of the Duomo - beautiful in the different lights throughout the day...we were woken up by the bells the next morning! Not too early though... Breakfasts were very good, everything from cereal to croissants, cheese, ham, fruit, cappuccino, hot chocolate - this really set us up for the day. The hotel was perfectly situated for us to pop back to our room during the day for loo stops or a rest before the next bit of exploration. All in all great - this would be our choice if we visit Florence again, definitely.

Highly recommend this hotel if you want a central location in Florence. Staff will help with bookings for museums, tours, restaurants in advance of your trip. The hotel is on the 3rd & 4th floor and accessible by lift which can be temperamental. Although this wasn't a problem for us it may be for people with limited mobility.

I was there with my elderly mother and the elevator (lift) was not working and we had to haul our luggage up 5 flights of stairs. The reception had an attitude and we were put on a wild goose chase for tickets to the Academia Museum. When we returned after almost 2 hours of wasted time, we discovered they could have just placed a call to make a reservation which they knew all along. Another woman working there was more than happy to place the call but we should have been told that in the first place instead of wasting the little time we had in Florence! Another issue was driving to the hotel. The directions on the website are no longer accurate as there has been construction and a road is closed and according to the hotel, has been for over a month!

Finding the hotel the first time is difficult - it's just down from the Duomo (same side of the street) on the 3rd floor. It was well worth the find however. The staff was excellent - friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. Despite being on a very busy street, the rooms were quiet and had air conditioning. It's the first time I actually took advantage of the happy hour, and it became a regular activity for us. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great value for location, cleanliness and safety - not fancy but perfect for exploring Firenze. Great recommendations for local dining. Driving is a bit tricky for first timers. We would go back. :)

We love the Hotel Il Perseo! We stayed 7 days in Florence and this was the perfect hotel. We looked forward each day to "Happy Drink." The staff was always very helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious with a modern, IKEA-like decor. The location was perfect, a stone's throw from the Duomo and close to the train terminal. We were street side but there was little noise to disturb us.

This hotel is in a great location in Florence. You can walk out and are steps from the Duomo. The hotel itself is located on the fourth floor which was a problem after a large storm knocked out the elevator for several days. This was an issue with luggage. Staff was very friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean. They had a happy hour which we enjoyed because staff was very friendly and gave us the opportunity to interact with other guests prior to heading out for dinner. They offered a free glass of wine and snacks which was unique. The rooms can be noisy if you have loud neighbors (we had slamming doors) but this is not a fault of the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at the Perseo hotel. Everything worked out just great and the staff was really friendly and very helpful. Being so close to the Dome we could drop in whenever we wanted without any problems! Whenever I come back to Florence again, I'd try to get a room there again.

Fantastic hotel, friendly staff and a great location. Despite being near the centre of Florence on a busy street the room was lovely and quiet. Free internet access was a bonus. 5 minutes from the station and 2 mins from the main squares. The hotel made us reservations at the Uffezi before we arrived which I would strongly recommend. Can't think of anything bad to say!

The staff was wonderful and helpful. They pre-arranged reservations at the Uffizi and the Accademia and got us timetables for the eurostar trains. Also the 6-8 pm happy hour was very welcoming. I will definitely recommend especially for the location since it is adjacent to the Duomo.

We had two rooms; a triple and a double. Both were spacious, clean, and comfortable. While Perseo lacks a tiny bit in terms of charm, it makes up for it in comfort, location and cleanliness. There's an amazing man at the desk who can switch among 4 different languages fluently and rapidly.
