Extremely friendly and helpful staff, stored our bags and allowed us to use bathroom facilities for a late checkout. Beautifully painted murals on bedroom walls. Good continental breakfast.

One of best places I have ever stayed! Fabulous hosts, I speak Italian so I really enjoyed meeting with them they gave me great advice...walkable to main parts of Florence, convenient to train station. Absolutely great price / value!

Hotel was great, we booked it because it looked like it had character and it did, the room had a huge fresco on the ceiling, not sure if 100% authenthic but we didnt care. Good location, within east walking distance of Duomo and other sights, the whole city is so accessable. Florence is very quiet after dark, so dont go looking for late bars, theres not many. Wrap up as it was freezing in November but this is the perfect short break as you take in Pisa and Florence. Hotel breakfast basic as most are but it was included. Good espresso. Room we had could have ben a little warmer but it was a big room. Anywaylets get one thing straight....anyone who spends time in the room is nuts so what more do you want for around 50£ a night in beautiful city. This hotel is highly rec by us. The manager was great

I love the original italian athmosphere of Hotel Burchianti, the feeling of being a private guest of a friendly, distinguished, positively old fashioned family in a Renaissance Palais. A quiet island in a crowded area. Therefore good for people, who love a quiet stay.

The room we had was spacious and beautfully frescoed from floor to ceiling. The only negative was that it was hard to find the entrance to the hotel, at first...but that was not the fault of the hotel.

I had a shoebox sized room in a corner that was very loud. The main entrance was locked when I arrived and difficult to find. The woman at the reception desk did not speak any English and when I told her that if I got any calls to please connect me (I was waiting to get in touch with a friend arriving in the city) she said yes. But then when my friend called she told her I had left, so I wasted my only afternoon in Florence waiting for my friend to call!!!! And then i asked her to call for a taxi to come at 4 am and a wakeup call at 3 am (i had an early flight) and she smiled and nodded, saying yes. But when her son arrived later, who spoke English, i realized that these arrangements were not made. But when he tried out the phone, he found that it did not work in my room1!! so the wakeup call i was depending on would not work. late that night, when i was TRYING to go to sleep b/c i had to wake up so earlier, all these MEN barge into my room (a woman traveling alone!!) to fix my phone while i stand there in my nightgown. it was just awful. i will never go back there again - and it wasn't cheap either!!!

A good review overall. A few items need to be pointed out though: We were surprised that the bathroom of our junior suite only provided a very tiny shower cabin and no bathub! The noise in the street below was very intense and the windows provide very poor (or none) noise and air insulation. But the frescos on the ceiling made us forget all these little downsides.

We had a nice time at the hotel. Well situated and nicely furnished -- beautiful rooms. They did move us the second night for an unknown reason and told us so when we woke up the first morning. Not a big deal, as the new room was just as nice if not nicer, but still a bit strange.

Beautiful rooms but too close to the street. You can hear everything which is very off putting when you are trying to relax. We only stayed there for one night, that was enough. The owners were very welcoming.

We loved the overall experience and our rooms, which were junior suites. Very special and memorable. I'd point out a few things, which did NOT detract from our experience. The phones and fridges did not work so well, especially trying to get internet access. Breakfast is not at the hotel, although it was nearby and quite good. Last point, from speaking with other guests, I'm not sure Vener.Com resulted in the best rate... Might be worth a call. All-in-all, we really enjoyed our stay!

I wouldn't go back to the same hotel. The room was very spacious but very old and the bathroom was so little that you could hardly enter it ! No one came to clean the room (no clean towels, bed hadn't been made up...). The owner (old lady) was not friendly at all. And on top of that, we had a room at the ground floor and we heard the opening and closing of the door every 10 min. at night so we didn't sleep very well.

A warm welcome to Florence from the owner! The hotel is a 5 minute walk from railway station and Duomo with a beautiful entrance staircase (lift available). Spacious, romantic rooms. No breakfast but plenty of coffee shops in the area. The noise from the street may put some people off but, as a light sleeper, I coped with the windows closed and a pair of earplugs! Really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was very nice in appearance, however the air conditioning had not been turned on for the season yet, so we had to sleep with the windows open and the outside traffic was very, very noisy. The web site, nor the hotel confirmation ever mentioned that credit cards were not accepted, which put a dent in our pocket cash. This is very important information to understand before hand.

This hotel was beautiful and we felt like we were staying in someones home as opposed to a hotel. The staff were very friendly and we mumbled through with the vast language barrier. I had read a review before we went that stated that they didnt take credit cards so I Emailed the hotel direct to ask if this was so and was told that they did take credit cards. Upon our arrival the first thing i saw was a hand written sign saying that they didnt accept credit cards. I questioned this and they said no! I told them that I had emailed and they made a phone call and then got a dusty credit card machine out of the cupboard and processed our card. I think that the couple in the autumn of they're years were perhaps reluctant to move into the 21st century :-) Altogether we had a marvellous time in Florence where my now fiance proposed to me and where we hope to marry in 2 years time. Thankyou

Palazzo Burchianti is ideally located 5 minutes walk from Firenze SMN Station. The rooms are spacious, confortable and beautifully decorated. The staff speak limited English however they are welcoming and genteel and very happy to assist in any way they can. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a one of a kind property. The murals/frescos on the walls and ceilings of the rooms make this penzione a very special place.

The sheets were not clean in one of the rooms we had. Also, the room next door was being remodeled and the workers started at 7:00. It was too noisy to sleep. Otherwise, the location was fine and the Burchianti's were hospitable.

Most charming property with large clean triple as represented, but the room being on the street side was subject to traffic noise. The proprietors were very pleasant and helpful. No credit cards accepted. I only wish thee had been coffee available in the morning.

The hotel was excellent and the rooms really came up to the standard detailed on the website. The only comment I have to make is that the hotel did not accept credit cards which would have been fine if we were informed before our holiday. It might be an idea if it was detailed on the website or on confirmation of booking.
