We recently stayed at the Corona D'Italia for a week which was a perfect amount of time to visit this beautiful city. The hotel was perfect for us-few minutes walk from the railway station, short walk to Duomo and other main attractions, safe location, extremely clean and with friendly helpful staff. There are lots of restaurants around the immediate vicinity of the hotel and many more within a 15 minute walk. The room was quiet (we were on the back of the hotel), well maintained and spotlessly clean and had a safe which was free to use as well as air conditioning. The breakfast was well stocked and served in a clean, cool room again by very friendly staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others. During our stay we visited Pisa and Lucca(a gorgeous little town well worth a visit) by train, easy to use and about 10 Euros each return and also Siena by bus (better and quicker than by train,be sure to get the Corse Rapide from the Sita bus station as this is a direct service). These three places are completely different and within easy reach of Florence.

Way, way overpriced. Decent place but, totally overpriced. Rooms are dated. Sewer smell returns every evening. Should provide free internet service with room. Internet connection is very weak. Asked for a break on internet at checkout- denied.

We were 3 adults, so we were assidgned a handicapped room with an extra bed. These rooms in particular are really big and comfortable, specially the bathdroom wich was very spacious. A down point is the amenities. (Very low quality Gel/Shampoo) But in general we had towers changed everyday and a clean room. The relation cost-benefit is good. I would recomend this hotel.

I stayed for 2 nites in Corona with a couple of my friends, we booked 2 double-bed rooms. The services were wonderful, I got a deep impression at the receiption, who recommanded us a very good restaurant in the last day we left. And the location is very convenient, only few mins walked to main scenepoints or the streets having famous-brand stores.

The room was not inviting nor did it give you a feeling of comfort although it was spacious and clean. The hotel's location was excellent! It's near the train station, excellent restaurants, the market and the wash and dry. The staff although indifferent did book a tour for us which we had requested. The "World Escapes" tuscany bus tour was excellent and I would highly recommend it. It included Siena,San Gimignano, lunch at a winery and a short visit to Pisa.

I would stay here again simply b/c of the location. All the sites we wanted to see were within a 10-20 minute walk. The breakfast was adequate. The parking garage across the street took advantage of us and charged us a huge amount of money. They also drove our car around and used up a half tank of our gas.

Strategic location; it was very nice to be so close to market and of the Borgo St. Laurence. Our room was very quite, overlooking the inner courtyard, Very kind peolple at breakfast room. Nerarby we enjoyed very much the food and atmosphere at the "Palle d'oro". Please, restore the pensilina at the entrance!

Excellent choice! Mid way between the station and the piazza del duomo- perfect. Hotel exception in every way; very clean & tidy, large rooms, polite and friendly staff. You couldn't ask for anything else.

My wife and I had a very comfortable stay at the Corona d'Italia and would recommend it highly. The hotel is about five to ten minutes' walk from the train station and just up the street from the Medici Chapel. The Duomo is only 15 minutes away and the Palazzo Vecchio and Uffizi maybe another five. Our room and bath were quite large and we could hear absolutely no street noise. When we arrived there was a tiny leak in the bath, which was repaired within 30 minutes. The bath was spotless. The staff were thoroughly helpful and attentive and willing to make reservations at museums, provide directions and even to help with lost train tickets. There are a number of fine restaurants and trattorias within a few blocks of the hotel and prices here are much less than they are as you get closer to the center. This was our fourth trip to Florence and I have to confess that I've never had a bad stay. For the price and convenience, however, I am hard pressed to see how you could do better than the Corona d'Italia.

Everything was excellent hotel except hotel front staff. They were not friendly, not welcoming to us. But other employee staff, especially breakfastroom staffs are excelent. If the hotel front staff's attitude could change, it would be perfect.

No temperature control in the room was very much a problem. Because of the time of year, the inroom controls only turned the heat on or off - no way to get just a fan. To open the window meant letting in all the street noises in what at night is a very seedy neighborhood. Also, staff was not very friendly. Breakfast was terrible - cold coffee and stale breads.
