Hotel Botticelli is situated in the heart of the historic city centre of Florence, just a stone's throw away from the San Lorenzo market, and within walking distance of the Duomo di Firenze and of the city's most important museums including the Accademia which houses the original David by Michelangelo.

This city hotel is housed in an original 16th century patrician home, charmingly restored to preserve its typical Florentine renaissance architectural influences. Of particular interest are the vaulted ceilings which characterise the hotel's public areas and a delightful undercover terrace.

In addition to the charm of the building, guests will enjoy first class comforts and friendly, professional service by the hotel staff. On-site hotel amenities include concierge facilities, a 24-hour Internet-access station and a delicious buffet breakfast served daily.

Lovely hotel, away from the heart of town, yet within easy walking distance of all the important sites. Also an easy walk from the train station. The street was narrow and busy so that created some noise, but it didn't cause problems for us since it was winter and windows were closed. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Ask for restaurant recommendations as they sent us to Il Grillo Parlante which was wonderful. We also had good meals at Pepo and a very happening place called Za-Za, both just a stone's throw from the hotel.

The room was lovely - really big and spacious with comfy chairs which was nice. Bathroom was good too although the shower kept sliding down the pole!! Breakfast was okay, your typical fare when you stay in a big hotel, nothing out of this world but it did the job. Location was really handy for all the main sights. We'd go back again.

Location is good though in a bit of a grafitti-ridden area. Celia at the front desk was SOOO helpful. She went way above and beyond to provide good service and helpful info.

The location is excellent. We walked everyplace and the directions from the train were exact. The people in the counter were very helpful and spoke excellent English. Breakfast was just what we needed. The room, however, was very tight. The closet was too narrow for hanging clothes side by side, only one behind the other. It would have helped had the rode slid out.

I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel was easy to reach on foot from the train station even with a wheelie case. It was a few minutes walk from the Accademia and ten minutes from most of the other main sights. My room was quiet but a bit dark with no view as it overlooked a narrow back street. However, the air con was very efficient, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom had good towels and good supply of soaps etc. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and gave me great recommendations for local restaurants. There was an excellent Internet cafe at the back of the hotel in Via Guelfa. As a lone traveller , I felt very secure and at home in the hotel. I would certainly return there on my next visit to Florence.

Nice hotel, well situated close to an animated part of Firenze and close to the center. The staff is nice. The rooms are pleasant, quiet, maybe a little bit too small. Hotel to be recommended.

The desk clerk that we spoke with the most was very helpful, giving us both dining and shopping recommendations. The hotel is in a very convenient location, just a short walk from both the train station and the tourist attractions. We had requested a quiet room, and it was so quiet we were surprised by the number of people at breakfast.

Ideal hotel for the first time visitor. Ten minute walk to the train station. Fifteen minute walk to the Uffizi and the Arno river. Five minute walk to the Accademia. Our room was clean, modern and of adequate size. Security was good; there was a safe available in the room, as well as a bar fridge which held the usual assortment of overpriced goods. Unfortunately, the cooling was broken and wasn't fixed for the four days we stayed. Also, the toilet trickled constantly; it didn't bother us at all, but the water loss must have been considerable. We reported both of these problems to the front desk but nothing was done while we were there. Elevator service is very good; breakfast area and service was very good; front desk staff were excellent. We were on the second floor at the front of the hotel overlooking the street. There was a small terrace for guests to use next to our room. While not offering a postcard view, we really enjoyed it every evening. The general ambience of the hotel was very pleasant.

I spent a few days of vacation during the new year here with my gf. It is very close to the central outdoor market of Florence and close enough to everything else (you can walk to any other part of Florence). Because of the Italian half-door style bath tubs, water gets everywhere when you shower. I am not sure why that is so popular in Italy. The staff was helpful, and rooms were spacious enough. If I went back, I would definitly stay here again. It is close enough to the central train station that walking with luggage is not difficult.

My first time at this hotel. The rooms are really nice, clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Location is excellent - with a great restaurant about 20 steps straight out the front door (Za Za) and only a short walk to all the major sights. Free access to the internet (although there is only one computer and sometimes you have to wait for it). I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms were clean and very basic. Our room faced the street and was extreamly noisey. The street did not seem very active during the day but turned into one big party at night. The property is also a bit more removed. It certainly was wiithin walking distance to just about everything; however, we were under the impression that it was located in the heart of the city. You would think that being of the beaten path that the hotel would be in a quiet area...not so.

The best thing about this hotel is its location. You can walk to about everything in Florence. It is near the central market and there is occasional street noise, that can get loud. The lobby is big with a lot of seating. There is free access to a computer with internet access. The breakfast was average with a good selection of food.

Even with directions, we hard a hard time finding the hotel...not the hotel's fault - streets detoured. The hotel's parking lot could not accommodate our large van, so we had to pay 36 euro per day to park....not a good surprise upon registration.

