The room my friend and I stayed in was spacious and well-appointed with its own sink and a shared full bathroom a few steps down the hall. I loved the decor of Hotel Cestelli, the relaxed conversation of the owners and the little chocolate eggs waiting for us when we arrived in our room! The location is perfect for visiting Florence-- close to everything.

The location was excellent, walkable to everything. Alessio and Asumi speak good English and could not have been more helpful, suggesting non-touristy places to eat including places to get breakfast since none is served there, how to save on a visit to the Accademia, a non-steps route to the train station--anything we asked they had helpful suggestions for. Alessio carried our bags up and down the steps leading to the hotel. The room was nice but gave onto the street and with the window open it was very noisy. I would stay here again, but in warm weather only if I could get a room on the interior.

The place has a very calm and relaxing feel. I stayed in a single room which was a comfortable size and really tastefully decorated. I had a shared bathroom which was available at all times required in three days. The hosts were warm and welcoming and very helpful regarding local sites and eateries. The location is outstanding and great value for the money.

We stayed here during our honeymoon trip to Italy. We would definetly recommend it to others. The location was great - very central, but not on a busy street. Also the rooms we beautifully furnished and the owner was very accomidating and knowledgeable. All in all - an excellent value.

I have had a deep impression from this hotel. Cestelli is one of the best hotel as marked one star level in the world. In my opinion, Cestelli is just like a RYOKAN (japanese traditional hotel) in Kyoto, sophiscated and calm. This hotel is admireble hotel out of " star-lank system",I believe so. Next time I will be there of caurse.

I have never experienced such friendly and helpful hosts in all my years of traveling. Allessio and Asumi, who speak English, could not have been more welcoming and attentive. The location is excellent. My room, a double with bath, was large, clean and pleasant. The public areas, though small, were well decorated and inviting. I am sensitive to noise and always carry ear plugs with me. There was street noise in my room, but it was minimal and really didn't bother me. The only negative thing, a very minor one, was no breakfast in the morning (I need my morning coffee), but since the area is filled with cafes it wasn't a problem. For an eight room, one star hotel in the heart of Florence, I can't imagine a more comfortable and enjoyable place to stay.

very well situated, very warm welcome. Ideal if you don't care for breakfast outside. The owners indicate a good place nearby for breakfast and in the street there is a cheap and correct restaurant to have dinner.

Enjoyed my stay. The couple were very welcoming. The shared bathroom was spotless and they seemed to be constantly cleaning it! We had to get a night key every evening if we were staying out til after 10 which was a bit of a nuisance. Location was perfect-very central and in a safe area. Would recommend Hotel Cestilli.

The location is good - near the station (walkable distance) and close to the shopping district. As other review said, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The room is in a good condition, but the bathroom looks a little pale. They provided two bath towels, two hand towels and one soap for our two nights stay.(No bathmat, don't get a new towel everyday, have to share one little soap with your company) The maid service was halfway.(They cleaned the room, but bed making looked like uncompleted.)

A charming, well-kept establishment. Our room was spacious and elegantly furnished and decorated. The communal bathroom was spotless. The hotel owners can with right take pride in providing visitors to Firenze with a most enjoyable stay.

The hotel was a great find. I doubt anything would compare to this property for the price that we paid in Florence. It has an amazing location right by the Ponte Vecchio bridge, very large spacious rooms (well ours was)and the friendliest most helpful staff i have ever encountered at a hotel. It is a small hotel and is being newly run by a couple who go out of their way to make sure you are having a fantastic time. Being small they can really provide the personal touches. The only minor negative comment i can mention is that it isnt the quietest place with traffic and noise from the rest of the hotel being easily heard. If you want utter peace and quiet this probably wouldnt be the best choice but for everybody else i cant recommend it enough.

This is really a great place. The room, shared bathroom and reception area are spacious and extremely clean, and best of all, decorated with very good taste. The owners (young italian/japanese couple) are very friendly and helpful. Their suggestions on what to see, where to eat and how to get musuem tickets etc are very helpful. They speak English very well. The location is very central, easy walking access to major attractions. If there is a non-perfect thing, it is the noise (not too bad though, but still somewhat noisy). But again, with all those motorcycles on the streets, I guess it is very hard to find a quiet place anywhere in Italy.

This hotel was our favorite of all we encountered on our 4 week trip through France and Italy. The owners are kind, gracious, helpful and speak excellent English. They helped us to find and do what we wanted to do in Florence, and recommeded several very excelltent sights and restaurants of varying expense and experience, several taking us to neighborhoods we would not otherwise have found. The hotel itself was nearly perfect and a fabulous value. It is simply and very tastefully furnished, with obvious attention to detail -- antique wardrobe and bedstead with a lovely old bedspread. It really felt like an old palace, a place that was truly part of the crazy and beautiful city we were in. The value -- 70 euros a night with sink and bidet in the room -- was extremely reasonable, especially in light of the great location and the very beautiful room. The common area and bathroom were also very nicely done. I couldn't more highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel proprietor, Allesio and his gracious wife not only provided one of the most spacious and tastefully appointed room we experienced in our travels, they helped us find a way to get a last minute reservation at the Uffizi Gallery and introduced us to some off-the-tourist path dining delights. We were hesitant to book a room with “the bath down the hall”, but our room had a large sink and the immaculate bath was readily available.

My husband and I stayed here for just one night, but it was wonderful. The host (Alessano?) was extremely helpful and spoke wonderful English. This was probably the best hotel we stayed at on our trip to Italy.

loved everything about the place and the staff were excellent. the only thing we didn't like, was that the twin mattresses they used to make a double bed would always slide apart.
