Hotel Ester - Florence

Hotel meets expectation except the Wi-Fi. Signal was very weak at all times. Hotel location is great and they give vouchers for breakfast at nearby cafes.

Great location. Basic, clean room with nice view. Computer available. Friendly staff!

Spacious room (we had a quadruple), not too noisy, considering the area, not the most appealing surroundings, but if you want to stay close to the train station it´s good enough. more of a hostel feeling, with the advantage of access to a kithcen.

Thie small hotel is conveniently located, just a five minute walk from the train station. It is within easy walking distance as well from all the main sights in Florence. The room was spacious and clean. Bathroom functioned well. Staff service was excellent. They washed our laundry for free. There was no dryer, but they provided a rack where the clothes could be hung up to dry overnight. Guests received a voucher for breakfast at a nearby restaurant where you were allowed any two of sandwich, danish or fruit cup, plus juice and coffee. It was more than adequate.

Regarding price vs quality I found this to be the best hotel in Florence, and I was not disappointed. In advance, I asked for a quieter room, and I think my wish came through. The thing is, Ester Hotel has three properties/areas, and we got a nice room in a side street called Via Fiume, which was quieter than in the main street 50 meters away from there. Having said that, Florence is quite noisy regarding traffic, especially this near the station Santa Maria Novella, I suppose. Having the railway station so near was excellent in another way, because it was very easy to get back to Rome and also to Siena, where we went for a day.

Rosanna was very helpful and accommodating. Great location, very close to railway station and sights. WiFi in rooms, and the optional use of a kitchen to cook in.

This stay was very pleasant and really nice and friendly hospitality! The staff is very nice and pleasant. Ask "Rosanna" if you're French, she speaks very well. It's a wonderful person and she will put you at ease immediately. I keep a really wonderful memories of those few days in this hotel. Ce séjour fut très agréable et l'accueil vraiment sympathique et convivial! Le personnel est très gentil et avenant.Demandez "Rosanna" si vous êtes français,elle le parle très bien. C'est une personne formidable et elle vous mettra à l'aise tout de suite. Je garde vraiment un merveilleux souvenir de ces quelques jours passés dans cet hôtel.

It was a great location being next to the train station, eateries and supermarket. The Skype, internet, SKY (cable TV) in every room was a BIG bonus, especially we had to research, book tickets etc. Room is cosy and generally comfortable. On the negative side, the room I was allocated was next to to a shower and the water leaked into the room. There was also a funny stench at another corner of the room which I suspect the cleaner might have stuck some wet cloth (for days) to stop water from seeping through. As the room faces the street with the windows open means noise is inevitable. But I was dead tired everyday to be bothered by that. If I had a choice, I would pick another establishment by Ester (Maison de Charm) which I stayed there for a night.
