We spent 5 days in Hotel Fiorino. We were very content with everything - friendly staff, clean room, breakfast etc. During the booking transaction, I required a quiet room. So our room was to the backyard. The only noise was that of the air-conditioner, but better than the noise in the street (cars, vespas, music of discos). I would recommend the Hotel Fiorino without any restrictions.

You simply can't beat the location! The room was very comfortable, staff friendly and accommodating. No lift. Hotel turned A/C off at midnight saying that it cooled down at night (not by my standards). This was last week of May, so perhaps they run it all night during the summer. Overall, great hotel!

Central to major attractions. Off the main stream. Continental breakfast was adequate. Room overlooked area off breakfast room where smoking was allowed under an umbrella. Had to close window in the morning as staff (?) and guests smoked and smoke wafted up to our room. Overall, would recommend hotel.

The location of this hotel couldn't have been better for me. 2 min walk to the Uffizi and Pont Vecchio and a short walk to every other major attraction. The breakfast was adequate, with a freshly made cappacino and fresh fruit. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The sound in the halls echoed throughout the place due to the tile floors throughout, but was quiet at night. The staff were very helpful in obtaining a reservation for me. As well, they offered me a jacket and umbrella if I needed it. Very impressive.

I was a single female traveller staying in Florence for a few days. This hotel is perfect for walking around the city centre. The staff were great, breakfast is simple, but room was very clean and spacious. Its a bit of a walk to the train station (about 20 minutes away), but definitely worth staying there for comfort through the day to come and go as you please, and to stay in a hotel close to all of the main attractions. Would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Unsurpassed location for tourism in Florence, clean, practical, "Spartan" rooms, friendly staff, adequate breakfast, good value for money and thus exceeding my expectations. Up stairs, no lift and unsuitable for the disabled. We will not be looking for another hotel if we wish to visit Florence again.

Good location - very close to Uffizi. Easy to find. Only disadvantage is that you need to climb 2 flights of stairs, so if you have baggage, it gets a tad difficult. The takeaway joint just near the hotel is good.

Warm welcome and perfect location in the city for whom arrives by foot (narrow street). Quiet at night even being right in the middle of the city centre. Variety of food for breakfast still could be improved (no fruit and poor quality of orange juice).

The area was a bit run down and the room was a bit run down as well. The location was great, though and if you only think about 'head on a bed', it was more than adequate.

This was our first visit to Florence. The Fiorino staff were great, had a good command of English, and were very helpful especially regarding parking our hire car. Our room was very comfortable and accessible, a little noisy for a brief period in the early morning. The breakfasts were simple but tasty and adequate. Should we return to Florence we would happily use this hotel again.

A small hotel in an excellent location. Plenty of places to eat round about and perfect for all major sightseeing and the hop on, hop off bus. Very quiet as it is just off a busy steet. Vey friendly staff. Breakfast very limited but plenty to eat. My room - a single was ok, very clean but very old fashioned furniture. After saying that I would definitely stay there again.

I stayed at this hotel with my wife for a prolonged week-end (4 days). We just love this hotel. It is very comfortable, romantic, wonderful staff, beautiful garden and has an excellent location for visits to museums, restaurants and other places. There was some noice from the family across the garden, but the church bell every hour was comforting, even at night. We shall certainly go back here next time in Florence.

Staff was very good, spoke good English and were friendly. hotel is on a dingy street, but location area is good. close to the Piazza and Ufizzi. Room was extremely small, and air/condit was not up to the task. no screens on windows so you can't leave windows open for fear of skeeters ! Overpriced for the room, but it is in FLorence, so you must expect to be gouged !

The rooms were small and spotlessly clean. Perfect for a budget traveler. No need for a cab, #23A bus from the train station got us to within 2 blocks of the hotel. As other reviewers have said, the area was most convenient. A short walk took us to quite a few major sights. I would stay at the Hotel Fiorino, again, and would recommend it to friends and family.

Excellent location in the middle of everything. Compared to Fiorence prices this hotel offers a very reasonable price/quality relationship. However, please note that you cannot expect a quite location in the city centre. Consider to have breakfast in a cafe nearby.

