The hotel was clean and spacious. Although the location was not ideal, transport to the city was very easy and accessible, with a bus stop right out the front of hotel. Wi-fi was free but very unstable, which was irritating. Carpark was free and close.

I was a bit concerned about booking a B&B hotel. After all, my wife and us are senior citizens. However, we were pleasantly surprised in that, although the common areas of the hotel are somehow informal, and younger people prevale among clients, the room we got was a large, conventional room with a very good bathroom, excellent beds and all the comfort expected of a 3 to 4 star hotel. The building is quite new and attractive. The only drawback, is that the younger audience are a bit noisier than we would have wanted, and the hotel walls are not as sound proof as I would have wanted

Sept 2011. Great Stay. Very nice property and friendly helpful owner. The rooms are very large for Italy, living room plus bedroom and of course your own bathroom. Shower was very small, but it worked. If you are a large tourist you might have a problem. On a busy street, but we didn’t hear the noise. The Villa sits back off the street separated by a large plaza. Nice quiet view out the back of the Villa with your own useable balcony. It’s about a 15 minute walk from the Pompeii train station. If you call from the station they will come pick you up. They will drop you off after your stay as well. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the back entrance of the Pompeii archeological site. All of the restaurants are in downtown Pompeii which is adjacent to the Train station and main plaza. So put on your walking shoes. The instructions regarding how to get there we received after our reservations need to be re-translated and are confusing. Let me try to put them better, from the basement of the Naples Central Station take the Circumvesuviana commuter train using the “green” line to “Pellezzano” (Usually track 3). Do not use the Purple Line to Sorrento (On the same track). This purple line to Sorrento mentioned frequently in the Rick Steves books also has a stop in Pompeii but it is a different stop some 40 to 45 min walk from the B&B. (On the far side, main entrance side, of the 160 acre Archeological site) The Pellezzano train stops at the Pompeii station 15 min from the B&B. Both trains run every 20 min. and both stop at Ercolano (Herculaneum). One option for Dinner is to take the Sorrento train to Sorrento (Change from Green to Purple trains at Torre Annunziata). A 5 minute walk from the station is a plaza with many nice restaurants close to the ocean. Plan an hour there and an hour back last train from Sorrento is at 10pm.

Wifi was incredibly poor. Did not work in the room and barely worked downstairs. Very disappointing as this was one of the main reasons we chose the hotel. I discussed it with the staff and they didn't seem to care. Free car park was great though. If they sorted out the wifi, then I would recommend.

The hotel room itself was clean and spacious, however, the staff was incompetent. We had to complain 3 times to get a room change due to the people next door smoking and talking/playing music way passed midnight. Smoking is not allowed in this hotel and when we went to request a new room the manager (an older woman with white hair who always looks lost) did not want to change our rooms. She always speaks in Italian and does not listen to anything you say. The location is far from the center but there is a bus stop about 2 mins walking distance. Overall, I'd rate this hotel a 0 because the staff did not try to accommodate us after all our complaints. We weren't able to go to sleep until around 1am, when we finally got a new room, because they insisted we stay in the smoke-filled room with loud, drunk neighbors. I would NOT recommend this hotel. The one located in Padova however, has amazing and helpful staff.

No internet access available in the room at my visit temporarily, only lobby and breakfast area have internet access. Not too much parking lots for hotel guests.

Hotel as expected for the price bracket.A bit tricky to get to if you miss the turn off down the parallel side road to the main carriageway.Bus stop is close by to get into city.Very easy to do.Hotel could have detailed this better.Deal on the breakfast meant we stayed to eat rather than find a local breakfast.Wish they would provide a second pillow !

This was the only hotel during our 2 weeks stay in Italy where triple room was a true triple room (3 single beds, two of them pushed together to form a double bed) not a double with an additional guest bed. The room was big enough the bathroom as well. The hotel is surrounded by block buildings and busy roads but if you keep windows shut then noise won't hurt you. There was air conditioner in the room and worked well. There were two elevators (one small and one big) so 4th floor was not a problem. Breakfast was not included in the room price but for altogether Eur 14.75 we got breakfast for three of us. It was not a usual continental but we could eat our fill. Breakfast service was slightly under our expectations, there were times without clean plates and cups and the scrambled eggs vessel was not replenished but overall it was OK. I recommend this hotel.

Not so bad, but very small and no facilities at all: I was looking for an iron but they didn't have one, so I had to go 2 Km away to the closest laundry.

Nice big rooms and we recommend to pay for breakfast in advance as it is good value. The 22 bus going into Florence stopped near the door and was very handy. Car parking was free and very good. A small nuisance was that the Internet did not work in the room so each time had to go to reception area to get a signal. Would stay here again and thoroughly recommend it.

The bathroom was not much, at the same cost, some hotels offer breakfast and there were few towels (there was only one for the shower and wash basin) compared to the standard. Also, the bathroom fan noise is excessive and should turn it in separately from the light. Overall, the quality of cleaning and dell'insorizzazione was excellent.

