Good location, near the train station and central market, close to the Duomo. Room was large and very comfortable. Paintings adorn the rooms and hallways. Staff is very friendly. Can't beat the price.

the hotel was quite easily reached on foot from the station s. maria novella, around 10 minutes. the staff were friendly, polite and competent, the room was small but clean and the private bathroom was also clean. for the price i paid i was very happy. there is free internet, a big plus. the best hotel i have stayed at in florence for the price i paid, so i would definitely come back.

Quality hotel, wrongly marked on the map as it is further up the street than indicated. Very central in Floence, everything in walking distance. helpful staff and very good value for money.

Good location, close to railway station (although not just 300m as stated, but at least 600m) and a short walk away from Duomo. My external private bathroom looked newer than shabby room, but the hot water pressure at the shower was very weak and I had an occasional problem with the toilet flush. I also missed rail/hooks for my clothes. I believe that towels were not changed during my five day stay. The room was dark (not bright as on photos) and cold. The bed had very uncomfortable and wobbling mattress. One evening upon return I found my room unlocked. Free Internet access is actually just one computer almost always already occupied by other guests. Front desk staff kind but reserved.

The room was situated right beside reception with vurtually no soundproofing. The window was facing a inner backyard and locked. In fact not satisfactory when it comes to fire safety. In addition, I experienced the hotels disability to deliver hot water in the morning. Some questions to staff made me to conclude that the sanitary facilities not at all were suited to the requirements of this hotel.

What a gem of a Hotel. Especially considering the value for money aspect. The staff are great. If you need advise on where to go or any help don't be afraid to ask. Only downside is the Hotel can be difficult to find. Would I return - absolutely

This is a good hotel for budget travellers. Hotel is well run with very helpful staff. Hotel is 50m from a huge market that is open 6 days a week. Accom is very clean and rooms in good condition. Free access to the internest was great for keeping in touch. Walk up the stairs with suitcases was only blemish on otherwise great accom. Note it is located in a street with a non sequential numbering system (at times) so just keep walking.

The hotel was excellent value for money. All the facilities were exactly as described and the staff were helpful and friendly. The location is a little far from the centre of town but this was not a problem for us.

We enjoyed our stay, and there was conditionned air in the room. Even if the bathroom wasn-t in the room, it was easy to use. Just one thing, there was no cold water, and when it's 40°C outside, it's a bit hard to stand.

Excellent location very near train and Duamo and huge S. Lorenzo markets. Compass and map are required in this city due to narrow curving streets constantly changing directions. No breakfast area/breakfast extra. Very useful free Internet station (one). Friendly english speaking staff. Street and front desk noise a bit loud thru windows and door (typical of most smaller hotels). Ask for room away from both and shared toilet. No elevator - up a long flight of stairs from street. From train, take 1st left at tourist stands (busy street not marked!), then right at park middle street, then left and hotel on left. Best city view from Piazza s. Michaelangelo above city (bus #12? near McDonalds at train) Buy ticket at Tobacco shop and validate when boarding. Nice downhill walk back from there. Book museums prior day to avoid lines. Gelato is wonderful.

if you realy wont to pay 80 euro for absolutely nothyng than you are in "Enza" on the right place. the room was ok, but for this price you can realy expect nice view and a schower cabine that dosent have holes in the doors the only think that was realy good was the welcoming of the nice lady in the reception. we were also in other hotels in Florence that were cheaper and much better.

With 11 degrees and a freezing wind outside we could have wanted a better heating system than an a/c blowing out warm air. Extra blankets helped a bit, but still we were cold. This hotel really suited our budget and needs. My only concern was the state of the bathroom which was generally clean with two exceptions: 1) mould on the shower tiles (which could be wiped off and wasn't) and 2) a faint smell of urine when you first entered, indicating the need for some deep cleaning. Don't get me wrong, the overall look of the bathroom was quite fine and the room itself was clean and comfortable. Staff were considerate and helpful. And the supplementary breakfast was good value.

This hotel was a great value. . Despite our room being different from the one pictured on venere,we still got a nice room. Only drawback was it didn't have its own bathroom. The service was good and welcoming the location was excellent. (that isn't saying to much because of Florence's small size just about any hotel you stay at will be a good location.) There was 24 hr computer access in the lobby and eventhough the bathroom was down the hall there really wasn't any problems. When we wanted to use the bathroom or cleanup it was available. Breakfast was also included but we never took advantage of it because we slept in to late. If you do take advantage of the breakfast keep in mind you have to order it the night before. Great hotel we would recommend to anyone.

Florence in general is smelly with dog poops everywhere, but I can't open the window in my room because of the strong sewer smell. My room is a single room, and my bed is as wide as the width of my pillow. I am a small guy so it is fine, but I don't think it would work if you have a heavy set or tend to move around a lot in bed. I don't think they mention but they have a computer with internet connection that you can use for free in the lobby. That is nice. You can leave your luggage there and pick up later. The front desk staff are helpful but could be a little bit friendlier.

We were on our honeymoon and found Hotel Enza to be delightful. The hotel doesn’t have a lift, so make sure you can carry your luggage up a couple of flights of stairs. The bed was comfortable (not too firm) and the staff was pleasant and knowledgeable.

