Staff was very helpful and friendly. Super breakfast! Beautiful place. We had the deluxe rooms - worth the extra amount. Great location for seeing all of Florence. An easy walk from the rail station. Agree with a previous opinion that Internet service @ $15/day is pricy. But all else was GREAT!

Il materasso di letto era un po troppo morbido per noi, giapponese. Il resto tutto andava bene.

Great property with a great location. It was nice to get back to the hotel for happy hour each night. The bartender was really nice and helpful. He made reservations for us at his favorite restaurant. The only negative was we could hear quite a bit of noise outside. It happen to be a warm week for October and the hotel turns the air off. We had the window open a bit because it was too hot to sleep otherwise. We were on the 3rd floor so the noise was pretty noticeable.

As single traveller I got a double room, nice! All in all it was a fine hotel but for me a bit too expensive for that what it was - the internet service (Ethernet) was expensive. It also seemed to be a bit too "fine"/arrogant, even it wasn't in reality.

I had a weekend to spend in Florence between two weeks of work. I was there with 3 other guys in my company. The hotel is located a block from the river, so you always have a good reference to get back home should your nights extend well into the evening hours. You can easily walk to many historical places, restaurants and bars, and that is good because valet parking requires 20 minutes to retrieve your car from the remote lot. I stayed on the 3rd floor. The rooms are standard American size, clean and basically quiet. The temps were in the low 60s outside, so I can't comment on the air conditioning. For English speaking people, I would recommend Ristorante Buca Mario and JJs bar. If you plan to do some wine tasing in the region, plan on 3 hours to get to Monticeto, otherwise you'll miss your lunch reservations. De La Ville is a nice hotel in a good location and I would stay there again, with my family.

L'hotel è all'altezza di quanto promesso. Elegante, accogliente, silenzioso. Ottima la colazione ed il servizio. Situato nel cuore della città, è ad un passo dai principali monumenti e dai migliori negozi. Si trova in una via molto tranquilla (anche di notte).

Despite a confirmed reservation for a quad suite, when I arrived at the property this accomodation was not available. The clerk did not really have an explanation and put my family in 2 junior suites that were not connected. After applying a little pressure they came up with the suite for the second night. The suite, a duplex, was quite spacious and nicely decorated. As it was in the back of the hotel, there was some street noise and the large windows featured opaque glass.

Nice hotel, best situated near all the touristic attractions and shops. Spaceful and tastfully decorated rooms, very nice and big bathroom. Very clean. But take attention, the good rooms are on the upper floors with enough light and space. Downstairs I wouldn't stay one night. I loved this hotel for some days, would take it again for my next visit to Florence.

Dear future travlers, this is a great hotel if you are looking for something in the center of the things you want to see. The staff provided us with great detailed maps and places we shouldn't miss during our stay. We were there for 4 nights. We felt we could have stayed 4 weeks to see it all the staff recomended. We would recomend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence because everything is so close and the rooms are so spacious. The only thing was the rate we were qouted was alot lower than the price at the end. I'm still wondering about that! Thanks for your time Laura VanMeel

Plus points : Excellent location, efficient reception, friendly barman. Negatives : the aircon didn't work (entire 3rd floor was too hot in November!), and it was very noisy with the window open

Hello, we enjoyed a short vacation in De la Ville verry much. The Junior Suite is quite big and the bathroom up-to-date standard. The interrior is done in the classik Italian style an therefore verry nice and charming. The location is verry good, everything you need is within walking distance. In the same steet you will find any of the top Italian & worlds Fashion designers. The staff is verry friendly as well - so I counld not find anything I dislike. AAAA****

The public area on the ground floor was being renovated when we were there, however, it did not interfere with our stay. The room was nice and large. The staff was good and helpful. The concierge was very reliable in recommending good restaurants. We were impressed with the overall quality of services.

The location was very convenient and the hotel was nice, but several things of note. The noise from the pipes were unbelievable. It may have been just the room I got but I kept waking up each time someone used the shower or toilet because of the sound. Only one person at the reception was friendly and helpful. The rest I felt were preoccupied and wanted to get me out of the way. This was the last place in Italy I stayed and it was very disappointing. The reviews I read were all very good so I suppose my expectations were too high? Or it may just have been my luck, but I hope people who are planning to stay there are aware of these possibilites.

This is a wonderful hotel. The people are great and are very helpful. Great location in the center of town with easy access to the sights, restaurants, etc. The "happy hour" was refreshing at the end of the day. They sent us to a couple of very excellent restaurants as well.

The hotel staff were very helpful and spoke very good English, the location was quite superb, the bedroom, although small, had everything you wanted, the bathrooms were clean and spacious. A nice touch was an umbrella in the room for use and a weather forecast provided every day. Overall I would recommend it very highly.

We found Hotel de la Ville to be in a superb location. We were delighted with the price quoted by Venere. There were no surprise charges or fees upon check out. The only negative was the noise factor. With the window shut, noise was not a problem - but then the room became a bit stuffy and hot. If the window was open, there was quite a bit of noise from the streets below. We were there in the winter, but I imagine in the summer, when the hotel would be under air conditioning, this would not be a problem. Overall, we were delighted with our choice of the hotel.

Location is the one of the best for shopping, sightseeing and the visit to Pitti Uomo. The room I stayed was a single, which is small and the price was relatively high. I did not see any problem without this so I expect double or twin is more better for next stay.

THE DE LA VILLE IS A WONDERFUL HOTEL IF YOU VISIT DURING THE COOL MONTHS. IN THE HOT tUSCAN SUMMER WE BOOKED A SUPERIOR DOUBLE AND THE LARGEST SUITE IN THE HOTEL, WHICH WAS INDEED ROOMY ON TWO LEVELS. HOWEVER, ALTHOUGH THE ROOMS ARE ADVERTISED AS AIR CONDITIONED THEY WERE NOT . THE AIR CONDITIONING IN THE SUPERIOR DOUBLE WORKED FEEBLY AND WAS NOT ADJUSTABLE. THE ONE IN THE SUITE WAS JUST PLAIN BROKEN. THEY TRIED TO CONVINCE ME THAT IT WORKED BUT I REFUSED TO ACCEPT IT. AFTER MUCH HEMMING AND HAWING THEY DID MOVE ME TO JUNIOR SUITE AND A DOUBLE FOR AN ADDITIONAL 125 EUROS/ NIGHT. THE DOUBLE HAD THE SAME FEEBLE A/C BUT THE JUNIOR SUITE WAS EXCELLENT WITH ITS OWN SEPARATE A/C UNIT. OTHERWISE THE BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT, THE LOCATION TERRIFIC AND THE FURNISHINGS MODERN. NOT THE CHEAPEST, BUT WORTH IT IF YOU GET ROOM 501.
