Hotel Franchi - Florence

I travel on a low budget and found the Franchi to offer high quality and value. I loved the very spacious, well-appointed and comfortable room and great bathroom - if you hate central Florence shoebox rooms this is for you. The staff were very friendly and helpful tho the fact that I speak Italian always makes life easier. Enjoy the hotel for its comfort and excellent facilities, don't expect scenic views from the window. Be aware however that the hotel is about five miles outside Florence and is best for car users. There are 3 buses to the centre (20-30 mins depending on time of day) but if you use them you will need to print out a Google map as the Franchi site is set some way back from the main road. For the return trip by bus it pays to fix some markers - you get off two stops after you see the arch of the railway bridge, or three stops after the Lidl sign. One niggle: you are charged for wi-fi when most hotels offer it free.

This hotel and the staff was certainly the best we have come across at(and we travel a lot).Excellent, helpfull, and friendly staff; clean, spacious rooms;situated close to the airport; 50 meters from bus stop- to the city (3 different busses as option)in 20 minutes.The breakfast was excellent and the staff is really, really friendly. This was worth the trip to Italy.

Excellent place to stay if you have to catch an early morning flight. Clean. Reasonable price. Staff was very kind to make us a nice capuccino at 4:30 a.m. and serve us some cake.

Noisy room due to deformed wooden frames of balcony door and window. Ugly area, hotel crammed between buildings. Not too clean.

The hotel is very very far from the city center. If one is looking for a quick commute, then this property isnt recommended. The walk from main bus stop to the hotel is short but its very quite and lonely during evenings and night time. There were 1-2 food joints near the hotel since the area was very residential, so you had to ensure you have food in city center before you return back to the hotel. The rooms were clean but the location of the TV was uncomfortable as it was like hanging from the cieling...

On the positive side were the employees, but our impression was set back when we entered the room and were overwhelmed with cigerette smoke. The toilet was very noisey and the door to the balconey would not close. The hotel advertises it is 300 meters from the airport but it it impossible to walk and the crazy road system requires a long loop and 1.5 km drive by car. Florence must have an idiot for a traffic engineer.

Very near the airport, clean, quiet and a king size bed! The desk manager was very helpful, ordered taxi for the next morning to the airport. She also called to check out other information for us, she was really outstanding! This is a great place to stay the night before a flight.

Good hotel, if you have a car and you know the city. staff were very nice and helpfull. wireless internet reception poor on last floor.

Just spent a night before my early departure from the airport. This is the place to stay for airport convenience. Easy checkout, rental car return, baggage check and at the gate much quicker than I thought. First flight of the day at 0640.

Is difficult to reach the city center on sundays due to lack of buses available that day.

The Franchi was a clean hotel with a nice breakfast. It is not a plush hotel but adequate and close to the airport. We would stay again if travelling in/out of Florence by air.

Great Hotel for location.. close to Airport. About a 5 min taxi ride. Not walkable from airport, but very very close. We were traveling by auto and friends traveling with us were flying out of Florence. Hotel was easy to access off Autostrada. Hotel staff made great recomendations dinner...we choose to take taxi into Florence...about 20 euro ride. Rooms very modern and clean. Staff very helpful. PS: Kate Moss and her entourage checked in as we left for dinner

This was the first time, we stayed in this hotel and we was satisfied with everything. maybe the breakfast was a little bit poor. overall we can recommend this hotel.

The Franchi was essentially just what we were looking for, a clean quiet comfortable hotel near the Florence airport for the night before our departure flight early the next morning. We were actually hoping to find a hotel within reasonable walking distance to the airport terminal. The walk from the Franchi was about 500 meters, and not pedestrian friendly. However, it was a short (5 minutes), reasonably cheap (15 euros) taxi ride to the terminal. I could not find a hotel within reasonable walking distance to the terminal when carrying luggage.

Friendly people and very helpfull!!!!!!!

Restaurant recommendation was poor, but hotel was just right for what we needed.