THE HOTEL IS LOVELY AND COSY, STAFF REALLY HELPFUL AND ROOMS NEWLY REFURBISHED AND VERY CLEAN. BREAKFAST WAS A BIT UNDER MY EXPECTATIONS, BUT I WOULD DEFINITELY CHOOSE THIS HOEL AGAIN FOR OTHER STAYS IN FLORENCE. MOREOVER, IT IS REALLY NEAR BOTH TO FORTEZZA DA BASSO AND TOWN CENTRE, IN A NICE AREA FULL OF RESTAURANTS AND TYPICAL "TAVERNE".

This is a small, well run hotel in an interesting area of Florence near the market. It blends the feel of a neighborhood while being central enough to reach all the desired sites. The room was quite small, but that is to be expected, and overall, a good value for the price. The second floor balcony area (which was near our room) added a feeling of openess to the outside, yet felt private. We had a room at the rear, so it was blessedly quite; I imagine rooms on the street are not so well insulated from the street noise. I would return to this hotel

Secondary glazing to reduce the noise from the street would help, especially when the City empties four communal rubbish bins early in the morning outside the window.

The hotel is very well located within short walking distance of major touristic sites. We had a very pleasant stay; the only "minus" was that we had a room at the front side, and the poor acoustic isolation (windows didn't close very well) made us enjoy the nightlife of the neighbourhood a bit more than we really wanted... But all in all, the hotel offers good value for money; the staff is very friendly and helpful, so if we ever go back to Firenze we would probably book the hotel again.

My girlfriend and I spent five magical days in Florence staying in Hotel Botticelli. It is far better than the accomodation provided in other rated establishments in the city of Flornce. Its very central, reasonable (make sure you know the cost of your stay in advance and print out the details). I found alot of different price quotations on different websites. Their standard of English would put one to shame!

Our stay was short, a break in a journey from Northern Italy to South East Tuscany. We were welcomed by effecient and multi-lingual staff. Our room, though smallish, was comfortable and had all the required facillities. Breakfast was a typical Italian affair - worth asking for a cappucino or espresso. The whole property has been recently reconstructed, a great many orginal features have been sensitively reastored - the decorated vaulted ceilings are a particular treat! The only downside being the location which some will find a little run-down - others will find characterful! The short route from Firenze S.M. stazione down Via Nazionale is not the best into to Florence. That said you will pass a least two very good eating places which rate highly for value. No trip to Florence is complete without a visit to the excellent covered market - only a few mtrs away from the hotel.

A decent property, but perhaps not as special as the photographs portray. Our stay was fine, but $216 for a room of this quality would be too expensive in most other European cities. In Firenze, they can get away with it. Our only complaint would be the quality of the mattress. Also, note that this hotel is corporate owned (one of about 30), so if you want to stay at a small, family-owned hotel, perhaps you should try something else. All in all, a decent place in an excellent location -- you probably won't be disappointed, but then again, you won't be overly impressed.

The staff and location of this hotel are excellent by far and I think unbeatable. The rooms, however, are a bit small and there is not enough space to put clothes. I had no drawer space for underwear, socks and half my shirts. Also the heating system was lacking but the staff made up for it by providing a space heater for me to use and that was fine.

We stayed at the Boticelli for two nights and returned a week later for 4 nights. We were allowed to store some luggage between our two stays at this hotel. The breakfasts were generous and hearty. We had prosciutto and melon every morning with the usual rolls, juice and coffee. The rooms were spacious and in fact, they gave us a small suite on our return. The staff was very friendly and helpful (especially Yolanda) and they had a bellman to help with luggage. They were great to give directions and gave us good referrals to restaurants in the area. Our last day there it was rainy so we bought provisions for lunch and had our lunch on the patio area on the 2nd floor. Best restaurant found was Il Toscana which is about a block and a half from the hotel. Food and service were excellent. We returned 3 nights during our two stays in Florence.

Not half as kitsch as the name suggests, this is a pleasant, quiet hotel in a building of some historical character, well-situated within walking distance of the station and most sites in central Florence. Good cosmopolitan mix of customers. Helpful, smiling staff. Public areas have a touch of old Florence; the double room was clean and bright, if a bit bland. Nonetheless this conversion of an old pallazzo has struck the right compromise between ancient and modern.

Proceed along this tree-lined ring-road until you reach the Fortezza Da Basso (ancient fortress), then take Viale Lavagnini (follow the signs for Fiesole-Campo di Marte-Stadio) and after about 300 metres/0.1 miles make a right at the traffic light onto via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Head straight and immediately after the second traffic, turn left onto via Guelfa following the signs for P Mercato Centrale. Take the first right Via Panicale and then turn left into via Taddea. Hotel Botticelli is located at the end of via Taddea on the left.

By train
The hotel lies approximately 500 metres/0.3 miles from the Santa Maria Novella (SMN) railway station and can be easily reached on foor in approximately 10 minutes.
