I have stayed at Hotel Enza on several occasions. It is clean, reasonably priced and conveniently located. On weekends there can be some street noise, but it's usually not too bad. The only thing different from their website this visit was that breakfast was not available due to a staff member's illness. There is no elevator, so may not be appropriate if you cannot manage steps or luggage.

Toilet was clean; If they also provide kettle that would be good as it's a simple thing; Reception on the second floor which have to carry all luggages up, not good with heavy bags. Receptionist was friendly and nice.

Probably our favorite hotel we've been to in Italy. The people at the front desk were really friendly and helpful, and we got free internet access, which was nice since internet had been difficult to find in the other cities we'd been to. Breakfast is expensive so we didn't bother, but they'll make you a pretty good cappuccino for 1 euro and there's a supermarket right down the street where you can buy pastries. The rooms can get a little noisy during the day with doors shutting and people moving around, but it's on a quiet street and I had no trouble sleeping at night. Also, the AC unit is awesome.

We had to deal the room once we arrived at the hotel, as it was specified on the website that we would have a room with a bathroom INSIDE that said room and the receptionist was not able to get this information anywhere. We finally got the room but we had to get into an argument to get it. On another hand, we had the best service ever when we were trying to get a reservation in another city. The employee was very helpful and offered a great customer service.

Rooms were quite small, but I didn't need much more space. Used room as a place to sleep and that's exactly what it provided. Very clean and good for single traveler. Staff was very nice and helped with any questions I had. Location was just a few minute walk from any nearby businesses.

Excellent value for money - I was using Florence as a base for a cycling holiday and the location was perfect, being near the hire shop and readily accessible to roads out of town. Clean and quiet, though the decor did betray a season's use; I'm sure the winter will sort that out. Staff were always friendly and welcoming. I will certainly use the hotel again.

The room was situated right beside reception with vurtually no soundproofing. The window was facing a inner backyard and locked. In fact not satisfactory when it comes to fire safety. In addition, I experienced the hotels disability to deliver hot water in the morning. Some questions to staff made me to conclude that the sanitary facilities not at all were suited to the requirements of this hotel.

Good location, close to railway station (although not just 300m as stated, but at least 600m) and a short walk away from Duomo. My external private bathroom looked newer than shabby room, but the hot water pressure at the shower was very weak and I had an occasional problem with the toilet flush. I also missed rail/hooks for my clothes. I believe that towels were not changed during my five day stay. The room was dark (not bright as on photos) and cold. The bed had very uncomfortable and wobbling mattress. One evening upon return I found my room unlocked. Free Internet access is actually just one computer almost always already occupied by other guests. Front desk staff kind but reserved.

This is a good hotel for budget travellers. Hotel is well run with very helpful staff. Hotel is 50m from a huge market that is open 6 days a week. Accom is very clean and rooms in good condition. Free access to the internest was great for keeping in touch. Walk up the stairs with suitcases was only blemish on otherwise great accom. Note it is located in a street with a non sequential numbering system (at times) so just keep walking.

Excellent location very near train and Duamo and huge S. Lorenzo markets. Compass and map are required in this city due to narrow curving streets constantly changing directions. No breakfast area/breakfast extra. Very useful free Internet station (one). Friendly english speaking staff. Street and front desk noise a bit loud thru windows and door (typical of most smaller hotels). Ask for room away from both and shared toilet. No elevator - up a long flight of stairs from street. From train, take 1st left at tourist stands (busy street not marked!), then right at park middle street, then left and hotel on left. Best city view from Piazza s. Michaelangelo above city (bus #12? near McDonalds at train) Buy ticket at Tobacco shop and validate when boarding. Nice downhill walk back from there. Book museums prior day to avoid lines. Gelato is wonderful.

If you realy wont to pay 80 euro for absolutely nothyng than you are in "Enza" on the right place. the room was ok, but for this price you can realy expect nice view and a schower cabine that dosent have holes in the doors the only think that was realy good was the welcoming of the nice lady in the reception. we were also in other hotels in Florence that were cheaper and much better.

With 11 degrees and a freezing wind outside we could have wanted a better heating system than an a/c blowing out warm air. Extra blankets helped a bit, but still we were cold. But anyway, I love Hotel Enza, have stayed there 5 times, and would come back anytime.I have recommended the hotel to collegues and friends. Everybody has been very pleased with the stay.

This hotel really suited our budget and needs. My only concern was the state of the bathroom which was generally clean with two exceptions: 1) mould on the shower tiles (which could be wiped off and wasn't) and 2) a faint smell of urine when you first entered, indicating the need for some deep cleaning. Don't get me wrong, the overall look of the bathroom was quite fine and the room itself was clean and comfortable. Staff were considerate and helpful. And the supplementary breakfast was good value.

Lo unico bueno del hotel es la situación y la amabilidad de los empleados. Lo demás deja mucho que desear. El baño de la habitación era muy pequeño y la limpieza dejaba mucho que desear. This hotel was a great value. . Despite our room being different from the one pictured on venere,we still got a nice room. Only drawback was it didn't have its own bathroom. The service was good and welcoming the location was excellent. (that isn't saying to much because of Florence's small size just about any hotel you stay at will be a good location.) There was 24 hr computer access in the lobby and eventhough the bathroom was down the hall there really wasn't any problems. When we wanted to use the bathroom or cleanup it was available. Breakfast was also included but we never took advantage of it because we slept in to late. If you do take advantage of the breakfast keep in mind you have to order it the night before. Great hotel we would recommend to anyone.