If you are looking for an economical simple place with a comfortable bed because you are going to be out all day exploring Florence, then Enza would be ok. Excellent hotel. Two remarks : on the website it said the hotel is located at 300 meters from the railway station. This is absolutely not true: it's about a 15 minute walk!! The staff was very friendly, only the person that checked me in (I arrived around midnight) was very slow to actually arrive at the desk - I had to wait for two minutes after I rang the bell before he showed up - and was not too friendly. The people that work the morning and afternoon shifts, were extremely nice and helpfull.

The only thing we disliked, was the fact that we a couple of times picked up our own key - there was nobody at the reception, and we could easily have picked up any key we wanted.. The hotel was okay, but not as central as we had hoped, though The Accademia was close.

The room was very spacious and I liked having the shower and sink in my room and free use of the internet was appreciated. The only suggestions would be to include breakfast for the room cost and to put up some sort of door felt to quieten the sound of doors closing which was extrememly loud.

It met the standard expected. For the low price is it ok to stay for a short journey, 2-3 days. As an accomodation to feel comfortable for a weeks holiday or longer it is not to recommend. The saty at Hotel Enza was disappointing to say the least. We travelled all over Italy over a period of 11 days, had a great time, but the stay in Florence was marred by Hotel Enza. The temperatures were running at 40 degrees C and inspite of specifically booking for a room with Air conditioning, the AC in the room wouldn't work. When we requested that the AC be checked out, the receptionist came up and said in a dismissive way that there wasn's a lot he could do! He would not let us move to a room where the AC worked; we asked for a table fan which was promised but did not arrive for over 2 hours; we had to go down to the reception and ask again before the fan came up. The next day, the rude receptionist insisted on charging us the full AC charge and when we asked to speak to the manager to clarify the issue, he claimed he was the manager and started wragling his hands in the air and was really rude. The room was on the top floor (2nd floor) with steep steps and no lifts. There was no help available with the luggage either. The shower just about worked and the room was just about OK. My most sincere suggestion would be 'Save Your Money and Go Else-where'. We had excellent rooms in Rome and Venice which are ususlly more touristy and busy.

Enza is in a central location and only 10 minutes or so walk from the Duomo and Uffizzi. Staff were very welcoming and efficient and spoke English. Single rooms were small and not a/c; double room was a/c but had a TINY bathroom. Enza is on 1st and 2nd floor with quite steep stairs so not good for the infirm. We drove to Florence - finding the hotel was difficult because of the maze of backstreet but there was a guarded garage just down the road where we could leave the car. I would use Enza again when staying in Florence.

Enza is very easy to find from Firenze Santa Maria Novella Railway Station if you have a map. The walk is merely 5-10 mintues so you don't have to drag your bags for too long. The area is safe and within walking distance from major tourist attractions. If you are looking for a budget stay with basic amenities, this is a place for you. Shared bath felt a bit inconvenient but the toilets were clean (one was too small though) and not too difficult to access any time of the day. They have free internet which is a great facility.

Located about 10 to 15 minutes from center by foot. And NOT a ten minute walk from train station with luggage. It was overall a pretty good place to stay for someone on a budget in Florence. This was an excellent hotel, considering the price. The staff was friendly and helpful (and mostly English-speaking). The shared bathroom was very clean and even spacious. Free internet access in the lobby was certainly convenient. Some complaints: I couldn't get help from the front desk attendant one evening when trying to get an outside line to make a call, and couldn't see out the window of the room at all (I assume the bars, etc. were ... for security reasons? The only drawback for someone with large bags was the stairs and lack of an elevator, but the staff helped with the bags also. sympathique et agréable, l'hotel Enza n'a que deux petits inconvénients très minimes: 1.les portes des chambres sont fines au points de laisser passer tous les sons du couloirs. 2. We arrived at Enza after a long tiring day travelling from Rome. We negotiated the Florence traffic in the dark - not bad for first time drivers in Italy - via San Zanobi is quite hard to find because of the one way system. We were met by a delightful receptionist who spoke excellent English. Our party was four adults - 2 singles and a double. Our double room had a tiny but adequate en-suite. The two singles shared bathrooms but had no problems. One of the single rooms was quite small but had a lovely painted ceiling. The hotel is situated is a quiet street. We were at the back but as in Rome, we suffered from very noisy neighbours who seemed to have no concept of how thin the walls were - fine for normal situations but not when the bed is banging on the wall all night! Despite this, we would stay at Enza again with ear plugs probably as it represents good value for money, is in walking distance of the Duomo, Uffizi etc and all the staff who looked after us were charming and helpful.

How to reach Hotel Enza
By car
The complex is easy to reach from the highway. Exit Firenze Nord, 3 minutes from the hotel. Follow the indications to Fortezza da Basso. Take viale Lavagnini and turn right on via santa Caterina d'Alessandria and right again on via Nazionale. Turn left on via Guelfa and left again on via Santa Reparata. Then turn left on via V Aprile.
By train
The hotel is 10 minutes on foot from the Santa Maria Novella railway station. It is preferable and quicker to arrive on foot. Take via Nazionale straight until via V Aprile. The structure is on the corner of via V Aprile and via Zanobi.
