Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Nice sized bathroom for Italy! We had a shower & tub! AC and Wifi. Loved the balcony for breakfast! Good breakfast (cakes, rolls, cereals, sliced cheese and prosciutto). Easy walk from the train station, and all the sites. Near the Mercato Centrale for an affordable lunch. Right across the street from a bus stop (which could be a little noisy during the day, but quiet at night). Really enjoyed our stay here!

Nice hotel and friendly staff. It is very near to the Central Train Station and that is a very nice Piazza in front of it. We asked the front desk for a restaurant in the day we arrived and they totally got it right. You have to go to Zaza's - the food and the atmosphere are amazing. My husband and I really enjoyed our time in this hotel.

The WiFi did not get up to the second floor. They even brought a modem that did not do much. Given the need for connectivity I was not happy. The bathroom was spacious but had no counter space. The bedroom reminded of a convent residence with high ceilings and fluorescent like lighting. All in all the location was great and breakfast was very good. They could do with a little painting and updating.

That hotel and the welcoming were really nice. There are only two inconvenients : the strong smell of cigarettes in our room. It wasn't fine for our children even for our clothes. Afer our room was located near the street, so it was a little noisy.

Hotel was located within 8 min walking distance of SM Novella train station, however this put it a little far from most sites of interest. We loved the walk but some may not. Florence is a city that is easily walkable. Hotel staff was efficient but not overly friendly. This is Italy. Great value for spacious room. Great breakfast included.Busy street, but ear plugs took care of outside noise. Elevator.

The staff are welcoming and helpful. The rooms and public areas are clean and well maintained. The only problem for us, was that the bed and pillows were too hard for our taste. The hotel is well situated, within a 10 min walk of the major sites of interest. However the area surrounding the hotel is a little run down. Check out Trattoria Nerone, which is situated about 300 metres from the hotel along Via Nazionale (towards the train station) and to the right, we ate there every night and found it to be excellent for price and quality of food and service.

We chose this hotel because of the highly reviewed staff. We found the room was very clean and the breakfast acceptable but too crowded to move. We were disappointed in the staff and found them minimally accommodating. I felt it was over priced for what it was, equivalent to a motel 6 in the states. In fact, the additional 25 euros they charged me per day for my car was about what I felt like the room was worth.

This was my second stay at the hotel, and as enjoyable as the first. Rooms clean, location admirable (4 min walk to Michelangelo's Medici Chapel and 10 min walk to the Duomo), breakfast substantial, if a trifle monotonous, staff friendly, rates not exorbitant for a three-star hotel. Parking for the cars was expensive, however this service is independant of the hotel. I stayed with my famiy of 6 adults for 3 days in Florence. The hotel was clean and conveniently located. Breakfast was good and included in the price. For the price we paid, this hotel was an excellent value. I recommend it. The outdoor courtyard was the perfect way to relax with a glass of wine after a hectic day of touring. The only issue we had is the noise level. The first day we arrived, the AC was broken in our room, which wasn't a big issue because it wasn't very hot. The Piazza below is VERY LOUD. There was a large group on most nights yelling until after midnight (it's not a bar or cafe, so I'm still not sure what they were doing besides hanging out). The night manager gave us a fan for our room so we could close the window and block out the noise, which seemed to solve the problem.

Perfect solution for a quick stay, single room not very big, but enough space for 1. The room was though very very clean, recent restored and quiet, though being on the first floor (which is also the floor were breakfast is served). The hotel personnel is very friendly and kind. The location is perfect if you travel by train and wish to walk in the city. Center and main city attractions are all at walking distance. P.S. if you travel until January 23, 2011, be sure to pay a visit to the "Bronzino" exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi: marvellous!!

A bit far from the center, but within a walkable range. I would recommend it as an excellent relationship price/quality.

