Hotel Reviews Cosimo de' Medici

People were all very nice, and the breakfast was rather good compared to the Italian standard. BUT the room was the smallest I have ever slept in : 2,3m x 1,8m + 1 sq.m. for the entrance. You can access your bed from one side only, and don't think about having large luggage. The bathroom is about 1 sq.m., including everything from toilet to shower (basically the bathroom IS the shower, with a shower nozzle on top of everything). And much worse, it was so noisy that it was impossible to sleep from 6:30am: it was like trying to sleep in the middle of the kitchen where they were preparing breakfast. As I was awake, I could enjoy the kitsch decoration of the room, detail I would normally not care about. It is a shame with people obviously trying to do their best to welcome you, but what's the point going to a hotel where you cannot sleep? I have been to Firenze a dozen times, and you have plenty of better options nearby.

Touring Tuscany by train and chose this hotel for it's location near train station. Proved to be very good choice, easy walking distance to major sights, good restaurants, bars, and bus stops. Staff friendly and welcoming, would stay here again, value for money.

One of the best hotels I have visited (price and quality). Very nice hotel and very good location, near San Lorenzo church.

It's been a wonderful stay in Florence. Hotel situated at two steps from railway station and a few minutes walk to the historical city centre. Hotel staff very welcoming and helpful when asking them for advice. Very tidy and clean, both room and facilities. Delicious breakfast with freshly-made espresso coffee served by waitress.

The breakfast was very poor, it let the rest of the excellant service down, if only hot food were provided instead of pre wrapped bread rolls and cakes otherwise a lovely stay.. I will stay again just breakfast elsewhere. The heating was also difficlut to work out with out a manuel otherwise a lovely hotel. Hidden gem

A senior couple travelling independently, we were much impressedby the friendly efficiency of Samantha , Salvatore and Luigi as reception staff. Willing friendly and able, set a model for others. Breakfast was excellent in clean, well-run setting. Directions from handy rail station clear and precise. Good location for good cheap food.

Central location, close to railway station and main tourist area. Rooms of varying quality, ours was very dark with no sunlight, but spacious and quiet.

It was even better than I had anticipated. Staff was very accomodating.

Our room was on the second floor and it was excellent! Very nicely decorated and clean. Although it is on a busy street there was no noise at all. So much more than what we have expected! However, I should say that not all the rooms are alike. The breakfast is nothing special. However, coffee is warm and plenty, what else could we ask for?! I highly reccomend this hotel.

Il parcheggio e' molto esiguo e non comodo per vetture di grandi dimensioni. Il soggiorno comunque e' stato perfetto e tornerei sicuramente, ma con un' auto piu' piccola !!!

I don't understand how a 3 star hotel doesn't have it's own enterance. This hotel is located in 1st floor in a building !!! It supposed to be a pension or something else.... but not a hotel. However, the rooms are fine, but no ventelation and windows open to other rooms toilets or kitchen garbage ! I changed the hotel to 4 star which cost 30 € extra !!!

What a delightful little hotel. We absolutely loved the room which was decorated very tastefully and was immaculate and clean, we loved our (Juliet style!) balcony. The staff was very effecient and the dining area was very nice with quite a substantial continental breakfast, they also make amazing lattes there! There was also the convenience of free internet in the lobby which you could use anytime (we used it to make advance reservations for Uffizi Gallery) and also tea/coffee laid out for you to have anytime. the location of the hotel is very handy with minutes walk to the Duomo, the train station and other major attractions. Highly recommended.

The location of this hotel was indeed very close to the train station which was great for us as we were travelling by train. Found the staff to be friendly, helpful and quite charming to deal with. Especially the one member who translated medical instructions for me on some items we had purchased. The hotel for the price was excellent. Not a fancy 4 star establishment but then we spent all our days out exploring and just wanted someplace comfortable to sleep. Plumbing was operational and adequate for our needs and the room was actually better than we expected. One internet terminal really wasn't adequate for the number of people staying there so I would recommend they add a couple of terminals since everyone travelling needs a place to look up locations and check email. The bonus here is that they didn't charge for internet access which was rare during our trip and highly appreciated. Would definitely recommend this establishment. Just be prepared for the fact that you are close to the train terminal so the neighbourhood isn't all that POSH but it wasn't bad either. It is remarkably close to shopping and main sites so we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see and do. Loved that aspect.

Very charming, cute, well appointed rooms. Not spacious, but efficient. Staff and owner are very welcoming and helpful. Great breakfast. Steps from train station and very close to San Lorenzo, Duomo, etc. Very busy street during the day, not too nice at night (but not unsafe). Great value! I'll go back for sure next time I go to Florence.

Could be a little hard to find but remember it is only about 150m. from railway station. Breakfast was excellent as was the service although the breakfast area was a little cramped.

the room was somewhat claustrophobic, but clean and reasonably quiet. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast really good (esp. for Italian standards), it included yoghurt, fresh fruit, choice of orange and grapefruit to drink, bread and cereals. the location was also convenient - close to the train station and also the sights. I can certainly recommend this hotel.

The LaCascine was more than I expected. The room was big and the bathroom clean. The free internet was a nice surprise. The breakfast was adequate. The staff was helpful and spoke great English. The location was excellent, close to the market and many restaurants. We had an inside room, so we were away from the street noise. We would definitely stay here again. I am receommending to all my firends that Venere.com is an excellent resource for European travel. We have used this website to book in Rome as well and Venere was on the money. The reviews are very hekpful.

Le Cascine is a thoroughly professional establishment, which nonetheless maintains a 'personal touch' and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Rooms, facilities, and breakfast were all excellent, and the staff were always happy to assist and advise. Location is also superb - beside the railway station, and within (very) easy walking distance of the central attractions. Highly recommended! Karyn (Belfast)

Although it was a little noisy because the room had thin walls and noise made outside (at the reception) echoed through to the room I stayed, otherwise the stay at this hotel was pleasant and comfortable. The location was very good, close to the Santa Maria Novella train station and also main attractions such as the Duomo and San Lorenzo. There is a little market street few blocks away, on the way to San Lorenzo and late night Chinese take away shop and beautiful Tuscan diner few doors down from the hotel (on the same street as the hotel). Receptionists were nice and friendly and breakfast was satisfactory (bread rolls, jam/honey, coffee/tea/juices, yogurt and cereals). I would definitely stay here again!

The staff here was wonderful! So helpful and accomodating! When we had issues with our arranged transportation, they allowed us to hang around the hotel until we were all sorted out. This was especially nice since we had already checked out and it was scortching hot outside! I definitely recommend this hotel. The location is great as well!

Had difficulty with initial booking-the hotel told me they I had provided incorrect credit card details which was false as I was using my card without problems-in reality they didn't have the room availiable-this imformation was communicated to late and I arrived at the hotel without a confirmed booking-they were able to get me in to another hotel but refused to allow me to cancel the rest of the booking without charging a fee-the other Hotel too floors up was more confortable and I would have preferred to stay there! I also found the bathroom-wetroom impossible to negotiate-the water keep overflowing out into the room and through my suitcases and there were not enough towells to clean up the mess. The water in the showers was luke warm and overall the bathroom situation was infuriating. The room was too small.
