Most of the great houses in this street close to the station contain several small hotels or B&B's. Fiorita occupies the 3rd floor of a well-maintained building. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are reasonably spacious. By leaning out a little from the window in our room we could even see Brunelleschi's cupola. The location is more practical for traveling than sightseeing, even though it is not really a long walk to the centre. On the whole, this small hotel can be thoroughly recommended.

Since this was not our first visit to Florence we planned to visit other places by bus or train on our four full days we were there. using SITA buses we visited Siena, Greve in Chianti in the wine region on a Saturday since on that day there is an open air market in the main square, and San Gimignano with a change of bus at Poggibonsi on a Sunday. Being winter the service to San Gimignano from Florence is very limited and far in between. On Monday we visited the walled city of Lucca, again being winter and a Monday where most shops open only late in the afternoon, the atmosphere was very quiet. Lucca we visited by train with good connections from Florence every half hour. Both Bus and Train Stations are about 2min walk from Hotel Fiorita, whilst just round the corner from the Hotel there is Via Faenza which is for pedestrians only and leads to the open Market, San Lorenzo, and Duomo. Agood restaurant for Tuscan Food was 'Enzo and Piero' in Via Faenza and 2min walk from Hotel Fiorita. I would certainly return to Florence and Hotel Fiorita which is very good value for money.

The hotel is located in a quiet street close to train station. Very good location. The staff is very nice and helpful. Room is spacious and quite clean. We have a small balcony where we can see Duomo. Euipment is ok but in the bathroom there is no drainage, which is troublesome. Apart from that there is no complaint.

Fiorita is literally next to the station and to the airport bus but on a quiet street. Then when spotting the sign of the hotel among many other signs, you might become a bit suspicious, but don't let the creaking small elevator or climbing up to the third floor put you off - Fiorita is a gem; cosy, clean, friendly, quiet, the breakfast is good with proper coffees. As repeated in the reviews the reception makes all the effort to help and advise. There is traditional Tuscany athmosphere; the furniture, old doors, window shutters - and the views - but at the same time it's a modern place (BBC worldnews at channel 75). The hotel is much better than many other Italian or other European city "two stars" and certainly value for money. Seems to be easily fully booked at least this time of year (Sept). Internet is available at the hotel, also in the room (no wireless) but you'll get it much cheaper in Faenza street internet cafes, around the corner.

The hotel was excellent in all respects except it's closeness to the bus station, which meant that it was noisy from very early in the morning. However the room, breakfast facilites, and staff were all brilliant and we'd actually chosen it to be close to the transport links.

We were very satisfied. The Fiorita is on a street of many hotels, each hotel being on a separate floor of each building. The Fiorita is on the 3rd floor, above other hotels on the floors below. There is a quick and convenient lift up to the Fiorita. When we first checked in, we were given a room at the front of the hotel, facing the street. The hotel is only a block from the train station, and busses are always coming and going, parked on the street with their engines running, so the street can be very noisy. We like to have the window open, so we asked to be moved to a tranquil room in the rear of the hotel, which overlooked a quiet courtyard of trees, gardens, and songbirds. It was perfect. The bed was large and very comfortable; the shower was spacious, as were the closets; the hotel staff was friendly, helpful, and very accommodating, spoke English well. The room was generally clean, altho the floor and other surfaces needed dusting. Good location, good value for the money, no need to pay more, no need to look elsewhere. We would stay at the Fiorita again. Just be sure to get a tranquil room at the rear if you like to have your window open.

Our double room was spacious with a balcony and a magnificent view of the roof tops of Florence. The bathroom was clean and of a reasonable size compared to others we had experienced. The heating was good although the room became a little too warm during the night. We enjoyed the continental breakfast (limited choices but always fresh)which was available on the top floor with beautiful views of the roof tops of Florence. The area was kept very clean. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and most spoke good English. We particularly appreciated the service provided by the young lady who looked after the breakfast room. We found the Internet connection very helpful. The location was excellent, easy to get to from the railway station and centrally located for easy access to the main tourist and shopping sites in Florence. We stayed during the low season for two weeks and so we were able to get a lower rate per night which made it possible for us to stay in Florence for an extended period of time.

This was exactly what we were after in Florence - close to the train station, clean, quiet and spacious. The location was fine - within an easy 10 minute walk to the Duomo. Breakfast is served upstairs - which we didn't know and missed out while we were there! Highly recommended.

The biggest advantage was the proximity to the railway station. Rooms were clean and the staff was helpful. Breakfast was not exceptional but was not bad either. The most interesting places in Florence were in walking distance from the hotel. All in all very good value for money.

I have to say that I was not the most well rested traveller i.e. I was grumpy when I eventually arrived at Florence's main railway station. But I was stunned to note that the hotel was literally in the street parallel to it. The hotel (housed in a big rustic building) was the first door I came to. It had one of those quaint caged lifts. I was treated with the utmost servility and the fact that I spoke not a word of Italian did not hinder matters. Sometimes you book 2 star hotels and you fear for your life. But this was great. My bed was a big single and very comfortable. The bathroom (and the reason I chose this hotel) was a nice size complete with bidet! Towels were generous in number and substantial. There was a large window that looked down onto a court yard, so apart from the internal noise the room was quiet. To find the breakfast room was easy (top floor). I got there early in the morning and I had a pick of several views over Florence's rooftops. The one draw back I can say about the hotel is that they only had 1 computer for the internet. I was fine as I only needed to use it once but in the evening when several people had come back from exploring the city I can imagine the problems although there was an internet café at the end of the street run by a guy who spoke very little English (but better than my Italian) who loves soft rock - go figure! The hotel staff were great with the maps, directions and the booking of tours. The hotel was within walking distance (and you might as well walk, Florence is so accessible by foot) off two main streets that take you to the heart of Florence's sightseeing. I have to say I actually hated Florence - but I fell in love with Michael Angelo's David. I wish there had been a fund for the staff. As I said I was not the most easy guest and they made my stay enjoyable.

Our double room was clean and spacious. Plenty of towels, and the bathroom didn't steam up. The a/c cooled down our room significantly, once we'd let it run a while (mind, Florence hit 100F, so even a 20 degree drop in temperature is significant!). The staff were welcoming and very helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent--train and bus station one block away, and Florence is mostly flat, so it's quick to get anywhere to see the sights. Excellent value for money (EUR70.20 per night). We definitely would stay here again.