The Hotel Reception staff are excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. Ask for a room with a view at the back of the hotel looking towards the Duomo. The rooms are fine apart from the soundproofing. We took a taxi from the airport, (fixed price €20) rather than navigating the narrow streets from the station, especially with suitcases. The local street market beside the Mercato Centrale is well worth visiting and try to negotiate over prices! There are some excellent, good value restaurants within 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Walking to the centre is easy and we will certainly stay at this hotel on our next trip to Florence.

Nice hotel and was within walking distance of major sites. Shower was really small and room was much smaller than it looked in photos. Breakfast had plentiful choices and allowed you to get as much coffee and other items as desired. Staff was helpful. I wouldn't want to have a car in this city. We arrived by plane and left by train, which was about 20 minutes dragging luggage.

This hotel is well located for walking in Florence. The staff is helpful and answered all questions. The true test is this. If we returned to Florence we would return to the Caravaggio.

The hotel was what we expected and the staff were very helpful on checking in/ouyt etc. Breakfast was very good and there was lots to eat and drink. Two local restaurants were great for what we wanted as evening meals and well worth the money. Handylocation to the station for wallking and dragging bags but not in the usual rail sluminess.

Giuseppe Carella greeted my wife and I on our arrival to the Hotel Caravaggio. This guy is awesome. He helped us plan our days, where to eat, etc. etc. Very helpful and such a pleasure to deal with, and I might add the entire staff was just as friendly. We enjoyed our nice sized room and bath, and everything was so clean. They have a very nice breakfast in the morning. To close....we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The room was a very good value. It was clean and large by European standards. Breakfast being included with cost was a bonus. The hotel staff were friendly, spoke good English and were extremely helpful. The lobby could use a "makeover", but overall the stay was very enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel.

Foul smell came from windows and air condition which made the overnight stay rather unpleasant, i.e couldn't use the air condition. Positioning of towels in bathroom I found quite unhygenic because the towels were hung over a rack, so they touched the toilet brush.

The location of the hotel is very close by walk from the duomo and the touristic area of Firenze. Our room was spacious enough for three persons. located on the back side of the hotel, the room was quiet. Breakfast could have been better if there were some fresh fruits to eat. People at the reception desk have been very helpful and very friendly. Overall price/quality/location rate was very good

Excellent hotel, very nice people, very helpful, spectacular bathroom, it even has a hydro, deliciuos breakfast, it could include some fresh fruit instead of tinned fruit salad( as in most hotels ).Anyway you can buy fresh fruit in the street markets all over Europe.Very well located, opposite a park( Piazza Independencia) with a view of the mountains!!!!!!!!!!Relaxing. Near every place you would like to visit and near the centrsl station as well, where you can catch a bus to go to Piazza Michelangelo in the evening to see Florence at twilight.AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL.If you go to Florence don´t miss the chance to visit Pisa, you won´t regret it. You can catch a train at the station too. It´s only one hour long.I definitely recommend Florence and Caravaggio. You can do both( Florence and Pisa) in two full days and two nights.

This was my first vist to Florence and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We could not have experienced a friendlier or more helpful greeting and the ongoing help provided by the staff was fantastic. We were shown how to access all the landmarks within walking distance from the motel and how to get there with little hassel. The recommendation for the restaurant for our evening proved to be one of the best meals on the holiday. I would definitely stay there again and I would certainly recomment it to others visiting Florence

Good value, however the shower had black mold growing in the corners. While the hotel is close to the train station, it is not 200 meters away. probably 1/2 kilometer, which makes dragging your luggage in 95 degree weather a chore, especially with narrow sidewalks. Overall a pleasant stay, and a friendly staff, with better than expected breakfast.

the hotel staff is quite helpful. the location is very convinent and easy to find. The bathroom is a bit too narrow. If you stay facing street it can be nosiy but you will be closing door for air-condition. So it does not bother us. Price for money is good.

A very nice hotel close to the train station and opposite a park. The view from our window over Florence was excellent. Breakfast was good and sitting on the balcony was really nice. Rooms of good size and well appointed. Highly recommended.