Florence in general is smelly with dog poops everywhere, but I can't open the window in my room because of the strong sewer smell. My room is a single room, and my bed is as wide as the width of my pillow. I am a small guy so it is fine, but I don't think it would work if you have a heavy set or tend to move around a lot in bed. I don't think they mention but they have a computer with internet connection that you can use for free in the lobby. That is nice. You can leave your luggage there and pick up later. The front desk staff are helpful but could be a little bit friendlier.

If you are looking for an economical simple place with a comfortable bed because you are going to be out all day exploring Florence, then Enza would be ok. Excellent value & service; close to train station & easy to find; carpet was old but the room was one of the largest & nicest I've seen in comparable hotels; I chose a room w/o WC and the shared WC was the largest I've seen in Europe (there is also a 2nd smaller WC). Excellent hotel. Two remarks : on the website it said the hotel is located at 300 meters from the railway station. This is absolutely not true: it's about a 15 minute walk!! The staff was very friendly, only the person that checked me in (I arrived around midnight) was very slow to actually arrive at the desk - I had to wait for two minutes after I rang the bell before he showed up - and was not too friendly. The people that work the morning and afternoon shifts, were extremely nice and helpfull.

It met the standard expected. For the low price is it ok to stay for a short journey, 2-3 days. As an accomodation to feel comfortable for a weeks holiday or longer it is not to recommend. The bathroom is not within the room, but next to it. It is not luxury and seems a bit ancient, but it seemed to be clean.

The best hotel I stayed during my trip to Italy this time.10 minutes to Duomo by walk and same time to train station.Plus the hotel is full of the sense of art. A really nice hotel. You will enjoy staying in it.

Everything was nice, with two exceptions: i saw some apparently dangerous people at night around the hotel. Nobody bothered me however. Apart from that, they charged me a 5€ plus for the breakfast (which I didn't want and didn't have, 9 in the morning was too early).

The saty at Hotel Enza was disappointing to say the least. We travelled all over Italy over a period of 11 days, had a great time, but the stay in Florence was marred by Hotel Enza. The temperatures were running at 40 degrees C and inspite of specifically booking for a room with Air conditioning, the AC in the room wouldn't work. When we requested that the AC be checked out, the receptionist came up and said in a dismissive way that there wasn's a lot he could do! He would not let us move to a room where the AC worked; we asked for a table fan which was promised but did not arrive for over 2 hours; we had to go down to the reception and ask again before the fan came up. The next day, the rude receptionist insisted on charging us the full AC charge and when we asked to speak to the manager to clarify the issue, he claimed he was the manager and started wragling his hands in the air and was really rude. The room was on the top floor (2nd floor) with steep steps and no lifts. There was no help available with the luggage either. The shower just about worked and the room was just about OK. My most sincere suggestion would be 'Save Your Money and Go Else-where'. We had excellent rooms in Rome and Venice which are ususlly more touristy and busy.

Enza is in a central location and only 10 minutes or so walk from the Duomo and Uffizzi. Staff were very welcoming and efficient and spoke English. Single rooms were small and not a/c; double room was a/c but had a TINY bathroom. Enza is on 1st and 2nd floor with quite steep stairs so not good for the infirm. We drove to Florence - finding the hotel was difficult because of the maze of backstreet but there was a guarded garage just down the road where we could leave the car. I would use Enza again when staying in Florence.

Enza is very easy to find from Firenze Santa Maria Novella Railway Station if you have a map. The walk is merely 5-10 mintues so you don't have to drag your bags for too long. The area is safe and within walking distance from major tourist attractions. If you are looking for a budget stay with basic amenities, this is a place for you. Shared bath felt a bit inconvenient but the toilets were clean (one was too small though) and not too difficult to access any time of the day. They have free internet which is a great facility.

Located about 10 to 15 minutes from center by foot. And NOT a ten minute walk from train station with luggage. It was overall a pretty good place to stay for someone on a budget in Florence. Knew that there we would be sharing a bathroom but found it a little hard to deal with. Also be prepared for the climb up to your room with your luggage.

The hotel was close to transportation and all major sights. The staff helpful and friendly. They had no problem setting up taxi pickup for 3AM. The main bed was a little cramped under the stair casing.

À part un soir où l'employé de service refusait le chien (alors que les animaux de compagnie étaient indiqués être bienvenus), nous avons eu un accueil agréable... malgré des problèmes de porte !

Very nice rooms at a low price. We had a private bathroom, but it was not connected to our room. That was ok because our room had a sink and bidet, which was perfect for pissing in.

The room was clean and spacious. It was a little noisy at night because our room was located on the street. The two shared bathrooms were well kept. Great location, free internet, nice staff!

This was an excellent hotel, considering the price. The staff was friendly and helpful (and mostly English-speaking). The shared bathroom was very clean and even spacious. Free internet access in the lobby was certainly convenient. Some complaints: I couldn't get help from the front desk attendant one evening when trying to get an outside line to make a call, and couldn't see out the window of the room at all (I assume the bars, etc. were ... for security reasons? Although the area didn't seem unduly rough to me). All said, I would stay here again.
