The location of this hotel was excellent, the morning coffee really good, price reasonable and the manager helpful. I can't quite get over the filthiness of carpets and mattresses.

Besides my excellent opinion of the room, cleanliness, rates, et. I would like to emphasize the outstanding reception and attention given by the Manager? or person in charge of the hotel. He was very helpful in all areas. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Staff was very helpful and always present. The location is really good in the center of the city, but the nearby garages are a bit noisy. Ideal hotel for students and younger travelers, but I think inappropriate for business or a bit older travelers. Fortunately WiFi worked fine.

Wonderful location (even if it is down an allyway). We were just about the only guests in the hotel. The rooms were decent, without being special. Nevertheless for the price, they were good, especially considering it is Florence at the beginning of the high season. The shower is the old fashioned Italian type (the entire bathroom is the shower). It is not the kind of hotel to stay in if you mean to use it during the day or have a young family. The public areas are poor. Breakfast was thin and not fresh, but again, one must keep in mind the excellent price/ value ratio. I picked this hotel because of its central location to the train station and the centre of Florence. On these two measures the Esperanza really scores.

Accommodation was clean and of reasonable size for the money. breakfast was a little basic, but otherwise fine. The owner was both very friendly and helpful. Although a little off the main road, the location was very central. There were no wi-fi facilities or TV in the room, but to be honest that was not a problem for us, as we wanted somewhere clean and tidy, centrally located, at a reasonable price where we could just put our heads down. This fit the bill exactly.

I had a very nice stay at Hotel Esperanza although the room was very small. It was a single room and ok for two nights. The location of the hotel was great, only few steps from Duomo.

Sorry, I have to give this "hotel" a lower rate because we were suffered the hot temperature during the 3 days stay in it. We have to leave the window openned to get wind from outside although it had little help. There were some mosquitos, and we were all being bited. There is no elevators for any floor, and we have to climb the steps everyday when returning back. The gentlman of the front desk is nice, but without talking anything. He prepared the breakfast everyday.

WE WERE FIRST TIME IN FLORENCE. WE STAYED TWO NIGHTS IN THE HOTEL. THE HOTEL IS QUITE WELL LOCATED IN THE AREA OF OLD CITY OF FLORENCE AT THE SIDE NARROW STREET. IT'S RATHER LOW STANDARD HOTEL BUT THE ROOM WAS EQUIPED WITH THE BATHROOM. THE BREAKFAST SERVED IN THE HOTEL IS RATHER VERY MODEST. SUFFICIENT CHOICE FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO SPEND A FEW DAYS IN FLORENCE AND LOOK FOR THE PLACE TO SLEEP. THE HOTEL IS SITUATED AT THE RESTRICTED AREA FOR PRIVATE CARS; ON THE GROUND FLOOR OF THE NEIGHBOUR BUILDINGS THE SO CALLED GARAGES ARE SITUATED; THE PRICE STARTS FROM 24 EURO/NIGHT.

location is great and the room is clean. The shower is rather small but acceptable for short stays. The man at the reception is super helpful. I asked for information regarding events in other cities nearby and he called travel agency for me right away! The room by the street is not really quiet because there's a parking lot downstairs.

If you want a no frills stay in an excellent location for a reasonable price this is the place for you! The rooms are a little dingy with no view but clean. The location is perfect and the price makes this worthwhile. Drawbacks are the steep stairs (even if you get a room on the first floor you must go up one flight) and the limited breakfast (cappucino and melba toast with jam every morning). I never saw or was offered the outside sitting pictured in the photographs and we stayed during early summer. Plan on eating breakfast elsewhere. Be sure to see the medieval nobleman's house nearby.

as someone has written before, the welcoming is so friendly. small room, super small bathroom but the stay is quiet, coll and that's enough for a single traveler rolling all over the city to get the right thing on holyday in a city like that, so, rooms are ok for people that need something just to sleep and rest for a while

A good place to stay, near to everything you want to see in Florence (minutes of walking, and you're at Uffizi, or in Piazza della Signoria). Rooms are clean, big enough, just "poor" as forniture. Breakfast is good (you can taste a good cappuccino, as in a bar) even if food is not from bakery. The staff is very polite and talks english. The right choice for a quick break in one of the most beautiful cities in the world :-)
