Pros - very close, across the street from train station you don't need a taxi. You see small shops as you walk towards Duomo. Not too far from the daily leather street market and a building that contains an inside food market that is right in the middle of the leather market. Cons - as usual area isnt that great when you are close to train station. We didn't have that much luck with dining and streets can get a bit deserted as the evening goes on so be careful where you end up. Clothes shopping pricery places are a good distance away. It's a room,no view or special services, and breakfast costs extra

We enjoyed our holiday at the Diplomat hotel. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast which was served in a lovely area of the hotel was outstanding. This hotel is in a good position close to the railway station and an easy walk to the main attractions.

Just across the street from train station. They had a problem with an entire floor so we're relocated in a nearby hotel. We selected this hotel because of location and modern decoration. We got to stay at an oldfashion style hotel....

My husband had to take cold showers several times during our stay. Room 164 Girl is main lobby said there was nothing she could do to remedy the problem. Male staff at registration helpful and competent.

It was very close to the train station which was a big plus for us. The room had a strong smokers odor. The hotel was a fairly long walk to the Duomo and the river, but many things to see along the way. The hotel personnel were helpful.

The terrace outside our room was not clean. There was broken glass that was never removed during our 3 night stay. Mosquitoes invaded us every night. However it is a good location if you want proximity to the train station.

The very bad part of our brief stay was that our room was directly beneath the dining area, and at 6 AM the staff people made a lot of noise preparing for breakfast. We would stay again except on that same floor.

Only some of the reception staff were competent enough to assist in English. The room had more than enough space for our family and suitcases without falling over anything. Very well located across from the station and many retaurants close by. The directions from the internet are a bit confusing. Ideal location to travel to Pisa and surrounds, within walking distance of the Duomo and shopping streets of Florence.

The location of this hotel is wonderful! You walk out of the train station and literally see it across the street. The walk to the Duomo and most other main attractions in Florence was not bad either. I was sick one morning and was able to be comfortable in the room while trying to get better. Overall good breakfast too!

Location is very near to railway station. Room was very spacious. Easy access around Florence and even to go to Pisa. Rates are on bit higher side but really worth if staying for couple of days.

It is very nice hotel just few meters from the main train station which make your travelling to any place in Italy or even Europe very easy, this is the most great advantage of this hotel. The front office staff was very kind and friendly.

No complaints and only have quiet and complete satisfaction in every aspects, price, location, service, efficiency and facilities. As travellers, everything was comfortable. Could not ask for more. If i come this way again, will surely try to book the B&H Ambassador Hotel and recommend the hotel to others. However, I guess I have got a good price for the room with substantial discount.

The hotel room was beatiful, very modern, and they had a neat eco-friendly system that will turn off the lights when you leave the room. Room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The lady at the reception was a little weird, helpful but with a long face... Breakfast was great! Very well located!

This location is so close to the train station and yet it doesn't sound like it, even in the rooms that face the main street! Wonderful breakfast buffet selection and lovely panoramic view of Florence! Very spacious rooms and bathrooms - even a jacuzzi tub in our double room! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel or return there on my next trip to Firenze!

I went to Florence for visiting this wonderful city.Diplomat hotel is few meters from train station,an excellent location for those travelling by train as me.Close to main tourism places. There is a very good trattoria 30 meters from it where I had eaten the best italian food! Streets around Diplomat were being repaired but even at night it was safe. Think prices should be cheaper. It is not a 4 stars hotel just a 3 * european hotel.Breakfast ok.

The hotel is located at a convenient spot, that is, right next to the railway station. For travellers arriving by train in the evenings and having a limited time in Firenze, this is a brilliant hotel to stay in as it is within walking distance to major attractions like Uffizi and Academie museums.

The hotel is in very close proximity to the Train Station and it made our stay very convenient. Since the city is pretty small, the city centre and all the attractions of the city are just about 15 min walk from the hotel. The hotel is clean and sufficient for small stays upto 3-4 nights. The breakfast is very good with a lot of variety and is on the 5th floor which gives a nice view of the city through the windows.

We arrived and were upgraded to Wardour suite which was the modern wing of the hotel and very stylish and nice. Great location, just beside the train station although a little noisy early morning since the window is not sound proofed. Great deal for money.

Very nice property but construction in front a major drawback. Inside the staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Room was a bit small and some aging of carpet evident. Television only had a few local channels and no international ones. Internet signal was very weak in room making work slow and difficult. Brakfast was very nice. Overall it was overpriced, even for Florence.

Al llegar el hotel estaba completo y nos enviaron al "city", por lo que salimos ganando con el cambio el hotel estaba completamente reformado y es una maravilla, el desayuno muy bien y muy bien ubicado, enfrente de la estación de trenes.