The hotel was very modern and nicely decorated. The drawing of the Duomo on the wall was very original, so was the lighting in the room. The beds had comforters with pure white covers and this was very nice change from the bedsheets and blankets offered in other hotels. The TV was a flat screen and had an outlet for USB stick, so everyone without laptop can browse through some digital pictures from his / her day. I also liked that there was a big shampoo bottle to use it for your body instead of the small soaps which dry your skin. The bathroom was also very modern and pleasant. The extras were the free parking and free Internet in the room. This was pretty good for the price of 69 Euro (no breakfast included) for room for 3 people. There was a coffee machine in the lobby and candy bars for sale at the reception which my daughter liked. There was a snack bar across the hotel but we preferred to eat at a pizza place across the Duomo. The receptionist (upon request) gave us a pretty elaborate map of Florence which we used during our stay. Generally, this was the best hotel we had in Italy and one of the less expensive as well. We will definitely stay in the same hotel if we come in Florence again. We also took the pamphlet for B&B hotels and we will stay in this chain in France and Germany as well.

The price and the position is good but considering that the hotel a 3*** accomodation the room are too small I think is unacceptable that there is no furniture into the room, no closets or drawers in the room where the rest Lingerie, there is no support base in the bathroom, no soaps for wash!

We stayed one night as we were leaving on an early morning flight. The airport is only minutes away. Parking was convenient and safe. We took the bus into Florence, it took about 20 minutes plus wait and a cab back which cost 10 Euros

This hotel is part of the small B&B Hotels chain. It's our first experience with this chain but it left us with a good impression. (If you can't get in this one don't worry, there is another one just a very short distance down the same road with a lobby that looks identical to this one from the road). The staff is welcoming and courteous, the entire hotel is very clean and modern and the beds comfortable. The downside of our stay were twofold: during the night it was very noisy with traffic noise even though the windows are quite new with double glazing, and even though Florence Airport is a relatively short distance away the only method of reaching it from this hotel is by taxi (5 - 10 minute ride for 12-15 Euros). This was odd because it should have been easily reachable on foot or by bus which goes by the hotel (#22). The only way to avoid this is to take the #22 to the main railway station and catch the Airport Express. But that's a hassle. However, we would stay at this hotel again.

Despite being located outside the old centre it is a very good hotel for few days stay in Florence. It is modern, simple but very clean and it has got everything you need. It is very easy to get to the centre of Florence by bus; the bus stop is located just outside the hotel. You can get bus tickets in the tabbacoo on the corner (where you can also enjoy nice coffee!). Florence is realy beautiful and I recommend it to everyone - a pearl of Italy!

Good location, spacious room. Renovation made recently. Exellent internet connection in the room. But super-modern design disappointed us. There was no any shelf in bathroom, very small sink, no space for toothbrushes, etc. Shower cabin half-open, so floor in bathroom was always flooded.

Stayed here two nights near the beginning of a two week road trip around Italy with my mother and daughter. The rooms were wonderfully quiet, breakfast excellent and staff friendly. Hotel restaurant was expensive for evening meal and there is nothing else obvious nearby. We ate at a doner kebab place where we were treated really well. The bus service into the city is almost outside the door of the hotel which is great.

A good hotel for business or professional activity. Far from the center, but close to the airport and highways. Easy to reach AND with a carpark (free), which is exceptional and highly valuable in Florence. But not an "hotel de charme".

Hotel exterior and surrounding neighborhood are well worn. That said, the hotel interior, rooms, and service were superior. Appeared to be business traveler oriented. 3 rooms for only 1 night. Very close to airport but taxi still charged 24 euro each (2 taxi) for trip. Would not advise any tourist driving to this hotel. Maze of highways in the area. Very intimidating. Or was was it me? Internet access. Wakeup call was prompt and box lunch for all 6 was prepared for early am flight. Hotel served the purpose we required for less money than some others in the area.

Location is near the airport with convenient public bus to downtown. Nice hotel for the money. Restaurant is very good, but a bit pricey. The staff, however, was tremendous. We had car problems and Guisseppe, from the front desk, went above and beyond the call of duty to assist us with finding a reliable mechanic during the holidays.

We had a nice stay at this hotel. It was a little far away from the city center of Firenze, but there was a bus stop very close to the hotel and there were bus tickets available at the front desk. We think that the quality here was just right for the price.

After 2 weeks in Tuscany, I chose the Hotel Alexander for one night because it was very close to the airport for our early morning departutre. The staff was very helpful allowing us to register upon our early arrival. The room was very clean, however, very noisy and the beds were terrible. The breakfast included in the price was decent, the coffee bad. It was adequate for our needs but becasue of the the noise and bad beds would not stay there again.

Commentssent to the Hotel via form in room were: A. Consider room ceiling fans to aid in cooling effect (universal need through out our stays in Croatia and Italy Except at Hotel Alpi/Rome. B. Bar area seating is "hot" due to sun light coming into seating area. Heats room up, limits choices where to sit and be out of sun light. Awning outside or other means needed to atinuate the room warming effect. Otherwise, very nice lounge area.

This was a very nice hotel, with a very friendly staff. In spite of an early departure from the Florence airport, the staff had a nice breakfast in a bag waiting for us as we left the hotel! I was glad that the woman at the front desk spoke such good English. I speak French, but not Italian, and she was very accomadating. I'm sorry I did not write her name down.