Our rooms were fine, the staff was helpful and pleasant, speaking good English. They recommended a good restaurant where we were treated well and had a great dinner. Breakfast was plentiful and more than adequate. Our only complaint was the continuous noise from the alley in front of the hotel. Street vendors use the garages across the narrow alley to store their carts, so all night long we heard talking, metal doors being lifted, carts being pushed or driven in, doors closing, and scooters leaving. It was quiet for about 2 hours, then they came back to start another day and it was noisy again! Request a room on the back of the hotel, although there weren't that many. Otherwise a good value for the location and service.

Fantastic central location. Very nice/helpful staff. I was a single traveler with a recent knee problem. They accomadated me by keeping a "jell pack" in their freezer for my knee. Great neighborhood, lots of small restuarants and facilites. Strongly recommend this hotel

We are a couple in our 40s with 13 and 9 year old daughters. We visited Florence April 26-28, 2008 and spent 2 nights in a 4 person room on the first floor of this very nice hotel. It is located in a quiet street 5 min walk from the Uffizi Gallery and the Arno river, 10 min walk from the Duomo and 15 min walk from the Gallery of the Academia. Overall, it was very accessible to all major sites in Florence (we never needed to take a cab and walked everywhere). There are numerous of restaurants within a walking distance. The hotel overall was very clean. The room was spacious in European terms. 1 queen size bed and 2 separate single beds for the girls. The bathroom was huge in European terms and included a bathtub. Decent breakfast is served 8am-10am which was filling to us (the cappuccino was very good!). The breakfast staff was attentive in refilling missing items. The front desk staff was friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. They spoke English at a basic level and assisted us with recommendations to local restaurants, calling cabs and such. We stayed at a room (104) on the first floor which was close to the reception area and shared a wall with the breakfast hall. If you are among the late risers, you should ask for a room at a higher floor. There was no elevator from the street level to the lobby.

The Fiorino was a clean hotel with a helpful staff. It is a bit tough to find as it is a short ways up an alley, but very close to all the actions. Many nice restaurants nearby as well as major attractions. Internet service is available in the lobby for 1 Euro per 30 minutes. It was nice to catch up on some US news and sports. Rooms are a bit tight as is to be expected. They also had a nice "continental" type breakfast available in the morning included in the room price. Overall a high recommendation. The night staff even manage to open a bottle of wine for us around 3:00 am.

This hotel is only 2 minutes from the Piazza della Signorina (Galeria Uffizi, etc). The staff was very friendly and helpful. One staffer came to adjust the radiator in my friend's room twice. The single rooms are rather small, but clean. The walls were awfully thin -- I could here what was happening a few rooms away! The breakfast offered was pretty sparse -- even by continental breakfast standards. However, I think the hotel's location and friendly staff make up for any shortcomings.

This hotel was a jewel. The staff was fantastic. Located between dumo and ponte vecchio it was in a great location but on a quite street/lane. We were pleased to find restaraunts that catered to locals which resulted in great food and not so tourist like prices.

We quite enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Fiorino. The location was perfect, 2 minutes to the Uffizi Galleria and 5 minutes to the Ponte Vecchio. The staff was very gracious, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and they made the best cappuccino in the city. Although our room wasn't large, it was clean and had a large armoire that gave us plenty of storage. I would definitely return to this charming hotel.

Unfortunately they only had a twin room available upon arrival (we had booked a double), however because the staff were very friendly and apologetic, we accepted the twin. The rooms are reasonably spacious, the bathrooms fairly modern, breakfast reasonable and the location excellent, 2 minute walk from the Uffizi Gallary. Overall, perfect for a short term stay.

When I got there, I was a little surprised the hotel did not have an elevator, and when I got to the room I did not like it at all. However, this family hotel has a wonderful and very competent staff, and when you realize you are only two steps aways from Piazza della Signoria for a very low price, you understand this is a great choice.

This hotel is great. Nice location and centrally located to shops, restaurants and museums. I liked it so much, I rebooked for 3 nights on my way back through Florence at the end of the month. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Good price for safe, clean, comfortable location.
