We were suprised that hotel is actualy one floor of the building but that didn't borther us afterwards. Location is excelent, only 10 min from all mayor atractions, near river Arno. Room was quiet, as we asked, and clean. Only problem, as we came by car, is car parking but there is garage near hotel (20E/day). Next time we would't look for another hotel in Florence.

We stay 4 nights, the hotel was very close to the train station. The staff speaks English and the rooms are very nice and clean. The breakfast is good. The parking for the car was only a few blocks away.

This hotel is conveniently close to the train station, beautifully furnished and polite and efficient staff. Not too far to walk to the Uffizi Gallery and the Duomo would be about 15-20 min.s walk. With 2 children it was convenient to find a hotel with a quadruple room which provided separate single beds as well as a queen bed. Only drawback is the complete lack of water pressure in the shower - made showering quite difficult. This hotel has a lift, which was so convenient, as it is on the 4th floor of the building.

We booked our three night stay at the Goldoni based on the excellent location and the previous reviews on this site, and we enjoyed our visit. The hotel is on the SECOND floor of an old building, so you must first ascend in the old wooden, hand gate elevator with your bags to arrive at the reception, the entryway off the street is a bit of a depressing public space. We arrived at night and a bell and intercom are used at street level to unlock the door for security. Parking for our car was available several blocks further along the same road, so that was convenient for Florence (20 Euros per day, which is average). The area is safe and well traveled. The staff was welcoming and helpful, always polite and friendly. The Hotel’s décor is tired and aged, as are the simple furnishings in the room. Our room was very spacious, located at the back of the hotel (room # 43 I believe) so it was extremely quiet, no street noise. No view, but large French doors opened to overlook an alleyway. In addition, the room had air conditioning, and even for our early October stay, it was useful. The tiled bathroom had a shower, the room very long and narrow but modern and clean. VALUE for MONEY, (location, size of room, etc) the Goldoni is an excellent choice and we will consider it again for our next visit to Florence. Breakfast was included in our booking. However, despite having a traditional espresso machine in the breakfast room, your coffee and cappuccino must be self-made from an automatic machine, which was rather disappointing. Of course, there are many small cafes nearby for a good espresso and brioche. If the breakfast were not included, I would simply venture out each morning instead of paying to eat in the hotel. If you can overlook the tired décor and second floor position, then this is a wonderful choice.

We stayed one night in Florence. The hotel was about a 7 minute easy walk from the train station. The hotel staff were very helpful, and gave us advice for sightseeing in our short stay there. They eve recommended a restaurant which was open on Monday (unusual) and it was excellent. The shower pressure left something to be desired, but the bathroom was a decent size. Great breakfast with an amazing cappucino machine and lots of fresh pastries, breads and cheeses. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was really small and not quite before 4 in the morning with a bathroom without window. Low price but low quality

The location was good. Don't think you are overlooking the river, it is a block off. The hotel itself is adequate and has a funky entrance. The bathroom was the smallest that we experienced on our 3wk trip. The staff was polite. The breakfasts were mediocre, easy to grab a pre-fab muffin to hit the Uffizi line up(2 long blocks away).

The room was very nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, by European standards - don't expect an "American" style breakfast. There is an abundance of food available, as well as a variety of beverages. The hotel is very well located to all sites you may wish to visit and very competitively priced. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return in the future.

We had room 23. It was huge! Very clean. One window with no view but very quiet. The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. The room was very clean. Close to everything. We walked from the train station easily. It was a 5 minute walk to Ponte Vecchio. It was great! Plenty of romm for a family of four. We would definitely stay there again.

The breakfast coffee from the dispenser was undrinkable but the staff was willing to make real coffee with the espresso machine. The shower in our bathroom was hard to regulate.

Arriving into 32 degree celcius heat when we were prepared for 24 degree weather, we were more than pleasantly surprised to find the Goldoni Hotel an oasis. It is clean, well-located to the main attractions of Firenze (Florence), and the staff were fabulous. We knew we would be arriving late so emailed Daniella to that effect and all was well. The hotel met the three main criteria we set before we chose: 1) well located; 2) air-conditioned; 3) lift (as we had heavy bags). It more than met our expectations regarding a beaut breakfast and general facilities. We would recommend the Goldoni and stay there again when next in Firenze.

Goldoni staff were very cordial and responsive. We would have liked rugs in the room, but other than that, everything was as expected. We asked for extra hangers and got them immediately. Same with an iron. Friendly and helpful staff. We asked for a quiet room and got one - in Florence! Location was great for our needs. All ratings were excellent or near so. These are relative to other 3 star hotels we have stayed in across Europe. Would definitely go back.

This is a small, elegantly refurbished hotel in a palazzo block that has real style. Its central location means that one can easily walk everywhere in Florence and there are plenty of good restaurants around. The car garage is just 200 metres up the road at a special price of 20 euros for a full 24-hour period. The only slight thing that went wrong for us was that we had booked two double rooms, and one of them turned out to be a bit small, with a very small double bed. After a little confusion, the management explained that we were getting a very cheap rate for these slightly smaller rooms. We were happy to upgrade one room to a superior double, at an extra 20 euros a night. Our advice would be to check exactly what type of double room you are getting. Breakfast is served in an elegant room and was quite ample though lacked eggs and meat. The management were all friendly and welcoming. An interesting historical touch is that Mozart stayed at the hotel in 1770 when on his tour of Italy. We will stay at the Goldoni again next time we visit Firenze.

We arrived early in the morning after an overnight train from Paris. The registration desk was great to get our rooms ready so that we could go ahead and check in early. The breakfast room was nice. The biggest complaint would be that the air conditioning did not work well in our rooms. Even after asking for it to be repaired, the room really wasn't much cooler. Florence was wonderful, the hotel was okay.

The location of the hotel is excellent for getting to the historic sites in Florence. The room was beatifully decorated. I had a hard time finding the actual hotel because there was only a small sign in the lobby and no indication it was on just the 2nd floor of the building.

The hotel is on the second floor (third floor in US. The room was extremely small. Parking was a problem because we needed to get our car at 5:30 am, and the garage was not to open until 6:00 am, which necessitated parking overnight in an open lot across the river.
