the comments I could read about this hotel on your site before my stay at the hotel could let me expect a good relationship price/quality. It wasn't the case once on the spot! Cleanliness of the room very poor, dusty, awful view on an interior junkyard, dusty tilling. The positiv points are the very good situation of the hotel in the town, nice employees and correct breakfast. As a conclusion I would say that even if you know that you stay in a 2 star hotel you can at least expect the rooms to be clean.

Spent two wonderful weeks at the Giada in February. Eva, Antonio and Maurizio were friendly and always willing to help. I had a single room which was ample in size for one person. The room was cleaned daily. The bath seemed to have been remodeled lately. I appreciated having shower doors, hot water, and a good shower spray. All the bathroom facilities worked well. The breakfast room was delightful and there was a good variation including breads, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereals, juice, meats and cheeses and coffee and tea. The location is great for seeing the sights and is walkable from the train station. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Good hotel next to the San Lorenzo church and market and walking distance to all sites. Very noisy as we were in an outside facing room to a side street where the market people would drag their carts. Earplugs needed. Breakfast was good and access to the internet was a bonus. Great market. Plenty of resturants in the area with reasonable prices.

Giada is, above all, very good value for money in a city where hotels are expensive. This is a small 2-star hotel so don't expect facilities outside your room because there aren't any to speak of: a small reception area (with a few seats and some reading matter) and a breakfast room. Our room was a good sized double for a European hotel, slightly dated decor but everything in good order and very clean. Bathroom was small but newly fitted and very clean. The rooms at the front can get a bit noisy - the hotel fronts onto the San Lorenzo street market and the traders start to set up early in the morning. There is also a bar so you hear voices until about midnight (no music though). These rooms also open straight into the breakfast room which is slightly disconcerting, but you get used to it. Other rooms are further back in the building and probably suffer less in this way. The breakfast served is a good continental buffet style - plenty of it and decent quality. The guy who serves it could learn to smile (and occasionally speak!) The location is excellent - right in ther heart of San Lorenze, you can reach all the major city-centre attractin sof Florence in an easy 10 minute walk (or in the case of the Medici Chapels, 45 seconds). If you are arriving in Florence by train the station is only a ten minute walk also (coach station another 5 mins). Despite one or two minor negatives Giada is a very good value hotel in Florence and recommended.

Our room was to the street and above a restaurant, so it was very noisy. But overall it was a good hotel and the price was good. Perhaps the other rooms were quiter. The Breakfast was very good. We liked it very much that the hotel was in the center (as you can see on the photos of the hotel). If you like to stay in this hotel we recommend you to ask for quite rooms.

As many others have said, the location of this hotel cannot be beat for the price. I've visited Florence before, but in such a centrally located hotel was a real treat. If you're room is right on the street, it can be loud. Also, the air conditioning didn't work great, so we had to sleep with the windows open.

I was very very disappointed. After all the online reviews I read, especially about the owners being welcoming, I found that this was not the case. The market outside makes it EXTREMELY noisy from 5.30am onwards. You hear evry single sound in your room, from talking, to doors slamming. I understand now why the hotel rating is so low. I will advise anyone to stay in a another hotel in the vicinity.

Small hotel right in the heart of Florence. Rooms are a good size, breakfast is adequate, but location is quite noisy at night. The main Florence market is at the front door which starts quite early in the morning and an alley way running down the side of the hotel outside our room which mean it was noisy all night.

the location of this hotel can't be beat. it's central to everything! i loved walking out to the bustling san lorenzo market every morning and waking up to the church bells. the price vs. quality of the hotel for the city of florence...is the best deal we've found. the breakfast is perfect. the rooms were very simple, yet clean. the staff was very nice. my boyfriend and i had a great time staying here...we even stayed an extra night! i would definetly stay here again and recommend it to any of my friends. thanks hotel giada!

The noise from the flea market right outside the hotel took some time to get used to. I would recommend that the hotel indicate in their introduction on the website that the market may hide their hotel sign but to look for the yellow building with green shutters. Regards.

The best thing about our stay at Giada was the staff. They went out of their way to help with arrangements for transportation and sightseeing. The location was central and easy to walk to train or bus station. Value of money paid to our stay at the Giada was excellent.

Located at the San Lorenzo Mercato, it was a noisy street scene each morning as all the vendors congregated. It all cleared out about 9:00 p.m., the streets were cleaned and it was amazing. The breakfast was great and the coffee the best in Italy. Our hostess was extremely helpful getting tickets and giving directions. Very convenient to train station and walking distance to all sites. Great place!

A fine hotel, clean, well run, and in a central location; the air conditioning and extensive breakfast spread make it a real value. The only problem is the noise, from the S. Lorenzo market and loud tourists at night.

