We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Consiglia. Our rooms were spacious and clean. The hotel was located a little far from all the touristic areas, however, the walk was not too bad. The breakfast was plenty and the view of the river from the breakfast room was wonderful. I will definitely go back!

We have had a wonderful stay at this hotel, day staff were very kind and went out of their way in accommodating us and our needs, from arranging a day trip to the Tuscan area to booking tickets for the Uffizi museum. Breakfast was a real treat and again, staff were very friendly. Rooms are lovely and tastefully done, this hotel is in a perfect location!

Everything is very good except you have to go to a coffee shop a hundred meters away for breakfast. Luckyly the coffee shop was closed on Sunday and we got to eat breakfast in the hotel's breakfast room which was beautiful .

Extremely pleasant, good value hotel a short distance away from the busy centre, a block away from the opera house and close to the Ognissanti neighbourhood and the Oltrano. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was spacious, with a brand new bathroom and shower. It was wonderful to be out of the touristic centre, and the drive to the airport was only ten minutes. Would definitely stay here again.

Centrally located lovely setting on the river. (10 min very pleasant walk to central Florence). Renaissance features, pretty building; ceiling of the breakfast room is impressive. Immaculate cleaning. Would have liked to have fruit also present for breakfast. Coffee was excellent. Wifi did not work during our stay; (there was a fault with the lines.)Started working again on the morning we were leaving.

This was my second time to be in Florence and my daughter's first. Our room was spacious and quiet. It was the best night's sleep we had on our entire visit to Italy. The staff recommended a lovely restaurant and wine bar that served us a wonderful late lunch. The Consigli Staff catered to our every need. We will definately come back here when we return to Florence.

The room needed a little bit of modernisation and attention, some drawer handles not secure. No shaver point. No safe for personal valuables The bed was very comfortable and the airconditioning was generally quiet and efficient. The breakfast was reasonable if uninspiring. The staff were very helpful. Altogether a very pleasant stay. I would willingly return to the Consigli

This is a nice hotel. The chief was very friendly and try to help for all our "askes" and wishes. The big room and the bathroom were very clean, and after sightseeing (by feeth) in Florence, it was very nice to came back in a clean and cool room/bathroom.Also the SMN-Gare is nearby. The breakfastroom looks lovely and has a beautiful overlook to the Arno and the other side of the river with a view to the hills. Breakfast is okay, fresh coffee and tea, delicious croissants and from all the others like yoghurt, eggs, serreals etc.more than enough! It is too a silent hotel and the terras on the second floor is a nice place to relax on the evening with lounchecouches and a nice overview.Highly recommanded!!

Everything was ok in a hotel (breakfast, clean room, air condition) with only one thing that was really disturbing - our room was not in a hotel building! There is a small house behind the hotel (loundry in the bottom and private parking besides) with three rooms on the first floor. I had a feeling I was sleeping in a garage...

The hotel is right on the Arno River, next to the US Consulate. It was so pleasant, quiet, and a delightful staff. I made a mistake on dates and they were wonderful helping me get the train schedule, looking at airline flights, calling our next hotel in Milan. It is an easy walk to the trains, and the tourist sites.

A lovely building in a good location, fair standard of rooms (clean, good size), however the room we were initially given was extremely noisy in the mornings (next to reception), the second was a bit better, but it is probably not a hotel for those who enjoy a lie-in! Note also the double bed in both rooms we had was two singles pushed together, which had a tendancy to slide apart in the night!

Very helpful staff.Best location to see all the sites of Florence within walking distance and great views from the hotel of the river and the Ponteveccio Bridge from it's super balcony. Private secure parking at extra cost, but well worth it at 15 euros per day.

This was a lovely hotel with lots of character in a great position next to the river. The breakfast balcony view was just superb. Perhaps the breakfast itself could have been a little more exciting; it was adequate but just needed a little bit more variety. The staff were delightful, the position in regard to accessibility to the centre of the city was good and it was in a good quiet neighbourhood. Overall I loved the hotel and would recommend it to anyone going to Florence. My friend and I had wanted to visit Florence and stayed a night earlier in Lucca which we found even more delightful than Florence. Florence was just too hot, noisy, and in some places grubby. The people [not in the hotel] generally were surly and often rude and had an attitude often found in large touristy cities that of "I'm doing a job I hate and don't have to give anything in return to these tourists". Sorry for the negatives about Florence but our opinions about Hotel Consigli are very positive.

We had stayed here for 4 days, checked out and then went on a short car trip, then returned for one night. During the longer stay we had asked if we could have a pot of hot water with two cups and a little milk. We were told there would be no charge for it. So we requested it each evening. When we returned for the one night we requested the pot of hot water and were given two cups of lukewarm water. We were told we would have to pay for it and that we should pay for the other four days also. Back charging is not a good way of doing business. At check out, the man at the desk said we had coffee for five nights and we would have to pay for it. We told him it was only hot water, but he insisted it must have been coffee. When we refused to pay for it, he relented and we only paid for our one night stay. The staff needs more training in communicating with their guests.

We stayed four days in Room #6 which was located near reception and the lift. The hotel parking area was right outside our windows. It was very noisy. The hotel is in a good location and faces the Arno river. We would not stay here again as it was difficult to sleep with all of the noise.

I stayed at Hotel Consigli in July 2007 and was quite happy to come back. However, our first night in the ground floor room was horrible. You could hear everything in the reception and no one seemed to be concerned with being quite for the guests. The bathroom lacked everything except the sink, toilet and tub. After we murdered a cockroach, we decided to complain. The staff was very apologetic and immediately moved us to another room with a view for no extra cost for the rest of our stay. However, the breakfast was pathetic (vending machine coffee and juice and rock hard pastries). Needless to say we went to the local cafè for breakfast. I understand that the new management of the hotel is going to be doing some remodeling soon, and the place definitely needs it. A beautiful, historic building in an amazing part of Florence should not go to waste like it has. A pity. We lived in Florence for 5 years and have since moved to Rome. In the 3 years that we have made return trips to the city we have found that each time the quality of hotel establishments is falling while prices are rising. A pity.
