Great location, close to train station. Easy to walk around city to see sights. Very happy with accomodations. Single woman.

Overall, I felt safe and slept well and the location was just what I needed. REceptionist was welcoming and helpful. However,Website photos present an optimistic view of the Derby. My single room was very small, bad paint job somewhat dreary first impression. Bathroom was clean. The rooftop garden offered a pleasant view and housed discarded furniture .Breakfast was poor-same cake and cold cereal offered both days. Coffee from machine--nice dishes and flatware. The Derby is on the fifth floor and there is a lift. It is adequate economical lodging.

Good conditions for good price. Much much better and much more recommanded than hostels in this area as well.

The room was clean and en-suite which was great. However, the plus' ended there. This was the noisiest room ever. It was not due to road traffic noise or street noise, my room faced the internal court yard, rather, there was a restaurant or pub which was four floors down but sounded like it was next door, very very loud patrons talking, shouting etc until 3am, then the restaurant closed and began "cleaning" everything in the same courtyard, washing items with what sounded like a fire hose, dishes clanging whistling and singing as well as deliveries and other noise. To top it off, construction then began across the way right at 7am. This went on for all three days I was there. While the hotel is good value for what you get, and close to the train station and not too far from the sites, the noise was horrible and no sleep for days really does impact your appreciation of Florence. Also, I must say that they had the worse breakfast ever in all my years of travel. I have never had to spit out bread as soon as it went into my mouth before, it was that bad.Sorry, can't recommend.

We spent 2 night there. In first room was bedbugs. Staff was not surprised when heard about it and gave us another room without bedbugs. But in it air-condition not worked good. Credit card NOT accepted. Good location, not bad price, but bedbugs it's terrible and big problem.

hôtel : environnement bruyant, pas de double vitrage.Nous étions du côté de la route. On avait l'impression qu'il y avait aucune différence entre fênêtre ouverte ou fermée ! stores à moitié cassés, doubles rideaux tous décrochés. Chambres spacieuses.

Very good for staying one night or for a cheap holiday. Very low cost and in the city centre near to the main train station. The bathrooms are very small, the bed totally unconfortable and old, the building is a bit ugly and the breakfast is terrible. (I suggest you to pay attention because you can hear what's happening in the other rooms...:) But the people is very kind and friendly. Only for easy-going people.

it's very bad idea to stay at this hotel. the staff is very rude and cruel, rooms are very ugly and they look like the rooms from silent hill and resident evil combining together and also there're funghi everywhere in the rooms and bathrooms. the truth is there's nothing like it's supposed to be in the picture at all!! So, we decided not to stay even just one night and moved out by deciding to pay the one night penalty. But the staff tried to cheat us by threatening us to pay for 4 nights stay then he would let us leave or else he would call the police. But in the end, after we showed him the cancellation policy, he then just let us leave. So staying here is just suiciding yourself. SO DO NOT EVEN THINK TO GO!!!

Entrance to the hotel pretty 'hidden' among other businesses, I nearly misseed it. The bathroom was always very clean. In one of the rooms, the drain from the bathroom was broken and water was seeping from under the door into the room. Overall cleanliness was not what I was hoping for, especially the curtains; could be because the furniture was old. However, the mattress was very comfortable and the bed sheets and towels were an impeccable white.

We were two girls visiting Firenze for a few days and with a limited budget for accomodation. We thought that this hotel won't be extrordinary, but in the end : what a good surprise ! Clean, perfect location, very nice landlords.. They even gave us a private bathroom with no supplement "as a gift she said"! A really nice stay !

I was accomodated in the annex, which was lovely, in fact better than the hotel. The breakfast was your usual ecomonmy hotel type, warm coffee and dry rolls. not that I was too fussed about that. The room was large with good air con and clean shower. Location, the station is nearby and all the sights are walking distance

Very warm and helpful personnel. Quite good breakfast. Refurbished bathrooms, very clean. Quiet (unless other guests are not). Free-internet (30', but it is useful) for guests. Having an elevator (even very small) is very important, taking in account the hotel is from the 3rd to 5th floor. Centric place. Good price-quality ratio. I recommend it!

Hotel was very central to all attractions however the room was not very clean especially the furniture from the inside. Linen and towels on the other hand were spotless and as white as snow. Would only recommend for a short stay.

the hotel is aglier than I thought watching the photos, but it is very quiet and well situated. The price was ok according to the quality. But the personal don´t aid us to look for any information. There was an interet point very expensive, and the breakfast was 5 points: acceptable. The worst was seeing the room, with 2 beds not very comfortable, but the rest was very well and economic.

1st. time.......bad start as we were put into a completely different building! The room was on the ground floor, with airco units DIRECTLY outside our window! We complained & requested another room but were told that there were none. However, the next day when speaking with Roberto (Manager/owner?) our room was immediately changed with much apology & when we moved in there was a bottle of wine waiting for us! There is a super roof garden. The location is great for visiting the major sites. Also very easy to find from where the Terravision bus drops you at the train station. All in all, a satisfactory experience.

Hotel poco recomendable.

VENTAJAS: ES MUY CENTRAL, TIENE ASCENSOR (7ª PLATA). ARRIBA HAY VISTAS BONITAS Y EL DESAYUNO INCLUIDO ERA OK. EN GENERAL ELPRECIO 50 € + PARKING 25 = DEMASIADO CARO.

My partner and I enjoyed a great few days staying at the Derby hotel in Florence The hotel was in a great location, away from the bustle of the centre of town but close enough to walk to all of the major sites. The staff were attentive to all our needs, giving really good advice on places to visit, restaraunts and bars as well as details on excursions out of florence. Not only were the staff very capable of providing a quality service but were very friendly and always had the time to chat to their guests either at reception or at breakfast Overall the service at the Derby was excellent

A typical one-stay-only hotel, the room was very small and you could hear a whispering from the next room. This togehter with the high price for the room makes it hard for me to recommend the hotel to others. The staff was however nice and the location is central.

We were booked in to the Derby for a long stay, lured by the photo of the roof terrace and modern decor. The roof terrace is an accurate picture. The rooms could be in the Derby, but close up they are shabby and poorly decorated. We were put in room 9 with a view of the Duomo, and the street, next to the lift mechanism. The windows were single glazed with a broken catch. We could not sleep for the noise. The staff refused to move us until the next day. For the inclusive breakfast they provided the worst coffee in Italy and a variety of cheap croissants, rolls, cheese and ham. We soon went out to the local cafes. Room 5 was much quieter, overlooking the internal court yard. We were happier for a couple of days, coping with the bizarre dangerously stepped bathroom, until we realised whenever we had a shower the water was leaking out under all these steps, dribbling down into the bedroom. It began to smell. At this point we found a far nicer and cheaper place round the corner. The only way I can see that the Derby has 2 stars is that it provides breakfast and you have a TV in your room.

Althrough I booked a room with bathroom inside of the room. My room did not have any private bathroom. And I had to use external bathroom with key, as hotel man told me this is my own bath room.