The Hotel was exactly as described. The reviews I read on line were accurate. The breakfast was very good. The front desk/reception were knowledgable, courteous and efficient. It was an easy walk to the Duomo, well located except for the crowds of people immediately outside of the hotel who were waiting for buses. If you arrive by train it is a short walk accross the street. Audrey Vitulli USA

The location is very good if traveling by train, but I was looking for a hotel with internet in the room, which supposed to be there. We arrived and at first found out that for using wireless we have to bay a card for 5EUR, I asked if we can use this password on two laptops at ones, the guy says "yes, sure!" We went to our room and found out that there in no wireless in our room. Went for help to the reception, where we were told, tat everything is OK and in order, it's you pc's fault. Ok, I've tried like a crazy for many hours to get to the internet, nothing! The lady in the reception table was chewing the gum and being VERY ignorant! Next evening I went for help again and the same lady said that, I don't know, It's only you who is complaining, everything is working. At the same time two men came and told that they also cannot use this card in their room. The lady called someone and FINALLY found out that this card could be used only in hotel's breakfast room, where were no plug-ins! And when I logged into the internet, a friend on mine could not use this card anymore, it could be used only on one pc at time and we needed the internet both! We were very disturbed and did not felt to be welcomed. The lady was very impolite and ignorant. I will not stay in this hotel again, because I was very disappointed! It was not even close to a 4 star hotel!

The hotel is right next to the main train station and as we reaching Florence by train from Rome, it was most convenient. It is centrally located and you can walk to all the major sites like Duomo and Uffizi. We had a great time as you could eat out at any of those steet side restaurants at night and then just walk back. The hotel itself is pleasingly modern and clean. The staff was helpful. The only letdown was the breakfast.Anyway, we would definately be staying here next time in Florence.

The only downside to this hotel is that it is right next to the train station. However, being so close to the station made it easy for us to move our bags around. The rooms were great and surprisingly spacious. The staff was great. Good quality for the price.

This was supposed to be a 4 star hotel, it was not. After arriving at the Diplomat hotel we were directed next door to their sister property. We were told we could check in at 2 pm, at 2:45 we were given the key to our room. Neither the TV nor the air-conditioning worked in the 1st room. Another 15 minutes we were in our 2nd room which was acceptable but still not a 4 star hotel. I realize the standards are not the same as in the US.

Good location for train station and city in general. Some building work going on but no real problem. given upgrade to what I suspect is the first phase of modernisation. long trek to breakfast aream past workmen. Balcony overlooking bus station however got the evening sun full on which was good to unwind with a beer. Reception staff very courteous and helpful for example with train times.

Although our reservation was for B&H Diplomat, we were put to B&H Residence, about 50 meters away, but the second hotel was brand new, with modern rooms and large bathrooms. The view wasn't so great (looking at the bus station) and for having breakfast we had to go to the 4th floor, walk all the corridor to get the elevator to the 1st floor of another B&H hotel. But the breakfast was very rich. Our stay at the B&H Residence hotel was very pleasant and its location near the train and bus stations was convenient. If we visit Florence anothet time we will prefer this hotel for sure.

This was a great price for a 4 star. Right across the street from the train station - the location was extremely convenient. Florence is small so we were able to walk to all the sites (Arno River, Uffizi, Duomo, etc.). The Church of Santa Maria Novella, McDonalds (yes they have McDonalds and a McD Cafe too!) and the Tourist Information office are all within a 5 minute walk. The breakfast was really good compared to what we got at other hotels. The bathroom was really nice and clean. There were steel shutters on the outside of our window - not sure if that was for security purposes or to keep the light out when we wanted to. The reception on the Television was poor.

The location right across from the train station was perfect. It was only a short walk to major attractions. Apparently, the hotel also owns the hotel next door and our room assignment was there, which is adjoined by hallways, so it worked out just fine. The breakfast room is spacious and served good food and plenty of it. Overall, the hotel worked out just fine and I would surely return, especially because of its convenience.

Unfortunately the heating system in our room was broken and the heat blasted the whole time we were there. The room faced the street and train station so opening the window was not an option. Other than that, we had a good visit and will stay there again. Good value for the money - great breakfast!

It is a good hotel. I wouldn't rate it as a 4 stars hotel, I think it's mostly 3 starts, but it is nice really, comfortable rooms, good breakfast and the main thing: it is right in front of the train station, and it is very close to Florence's downtown.

This is not a comment for Hotel Diplomat but for Hotel Ambascatori next to the Diplomat actually we stayed. I assume Diplomat is excellent too since they are belonging same hotel chain. But if they had informed us we should have stayed Ambascatori in advance,we were not confused at all.