Good hotel - very central location right beside San Lorenzo and the Medici Chapel. We got a 24 hour access card so we were free to return to the room whenever we wanted. Breakfast buffet was adequate - croissants, yoghurt, cereal, juice, cold meats/cheese etc. Room was of normal size for Italian hotel rooms, and we had all the facilities promised - air conditioning, safe, TV, phone etc. There was also internet access in the lobby. On our first day, we found that the previous occupant of the room had taken their key home with them so we had to leave it at reception for the day and come back by 11pm, but that was only one day and wasn't the hotel's fault. The staff at reception were quite helpful. Although there was a busy market right outside the hotel, we didn't hear any noise in the mornings, or any noise from the breakfast area etc, which was great (and we can't say the same for some other hotels in Italy!) One suggestion - the hotel should provide more photos of the hotel itself for the website. Michelle Murphy & Ben Curry July 04

The location is excellent, within easy walking distance of the major sights. Our room was a bit drab but clean and adequate. The water heater was right outside our room, and it turned off and on all night, making enough noise to be a nuisance. The staff was friendly.

I can honestly say that this was the best value hotel we have ever stayed in. The staff were extremely welcoming and pleasant and the cosy breakfast room overlooked San Lorenzo Square. Breakfast was excellent - choice of cereal, fresh fruit and eggs, ham, cheese and delicious fresh crusty rolls and croisants, all complemented by steaming cappucino. We will most certainly use this hotel on our next visit to Florence.

nice room, small and private (just one window tucked away in a small, small corner of the room). i slept well. good location, close to anything one might want to walk about in florence. the leather market is fun to shop around but if you are like me you'll have more fun walking through loads of slow moving street pedistrians in said market...just a 4 or 5 minute walk is the duomo. location - right on!

This hotel provides a great brakfast and great service for an excellent price. The staff (family owners) are all friendly and approachable. Being we were there in the middle of a heat wave the air conditioning provided much needed relief!! Our room also had a massage shower which was brilliant! Prime location near Duomo so we would recommend it to anyone who was keen to walk around the sites as its easy access to everywhere on foot.

The Hotel Giada fit our needs perfectly. Some of my favourite things about my stay there were the breakfasts (which included boiled eggs, meat and cheese), the ceiling fan in the room AND the portable A/C unit, internet access in the lobby, and the friendly, competent staff. The room itself was very large. The area around the hotel is colorful and exciting since it is the market area, but can be loud beginning around 4 am when the carts start arriving. (I thought it sounded like a true Renaissance street, with the wagon wheels clacking against the cobblestones, but it may not suit everyone!) Closing the windows cut out most of the noise. My only criticism would be that the room was pretty drab (cork board was the main decorative motif) and smelled strongly of some kind of disinfectant. But overall, it was a great stay, especially considering the price. I would recommend it to friends.

Hotel Giada is a very nice place to stay. The location is perfect, close to the center and the train station. It was a five minute walk to get to the duomo. The rooms are large enough. The one that we had did not have a window on the street, so it was absolutly silencious. The breakfast was excellent and there was also a computer that we could use with an internet connexion. We were very satisfied with our stay at this hotel.

Excellent location, 5 minutes walk from the station and Duomo. Wide choice of restaurants nearby, enjoyed Zsa-Zsa just by Mercato Centrale and re-visited Quattro Leoni trattoria, excellent not far from Piazza Santo Spirito but booking essential. Giada is a very comfortable, well located hotel with friendly and accommodating personnel. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel in such a beautiful city. I visited with my 15 year old daughter and felt very safe.

the owners were hospitable and friendly. our children were welcomed and indulged. although we would have preferred a room with ensuite facility, we knew at the time of booking that no such room was available. the shared bathroom and shower were kept clean and pleasant, as was the breakfast room. the location, so near to a grocery shop, was CONVENIENT and IDEAL for travelers with young children. the hotel location so near the friare (spelling?) and vaporetto were also ideal. thank you for a pleasant stay!

Very good value for money for a 2 star hotel in the centre of Florence hotel. We had a spacious room overlooking the Medici chapel and the leather market and amazingly it was very quiet. (Good insulation). A very pleasant buffet breakfast was included in the price.

Excellent location just 3 blocks walk from the train station and across the street from San Lorenzo and the Medici chapel. The staff was friendly and professinal. We asked for and got 2 rooms with a view but as they were at the front they opened off the breakfast room so sleeping in wasn't an option. On the plus side they were some of the largest we had on our trip and watching the street vendors set up in the mornings was free entertainment. Not really fancy but all in all quite nice. They also had a laptop computer set up for the guests to use to check our e-mail. I would gladly stay again or recommend this hotel to others.

With ideal location in the heart of the old quarter this small hotel offers a friendly service and excellent value for money. Being away from main roads & with double glazing, our room overlooking the market was quiet & our sleep undisturbed. The staff were friendly & efficient & were able to help with any information we needed. A good continental breakfast made a welcome start to the day & the thoughtfull little Christmas gift (we stayed mid December) we received at the end of our stay was the perfect finishing touch. Was I completely happy - Yes. Would I stay there again - Absolutely!

I was unfortunate enough to lose my credit cards in transit to Italy. The staff at Giada were extremely helpful, allowed me access to the net via their PC to obtain card details etc. & allowed me to call my card provider to cancel the card & authorise the payment. In addition the Hotel itself was centrally positioned, & extremely convenient. Highly recommended

Hotel Giada is a good choise, if you are looking for accomodation in central florence. Service is friendly (great cappuchino for breakfast, unfortunatly the tv was broken and it has not been replaced in the three days of our stay),the rooms are big, nice and almost quiet also the market is right in front of the hotel. I would stay there again! (A Generel problem in Florence: Parking your car is almost inpossible and very expensive)
