Hotel Reviews Della Signoria

Della Signoria is an extremely nice hotel, ideal location, extremely nice and very welcoming staff, and very comfortable rooms. We loved our stay immensely and when we will visit Florence again we will most definitely be staying here again!

Breakfast could have included some fresh fruit, sausage or eggs - but anyway - as we are familiar with Italien breakfast - it was quite good. Rooms should be renovated in the near future - but they were clean and funcional. Location was optimal.

Excellent location. Would benefit greatly from redecoration to make the hotel more modern. We stayed in a triple room, but one of the beds was actually a sofa, may be wise to make this clear on the website, as we were expecting three beds so were slightly disappointed. Bathroom was clean, but the toilet was positioned behind the sink which was a bit strange.

Great value for the location, just steps away from the Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo. Breakfast was served cheerily by the kitchen staff. 10 minute walk from SMN train station. I'd stay here again and again.

The location is superb, and the quality service provided the staff here far surpass your average Italian 3 and 4 star hotels. My wife and I visit Italy once every 1-2 years, and have stayed in many hotels of varying standards, and this is clearly one of the better ones because of the good natured staff, expecially Fabrizio who was an excellent hotel employee. I highly commend this to anyone who wants good service and an excellent location - if you do not mind the noise at night of course (a good location means you are at the heart of the action) - this hotel is about 20 steps from the arno river and on the main street between the Ponte Vecchio and the Duomo, and really next to the Royal Palace.

Not a very good hotel, specially if you have a car because the parking is very expensive. The price is not fare for what the hotel offers. The hotel doesn't offer internet connection at all, and it could use a nice renovation.

Had a very quick trip to Florence for a long weekend. The location of della Signoria was perfect. The staff was lovely and helpful. My travel friend and I enjoyed sitting outside for breakfast and watching the street life which included a foot race on Sunday morning and a wedding party in a horse carriage also on Sunday morning. The room was clean, easily accommodated 2 friends traveling together w/ not much baggage. One note, but I find this true in all major cities, the street side rooms can be a bit noisey so I always travel w/ eye plugs. I thought this was a good value for the location, which was excellent. Would recommended the Florence walking tours by the following company if you only have a short time in the city. We did the Florence in a Day tour which is 3 walking tours in a day. Great fun. www.italy.artviva.com

Hotel was just what we wanted. Hotel employees were very helpfull. The only negative was that the air conditioning units stopped working for the last day.

Very central location, close to Duomo, Signoria, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchia etc. Excellent staff including breakfast room ladies. Room a little bit small but with nice & clean beds.

very well located in Florence City center... 50 meters from Ponte Vecchio... But also very difficult to find by car ! Good service and welcome from the Lobby. Take care to have room at the upper side (to avoid noise from the street). Hotel a little bit old ... but it seems to be normal for Italian Hotel specially in Touristic place.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Our balcony had a view of the Ponte Vecchio. The staff were very helpful and professional. It was a bit noisy at night and the a/c was not working very well, but all told we would stay there again.

This hotel had a charming breakfast terrace, and was in a fantastic location close to everything. The hotel staff was charming, but had challenges assisting with reservations for the museums. In the end, all worked out, but it seemed way more complicated than it needed to be, given that they must do this sort of thing all the time. My room, and the bathroom, were so small that I barely had the space for my one bag and my toiletries. The continental breakfast was good, and the general demeanor of the hotel staff was very pleasant.

Excellent location, couldn't be better. The rooms are charming and the staff is very attentive - they try very hard to make your stay enjoyable. Easy to find with a taxi, but if driving, call first for directions (there are a lot of one-way streets, and some of the streets are closed because they are being worked on).

What more could we have asked than for a clean, spacious room, great location to walk everywhere we wanted to go, and a friendly, helpful courteous staff to complete a delightful stay in Firenze? Thanks for an easy, efficient, effective reservation system as well. :)

Della Signora is on the foot of the Ponte Vecchio so its location is fantastic. The downside of this is that the noise levels are quite high due to the massess of people below (not to mention the cleanining trucks). The staff were extremely helpful and overall we would recommend it for its position. The hotel was a fairly expensive for what it offered but this is to be expected when staying in a large city like Florence. We would probably book into this hotel again although we would look around to see what other options were available around the same price.

The location is excellent. It is located near Ponte Vecchio. The laundry service was convenient for me. Because the hot water was not hot enough for me, I could not take a bath for two days. Overall, I think it is a reasonable good hotel.

Maybe it's just that Florence seems too fossilized, but the hotel was a good representation of it's age. Not cheap, I guess you're paying for location, which is central enough, if not a bit too touristy. Bathroom facilities abysmal.

The thing that made the Hotel Della Signoria special was the quality of the staff. They were so kind and attentive. The desk staff were always willing to answer endless amount of questions. They were very helpful with train schedules, providing directions and always attended to your needs immediately. The manager was so welcoming and exuded much charm. The women who worked in the kitchen were outstanding, being so gracious and accommodating. That also applied to the housekeepers. Finally, the location of Hotel Della Signoria was the best. It was very close to the beautiful Piazza Della Signoria and right down the street from the old Ponte Vecchio Bridge and the Arno River. Also nearby were the exclusive shops on Piazza S. Trinita. All in all, our stay in Florence will be remembered fondly because of the kindness and charm of the Italian people.

My wife and I had a wonderful week there in late May.Our 5th floor room faced Palazzo Vecchio and we could look across Ponte Vecchio to the right.A perfect location.Close to everything! The staff were very courteous, kind and helpful from the front desk to the wonderful lady in the breakfast room.Friendly help with resteraunt reservations and directions, always with smiles, greetings and farewells.I left a pair of shoes by accident and they mailed them back to me,too. If you like staying in the middle of everything, this is the spot!

As far as location there couldn't have been one better. You walk out the door and to the right is Ponte Vecchio, a block away is an internet cafe, to the left is the Uffizi. Wherever we needed to be nothing was further than a ten minute walk away. A warning! The pizza nearby is the worst. It has turned into a tourist trap where Boboli pizza crusts are used. Make sure you go to side streets and ask if the pizza is made with real dough or pre made crusts. The rooms were a bit small but the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was fine. One morning I was too tired to get out of bed and my husband went to the dining room and a waitress graciously made me a tray. The location was the best we have experienced in Florence.
