The location is perfect - a few meters away from the SMN train station and practically in the center of Florence. The price was cheap for a city center, the rooms were spacious and clean, staff were very helpful and understanding especially when our 10 year old got sick. The only problems were the lift which was hardly ever working, the coffee machine (which is what provides hot drinks for breakfast) that broke down one morning, and the fact that the bathrooms are only cleaned every other day. So on the second days we ended up with dirty towels. Overall I consider this hotel as a very good value for money and perfect location for those who want to explore the city of art.

Very close to SMN station, very clean, nice hotel. It is on the second floor of an old, big, beautiful apertment building. The breakfast is not included the price, but you can't find better breakfast for 3 euros anywhere. If I go to Florence again, I'll absolutely want to stay here again.

This is a low cost hotel but we were dissapointed with the noise from the road and the general level of service -- the dirty plastic glasses were left dirty and we had to ask for a toilet roll! The hotel is part of a building used for apartments and another hotel. The reception was very helpful and freindly

Clean and cheap hotel near the railway station. If you only return to your room to sleep after a long day in Florence, than it is a hotel for you. Rooms are warm and cosy. Internet is absent and for breakfast you can only get snaks and coffee - don't waste your time and go to nearby cafe. Personal is quite welcoming and speaks English.

This place would be exceptionally great for budget if there had not been for noise around the building. The hotel is located right above Lazzi bus station. I couldn't get asleep until late night, and woke up early due to bus coming and leaving.

The Hotel Duca d'Aosta is a fantastic hotel for the price you pay, staff very welcoming and helpful and added to the experience of visiting Florence (we stayed for 5 days). I will definately recommend this hotel to anyone who is on a budget, you will be pleasantly surprised. I am going to book the Hotel for my visit to Florence next year and encourage everyone else to do so. It was brilliant.

The location near the train station is ideal. The staff was very helpful. Breakfast simple but adequate. Room spacious and clean. Stepping up into the the bathroom tricky at night. Definitely would recommend to those wanting a clean room travelling on a budget.

This hotel is more like an hostel. It occupies a portion of an old building. Once enter the building main entrance, walk up staircase to reach the reception at the 2nd floor. The furniture is in the room is very old althiough clean. Location is very close to main train station and it is within walking distant to most Florence's attraction.

The hotel is located on the street behind the block opposite the east exit (the left wing once you got off the train) of the railway station. Don't expect for a grand hotel with a ground entrance, it is located on the 2nd floor of the building like a service apartment, but the gate downstairs stays unlocked until 12am, turn to the right side once you enter the building, then take an antique style elevator to the 2nd floor, ur hotel is just on your right side. The room was clean and quiet, if not the air conditioning got some funny "dic dac" sound, I would have rated a 10 for quietness. The bus to the airport was just next (left) to the East exit of the railway station (Sita bus)cost was $4.50/person, you just need to pay when get on the bus, it takes normally about 25min from the train station to the airport, it runs every 30min. The location of the hotel was excellent since all the tourist points are just very close to the hotel or the bus stops are just in the vicinity of the railway station which is just behind the block of the hotel. Breakfast was good for the price we pay for the room ($70 average/night). You have the choice of juice and coffee - cuppucino, latte, espresso, chocolate milk, or you mix for your mocha, refill as you like. Like to recommend a restaurant which I found great for food quality and environment for a reasonably price tag (e.g. $18 for a 500g bistecca del flourntine, only $1.50 cover charge/ person, $10 for a litre of vino rosso). The name is Trattoria da Garibardi, at Piazza dei Mercato Centrale, 38r./ Borgo La Noce Tel 055212267 www.garibardi.it Preferably sit out in the patio. We tried to taste for different restaurant while in Flourence but the one closer to the hotel and railway station (...since 1947) was not as nice an environment the steak costed at least 30% more but overcooked too much, and they charged $2.50/person cover charge. If you stay in this hotel, the shopping area, the duomo, the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio are just within

Our choice was very good. This hotel is situated at the best part of florence because it is next to the train station and only 10-15 min walk from the centre of the town. The price was excellent and the staff very kind, polite and helpful. All of them could speak english. The breakfast was not so big but it didn't matter for us. All the rest was perfect.

Perfecto para visitar la ciudad. A un paso de la estación de trenes y autobuses. 5 minutos andando de San Lorezo, del mercado, del Duomo. Excelente trato del personal que nos ayudo a resolver un problema que tuvimos con el coche. Buen desayuno. Para repetir.

I had investigated a room quote online and was told a different, higher price when we went to check it out in person. So I reserved online with my credit card and got the lower rate. There were some really nice and friendly staff, and the breakfast is included, which was a great plus. It included juice, croissants, one type of very generic cereal, and a choice of coffees, cappucino, hot chocolate, etc. from a modern machine. The mochaccino was great! We were required to pay cash on checkout, though other guests with European credit cards were allowed to pay with them. The room was sufficient, though a bit cramped when 3 twin beds (we'd asked for a triple) were put in it. The bathroom was very clean and had been modernized, and had both shower curtain and a bidet, the latter of which was not included in our room in Rome later on. The room also had a mini fridge. You will want to bring your own toiletries for these cheaper hotels, as the soap and shampoo are the most basic. Also an alarm and any music system as they don't have radio/alarms. Overall, this hotel was a very good deal and quite convenient to the trainstation.
